A Year With You

Yugi grinned at his friend as Jou walked into the school with a huge grin on Monday morning. He moved over to his friend, eager to hear about the date. “So I take it the date went well?” Jou nodded, his smile growing a little wider. “Oh Yug’ it was fantastic! Kentaro redid part of the restaurant so it was all soft and white just like a winter wonderland. Then the food was all little tidbits we could feed one another. The food was also amazing! Oh my gosh, and the others did so well. Seto looked so fucking HOT! Oh he let me French kiss him and he was so sweet and shy when I first tried because he had never been French kissed before. It is unbelievably great kissing him. But after the date when we were at home I went to go talk to him and saw him in the shower. Oh Yug’ he is stunning. He’s so incredibly beautiful. Yug’ I love him.” Tears filled his eyes for Jou’s happiness. His best friend gave him a puzzled look and he scrubbed at his eyes. “I’m just really happy for you, Jou. You deserve to be happy.” Jou put him in a head lock ruffling his hair. “Ah Yug’ you make everything so mushy. But I am happy. Seto is really…” He trailed off trying to find a word he hadn’t used yet.

Seto walked up behind his puppy and Yugi hearing just the tail end of the conversation. “Seto is a really big pain in your ass?” He asked gently and Jou spun with murder in his eyes. He gave his puppy a small smirk as the look of murder faded as quickly as it came. “NO! Well sometimes you can be a pain in my ass, but I was thinking perfect.” He pulled his puppy so they were a breath apart. “I think I can live with being perfect. You, puppy, are stunning. Have I told you this morning how much I love you?” Jou bypassed his question by stealing a kiss. He smiled into the kiss pulling his sweet puppy closer.

Yugi watched as Seto honestly smiled into the kiss that Jou was giving him. He grinned but felt the sudden need for Yami. He clicked a quick picture of Seto and Jou both smiling into the kiss with his phone then ran off to find Yami. He couldn’t wait to see Mokuba’s face when he showed him the picture. He smiled as he spotted his other half grabbing his hand. Yami smiled at him and he felt himself melt into the loving look. Yami gently took his phone and smiled softly. “It’s a nice picture.” He nodded and then looked up at Bakura, who was peeking over Yami’s shoulder. “Those two make me want to gag.” Ryou smiled taking the phone. “I think it’s sweet. Look at how happy Seto looks. Maybe this will help him lighten up a bit.” Malik took the phone and made gagging noises as Marik took it and sighed softly. “They really are great for one another.” Yugi nodded taking his phone back and saving the picture.

Mokuba, Nagi and Shizuka all giggled as they watched Seto and Jou make out in the middle of the hall. There were several people staring so Mokuba decided to save his brother some embarrassment and break them apart. He went over to his brother and shoved the two apart. Seto smiled at him and ruffled his hair walking off. Jou looked after his brother like a lost puppy. He shook his head and Jou grinned like a fool. “So you like my brother?” He asked rocking back on his heels. “Nah, I love your brother. Want to know the best thing?” He nodded and Jou smiled whispering into his ear. “He’s mine!” He watched with a raised brow as Jou skipped off to class.

Seto sat staring silently out the window thinking of all the things he had yet to face. He loved Jou and he wanted to give himself to the blond but…His mid wandered off to the past and he shuddered. He still remembered so vividly the things that he suffered. A hand was set on his shoulder and he was so lost in his thoughts that he jumped. He glared up at Yami who smiled at him. “Kaiba, may we talk at lunch?” He crossed his arms glaring at the ancient spirit. “Why should I talk to you? Last time I talked to you alone I got a concussion. I do not wish to repeat it.” Yami looked at him for a long while. “I don’t wish to hurt you, Kaiba. I just wish to discuss what haunts your past.” He snarled giving the ancient spirit a look of pure loathing. “My past is my business and it will stay my business. Leave me be!” His lover came over glaring at his friend.

“Something wrong, Seto?” He shook his head touching Jou’s arm gently. “No, I’m fine. Yami was just asking me if I did the math homework.” Jou gave him a puzzled look then cursed under his breath. “Shit, with the date and all, I forgot to do it. Seto can I copy?” He silently handed over his homework and pulled his puppy down for a kiss. “Jou, next time just don’t forget because I’m not letting you copy again.” Jou smiled at him and kissed him softly. “I know. But you will.” He smiled shaking his head knowing it was most likely true.

Yami waited all day to talk to Seto but the brunet vanished right after school. He decided to talk to Jou instead. “Jou, can we talk?” He asked gently and the blond looked at him then nodded slowly. “Jou, what do you know about Kaiba’s past?” Jou smiled at him and shrugged. “I know enough. The rest he’ll tell me when he’s ready. I love him so I can wait.” He watched as Jou walked off to join his lover. He knew Jou was just being naïve, he was going to help Jou by exposing Kaiba’s past and he knew just the two people to help him.

sorry sorry for the slow update but I've been busy with school and my sister's wedding and I kind of forgot. So thank Mazu for reminding me. However some bad news is that both my beta and I are in the last lap to finals meaning tons of papers and tests. Also I'm in the middle of looking for a new job and so I'm super stressed and don't have the time to devote to this story at this moment in time.

I most likely will not update again until the second week of December which is after finals. If I do update before then I cannot promise that the story will be betaed. So it might have some errors. If you are desperate for me to update I will but I will not put the extra strain on my beta reader so since this is the last beta read chapter I have the others will have mistakes. The choice is up to you but I will not promise to update every week like I was for a while. Sorry I just have too much on my plate at the moment.
