CHAPTER 8

The night was a long one for Yami and Solomon had yet to even stir from his position they had put him in when they
brought him up. Then he heard Yugi start to rise from his sleep and fumble around the room to the door he heard him go straight to the bathroom. After Yugi came out so did Yami he didn’t want to have him see Yugi his grandpa still the same,
with a yawn

“goood morning Yami”
Yami chuckled at how long Yugi had said good and returned the greeting

“good morning little one. Did you sleep well?”
He only received a nod

“well let’s get you some breakfast then ready for school”
And began pushing him down the stairs with Yugi mumbling

“oh but I don’t want to go I want to watch grandpa. And besides who will run the shop?”

“you are going to school little one and that’s final. I will watch your grandpa today and as for the shop it can be closed. Now
go eat”
So Yugi pulled out a bowl and poured something into it from a box then poured some white liquid into the mix and began
to eat. After that Yugi went upstairs, had a shower, brushed his teeth and got dressed he saw Yami just come out from Solomon’s room as he left the bathroom, Yami made a shh sign and started making with both hands a shooing motion. So
he did what he was signed and began walking down the stairs then Yami spoke

“ok well I don’t know what you’ll do for lunch”

“it’s ok I have some money for the cafeteria so don’t worry”
Yami nodded and looked at the clock

“well I think it’s time you get going. Is it not?”
Yugi also looked to the clock and sighed

“yeah it is well ok I’m going”
And walked down the stairs through the shop and out the door a half block away it finally hit him

“hey I never saw or smelt the blood today. Wow he cleans up fast”

“YUGI! HEY YUGI!”
He looked over his shoulder to see Joey and Tristin running towards him

“hey guys. Nice morning huh?”

“yeah sure is”
Joey answered but Tristin remained silent, out loud at least

/what is Joey on? HELLO DID YOU NOT SEE ALL THE BLOOD? But you act like nothing happened arrgh sometimes I just want to ring your scrawny neck. And Yugi is he going bad or mad I really don’t like hangin with him it just creeps me out now. Way to
much way to fast I’ll just try my best to avoid him for now/
Then Yugi had tears in his eyes and looked at Tristin with a trembling lip, that had made Tristin unconsciously step back.
Joey leaned down and put his hands on Yugi’s arms

“hey Yugi bud. Are you ok? Why you cryin?”
But Yugi stilled looked at Tristin and then shook his head and began walking away, then running

“HEY YUGI?!”
He heard Joey but he didn’t care. Joey scratched his head and looked at his last friend

“man what was that about. I hope he’s ok”
Tristin slapped his face saying

“opps I forgot he could read minds”

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY? YOU JECK YOU MADE HIM CRY!”
And Joey took off running after Yugi but he was no where in sight so he stopped running he weesed

“man when did Yugi become so fast? He was always the slowest runner”

While he was running Yugi came across Tea he was about to run again when she grabbed hold of his shoulders

“whoa Yugi where’s the fire? And why are you crying? What happened?”
Yugi mildly tried to get free and shaking his trying not to cry more but then he heard her thoughts

/oh Yugi what’s wrong? I don’t like seeing a friend cry it just breaks my heart. I swear I’ll mangle anyone who’s made you
hurt/
Yugi stopped struggling and just stood there being held by her

“I’m sorry Tea but I don’t want to talk about it. And mangle huh?”

“uuuuuuhhh I I I uummm”
She was a little stumped at that, then remember his new power she laughed a little

“ummm ooppps”
Yugi shook his head and had stopped crying

“it’s ok Tea I needed to hear that”
She beamed

“anytime. Anything for a friend”
Yugi quickly turned and gave her a big hug, she was stunned for a second but then she returned the hug and Yugi felt
like crying again she leaned down and whispered

“I do mean it Yugi I will mangle anyone who has made a friend hurt”
He looked up too her and whispered as equally low

“even if it’s another friend?”
He clutched her shirt tight and began to cry again. That had left her totally blown away after she tightly hugged him back
just as hard. Soon Yugi was fine and they began walking to school talking joyfully. Once they reached the school they went inside and to their first class to relax before it started. Eventually Joey arrived and to Yugi’s relief Tristin wasn’t with him,
Joey walked straight up to Yugi without paying attention to Tea

“Yugi what ever he said I’m sorry I totally hated it when you just started crying like that after you ran away he said he forgot about you know I had started to run after you but you were no where in sight. Man you used to be the slowest runner. And
just letting you know I beat him for what ever it was he said”
Yugi smiled sadly and nodded

“so it was Tristin that had made you cry when I had found you. Well looks like Joey did the mangling this time”
Yugi giggled and nodded

“actually I had wanted to stay home and watch grandpa but Yami wouldn’t have that so he’s watching him and the shops closed. You he cleans up fast there was nothing not even a smell to suggest that something happened in the shop last
night”
Tea shivered

“whoa don’t remind me I thought both of you were dead from the amount of you know”
Yugi looked saddened again so she quickly changed the subject

“so it seems you have become one fast runner now, cause Joey usually catchs you before you even get started and now
you were out of sight in a minute”
This time it worked and Yugi beamed

“yeah and I didn’t even feel tired. But umm can I tell you guy’s something”

“sure”
They answered in unison

“ok well I am getting powers from the mark and then I found out lots want me because of my hidden power that’s what
started this whole thing”
Both blinked at him and then each other and back to him, noticing he looked embarrassed

“um Yug why you blushing”
Yugi coughed and looked away while mumbling

“well they actually want my body first”
Jaws dropped to the ground and Tea screeched

“WHAT?!”
He had to cover his ears once she was done with that there was many people staring at them

“way to go Tea you know I hate people staring”

“well what do you expect? after you say that”

“the principle was one of them but he was just a perv others wanted to make me their mate. Although Yami got me first which I’m glad because he’s not going to force me like the others would and he just saved grandpa. Plus well umm”
Yugi stopped talking and a small blush appeared he wouldn’t look at them instead just out the window causing Joey and
Tea too look at each other and back to him. Joey gave a huge grin and put Yugi in a playful choke-hold then gave him a nugie

“awww no need to explain, old Joey here gets it. Little Yugi is growing up”

“ahh Joey come on nock it off, let me go”
Just then the teacher walked in and gave a mean scowl to Joey, who quickly let go of Yugi and stood up straight. At first
Yugi didn’t get it, Joey never let go that easy then he saw the teacher so he also stood straight and went beside his desk waiting for permission to sit

“good morning class”

“good morning Mr. Ane”

“ok you may be seated”
Everyone sat quickly and as quietly as possible

“first we will start with chapter 10 in the history text book”
Yugi turned to that chapter and his jaw dropped. There on the page was the subject of king Yami and his life before he disappeared mysteriously. He turned to Joey and looked on his page Joey also had his jaw hanging because it was the same
in his book, their eyes met briefly until

“Yugi Mouto! please turn around and face the front! Or would you like to read first?”
He shook his head and did as he was told, still he was shocked Yami would be in the history books. Shortly after two people read and another had started, Yugi was getting angry. It was talking about that Yami was a ruthless ruler that killed any who even looked at him wrong, and how a brave man stood against him then Yami mysteriously vanished leaving the land in peace. Now Yugi was growling so softly that he barely heard the speaker and clenching his fists Mr. Ane noticed

“Yugi Mouto would you care to read next”
Carefully breathing and he spoke but still seated

“no I would not care to. This is slander the king was not like that”
Mr. Ane raised an eyebrow

“oh really. And how do you know this?”
Yugi quickly bit his tounge thinking

/uh-oh well duh I know/

“because the man that stood against the king was my ancestor. We have his journals”
Mentally adding

/plus I know the king, he is nothing like the books say. I have saw his memories for that proof/

Yugi dropped both his jaw and book resulting in a bang, he quickly stood just staring at the teacher, who started laughing manically then he also stood up and began coming towards him. Yugi took the defensive and growled loud enough that everyone could hear which many froze at the sound. Every step the teacher took forward he took back, just as he was about
to reach the wall Mr. Ane stopped and spoke

“so if you did. What was it like”
He was a little thrown off by that one

“W-w-well um umm he didn’t kill anyone for no reason especially because they looked at him wrong. And the reason he mysteriously vanished was because the man trapped or better word sealed him away”
When the teacher started moving again Yugi took a look at his shoulder

/no blood. Well that’s a good thing/

\I see you have our kings mark. But it seems your still a virgin. How can he mark you without taking you?\
Instead of answering mentally Yugi blurted out while holding his mark and blushing

“because he did it to protect me from the ones that would not take no”
Just as he was about to say more the bell rang, he wasting no time he left his stuff and just bolted out of there faster
then anyone. His friends except Tristin looked at each other then the teacher, who looked back at them with a knowing
smirk making Tea want to smack him. When Mr. Ane looked at her she jumped back because he gave her a fanged smirk,
now that she understood, she scowled at him

“you better not try and hurt him or so help me”

“so help you what little girl? The kings the one that protects him”

“Yugi ran because there’s been too many after him for him to trust any grown up. The last nearly killed his grandpa”
Quieter she said

“I should know I saw the shop. There was a lot of blood”
But Mr. Ane heard it and said

“yes I can see why he ran. So your dismissed to go find him and have a good lunch”
They all carefully walked around him and out the door, when they were gone he laughed at how they looked when leaving
but then he noticed Yugi had left his stuff behind, so he packed it in his backpack and left locking the door behind him. The cafeteria was crowded enough that he couldn’t see Yugi so he sniffed him out, Yugi was sitting at a table to the end of it. He guessed it was for a quick escape should some one come, that as Tea put it he didn’t trust. speaking of her she had just
come up to Yugi. When she tapped him on the shoulder he nearly jumped out of his skin, she put her arms in front of her
with her hands spread out

“whoa there chill it’s just me”
He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding when someone had tapped his shoulder

“sorry Tea I just…… oh I don’t know”
He sighed and put his head on his hands closing his eyes, that’s when he started thinking about his grandpa and worrying then the teacher. He jumped half way off the table seat when he heard Yami

*little one stop thinking so much your giving me a headache*
Shakily he replied and Tea slowly called his name confused but she squeaked and stopped talking

/s-s-sorry Y-Yami I I I w-well s-sorry/

*why do you sound so scared Yugi?*

/umm because I just found out that one of my teachers is a vampire and with all that has happened I don’t want to be any where near him that’s why I’m so scared/

*ok little one show me what he looks like*
So Yugi thought about class time from the chapter until he ran out

*don’t worry little one he is harmless and letting you know your grandpa is still sleeping since he was a lot older then Ann
was.. Ok? so get on with your day and stop worrying so much*

/ok Yami. Bye/
After he finished talking to Yami was when he noticed Mr. Ane was standing behind Tea, who was looking a little uncomfortable

“M-Mr. A-Ane”
He stuttered which caused the teacher to chuckle, then he moved out from behind Tea and towards him. Finally Mr. Ane
came close enough that Yugi could see he was holding his backpack which he handed it to him

“so did you have a nice talk with the king”

“y-yes th-thank you”

“still nervous with me even though he said I was harmless. But I can understand why. Anyway tell the king to stop by and
see me some time”

“why don’t you just call him Yami instead of always the king?”
Mr. Ane leaned down a bit to whisper

“oh because that’s disrespect. Only his mate can call by his name”
Yugi blushed slightly and replied

“but A-Ann isn’t his mate and she calls him by his name. See Mr. Ane times have changed it’s no longer disrespect to
call him by his name”
He received a chuckle and he was getting fed up with all the chuckles so voiced it

“ok why does everyone have to chuckle so much it’s really starting to irritates me. Shesh dark chuckles, insane chuckles
more types of chuckles that you can count”
And for a final touch he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted. This time instead of a chuckle he finally received a
laugh from the teacher that irupted all the way to Tea, so in turn he laughed too. All three of them were looked at like they were crazy, Joey walked up to them and stopped to stare at each one when they all turned and looked at him while still laughing he started to back away slowly thinking

/oh dear god they are possessed or they’ve snapped/
Mr. Ane and Yugi laughed harder at that mental statement, finally the laughed died down and Yugi said

“we’re not possessed Joey nor have we snapped. We were just having a well needed stress reliefe”
Joey stood there rubbing the back of his neck looking any where else but them, Mr. Ane interrupted the silince by looking
at Yugi and saying

“see I’m not that bad as Yami said I’m harmless”
Again Yugi made a pouting face

“hey don’t you know it’s rude to listen into someone else’s conversation”
Mr. Ane laughed and gave Yugi a quick noogie before he could protest

“yeah but I’ve never really cared about it and I’m glad too hear that your grandpa is stable. By the way how old was this
Ann girl was turned?”
Yugi put a finger to his chin slowly answering

“umm about 28 I think. Why?”

“just curious is all”
Yugi raised a sceptical eyebrow but let it pass and then the bell rang.

No sooner had Yami finished talking to Yugi did Solomon start stirring, slowly sitting up and rubbing his head groaning

“well good afternoon sleeper”
Solomon froze when Yami spoke. In a very comical scared face he slowly turned his head to meet Yami’s eyes but he was speechless so his mouth hung open, Yami laughed at his face then went semi-serious

“guess your memory’s not back yet. Don’t worry just give it a minute”
Solomon then continued to rub his head looking at the bed a similar way to what Yugi had done the morning after his blood had been taken. Finally to Yami’s reliefe Solomon started looking like he remember, saying

“oww how long have I been out. Oh Yugi must be worried sick and what happened to the purple head guy and”
He stopped when Yami put his hand up softly chuckling

“that will be for a later explanation. As for Yugi yes he is very worried about you he gave me a bit of a headache that way”
Justifying it by rubbing his right temple then looked back at Solomon asking

“well how do you feel?”
Taking a moment Solomon did a mental check of how he felt

“ok just still very tired”
Nodding

“well age makes a difference you were much older then Ann was when she was turned. Ok next question. Feel up to a trip?”
Seeing him raise an eyebrow in question he frazed it better

“do you feel up to going to get Yugi?”

“oh yeah I think so. Don’t want you getting more of a headache”
Chuckling while shaking his head Yami said

“well you better get ready can’t have you going there covered in blood and all”

“huh?”
Looking down Solomon saw what Yami was talking about, he was caked in dried blood. So he carefully stood up, checking
to make sure he wouldn’t fall back down after he succeded in standing unfazed he walked past Yami saying

“I’ll be out in ten”
Not waiting for a reply he went into the bathroom and you could hear water start running. As he said he was out in ten
minutes

“what do you have an internal clock”
Yami asked sarcastically, chuckling at Solomon’s scowl then moved out of the way so Solomon could get into his room.
Coming back out again in fresh clothes Yami asked him

“ready?”
With a nod Solomon started to go down the steps to the living room stopped by

“that’s not how we’re getting there”
Confused Solomon looked back to see amused eyes lock with his

“and how are we going to get there then?”
Yami strolled casually up to him and in a blink of an eye grabbed his wrist

“like this”
And before Solomon even knew what was going on, they were at the alley near Yugi’s school unsteadily he said

“whoa warn me before you do that again”
Yami just walked up beside him and patted him on the back and walked out of the alley expecting Solomon to follow,
which he did when he got his surroundings. Together they walked into the school and to the office Solomon said

“excuse me but I am here to take Yugi Mouto early today so what room is he at”
But when the lady saw Yami walk up behind him she asked

“and you are?”

“well I’m his grandpa Solomon Mouto”
She scowled at Yami

“and who is he”
Solomon looked over his shoulder and to Yami which he noticed was growling, so Solomon turned back to her simply stating

“his love”
That had caused her and Yami to drop their jaws, well Yami only slightly. Debaitingly she chewed on her lip then finally
gave them the room number he was at but as they left that way Solomon made sure she marked him out for the rest of
the day. After they were close to the room Yami said

“well I was definatly not expecting you to take that so easy and then put it so easily”
Solomon shrugged repling

“well you may have taken him that night but you didn’t force him and I can tell Yugi feels safe with you so well yeah”
Shrugging again then they reached the door and he knocked the teacher opened the door

“yes?”

“I’m here for Yugi”
The teacher looked back into the room and moved aside a little to let him inside. A huge bang came after he stepped
into the room, he didn’t have time to look for the source because it was Yugi screaming

“GRANDPA!”
And ran to him launching himself into his arms and began crying, while rocking Yugi he heard

“SOLOMON!”
And three others came running up to him namely Joey, Tea, and Ryou

“your alright!”
Tea cried but they weren’t paying attention to the classroom until

“ahem”
The teacher cleared his throat, so Solomon said while rubbing Yugi’s back

“I am here to take my grandson home early today”

“I see but did your insolent grandson and friends have to inturrupt my class”
He jumped back though when Yami mentally seethed at him

*my love is not insolent, neither are his friends and you had best watch your tounge about what you say of them because
I will kill any who dare insult them. Now good day*
Stuttering the teacher said

“ye-yeah you can t-take him I-I’ll get one of his fr-friends to bring his homework to him”
Nodding they began to walk away, after the final hugs came from his friends to Solomon.
