Title: More than Words
Pairing: (main) Kaiser/Ryo (Zane) and Judai (Jaden) (appearances by: Kaiba/Jou)
Other Characters: Sho (Syrus), Hayato (Chumley), Asuka (Alexis), Manjyome (Chazz), Cronos-sensei (Dr. Crowler)

Setting: Duel Academy (main) and various places in Domino City
Misc: This is my very first fic involving GX characters. So bear with me and wish me well!
Chapter 2: Masquerade
It’s Saturday…the day of the black and white masquerade ball. Why did I let Asuka talk me into going?
I stand before my body-length mirror, observing my black tuxedo with tail, adjusting the collar of my white silk dress shirt with black silk tire, and finally leaning over to wipe an invincible speck of dust from my black dress shoes. I’ve decided to pull my hair back into a ponytail because I think it makes me look older and a bit sexier.
*knock, knock* “Kaiser, are you ready?” Asuka says as she slowly opens the door. I notice her hair is in spiral curls and she has on a long, black, glittery gown. It has no sleeves and hardly covers her breast line. The dress is very tight-fitting, completed with a pair of black stiletto shoes.
“Ready?” she asks.
“Yea, I guess.” I say doing some final adjustments to my tie.
We leave the room and take the elevator from the 6th floor to the 4th floor ballrooms.
“Kaiser, I heard that Seto Kaiba will be attending.”
“Yea right Asuka. Kaiba-kun has a million other things to do than to be here.”
The elevator door opens and we walk down the hall to the brown double doors.
“Good evening Kaiser, Asuka.” Cronous-sensei says as he opens the door. “Here are your masks.”
We take the masks and put them over our eyes.
“We now welcome Kaiser Ryo and Tenjoin Asuka!” Cronous yells into his microphone.
As the doors fully open, it seems as if everything has come to complete standstill. Even the DJ has stopped playing to watch Asuka and I enter.
We receive a lot of defeated, agitated, and annoyed stares as many of the other students think that Asuka and I are an item.
Heh, we’re not even holding hands.
Asuka quickly scurries towards the left side of the room next to her roommates.
The music finally starts back and everyone goes back to either dancing or talking. Mostly talking. I spot a quiet area behind one of the large speakers and make a b-line directly towards it.
When I get there, I take notice of the dim lights and the streamers flowing from every direction. The disco light hanging from the ceiling flashes different colored light all over the room.
“Judai…” I find myself muttering as I see him, Sho, Hayato, Misawa, Asuka, and a few others dancing to the upbeat music.
His tux is perfectly tailored to fit his developing frame. I can tell he spent a few extra moments on his shiny, reddish-brown mane.
“Well, well, well. The great Kaiser couldn’t find someone to dance with.”
“Manjyome, I prefer being here.”
“How about I ask Asuka to join you?”
“No thanks.” I say walking past him and into the nearest door.
Where am I?? I look at the stairwell before me and begin to ascend the stairs to another door.
“’Private – K.J.’ What does that mean?”
I put my ear to the door and hear two males laughing and talking. I also hear the loud music from the ball.
I rest my hand on the door knob, not knowing that it was going to turn with me stumbling into the door and seeing two topless men.
“Forgive me!” I say as I quickly try to excuse myself from their private affair.
“Wait, Kaiser.” A deep, cold voice says.
I stop mid-stride and turn myself around, keeping my eyes closed.
“Hai?”
“Come here. Shut the door and lock it behind you.”
I gulp and slowly feel my way into the music-filled room.
“Open your eyes Kaiser.” A peppy voice says.
I slowly open my eyes and see them…
“Jounouchi-sama! Kaiba-sama! Please forgive my intrusion! I’m so honored to meet you two in person!”
Ryo! Pull yourself together and stop all this absent-minded babbling! You’re starting to act like him…
“The two of us have been watching you a lot lately.” Begins Kaiba. “We have noticed things about you.”
“I’m honored that out of your prestigious academy that you would watch me.”
I watch as Kaiba-sama grabs Jounouchi-sama and kisses him…right in front of me! No one would ever believe this!! But then again, I’m not bold enough to dare say something of this caliber!
“Our secret is out, eh koi?” Jounouchi-sama says as he reluctantly breaks the kiss.
Koi? Lover…
“I guess so, Katsu-chan. But there’s one more secret we know.”
The two of them look at me. “What is it?” I ask cautiously.
“We know that…” Jounouchi-sama says as he walks towards me and winks. “…you are handsome.”
I feel a slight blush come over my skin.
“If I was a few years younger… Hey!”
Kaiba-sama pulls Jounouchi-sama back by the band of his pants.
“If you was a few years younger, then what?”
“Ahhh, nothing…” he replies nervously.
“Kaiser, please forgive my handsome, incompetent, hormone-driven inu. He means you no harm. Are we making you uncomfortable? Please, sit.” Kaiba-sama says as he points to a recliner near the sofa.
I walk over to it and sit on it as the two relax very close to each other on the sofa. They put their shirts back on.
“You’re smart enough, Kaiser. You’ve already figured that we are gay and we do love each other despite what precedes us.” Kaiba-sama says.
I nod slowly; sort of afraid of what is going to happen to me, especially since I’ve wandered into a very private and personal area of Kaiba-sama.
But they act as if they don’t care about my presence or me knowing. All of their flirtations are showing how fresh and young their love is.
“After 9 years, how can I not get enough of my koi?” Jou says as he softly kisses Kaiba’s neck.
Nine years. That’s much longer than I would have ever thought.
“But we’ve figured that you like someone here at Duel Academy.” He continues as he playfully pushes Jounouchi-sama away.
“But it’s not a girl!” Jounouchi-sama says as he waves his index finger.
How could they have found out about that?!
“He is quite the looker, Ryo.” Kaiba says as he presses a button on a remote and the shade lifts to reveal the ballroom. “Don’t worry. No one can see us in here.”
I look out the window and the first person I see is none other than Yuki.
“Ryo, you remind me so much of…me when I started to fall in love with Katsu-chan, 9 years ago. Why don’t you just come right out and tell Judai Yuki how you feel?”
“I…just can’t.” I reply, still staring at the love of my life as he slow dances with Asuka.
“It looks as if your lover is straight.” Jounouchi-sama says pointing to Judai.
“Let’s find out.” Kaiba-sama says as he presses a button. “Izono, please retrieve Judai Yuki.”
“Hai.” I hear a voice from the speakers.
Why is he doing this?! Does he want for me and Judai to be like he and Jounouchi-sama?
I watch as a man whispers into Judai’s ear. He has a shocked, excited look on his face before walking into the door I just walked through.
Jounouchi-sama and Kaiba-sama try to look as ‘normal’ as possible as Judai knocks on the door.
“He’s quite the feisty one, eh Kaiser?” Jounouchi-sama says as he walks to the door and opens it.
“That’s like the kettle calling the pot black.” Kaiba-sama says as I notice Judai standing, staring at Jounouch-sama.
“Wow, I must be dreaming! Can I have your autograph? A picture? Something to remember the moment that the best friend of the King of Games is standing before me!”
A rather loud ‘Ahem’ is heard.
Judai peeks around Jounouchi-sama.
“Wow! Kaiba-sama is here too! And even Kaiser! Pinch me! I’m dreaming!!”
Jounouchi-sama steps to the side and allows Judai in to act the way I wanted to act earlier.
“Wow! I can’t believe this! This is my lucky day!! I can’t wait to tell Sho, Asuka, and Hayato about this! I’ll tell Misawa and Manjyome just to make them jealous!”
“Welcome, Judai Yuki.” Kaiba-sama says. “Have a seat next to Kaiser.”
Judai looks silently at me for a moment before suddenly shaking his head and blushing a little. He leisurely walks to the black leather sofa and sits on the end further away from me.
“Is everything ok Judai?” asks Jounouchi-sama as he sits next to Kaiba-sama, but not as close as before.
“We’ve been watching you Judai. We know your secret.” Says Kaiba-sama.
“Secret?” Judai says as he laughs nervously. “What secret?”
“Well, we have a secret too that Kaiser learned a few minutes ago.” Replies Kaiba-sama.
“Sweet! And you’re going to tell me too?” asks Judai.
“In exchange.”
“For what?”
“The truth from you.”
“What truth? I didn’t do anything.”
“We’ve been watching you, especially since you defeated Cronous-sensei. Don’t forget about that duel against Misawa.”
“What about it?”
“Afterwards when you talked to Ryo.”
“Ryo???” Judai says taking a rest from the conversation between him and Kaiba-sama. He looks at me and smiles. “Oh! You mean Kaiser. I sometimes forget that Ryo is his real name.”
“What do you think of Ryo?” asks Jounouchi-sama. “I have a few things I can…”
Jounouchi-sama is forced to stop as Kaiba-sama’s hand is over his mouth.
I see in a way that we are like Kaiba-sama and Jounouchi-sama. Judai is more like the hyper, happy-go-lucky Jounouchi-sama and I’m more like the cold, yet powerful Kaiba-sama.
“You have a few things like what?” asks Yuki
“Well, if you insist…OW!” He rubs his forearm in the spot where Kaiba-sama pinched him “Ok, I won’t say it.”
“I thought that the two of you were huge rivals. What happened?” asks Judai as he is oblivious to that the two are actually lovers.
“That’s not important Judai.” Begins Kaiba-sama as he playfully tussles with Jounouchi-sama. “I want to know what you think of Ryo.”
“Bakura-kun? He has a great yami deck.”
The three of us look at Judai…
“Not Ryou, Ryo. The one sitting next to you.” Jounouchi-sama says as he leans against Kaiba-sama as he wraps his arms around him.
Judai looks at me and smiles nervously as a pinkish hue outlines his face. He looks…good enough to kiss.
I don’t know what drives me to outline the features of his face with the back of my hand; to hold his face and bring it closer to mine as our lips meet hesitantly at first, then aggressively, each other needing to get a deeper taste of the other.
If this kiss with Yuki is a dream, I never want to wake up!
