A Year With You

Jou laid with his head in Seto’s lap as the brunet gently ran slender cool fingers though his hair. He had been living with the two Kaiba brothers for a month. After his little fight with Seto the brunet had been around more. Jou snuggled deeper into the couch and let out a small content sigh. He loved the affection that Seto bestowed upon him. He hadn’t had much kindness or affection growing up. He wasn’t really watching the movie because he was lost in the feeling of Seto playing with his hair. The bell chimed and Mokuba bounced up. “I’ll get it!” He smiled happy he wouldn’t have to move. “No I’ll get it.” Seto’s soft voice almost made him whine. The brunet tapped his head and he looked up into deep blue eyes. “Why do you have to answer?” A slender brow rose telling him exactly what he needed to know. He sat up with a groan and the brunet gracefully stood.

Mokuba was so amused. He was well aware of how his brother felt for Jou and he was fairly sure Jou felt the same. He was also sure the blond wasn’t ready to admit it. What he wasn’t sure of was how he felt about Jou dating his brother. He wanted Seto to be happy but he didn’t want to see his brother heart broken and he was fairly sure Jou could do both. Jou flopped down on the couch groaning. “I know it’s addicting. Seto used to pet my hair like that all the time when I was really little. He hasn’t done it in a long time…” He trailed off and Jou peeked at him smiling. “I’m sure he would if you snuggled into him.” He nodded and smiled brightly. “Jou, I’m happy you’re here. Seto has become more of Seto again and less Kaiba. Just let me tell you now if you hurt him I will do much worse things than kill you.” The blond looked at him and ruffled his hair. “Seto will always be my friend. You guys have done so much for me I can never repay you. I don’t ever want to hurt your brother.” He nodded and sighed deeply.

Seto opened the door and gave the girl on the other side a smile. Kawaii Shizuka smiled back and stepped inside. He shut the door behind her and some one came and took the girl’s bags. “I’m pleased you could come.” He said and Jou’s little sister turned and looked at him. “I’m pleased I could come too. I’m thrilled my brother finally got away from my father but I must admit that I am surprised you were the one to take him in. I honestly never thought you two got along that well.” He sighed deeply thinking over what to say. “Jou and I may not have been friends but I am not heartless and I would never turn away a person in true need. We are friends now but we still have our moments.” The girl gave him a side long look for a few moments then smiled. “I’m glad. So why isn’t Jou bouncing all over me yet?”

Shizuka looked at the tall handsome brunet who blushed softly. The soft darkening of his cheeks was gone almost as soon as it was there but she saw it. “Well I haven’t exactly told your brother that you were coming.” She blinked then smiled patting a slender arm. “So you haven’t told Jou that Mom is thrilled that he is no longer living with Dad and that we are moving to Domino so I can go to school with him.” The brunet shook his head and she smiled. “That means I get to tell him, thank you.” The brunet nodded and gently lead her to the living room.


Jou heard Seto walk in so he peeked up at the brunet. He didn’t see any one but then again all he could see was the top of Seto’s head from this angle. “Who was it?” The brunet moved closer so he could see those intense blue eyes. “Sit up and find out for your self pup.” He growled flopping back down. “I don’t wanna.” Mokuba chuckled and he was tempted to flick the imp on the back of the head. “Nii-san you really don’t want to see your beloved imouto?” He sat straight up and turned staring at his sister. He leaped over the couch and grabber her in a farce hug. “Shizuka! What are you doing here?” His sister giggled hugging him back just as tightly. “Kaiba-san talked to Mother and told here that you were no longer living with Dad. She then asked him a bunch of questions. She agreed that you were living in a good place so Kaiba-san invited me over for a few weeks while Mother gets ready to move down here to Domino.” He grinned like a fool and spun his sister around. “You are moving here?” His sister nodded and he hugged her tightly.

Seto watched the happy family reunion smiling tenderly. Mokuba came over to him and gently took his hand. He squeezed the smaller hand gently. “Let’s leave them alone for a bit.” His brother nodded and he turned. “Wait Seto!” He paused and turned back to the blond who grabbed his face and kissed him full on the lips. “Thank you.” He nodded dumbly and walked off.

Mokuba looked at Jou kissing his brother and smiled. He looked at Jou’s sister who gave a silent nod to his unvoiced question. They both knew the two were meant to be. Now they just had to set them up. It was going to be fun.
