Title: More than Words
Pairing: (main) Kaiser/Ryo (Zane) and Judai (Jaden) (appearances by: Kaiba/Jou)
Other Characters: Sho (Syrus), Hayato (Chumley), Asuka (Alexis), Manjyome (Chazz), Cronos-sensei (Dr. Crowler)
Warnings: Yaoi, somewhat of an Alternate Universe
Setting: Duel Academy (main) and various places in Domino City
Misc: This is my very first fic involving GX characters. So bear with me and wish me well!
Chapter 3: Triangle
Judai suddenly breaks the kiss and hops up.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to! And then in front of two of the best duelists in the world! This is so embarrassing!!” rattles Judai.
“Nah Judai, we don’t mind.” Jounouchi-sama says as he and Kaiba-sama look as if they could be naked and having sex with each other at the drop of a dime.
“Jounouchi-sama…Kaiba-sama…I won’t tell anyone that you two are lovers.” Judai says softly.
Woah, so he did know…or maybe it just hit him…
“My feelings about Ryo? I mean Kaiser…it’s confusing, complicated…”
“Judai…” I say walk to him and holding him from behind. He then leans against my body. “I didn’t mean to be so aggressive.”
“No, Kaiser. That’s ok.” He whispers.
“Call me Ryo.”
“Call me Yuki, Ryo.”
“This reminds me so much of the two of us, eh Seto…minus the inu insults.”
Kaiba-sama laughs before he and his lover kiss.
“So, I guess we can call this official between the two of you?” asks Kaiba-sama.
The two of us smile nervously, but don’t say anything.
“Meet me by the lighthouse in two hours Yuki.” I whisper as I nuzzle into his mane.
He nods and slowly walks to the door and opens it and closes it behind him. I turn around to look out the window as Yuki walks back onto the dance floor and is bombarded by Sho, Misawa, Asuka, and Hayato.
“Reminds me so much of Katsu-chan and I. Now if you would excuse us, that is, unless you want a show.” Kaiba-sama says as I notice him and Jounouchi-sama topless once again and kissing each other.
I bow before the two before leaving the room myself. I walk down the stairs and out the door into the ballroom. I grab some punch and a few finger sandwiches before quietly making my exit.
I take the elevator to the ground floor before walking outside past Ra Yellow and Osiris Red dorms to the pier.
When I get there, I sit in one of my favorite spots and look at my reflection in the moonlit waters.
This has been a weird night so far. First, I find a ‘secret’ doorway that leads to Kaiba-sama’s private room. Then to learn that he is gay and in love with his ‘arch-rival’, Jounouchi Katsuya-sama. The two of them know about my true feelings towards Yuki and then they bring him up to where we are. To top it all off, the icing on this odd cake is that Yuki and I kissed.
“Yuki, where do we go from here?” I ask myself.
After another hour or so of asking myself that question repeatedly and building on it…I think I know what I need to say to Yuki.
“Ryo?”
I jump a bit and stand up to see Yuki walking slowly towards me.
“Yuki, I didn’t think that you would come.”
“Yea, well, I’m full of surprises, aren’t I?” he says laughing nervously.
“Yuki, I’ll just come right out and tell you this.”
He walks close enough to lean on me and I wrap my arms lovingly around him.
“I’ve fallen in love with you Yuki. I want to be with you.” He doesn’t say anything; he just wraps his arms around my body. “No matter what Yuki. I don’t care what anyone says, just as long as you and I can be together.”
“Shhh.” I lean back a little to look into his confused, scared face. “I…don’t think this will work between us. I mean maybe it will, but I don’t want to take that risk.”
“Risk? What Risk?”
“Ryo…I do care for you and all…”
“So, what’s the problem?” I ask interrupting him.
“You know as well as I do that this will never work.”
“What do you mean Yuki?!”
Dammit! Stop making this harder than it has to be!!
“You’re the high and mighty Obelisk Blue and I’m just the lowly Osiris Red… ‘Dropout boy’. We come from two different worlds, traveled two different paths.”
“So, what does that matter?”
He pauses for a moment, as if to finish a thought. “I don’t know actually.” He says scratching his head and laughing nervously.
“Yuki, why can’t you just accept your feelings for me?”
“When I find that answer, I’ll send you a memo.”
“I can wait for you Yuki.”
“See, that’s the problem.”
“What is?”
“You’re most likely going to move on to Pro League.
“That doesn’t mean that we can’t be together now.”
“Listen Ryo…I know you’re thinking there’s something between us…especially after that kiss. It was just spur of the moment.”
“So, you really don’t care for me Yuki? I figured as much. Most likely you may be fooling around with Sho. What I wouldn’t give to be in his shoes…”
“Wow, Sho would love to hear that the invincible, incredible Kaiser Ryo yearns for something he has!”
I don’t know what comes over me as I pull Yuki into another kiss. He accepts me only for a brief moment before pushing me back, away from him.
“Yuki…”
“Ryo…I’m sorry…It just can’t be between us.”
“You still haven’t given me a damn good reason Yuki!”
“I love Asuka, ok.”
I gasp…not knowing he was…somewhat straight. No, that’s only to hide, to mask his true self.
“It’s amazing the infinite triangle we’re involved in.” He looks at me as if I’ve sprouted heads everywhere. “I’m in love with you, chasing after a somewhat unreachable target. You’re the same way with Asuka and Asuka’s the same way with me. The three of us, loving people it seems like we wouldn’t have a chance in Hades with.”
“I used to think that you and Asuka were an item.”
“She’s my best friend here at Duel Academy. My sexual preference does not include her.”
“It includes me, I guess.”
“Exactly. Your preference is me Yuki.” He opens his mouth to say something, but quickly shuts it. “I can tell by the way you kissed me a few hours ago, even by the way your mouth accepted mine a few minutes ago. We yearn for each other, lust for each other, so…”
“So what?” he says interrupting me. “Let’s just make this a fairy-tale and get together? I don’t think so. I’m out of here. See you around, Kaiser.”
He leaves me alone on the pier as I watch him as far as I could, before he disappears from sight. I sit on the edge of the pier once again and listen as the clock inside the lighthouse tower rings three times, signaling it’s 3am.
“I guess I should be headed back to my room.”
