Relax
Relate, Reflect, Reject
A Honda/Otogi Yaoi. When getting to know someone, you relate. Then you reflect.
Hopefully in the end, they will not reject. Pairings will show as story goes along.
Chapter 8: Relax
(Kaiba Manor) *Honda's POV*
I'm glad we went over to his apartment when we did. Please
Otogi, don't die.
"Can we go and see him Doc?" Jou asks.
"Yes, Katsuya-san. Right this way."
We all get up and follow the doc into the medical wing.
"He's right through this door." The doc says pointing.
We go in, me first. I look at Otogi to see many machines hooked
to him and a nurse looking at each read carefully. I can hardly
stand to look at him like this. His body is so small and badly
bruised.
"Has anything changed since he came here ma'm?" I ask the
nurse.
"Slightly. At times he seems to be improving and others it
seems as if he's going to take a turn for the worst. I can't
give a definite answer to if he's going to successfully recover."
I look at him as his chest slowly rises and falls.
"I need to be alone with him for a moment. If you don't mind." I
say slowly. Fighting the tears that's about to gush from my
eyes.
"Yea. Sure." Jou says turning to the door, Kaiba right behind.
"Sir, I want you to look at this monitor. If it drops below 50,
please let someone know." the nurse says walking past me and
out the door.
I peek at the monitor which has a 67 on it. I then turn to
Otogi and take hold of his hand. I can't help it. The tears
swell my eyes and rush out.
"Otogi-kun. Please be ok. I want you to be here with me. I
want to see you happy. Truly happy. Your problem is now
gone. Now focus on yourself. I...I love you Ryuji Otogi."
I feel his hand slowly close around mine. I look up to see
his face slowly turn towards me.
"I...love you too, Honda." He weakly says. He manages to
smile, as his eyes close and his grip loosen.
I look at the monitor which has a 50 on it. Damnnit! Now 49.
I run out the room.
"Nurse! Doc! Help!" I yell.
Two or three nurses run past me and into Otogi's room. They
slam the door and begin to look at the monitor. They get some
needles and put some medicine into his body. Then the doctor
proceedes to open his chest...surgery?!
I look helplessly as they remove something from his chest and
close him up. I look towards the monitor, which now has a 60 on
it. Phew. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see
Kaiba smile at me.
"Don't worry. He's in good hands. This is the best medical
staff in the country. Believe me, they will do whatever they can
to make sure he's 100% better."
"Thanks Kaiba."
"Come on. Let's go and sit down."
I follow him back into the living room where Jou is looking
into nothingness...who knows...
"How is he?" Jou asks.
"Better I think." I reply.
We sit and wait for the doc to return.
"Excuse me sirs." Dr. Sai says, getting our attention.
"We had to perform an emergency surgery on Mr. Ryuji. There
was a small object in his throat and a blockage. We cleared both
up."
"So is he going to recover?" I ask.
"There is no definite answer. As far as I know, his vitals were
showing signs of improvement, and his health monitor was at 70
which is good. We have to keep him for a while. It may be for
a few more hours, or maybe for days, or months. A definite time
is not known. But you are more than welcome to come see him
when you want."
"Thanks Doctor." Kaiba says.
Two months pass by, and I've been at Otogi's side. His condition
hasn't changed, but as long as it takes, I'll be there for you, Otogi.
"I'll be back later. I need to take a walk." I say standing.
"I'll go with you." Jou says.
"Sorry, I need to sort things out on my own."
I walk out the front door and to Kame Game Shop. I go in and
Yugi's grandpa greets me.
"Hello Honda-san! What brings you here? Coming to buy some
new cards? Try a new game?"
"No. I came to see Yugi. Is he in his room?"
"Yea. Is everything ok? You look worried about something."
"Everything is fine. I just came to visit."
"Ok. Then, tell Yugi he needs to be down here by 6 to help me
close."
"I will." I say walking behind the counter and through the door
that leads into their house. I walk through the living room.
"Excuse me sir, I just finished cleaning that spot!" I look up
to see Mrs. Mutou vacuuming.
"Sorry about that. I'll help you clean it up later." I say
laughing.
I run upstairs and knock on Yugi's door.
"Who is it?"
"Honda."
"Come in."
I open the door and see him, Ryou, and Malik watching TV.
"Hey guys." I say.
They all speak.
"What brings you here?" Malik asks.
"I was just walking around, bored."
"Looks like there's something wrong? You're not you usual
self Honda." says Ryou.
"I'm fine."
"Where's Otogi?" Malik asks.
Otogi...
"Where is he? Did something happen?" Yugi asks.
Damn tears, go away! I look down and see a tear hit my sock.
"What happened?!" Malik asks.
"Nothing. It's just...he's not feeling good."
"We should go and visit. That'll make him feel better." Yugi
suggests.
If only that was the case.
I dropped to the floor and told them what's been going on.
"What?! Kenichi turned out to be Kenji?! I heard about him
from my mom." Yugi says.
"He was that guy that was raping people right?" Ryou asked.
"Yea. He left Otogi in really bad shape. He's flirting with the
Grim Reaper as we speak."
"No wonder you look so down." Malik adds.
"Look, I gotta go..." I'm interrupted as my cell phone rings.
"Hello."
"How is he?"
"Really?! That's wonderful!"
"At Yugi's."
"I'll be there in a few!"
"What happened?" Yugi asks.
"He's made a miracalous recovery! All of a sudden, his vitals got
back to normal and his health monitor shot up to 99. Jou says he's
up and laughing, looking much better!"
"What room is he in?" Ryou asks.
"He's at Kaiba Manor..." I say, thinking they would put 2 and 2
together to ask...
"Why is Jou at Kaiba Manor?" Malik asks.
"He was there with me when Otogi passed out. We saw Kaiba on
our way out and he volunteered to let his medical staff take care
of him." I say lying my ass off.
"That's good." Yugi says. "Go now. We'll catch up with you later."
"Ok. I'll call ya. Bye!"
I run out the room and downstairs past Mr. and Mrs. Mutou.
"In a hurry I see." Yugi's mom says.
"Yep!"
I put my shoes back on and run past Yugi's grandpa.
"I'll come and get some duel monster cards later!" I yell
running out the door and to Kaiba Manor.
Kaiba's butler lets me in and I go straight to Otogi's room. He's
sitting up and joking with Kaiba.
"Where's Jou?" I ask.
"He went to the bathroom. Too many burritos I think." Kaiba says
laughing. "Ugh..I think I had one too many too." He says, holding
his stomach and running out the door.
I look at Otogi who's laughing at Kaiba's worried look.
"Feeling better?" I ask.
"Yes. Much better, thanks to you."
"Me? What did I do?"
"You showed me true love. After you admitted your feelings for
me, it helped me to fight death. I don't want to leave you Honda."
He took my hand and kissed the back of it once again.
"Thank you for everything Honda-san."
"That's what friends are for."
"Yes, they are, now, when do I get out of here. I'm ready
to go home."
I go to the door and call Dr. Sai. He comes in.
"Yes, what is it? Is something wrong Ryuji-kun?"
"No. Nothing is wrong. I just want to know when do I get out
of this hospital. I'm ready to leave."
Dr. Sai laughs.
"We're not in a hospital sir. We're at Kaiba Manor. I'm
Mr. Kaiba's head doctor, Hitoshi Sai. Me and the rest of the
staff have been looking after you these past few months. And
you are a miracle. So close to death, yet still so far. We watched
you fight as you overcame your trials. You, Ryuji, make us glad
that we are doctors."
"Yea, but when can I leave?"
"Oh...yea...that...ahem. We're going to keep you a day or two
more just to make sure you're stabalized. After that, you are more
than welcomed to leave and live your life with this wonderful
gentleman, who has never left your side."
"Umm...me and Honda? Nah, we're not like that."
"Oh, sorry. I thought you two were like Mr. Kaiba and
Mr. Jounouchi. He's been here everyday these past couple months.
Well anyways, I have to finish with my reports and I'll be back in
a couple hours to check up on you."

(Honda's Apartment)
Wow, Kaiba did live up to his word. My apartment looks like
new.
"Kaiba did a great job, eh Honda?" Otogi says.
"Yea. I'm just glad you're ok."
"Me too. Thanks."
