Part Eight
Where is he?, Honda paced the track. He didn't want to do this with out Kaiba.
Not only was this something he felt should be shared, but he was terrified.
I can't get mad. I can't. Something came up, that's all..., "Damn it!" he tossed his keys over his shoulder and leaned against the track fence when a sharp pain sung his side.
"Ow! What the hell?!" he looked down to find his keys had been thrown back. He snatched them up and whirled around, "The hell do you..."
"Quit your whinning and get on that bike."
"?!"
"So, how was my 'husband'?" Kaiba asked with a sneer.
"He wasn't your 'husband' at the time..."
"True," Kaiba moved around behind him and firmly gripped his shoulders, "And I suppose you told him you were a virgin..."
"Hmph, come on, everyone knows I'm not..."
"No, no, I mean a 'virgin'..."
"H-How... no, you can't..."
"I know more about you than you think..."
"?!"
"You and I are in the same business, Otogi-san, I can get anything I want on you..."
"I-I could you too you know..."
"I know. That's why I'm a bit surprised you haven't run to Hiroto with what you do know. So what's stopping you?"
"Maybe it's because I have the missfortune of knowing you well enough to know you already told him..."
"Good call. So what do you suppose is stopping me from going to your little 'girl friend'?"
"You... you wouldn't!"
"That's what I thought. You love this girl. You don't want to lose her anymore than I want to lose Hiroto."
"I-it would hurt her... she's too... I don't want to hurt her."
"There's a slight problem with that..."
"??"
"I don't care."
"You wouldn't! Ho-Honda would..."
"Be very upset with me, yes. Leave me, yes..."
"And you're willing to risk that?!"
"If it saves his life..."
"What?!"
"You have no idea what you're dealing with in Seig, do you!?" the sudden change in Kaiba's tone from cool to anger jolted Otogi. He was right, he had no idea what Seig was all about. He just knew he wanted revenge on Kaiba and who was he to turn down the opportunity to help such a cause.
"?!"
"Looks like we have more to discuss..." he picked up the phone and shoved it into Otogi's hand, "Or you can call him now, and call it all off..."
"I-I can't do th-that..."
"Then may I use your phone?" he casually leaned in, reaching over his shoulder for the phone, and whispered a few inches from his ear, "I'm sure that sweet little girl, and maybe even your friends, would love to hear about you and our old friend 'Peggy'..."
Otogi jumped from the chair away from Kaiba. He could feel his heart stop and his breathing became shallow.
"H-ho...how... do you..." he lost feeling in his legs and fell to the floor, "N-No... how..."
Kaiba started with a simple grin before going into full cackle mode then stopped as quickly as he started.
"I didn't." he said stiffly.
Otogi fell back against his desk, unable to move.
"Like I said," he said as he started to leave, "You don't play poker much, do you?"
Otogi stayed put, trying to catch his breath.
"Oh, and what makes you think I plan on losing Hiroto with out a plan to get him back?" with that, he was gone. Leaving Otogi in tears and very frightened until the door suddenly opened again with Kaiba peeking in, "One last thing..."
"??"
"I kissed you because I wanted to." and again he was gone.
Fine, you bastard, you won. Again., he got up and went right for the phone.
No. He's bluffing... he doesn't want to lose Honda., "Forget it Kaiba," he said softly to himself hanging the phone up, "This isn't just about Honda anymore. You're going down."
"So what are you doing here?"
"I'm sick of your mother crying herself to sleep everynight..."
"Hm." he grunted and went back to messing with the bike.
"Why are you bothering if you're not going to ride it?"
"..."
"Oh, I see. You're trying to ignore me..."
"No, no. I'm going to ride it." he said defensively, "I was just... I was waiting..."
"For what? The bike to start itself?"
"Ha. Ha. I was waiting for Seto..."
"Ah! And how is the hubby doing?"
"Do me a favor and don't call him that."
"So sorry." he said sarcastically and backed off, "So, he bought this for you as well did he?"
"Lucky guess."
"Guess nothing, it was in the papers..."
"It was in the papers? How come you didn't know?"
"Mom's been hiding papers and magazines from me..."
"Why?"
"Look, I'm here because I want my son back..."
"?!"
"I know, it surprised me too..." he said, half joking.
"..."
"I know I have never been father of the year, and I know that's why your sister pulled what she did, and now of course your mother is blaming your leaving on me..."
"It's not your fault..."
"In a way it is. I should have been a little more open minded. It's too late to try and mend anything with your sister, so I was hoping it wasn't too late for you..."
"N-No, it isn't..." he said a bit embarassed as he cotinued to fuss with the bike.
"Good! Now, stop messing with that thing and get on it..."
"I-I... not yet..."
"You're afraid..."
"I'm not afraid!"
"He is afraid."
"Seto!" he ran for him and threw his arms around him tight, "Where the hell have you been?! I was getting worried!"
Honda-san shifted a bit uneasily, but was determined to keep his mouth shut.
"H-Honda-san?" Kaiba said surprised, then pulled away from Honda to bow.
"S-Seto..." Honda was becoming embarassed, "S-Stop that..."
"I'm sorry. I just..."
"It's ok. I'm sure Hiroto will fill you in later..."
"Y-yea, um, Hiroto, we actually need to talk soon..."
Gods, what now?!, "O-ok! Sure... dad? Would you..."
"Of course..."
"No no! Not now, it can wait til later... I want to see you on that bike." he said sternly.
"Ok, fine." he got on it, but didn't start it, "There, I'm on it."
"Now start it!" his dad said.
Honda quickly hopped off, "You two are crazy." he said in passing as he headed for anywhere but there.
"I'll talk to him," Kaiba said, "And, I'm sure he never said, but I know your coming here meant a lot to him." he gave a quick bow and ran for the direction of his lover.
Honda-san watched as his son was being chased down by his 'husband'. "What a week."
Kaiba caught up with him in his office. He was laying back on the sofa, panting from having ran all the way.
"I don't understand," Kaiba said, also trying to catch his breath, "You're good on..."
"What is it you needed to talk to me about, Seto-chan?"
Kaiba sat back behind Honda's desk and stared blankly out the window over looking the track.
"Seto, what's wrong?"
How to... just say it., "Seig is still alive."
"?!?!"
Not only was this something he felt should be shared, but he was terrified.
I can't get mad. I can't. Something came up, that's all..., "Damn it!" he tossed his keys over his shoulder and leaned against the track fence when a sharp pain sung his side.
