Jou flopped down on his bed dialing his best friend’s number. He hadn’t had the chance to talk to his friend since he found out his father was an obsessive gambler and made a deal with some very dangerous people. “Moshi, moshi.” Yugi squeaked his voice sounding strained. “Yug’ its Jou. What’s wrong man?” He heard his friend take a deep breath and let it out slowly. “JOU! Oh my… Jou what happened where have you been?” He chuckled at the stress in his friend’s voice then sighed running a hand though his hair. “My dad was in some trouble. I had ta find a way ta help him.” His friend took a deep breath and he held his. “Jou do you need anything? You know I’d do anything to help you.” He laughed gently and looked around the green, gold and brown room that Seto and Mokuba painted. “I’ve sorted it all out Yug’. I’m in a really good place right now.” There was a solid knock on the door. “Hold on a sec. Come in.” The door opened and he grinned at Kaiba. “Dinner.” He nodded holding up his phone. “I’ll be down in a bit.” Kaiba nodded but didn’t turn or look like he was going to leave. He blinked but said nothing. “Hay Yug’ it’s dinner time I’ll call you back in a bit.” His friend said something but he clicked the phone shut sitting up to look at his new boyfriend.
Seto crossed his arms as he looked at the blond whose large golden eyes peered at him with an intensity he didn’t expect. “Need something else?” He opened his mouth then closed it thinking his words over. “Jou if you don’t mind I’d like for you to call me Seto.” The blond grinned and bounded up wrapping one arm around his. “Sure thing Seto. Let’s eat I’m starving.” He nodded and let the blond drag him down the hall then down the stairs. Mokuba was already in the dinning room and looked up as they strolled in. “Hay guys.” He nodded taking a seat.
Jou took his seat and was surprised when a person came over and asked him what he wanted to drink. He looked at the lady for a moment not sure what to do. “Milk, please.” The lady bowed and nodded but Seto stalled her before she left the room. “Please bring some glasses and something for us to toast with.” The lady bowed and rushed out. He looked to Seto who was busy cutting some bread. His stomach gave a small rumble at the thought of food. The bread was silently handed over to him as milk and an empty glass appeared before him. He nodded a small thanks to the maid who was already pouring a rosy colored bubbly liquid into the glass. The sweet smell of berries filled the room. “Seto it’s not alcoholic is it?” He asked thinking of his father suddenly. “Hardly. It’s sparkling cider. You don’t actually think I would severe my little brother alcohol do you? Any way I don’t believe in serving any one alcohol. I do serve it at dinner parties for my older gusts but I saw what it can do to a man so other than for gusts or cooking its strictly forbidden form this house.” He let out a relieved sigh and smiled gratefully. “I’ve seen what it does to a person and I refuse to touch the stuff. Thank you.” The brunet nodded and held up his glass. “I purpose a toast to new friends and to freedom.” He nodded and gently clinked glasses with the other two at the table then took a gulp of the sweet berry flavored cider.
Seto sat back as he finished eating listening to Jou and Mokuba talk. Dinner was filled with pleasant conversation and everything was so calming. “Hay Seto, can I have my friends over tomorrow? We will most likely just hang out and play games or watch movies.” He nodded looking at the blond. “I told you that your friends are welcome. Just keep them out of my room and my office. Also keep them from Mokuba’s room unless he invites them in. Make sure the thief and the psycho don’t steal anything and I’ll have no problem with them being over.” Jou smiled at him clearly trying to suppress his chuckles. He gave Jou a quizzical look and the blond burst into giggles. “Bakura and Malik do have names you know.” He nodded tanking a small sip of water. “I am well aware of the fact that they have names and their names are thief and psycho.” Jou started to laugh so hard he had to hold his side. Mokuba giggled softly and he even found himself hiding a smile. Jou was a good addition to their house. He just hoped the blond would one day return his feelings, even if hope was for weak fools.
