Rhiannah Fairchild?
Chapter Seven: Rhiannah Fairchild?
The next day set the pace for the week.
Jou woke to find a note attached to a pile of clothes, and an assignment of some sort.
He would dress and be made up by the little old maid before breakfast and then wander the house or work on the task Kaiba had set for him.
The CEO returned by four and they would talk for a while about Jou’s progress or Seto’s day.
At dinner, they would talk more and the brunet would often compliment something about the other.
It wasn’t a regular existence but it was comfortable and Jou was relaxed. At night he would find Kaiba, either watching TV or reading in the lounge, and he would sit quietly with him.
By Friday, it seemed nothing would interrupt their world.
Then, Saturday arrived, and with it, Motou Yugi.
Kaiba had decided to schedule Jou’s complete body shaving for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
After the brunet had finished his crotch, Jou was allowed to shower, finishing the rest of his body and taking care of personal issues.
Jou would towel dry and be strapped back into the harness before he could dress.
Then, it was hair and make-up.
He and Seto had gone for a morning walk before brunch and Kaiba had been drawn away by some pressing business, sequestered in a private room upstairs and no one, staff included, was to disturb him.
Jou had browsed the library and was back in his room with the two books he had selected, just opening the first, when Tanaka had knocked on the door.
“Miss? There is a man here to see you.”
“Me?” Jou asked.
“He was quite insistent that he talk to Jou.” The butler had said, “He claims his name is Motou, Miss.”
“Okay, I’ll be right down. Where is he?” Jou asked.
“I have left him in the lounge, Miss.” Tanaka answered.
“Thanks, Tanaka-san.” Jou said as he took a quick look in the mirror.
His hair was down today, but the frilly lavender floral sundress with spaghetti straps and three tiers of ruffles over the cream colored stockings and lavender low heeled sandals would certainly make Yuji or Atem take notice.
Jou sighed before freshening his lip gloss and straightening his bodice.
There was nothing for it, so he turned to the door and walked briskly down the hall and stairs.
In the lounge, he found Yugi peeking into a large vase on the end table.
“I knew you wouldn’t be able to keep away,” Jou said, surprising the other and nearly causing him to knock the vase to the floor.
“Jou!” Yuji cried as he righted the vase then turned toward his friend. “Jonouchi?” he said in a whisper.
“Hey, Yug,” Jou said from where he leaned against the door frame. “Around here, they call me Aoshi.”
Yugi swallowed once, staring wide-eyed at Jou and looking more like the little boy who had originally befriended the blond.
“Jou, why are you wearing a . . . . a . . .” Yugi began.
“A dress. You can say it. I’m wearing a dress. It’s called a lifestyle choice. I’m sure half of Japan recognizes that term from my father’s parting letter.” Jou said, sashaying into the room and sitting on the large comfortable chair. “Do you like it?”
“It’s a very nice d-dress, Jou.” Yugi said, sitting on the couch opposite his friend. “I guess it’s one of the nicest dresses I’ve ever seen.”
“Yeah, Kaiba picked it out,” Jou admitted, fluffing it out around him.” Go ahead, Yug. Hit me with the third degree.”
“Well, that does answer my first question. What does Kaiba think about this? But Jou, you never said anything. How long has this been . . . . I mean, . . ”
“Does it really matter, Yug? It’s not like I told you, now. The important question is how are you going to deal with it?” Jou said.
“Me? Wow, Jou. That could take some time to answer. . . I mean, if you want to wear dresses, I don’t mind. But, it will take some getting used to. You aren’t gonna do like . . . . ?”
“No!” Jou snapped. “No. Gods, Yugi. It’s just a dress. I’m not taking hormones or anything. I mean, I haven’t even considered that.”
“Well. We were all kinda shocked by that, and now to see you, like this.” Yugi said, waving his hand at Jou’s attire.
“It’s just a dress.” Jou insisted.
“Yeah, right.” Yugi scoffed. “And under the dress, you got on boxers, right? Or are they briefs?”
“Briefs.” Jou muttered.
“Really?” Yugi added.
“Yeah! Bikini briefs.” Jou said.
“And are they purple?” Yugi asked.
“Orchid, actually.” Jou admitted sounding cheeky. “With pink trim.”
“Do they say, Princess?” Yuji teased.
“No!” Jou snarked, then the two began laughing.
“At least they don’t say the day of the week, like that pair of Anzu’s we found at your . . . . Oh, Jou!” Yugi gasped, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, Yugi. It’s cool. The fact that you can kid me, means you’re okay with it.” Jou explained. “That means a lot to me.”
“Yeah, but if you ever do wear panties that say Princess, I don’t want to know about it, Okay?”
“Sure. That’s a promise.” Jou said, smiling.
“So, about Kaiba? Are you really happy here?” Yugi asked.
“Yug, I ain’t got no where else to go. My dad kinda left me high and dry, remember? Kaiba’s okay, when you look beyond the ‘Asshole’ part.” Jou said.
“You could stay with me, you know? I’d make room, anytime.” Yugi offered.
Jou scoffed. “Yeah and I bet Rebecca’d just love to share closet space with me. Hey, we could swap clothes.”
“Very funny.” Yugi blushed at the idea. “So, you really want to say here? And you and Kaiba are really, . . . Together?”
“It’s kinda early in the relationship to actually call it together. We’re getting to know each other.” Jou offered.
“And he buys you dresses?” Yugi added.
“It’s a good dress!” Jou defended. “And he picked it out.”
“Yeah, Kaiba has got great taste in dresses.” Yugi snorted. “He’s a genius after all, why would he be lacking in anything?”
“And I’m not.” A haughty voice came from the doorway. “Usually, a phone call in advance warns the host of an impending guest, Motou. Then, certain arrangements can be made.” Kaiba stepped aside and Tanaka entered with a tray filled with cups, a teapot and a plate of sandwiches.
He placed the tray on an end table and lifted one of the cups along with the pot. “Motou-san?” he asked handing Yugi the cup and filling it with the hot beverage. “Miss, Aoshi?” he turned to Jou and repeated the action before finishing with Seto. “Kaiba-san?”
“Thank you, Tanaka. You may go.” Kaiba said, sitting on the arm of Jou’s chair.
“I’m sorry for just coming here, Kaiba. I was just in the area. Mokuba told me about your new place, he wasn’t kidding. It’s a lot better than the old one.” Yugi said.
“I see. So, what were you two arguing about? I heard you down the hall.” He said, sipping his tea.
Yugi grabbed a sandwich as Jou said, “I was telling my friend that he shouldn’t make such a big deal about a dress.”
“And I said, that ‘it’s never just a dress’ right?” Yugi said, smiling over the sandwich.
“In some cases.” Jou stated, looking intense.
“I tend to agree with Motou on this.” Kaiba said, “Although, in the case of today, I think the dress would be sufficient. Are you implying something else?” he shot the other.
“I was just concerned that, eh, Aoshi, might be leading to something more extreme. We’ve seen it before," Yugi explained.
“I am not Ryou, Yug. Different situation. Besides, Kaiba doesn’t know about that whole thing.” Jou said, moping slightly.
“Ryou? What has the little Brit been up to? I thought he went to some college in England or Europe?” Kaiba asked.
“He did.” Yugi began. “But what he and Bakura didn’t tell us, is that his reasons for going there, had more to do with a life changing decision he had made.”
Kaba looked confused, so Jou spoke up. “He entered Oxford dressed as a girl and going by the name Rhiannah Fairchild. Then, last year, he went to Sweden for a little operation. Seems he spent three years undergoing hormone therapy to prepare for that. Now, Rhiannah or Rhia, is interning at Tokyo General as a Genetics and Gender Reversal Therapist. She and Bakura have decided to get married after she gets finshed. Oh, and the old thief is using the name Ryou Bakura, now.”
“Ryou Bakura had a sex change operation?” Kaiba asked, incredulously.
“Yeah,” Yugi said, “And even though we were pretty shocked, most of us have adjusted. I mean, everyone but Anzu has accepted Rhia, completely. That’s my point. If Jou is aiming in that direction, he doesn’t need to worry about the gang. His friends will support him.”
Jou looked up at Kaiba in entreaty, wanting to clear this up, but not sure how to proceed.
Kaiba didn’t hesitate. “I don’t know for sure, but I hope he isn’t thinking that. I like the dresses, but under all the lace and trims, I still expect to find a male.” He said, though his voice had a strange tone.
Jou stared up until Kaiba noticed and raised an eyebrow. “That’s only because you are gay to the core, Asshole.” The blond said, before turning back to Yugi. Seeing the shocked look on his friends face, he laughed. “Sorry, Pal. That’s my pet name for him. Right, Asshole?” he said, making the word sound affectionate.
Kaba swatted the back of Jou’s head and turned back to their guest. “The dress also fails to hide a poor sense of humor.”
“Um, right,” Yugi demurred, blinking rapidly at the easy way the two were associating. He hadn’t believed Jou when they had talked on the phone, but was starting to accept their relationship.
“Anyway, Seto. The thing is, Rhia will most definitely be visiting and we wouldn’t want you to be unprepared.” Jou explained.
“She will probably call first, though.” Yugi said, his tone displaying his embarrassment.
“Eh, don’t worry about it Yug. You actually came at a great time. I was bored anyway. The business man can’t seem to take a day off and he was working on some project.” Jou complained.
“You didn’t need to upset your work for me, Kaiba. I understand that you are busy. I only came to see if Jou needed anything.” Yugi offered.
“Um, Yug. There is one thing.” Jou began, and both Yugi and Kaiba turned to him. “When I’m here . . . like this . . . could you call me Aoshi? It kinda goes with the dress.”
“Sure, Aoshi. I’ll try to remember.” Yugi said, as Kaiba relaxed.
The visit lasted another hour and by the time Yugi left, Kaiba had been privy to a great deal of gossip about the group of friends.
What surprised him the most, was the fact that the Mazaki girl was now involved with the maniac and a long distance relationship at that.
According to Jonouchi, Marik had calmed down from the association and Anzu, who had taken the stage name of Tea Gardener, had picked up some fairly colorful phrases from him, as well.
“We all had trouble believing they were serious, until he actually let Atem hold the Millennium rod so that we could make sure he wasn’t controlling her mind. After that, thing got really weird.” Yugi had explained.
“Yeah, remember when Anzu tried to teach him to tango? Who needs porn, right Yug?” Jou guffawed and Yugi giggled and the combination brought an unexpectedly sincere smile to the brunet’s whole face. He even admitted that he would have liked to see it, though his personal fantasy preferences would never include either of them. This brought another round of laughter that left the two friends thoroughly winded with stitches in their sides.
Yugi promised to call later in the week and the boys said good-bye.
Yugi’s acceptance of Jou’s clothing did not include a hug though, and the blond noticed it silently.
After saying good-bye and closing the door, Jou turned on Kaiba, irritably. “You still expect to find a male?” he shouted. “It’s a good thing I didn’t understand you before, cause now I am wondering if you are actually Human!” and he turned and headed for the stairs.
“Where are you going, now?” Kaiba called.
“I have to PEE!” Jou yelled back, not turning or slowing his assent.
“Good. When you finish, change to the dinner dress I left for you. I’ll meet you in the library.” The CEO called back.
Okay, so one guess was pretty close.
But, no one guessed the part about Ryou.
Now, are we all looking forward to that little visit?????
I know there may be some disappointment in my pairings, but I like to go to weird extremes, with everyone except Jou and Kaiba.
I admitt it, I'm a Seto/Jou fan to the core.
A quick poll: Who do we want to see Yami paired with? I really haven't chosen anyone.
