Hi everyone! This is my first multichapter story! So read if you want but I don’t promise lemons until much later! Or some sparsely scattered, but I want them to act like someone wanting a real relationship and not someone who goes bed-hopping every night! Hahaha!

Hold Me Down
Chapter 1: Orientation


"Oh my gosh! I'm gonna be late for orientation!" thought Syrus as he heads off towards the gym of his new school. In such a rush, he fails to notice the sudden bump in the road. Syrus braces himself for the oncoming pain but nothing seemed came. Then as he opens his eyes, which he doesn't remember closing, he notices that someone has gotten a hold of him.

"You okay there?"

"Um... yeah, thanks, but I'm really late for orientation so I gotta go..."

"You're welcome, just be careful next time ok." The two looked up all of a sudden and their eyes finally meet which startled the two to a halt. A few more seconds passed before the silence passed.

"Uh, mister, you could let go now."

"Sorry about that, but I’d rather you call me Jaden than mister," however, he still had a hold on Syrus' arms and was reluctant to let go though he couldn’t understand why.

"Oh... ok." In that instant, the bell rang and this forced Syrus back to his initial goal.

"Oh my! I'm laaate!" Syrus yells as he forces his arms out of Jaden's hold and quickly heads off to find the gym. Meanwhile, Jaden was left looking at Syrus' retreating back with a smile on his face as one word pops into his head, 'cute.'

Meanwhile, another figure passes by and puts Jaden back on track to reality, "Yo! Jaden! We've still got that orientation to go to."

"That’s right! Alright, let’s go!"

"Hey private, over here!"

"Oh hi Hassleberry. Why is there just a few of us?" Looking around, Syrus noticed that there was barely any students around so he began to worry that they missed orientation or something.

"That's because we're about an hour early."

"Huh? I could have sworn I was late. I heard the bell ring and-"

"That was the one hour warning. There'd be another after every quarter coz this orientation is supposed to determine in which dorm they're supposed to put us in so they give everyone enough time to get here."

"So you mean I could have slept a little more? (whines)" The pair sat themselves down at the bleachers and waited for the time that orientation is supposed to start. The two talked about how they had each spent their summers, and time seemed to have flown away when the two did not notice when the students started filing in and quickly filling up the entire gym.

"Good morning children. I am your Chancellor Sheppard. Today, each student shall receive their first duel disk and each shall have a number assigned to them. Then you will be participating in a mock battle with the school's upperclassmen. Your score determines your dorm and your color vest. Now please fall in line and get your disks and your numbers." After about a half-hour wait, Hassleberry and Syrus got their disks and their number and are only a couple more duels away until theirs starts. Nervously, the two waited for their turn and could not wait until they find out who they're up against.

"Let's do our best! okay... Sy?"

"Ummm, ya I guess, I hope we end up at the same dorm so we can room together." With that thought in their head, they got their confidence back and are psyched for their first mock duel. In a mere moment, both Hassleberry and Syrus had their numbers called out and they went to their respective spots.

"Good luck Sarge!"

"Ditto private!" As Syrus turned towards his proctor, Syrus was surprised that it was the same boy that saved him from tripping that same morning.

"Jaden?"

"Yup, the one and only! Oh, it's you, I hope you do your best coz I'm not going easy on you."

"I actually didn't expect you to go easy on me but let's both do our best!"

"Umm, would you mind if I asked your name before we begin coz you know mine and I don't know yours."

"It's Syrus Truesdale, but call me Sy!"

"Okay...game on!"

With the duel coming to a close, Jaden has 200 life points left and Syrus still has 2600 life points. Syrus has one trap card on the field active but no monsters on the field and it's Jaden's turn.

"You did good Sy! But not good enough!" First, Jaden uses Monster Reborn to take Syrus's Jinzo from his Graveyard to negate the trap card Syrus has on the field. Then he uses the Miracle Fusion spell card to fuse Burstinatrix and Avian in the graveyard to summon Flame Wingman. "Jinzo and Flame Wingman finish off Sy's last life points!" As their duel ended, they suddenly notice that the whole stadium is looking at them since they had the most intense duel and everyone seems to have been long done. Just then, Crowler decided to speak up saying that the orientation is now over and they will receive their colored vests in a few hours along with their dorm rooms and their roommates in after another half an hour wait.

"Hey Sy!"

"So how was your duel Hassleberry?"

"I did well I think... coz I almost won."

"Me too!... I lost my duel with Jaden though."

"You mean Jaden Yuki? As in 2-time duel academy champion since he started here 2 years ago!"

"Huh? Who’re you talking about?"

"You dueled Jaden and almost won and you still don't know who you dueled with."

"You were there, you must have seen him too then."

"Nah, I was down in the dumps so I wasn’t really paying attention."

"Thanks Sarge, I feel loved."

"Definitely, hehehe... you know I still love you, honey*!" Then Hassleberry pulled Syrus into a tight hug thoroughly giving off the wrong indications to those around them. Jaden decided to drop by with Chazz and Chumley to talk to the short blue-haired boy, but instead got a scene shocking him and had him thinking if the bluenette and the other other guy were an item.

"Sy!" With Jaden were to other boys who Syrus did not recognize.

"Oh Hi Jay!"

"What's with the sudden pet name, dork!"

"Sorry about him, that's Chazz he's always like that, and by the way, that's Chumley right there too."

"Sup!" With Chazz's interest piqued at the friends' position, he just had to ask.

"So is he your boyfriend?" Then Syrus turned as red as a tomato trying to explain that he and Hassleberry were just friends and that they've been friends since forever. None of them noticed the sudden relief that crossed Jaden's face due to the fact that the sudden announcement of their mock test results were done and everyone was supposed to get back to the gym lines and receive their new colored vests and their dorm room numbers and roommates.

"We'll see you guys later!" Syrus waved him goodbye before he and Hassleberry ran back to the gym and get their vests and everything else.

"That was the guy I dueled, that Chumley guy, he's good! He beat my dino deck!"

"Hehehe... I lost with my machine deck too, but we'll get them next time!"

"Yeah! And let's hope that we're roomies Sy!"

"Yeah!" They rushed in line and got their stuff quickly.

"I'm in Obelisk Blue Sy! which dorm are you in?"

"Obelisk Blue! Oh my! Guess who I'm rooming with?"

"Who?" At that time, Syrus failed to notice Jaden approaching as he yelled out...

"JADEN!!!"
