Jou marched down the hall and hammered on the door that Yugi resided behind. “Yugi come on…”

“Coming,” chirped the reply. There was a brief shuffle of feet and clothing and then Yugi came out dressed in a violet robe decorated with silver sequins. Both of the taller teens blinked.

“Yug… what are you wearing?”

“It’s for the gala banquet that the palace is holding tonight. I thought I’d dress up appropriately for the occasion. I also took the liberty of getting you both an outfit too.” The short man gave a large grin and his eyes sparkled in delight like the sequins on the robes.

“It’s… a dress,” Jou hissed like a vampire to a cross.

“But you can’t go to the gala dressed like ~that~. I mean no offence Jou, but your leather outfit- especially the hat- is just ~so~ out of place”

“For once I agree with the runt.”

“I AM NOT A RUNT!” Yugi shrieked, taking Seto by surprise. After his brief outburst, he continued with the explanation. “They think that we’re still waiting for tomorrow so we should keep a low profile if we want to find Mokuba without them knowing.” Jou groaned as he slipped off his hat and began to change into the tunic that Yugi had handed him. It was decorated with green embroidery across the waist and the lining of the collar. He placed his belt over the tunic and fastened the pouch containing the dagger of Myvatan at his hip whilst he hid the Key of Benu under the tunic. The coiled whip hooked onto the belt at the back and covered over with a cloak. Seto did the same, tying the Orosini statue on in a pouch at his waist. The brunette wore a silk tunic with a silver lining and broach that clipped at his chest.

They headed towards the main halls and were suddenly overwhelmed with noise and the exotic smells of herbs and spices. There was music and dancing and Yugi blushed at the sight of the wriggling bellies of the dancers.

“There…” Jou said to Seto pointing toward where the same men that had escorted them to the palace sat drinking. “Yugi, get some transport; we’re getting out of here as soon as we get Mokuba back.”

“Be careful Jou!” The two men kept hidden in the crowd and only moved out when one of the men that Jou had pointed out earlier started to leave. They both followed him silently down a hallway until the path twisted and they came to a dead end; the man had disappeared.

“What the-” Seto exclaimed, his eyes frantically searching for where the man could have gone. Jou stared suspiciously at the wall in front of him. The light fabric of his tunic seemed to flutter slightly from a breeze. He traced a finger across the smooth wall and realized that the wall was warm at the top corner. Jou pushed hard against the wall and, despite its solid appearance, it moved almost silently. The wall swiveled and then jarred open enough for a man to enter into the secret passage. The blonde grinned and then turned to his partner, who had a hand on his nose. He snickered when he realized what had happened and watched the brunette rub his nose.

“Sorry…” Jou chuckled before becoming serious once more. He plucked a lighter from the pouch that held the dagger and they carefully treaded deeper into the tunnel. Finally, after what seemed like hours of trudging through the darkness with nothing but the lighter, the tunnel began to brighten with the flickering of torchlight in the distance. As if he could sense his brother just ahead, Kaiba rushed forward. “Kaiba! Wait!” Jou grabbed the whip from his back when the brunette ignored his warning. A crack was heard just as Seto’s silhouette disappeared. Jou pulled the whip and felt the brunette’s body collide with his. Suddenly, there was a loud splash and snapping jaws; glinting reptilian eyes glowed as Jou shed more light onto the dangerous path before them. Seto gasped as he saw the large hole filled with saltwater crocodiles that he had nearly fallen into, noticing the piles of bones that were scattered on the ground around it. He silently cursed himself for his impulsiveness whilst the blonde stood up, searching the tunnel. Immediately Jou spotted a safe bridge that would have probably gone unnoticed by any other stranger trespassing in the tunnel. Suddenly he realized that his arms were around the other’s waist whilst his chin was resting on Seto’s mahogany locks. The two gazed at each other for a moment before they reluctantly pulled apart. They then crossed the bridge, finally arriving at a large dungeon.

“Mokuba!” Seto exclaimed upon seeing the small figure sitting in the corner of a cage with his arms wrapped around his legs. Jou recognized the boy he saw from the photo except that the youth was a mess. The long ebony locks that had been present in the picture were cut off and his face was smudged from dirt and tears.

“Brother…” he whimpered. Seto made his way to the cage and embraced his brother through the bars. Mokuba’s thin arms returned the hug and he started crying against the brunette’s chest.

“Hang on kid…” Jou said reassuringly as he started to pick the lock. Mokuba sniffed a few times.

“Who are you?”

“Names Jou…” the blonde replied with a smirk whilst Seto wiped off the dirt that was on the young boy’s face with a gentle hand. Mokuba smiled shyly at the handsome stranger.

“He’s a friend…” Seto added. The tear-stained boy looked surprised and then suddenly grinned mischievously, immediately forgetting the months of captivity he had endured. He tugged gently at Seto’s tunic. “What’s wrong Mokie?” Mokuba leaned close to whisper in his brother’s ear. When Jou had finished with the lock he opened the door and looked at the brothers. There was a bright flush of red across Seto’s nose and cheeks and his glacier blue eyes were wide with shock. Mokuba giggled and then coughed as the malnutrition had made him sickly. Jou raised an eyebrow.

“What was that all about?”

“N-None of your business!” Seto spluttered. Again he cursed himself silently for being so flustered and for adding more to his brother’s amusement. The brunette sent a halfhearted glare at the boy as he scooped him into his arms. They hurried back down the hall, slowing down whilst crossing the bridge over the crocodiles and then once again increasing their speed. “Don’t you think that this was all a little bit too easy?” Seto asked as they neared the way out, wondering why there were no guards at all to stop them.

“Yeah a trap… I know.” Jou replied, unconcerned. He smiled when, as expected, a huge crowd of armed men stood in the hallway between them and the exit. He fished for the amulet around his neck as the men charged to attack. Suddenly there was a burning flash and Seto recognized the extremely familiar glow of the Key of Benu. It flashed once… twice… suddenly; the clothes of the men closest to them were alight with blazing flames. “Stay close to me!” Jou said to the brunette whilst the mysterious flames spread from one man to another. Together, they barged a path through the men, feeling nothing more than a tingly warmth from the fires. They continued to run as the men chased after them, heading back towards the banquet with the hopes of losing them before they met up with Yugi, who would be ready with the horses for the ride to the main city. But, as was their luck, things didn’t go according to plan.

“Mrmph!” Yugi’s voice was muffled by a hand clamped over his mouth. He stared wide-eyed with fright at Jou whilst the horses stood nearby, still unprepared. The person holding him captive was a young man- probably in his early twenties- with sleek silver hair and jade green eyes.

“Quite rude that you would leave without even allowing me to make an acquaintance with you gentlemen, especially after my orchestrating this elaborate plan.”

“So ~you’re~ the one that was behind the kidnapping,” Seto hissed. “I’ll make you pay for ~ever~ messing with me and my brother.”

“Let Yugi go, whoever you are!” Jou growled.

“Do you ~want~ to know my name?” asked the mysterious man.

“Not really,” Jou replied. “Because I think my amulet doesn’t ~like~ you very much.” The Key of Benu glowed once more and Yugi took the opportunity to kick the mysterious man hard in the shin, scuttling to Jou’s side to avoid the line of fire. The black robes that the man wore lit up into a blaze like the others had but, rather than falling into a flurried panic, the man laughed hard and the fire seemed spread faster as his green eyes flared. A green mist began to leak out of the man’s eyes, nose, and mouth. The mist then turned into a cloud, engulfing the fire and extinguishing it.

“My name, my dear Benu, is Runihura…” came the distorted and disembodied voice as it charged at the blonde. The Key of Benu flared defensively and the two forces battled. “Tsk, tsk, tsk; this won’t do Benu. You need to… cool down!” The fire and mist became intense, engulfing the blonde.

“JOU!!!” Seto yelled just as the guards surrounded them. A series of crashes and screaming was heard as the blonde was violently thrown backwards, the pouch and whip dropping onto the sand. Large holes were bored through the palace walls clear to the spring. Jou noticed a faint chanting sound before he hit hard against something cold. He burst up through the surface of the water of the spring, gasping for breath as he stared at the chanting robed figures surrounding him.

“My Lord, you’ve found him… you’ve found Benu?”

“Yes…” came the disembodied voice. “Who else can withstand the fiery flames of Benu other than Benu himself?” Jou searched wildly for an attack. He vaguely recognized the pool that he had bathed in earlier, only there had been an addition of a huge mirror. He saw the reflection of Runihura behind him; he turned to attack, only to find that the man wasn’t there. Jou heard the man chuckle as he turned back to the mirror and saw the reflection of himself with Runihura, who dragged him into the pool. A chuckle echoed through the area as he and the blonde flailed in the water. Suddenly, the guards dragged Seto, Yugi and Mokuba into the palace.

“The Devil’s… mirror!” Yugi whispered, staring at the large mirror hanging next to the oasis that he had bathed in earlier. Seto was helpless as he struggled against the restraints of the guards. Jou finally came to the surface again gasping and coughing. “JOU!!!”

“Take the two small ones away,” said the leader of the guides that had led Jou and Seto into the palace of Chisisi. “We only want the presence of Kaiba for the ritual to commence. Today is the day of reckoning; the day where our divine god comes into this world.” The man stepped into the light and all present could see that he was dressed in the attire of a priest.

“It’s not exactly divine if he murders someone to get here,” spat
Jou. Runihura chuckled as he gripped the chin of Jou’s reflection. Jou, in turn, couldn’t move.

“Who said anything about ~killing~ you my golden beauty? You are a ~far~ too magnificent a creature for even a destroyer like myself to annihilate. No, ~your~ fate is very closely aligned with mine. Have you not read the text? The ritual to bring about the birth of Runihura was the mergence with the great firebird of Heliopolis: Benu. And do you know what it is that comes with mergence and causes that
bond to form between us?” Runihura smiled, licking the back of Jou’s now wet neck.

“Sex?” Jou asked. Runihura smiled, glinting two long fangs. Jou looked
at the handsome god. ‘Well as long it doesn’t involve snakes I’m fine with that,’ he thought.

“Such a pity that the High Priest has wasted his petty life to prevent this fate. I thank you, Seto Kaiba, for delivering all of the treasures that I seek. Now, my disciples; make sure that the items that he carries are taken off of him. I don’t want any interference from the priest’s little ~toys~.” The god smiled as the guards searched the bodies of the three captives and removed the statue. Runihura turned his attention back towards the blonde. “As for ~you~… my golden beauty… soul of Benu, the firebird of Heliopolis… be prepared to enter into a new world, the likes of which you have never seen.” With that, the leather strap tied to the Key of Benu snapped and Jou was plunged into the water once more. A few minutes after the blonde’s submersion, steam started to appear from the oasis. Suddenly the water started to boil as Jou resurfaced, casting a reflection that was not his own but a wet, gold and red bird the size of a peacock. The ends of its feathers blackened as the flames started to dwindle to smouldering embers. Benu the firebird screeched in fear and panic before Runihura shoved him back into the water.

“My lord, we cannot find the dagger of Myvatan,” said the Head Priest of his cult.

“No matter… it would not be a threat to me right now. I’m so close…”
Jou’s arms made weak attempts to fight until exhausted, they dropped into the pool, causing the raging water to subside, wisps of steam rising from its calming surface. The mirror then showed Runihura scooping the bird into his arms. At the same time, the unconscious blonde was suddenly lifted up in mid air. Jou’s body moved slowly towards the mirror, which started to melt around him before it swallowed him up. Once the body had passed through the mirror, Benu disappeared and in its place lay Jou. Runihura leaned down to suckle upon the blonde’s exposed neck, ravishing the taste before tearing off Jou’s wet linen tunic to glide a tongue in intricate patterns across his stomach. He then wrapped his arms carefully around the blonde’s waist, tilting Jou’s head back to rest against the crook of his neck before running a hand down the exposed body. He grinned as his fingers wormed under the fabrics to caress the blonde’s sac. The demi-god’s grin widened when he heard Jou groan; he proceeded to lap at the blonde’s neck, inching closer towards his mouth. Plunging a tongue between the slightly parted lips, Runihura explored the curves and bends of the young man’s mouth in a deep and breath taking kiss. His hand began to stroke the member underneath the tunic, eliciting muffled whimpers and gasps from Jou. Runihura finally released the kiss, licking the lips of the panting blonde as he proceeded to insert a finger into Jou’s passage. Jou hissed, bucking his hips to against the finger hitting his prostrate and fuelling the watching brunette with erotic images and then fury.

“Get off of him!!!” Seto shouted. “Runihura!!! GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY
PUPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!” his voice echoed down the chamber and the water became disturbed once more. Heat coursed through the oasis and the Key of Benu emerged from the waters, the mysterious blazing fire it held lighting up with greater intensity. Runihura’s followers cowered whilst the demi-god hissed angrily at the brunette, holding Jou close to his chest. Suddenly, a black and red blur shot past Seto and pierced the mirror, disappearing into it. Runihura then saw the dagger of Myvatan, realizing for the first time that Jou was holding it. The demi-god roared as he desperately attempted to continue with the ritual before it was too late. With a right hook the blonde stabbed Runihura. The mirror began to crack, the green mist leaking out from the fractures. Abruptly, Jou was thrown out and landed with a bump on his posterior upon the water’s edge as the mirror exploded into shards. “Puppy?” Seto whispered as he arrived to Jounouchi’s side. “Jou… are you alright?” Jou groaned.

“Yeah I guess, if you don’t count the twenty litres of water that I
Swallowed,” he coughed. The brunette wrapped the cloak that he wore around the half exposed blonde before the two searched for Yugi and Mokuba.

“Jou?” Yugi whispered in concern when the two finally found him and Mokuba in the dungeon.

“I’m fine Yugi.”

“Oh thank goodness,” sighed the tri colour headed boy, hugging the blonde before handing him the felt hat with a slight blush on his face. Jou plopped the hat onto his head as he tried to figure out what was wrong with the boy. He groaned as he realized that his heated desire was still raging and Yugi had gotten a face full of it. Engrossed in trying to find some way to hide his hard, on Jou didn’t notice the lustful glint in the Seto’s sapphire eyes.

“Couldn’t you have waited until ~after~ I got laid?” Jou hissed quietly so that neither Mokuba nor Yugi could hear.

“Nope, because…” Seto leaned closer into the blonde’s ear. “~I~ should be the only one allowed to pound into ~your~ ass.” he turned to speak out loud to his brother, leaving Jou speechless. “Mokuba… Come on; let’s go home.”
