The Ritual Begins...

My bad, always updating late! More is explained in this chapter, but it does leave you with a cliff-hanger (I'm just warning you). Hope you like it!

Yugi’s POV:

I remember me and Jou being taken out of that cell and dragged down a long hallway that seemed to last forever. The scent of death was all around us as the floors seemed to be stained with blood and children. A shiver ran down my spine as I feared the same fate for me and Jounouchi, or even a fate worse then death (like what happened to Jou back in the cell or what was going to happen to me if that man didn’t step in). That man, for some reason he seems different from the rest (compared to the horny and disgusting pigs). His harsh yet stern face shows an unemotional and uncompassionate solider, yet his eyes (though icy and cold) tell a different story. I turned my head back to Jou, who has been quiet every since the incident. I couldn’t blame him, poor guy been through hell and back from his assault with those two guards. I don’t know what to say, should I apologize? Should I try to comfort him and tell him it’ll be alright like he would say to me? I guess I’m not good at these kinds of things, since I was always the one needing hugs and kisses. So what can you do in a case like this, what should I do? I gave Jou a sympathetic look, trying my best to tell him without words how I felt, but I don’t think he notice me. He had a distant look; reflections less eyes staring back at nothing as they dragged him like a limp rag doll.

Suddenly I was given a hard shove from behind; guess I wasn’t going fast enough for them as one of the men snatched my arm and pulled me the rest of the way. Finally we made it to the end of the hall, though it wasn’t like I was happy when we did. We were taken to a gigantic room filled with people wearing robes and hoods covering their faces. There wasn’t much in this room, except for the platform and throne like chair sitting upon it. Everyone wearing a robe was either against the wall or on the podium, watching us as we entered. I noticed the man with the icy blue eyes standing next to the chair on top of the platform; his arms cross and having that same unemotional look plastered upon him. He gave a motion to the guards and had them take us to the middle of the floor; twisting our arms into our backs as they forced us to kneel down.

“All hail Lord Pegasus!” He shouted as a man with long white hair suddenly appeared and took a seat at the throne. He had a burgundy looking suit on, and some kind of glass wear covering his left eye (I didn’t get a good look at it because of his hair). But what really scared me the most was his devilish smile. Now it wasn’t like an evil or scary one, it was more like a “Much too happy” smile that made him freaky. Nerveless the question still remained, “Why were we here and what was going to happen to us?” I gulped really hard and shivered as he laid his ‘eye’ upon me, and grinned.

~Normal POV~

“My, my, my, what a lovely sight this is!” Pegasus gleamed as he clasped his hands together. “Kaiba, be a dear and get those two prepared.”

Kaiba didn’t say a word as he leapt from the platform and landed before Jou and Yugi. He grasped Yugi’s chin and forced the boy to look into his eyes, examining the frighten child’s features.

“You are…”

Yugi got a hard smack on the face as Kaiba walked away and headed towards Jounouchi. Yugi was shock as he didn’t quite understand what just happened, feeling his whole right side of his cheek swell up. Jou suddenly came out of his trance, growling angrily at the man. “YOU BASTARD, HOW DARE YOU LAY A FINGER ON MY FRIEND!” Kaiba trotted by the shrieking boy and gave him an “I’m better then you” look, which angered Jou more. “WHAT? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING ABOUT!?” Jou gritted trying to stand up and face him.

“Mutt.”

A puzzled look formed on poor Jou as he tried to figure out what he just said. “Did, did he just call me a…”

“Mutt…Dog…Mongrel.”

Jou became furious as Kaiba continued to spout off names saying they probably resembled him. With all his strength he managed to push himself up (as the guards were holding him down) and ‘almost’ come face to face with the blue eye beauty. He glared at the man, trying to stare him down (but to no avail). Kaiba stilled had the smirk on his face as he took his finger and gently pulled Jou’s chin up closer to him.

“Bad Dog…SIT!”

Kaiba punched Jou across the face and sent him flying back down to the hard marble floor. Yugi screamed for Jou as Kaiba smiled in satisfaction and wiped the blood from his hand. Jou cuss underneath his breath as his spit out some blood forming in his mouth, glaring at the man he hated even more with a passion. Kaiba returned to his post and returned into the same position he was in (by crossing his arms) and gave Jou one last sneer before becoming unemotional once again. “Nice Kaiba Dear.” Pegasus teased as he patted Kaiba on his back. “Now get them all nice and clean for the ceremony.”

Kaiba just nodded as he turned his attention behind him, “RYOU COME!”

The boy suddenly came out, wearing nothing but rags as he carried a bowl and a cloth in his hands. Yugi gasped as he recognized it was the boy they saved, that he was the one who…

Ryou kept his head down as he walked in front of them, placing the cloth in the bowl and wiping it on Jou’s face first (making sure he got all the blood) and then to Yugi. Yugi tried to pull away, not really wanting him to touch him. “Why…why are you doing this!?” He cried feeling the tears from the past swell up again.

Ryou lowered his head even more, trying to hide the quilt and sorrow he felt behind his hair as he finished up and hurried away. Yugi watched him disappear into the crowd as the hooded men started coming closer, chanting some weird language at them. Pegasus stood up and came down from the podium to Yugi and Jou. He snapped his fingers and a man came holding a silk pillow that held two golden items on it – a rod and what seemed like a necklace type thing. He held up the one that looked like a staff into the air and brought it back down in front of Jou. The men’s chanting were becoming louder as the two guards released the grip on him and backed away. Jou was just as confused when Pegasus handed him the rod, basically placing it into his hands. Silence overwhelmed the room as all eyes fell upon Jou, like they were waiting for something. When nothing did happen Pegasus lifted the triangle necklace and brought it over Jou’s head – Jou still being confused on what the hell was happening. But Jou decided to take this as an opportunity to escape, since they were practical giving him a weapon. He leapt into the air and swung the staff at the men, and then Pegasus. He saw the guards from before come up and try to restrain him, but with a quick swing he bashed in one of their faces (using the rod) and kicked the other in the gut. Jou was feeling quiet good and full of revenge as he ran towards the two holding Yugi and was about to knock their lights out, when a strong hand seized his wrist and twisted it painfully to his back. Jou cried out as he dropped the rod to the ground and turned to see Kaiba gripping his arm. He snatched Jou’s hair and yanked him back to his spot, shoving him face down into the floor. A clapping could be heard as Pegasus smiled brightly and laughed at the whole ordeal,

“Bravo! Bravo! That was quite entertaining if I do say so myself! It’s been a while since we had a lad actually fight back and be successful at it, well sort of. Kudos to you my boy, kudos! But unfortunately, you’re not the one, which means…” Pegasus just gave a thumb down, meaning only one thing. Jou squirmed underneath Kaiba’s death grip as he felt a knee jam into his back now, causing the wind to be knocked out of him. One of the servants came up and picked the rod off the ground and took the necklace from around the blonde’s neck, placing them back into Pegasus’s hands. “Thank you.” He beamed as he casually strolled over to Yugi and gave him the exact same grin that sent shivers down his spine. “What’s wrong my boy, does this look familiar to you?” He asked dangling the chain in front of Yugi’s eyes (which were now reflection less). Yugi remembered all to well from his dream where he had seen that necklace before, but it wasn’t just a necklace, it was…

Yugi’s hand moved on its own as he reached for the charm that resembled somewhat of a pyramid. His fingers slowly tracing the markings of the eye that was pictured on the front, as the words “Millennium” trailed from his lips. Pegasus smirked with delight as he placed the item in his hands and a glow started to form all around him. Yugi’s heart began to beat faster and faster as he stared at the eye, feeling something hot all around. Pain filled Yugi’s tiny body as he felt something inside of him began to pull and tear him apart, screaming as he burned. Yugi felt as if he were torn in two as he final let
go of the necklace and collapsed to the floor from exhaustion.

Pegasus started to laugh uncontrollably as he turned around with his arms stretched out and towards the sky, shouting for all to hear. “Now that’s what I call a ritual!” As Yugi’s body lay next to another similar to his own.

It's a weird cliff hanger I know, but next chapter I shall promise you lemons...like a Bakura and Ryou one, how about that! Sounds good to me, bye bye for now!
