CHAP 13

Malik rolled over and opened his eyes blinking a few times and sat up rubbing his eyes, he looked next to him to find Bakura with his arm around his waist, he looked on the other side to find Marik with his arm around him and a leg over his.

He smiled but then something dawned on him ‘where‘s Ryou?’ he thought as he looked over the bed and then the room, he listened and no noise came from the bathroom.

He shook the other two awake “where’s Ryou?” he said climbing out of the bed, as Marik and Bakura pulled each other closer, and mumbled as they tried to fall back to sleep.

Malik rolled his eyes, “Ryou is gone, get up and help me look for him” he walked to the door and opened it.

Marik and Bakura sat up with wide eyes “what!” they said together and looked over at Malik.

“Ryou, he’s not here” Malik walked out the door and down the stairs with the other two just behind him.

“I don’t think he’s gone, Malik” Marik said as he stumbled a bit, Bakura put his arms out to help the other to steady himself.

“Well he wasn’t there when I woke up” Malik looked back annoyed.

They walked to the kitchen and opened the door to find Seto leaning on the counter and Ryou giggling as he cooked, he was wearing and pair of blue jeans that belonged to Malik and a black t-shirt that belonged to Bakura that was to big for him, all in all he looked cute.

The three growled at Seto as he lent in and whispered something into Ryou’s ear which only made his eyes go wide as he gasped and looked up at Seto.

Bakura snapped he couldn’t take it, and he walked over and pulled Ryou away glaring at Seto as he did this “get your own, I don’t share” he snapped not being the wake up person he was always irritable, when he woke up from any kind of sleep.

“You need to learn some self control” Seto rolled his eyes, “I wasn’t hitting on Ryou.”

“What’s the matter?” Ryou looked at him confused and then at Seto who was on the other side of the room now.

“Bakura is the jealous type,” Seto said as he walked over to them.

“But I wasn’t doing anything wrong was I?” he looked at Bakura with a worried look.

“No Ryou, Seto is known for being a slut” Bakura pulled Ryou closer to him.

“Stop it Bakura” Malik pulled Ryou away from him glaring at the same time and then looked at Ryou “what happened I woke up and you were gone”

“I was just hungry that’s all, I didn’t want to wake any of you up, so I found the kitchen myself” he kissed Malik on the cheek and went back to his cooking, “Are you hungry?” Ryou looked at them.

“Yeah we’re staved” Malik said grinning like a fool and rubbing the back of his neck. Ryou placed the food on the table and they ate, Ryou couldn’t believe that they could eat that much.

Ryou finished and got up to put his plate in the sink but was pulled down onto Marik’s lap and kissed passionately, they separated Marik smirked as Ryou was left dazed.

“We have to go out shortly Ryou” Marik said as he watched Ryou walk over to the sink.

“Oh, oh okay I guess that I will have to go home then” Ryou swallowed the lump in his throat as tears gathered in his eyes, as thoughts flooded back of what his father had done to him.

“No, Ryou you will be leaving here with us” Bakura got up and went over to Ryou trapping him at the sink putting his arms on both sides of Ryou.

“But there are so many that live here already, I don’t want to intrude on you” Ryou looked up into dark brown eyes, and bit his lip.

“You are staying here where we know you’re safe,” Malik said from the table.

“I don’t know, Yugi’s grandpa offered for me to stay there as well, and there are so many of you here as it is” he looked over to the table and then back to Bakura.

“Well if you would be more comfortable there, it’s ok with us” Marik got up from the table, and walked over to Ryou and Bakura “but you are welcome here at any time” he kissed Ryou on the forehead, Ryou nodded his head.

“We’ll take you back to Yugi’s if you like,” Malik said as he walked to the door.

Yugi woke up to find that he was laying on top of Yami, he went to get up but a sharp pain ran through his lower back and he fell back down onto Yami.

“Are you alright?” Yami had a worried look.

“I think I am” he tried to move again and the same pain was there and he cried out.

“Here I know what will help, stay here” Yami got off the bed, careful not to hurt Yugi in the process and he walked out of the room.

Yugi heard water running in the bathroom, wondering what Yami was up to he got off the bed to see, only to fall to the floor and he cried out as the pain ran up his back.

Yami ran into the room and picked up Yugi “I told you to stay on the bed” he shook his head as he carried Yugi into the bathroom.

Yami helped Yugi in the shower and got him dressed again, he laid Yugi back in bed and handed him some painkillers, he took them and was grateful that Yami was so helpful.

“I have to go now Yugi,” Yami said as he looked out the window and frowned. Yugi had a fearful feeling that Yami just may have used him for his own pleasure. “I’ll be back later though, if you don’t mind,” Yami gave him a smile.

“I would like that, but just be quite when you do my grandpa will be asleep by then” Yugi couldn’t feel more happier then he was right now, “I’ll leave my window open for you, you can climb the tree and get in that way.”

Yami lent down and kissed Yugi on the lips and then stood up “I’ll see you later” with that he left the room, as he reached the front door Malik, Ryou, Bakura and Marik stood there.

“Yami I didn’t think that you would still be here?” Ryou tilted his head to the side.

“Aaahh…. I was just leaving,” Yami blushed.

“You just got some didn’t you?” Marik gave a knowing smirked.

“It’s none of your business” Yami started getting angry.

“With Yugi to, boy Yami you sure move fast” Bakura snickered and Ryou gave him an odd look.

“We have to go, we have work to do” Yami huffed, and walked past them.

“I’ll see you tomorrow” Bakura said giving Ryou a smile as his wings folded out and lapped into the night air.

They all said their good-byes. Ryou closed the door and then lent on it, he sighed looking up the stairs, he climbed them and found Yugi in the bed looking up at ceiling.

“Hey Yugi” Ryou walked in and sat on the bed.

“Your alright, I was so worried about you” Yugi threw himself at Ryou but yelped in pain.

“I should be asking you that!” Ryou frowned at him.

“I’m fine really,” Yugi said as he sat back on the bed.

Ryou the master of hiding the pain of every day life knew that Yugi was hiding something, YEAH he was naive when it came to some things but that was his nature, “Yugi your lying to me I know” Ryou rolled his eyes.

“I…. umm really ‘like’ Yami and we where ‘fooling’ around and one thing led to ‘another,’ I really, really like him” Yugi said, he would have been jumping up and down if he wasn’t in so much pain at the time.

“You mean to say that you two, OH my” Ryou wide eyed and shocked he didn’t think Yugi was that way.

“Your not happy with what I did” Yugi had tears in his eyes Ryou was his best friend.

“No I’m happy for you, Yami is a great guy, he’ll take care of you” Ryou gave him a genuine simile.

“Umm… Ryou would you help me down stairs please” Yugi pulled back the covers and sat up he winced, which Ryou just smiled, but nodded his head and helped Yugi to where he wanted to go.

He put Yugi on the couch and turned on the t.v, after a while Yugi had dozed off to sleep.

Joey was walking through the park and the rain, not paying attention to where he was going and was grabbed by the shoulders, Joey yelped out in fright, the person that grabbed him was about to bite down on his neck

“Let him go, you scum” a cold voice came from the shadows.

“What makes you think that I would pass up a free meal” he tightened his grip on Joey who cried out.

“He is not your free meal, go find some other to feed off” he stepped out to reveal himself.

Joey looked up and gasped “Seto” he whispered, Seto was here helping him out, Joey was then thrown to the floor, when he rolled over he saw a guy in a cream rob with a turban fighting with the other.

He looked over to Seto who was chanting and the guy stopped and fell to his knees, unable to move, Seto walked up and helped Joey off the ground and pulled him into his arms, “Are you alright, he didn’t hurt you did he?” he looked Joey over.

Joey liked the feeling of being held by the other, he then pushed away from him “What do you think your doing?” Joey gave him a weary look, as if Seto had grown a few heads too many.

“I don’t want to fight now Joey, are you alright?” Seto said coldly.

“I’m fine” Joey snapped back, not liking Seto’s tone at all.

Seto shrugged and walked past him to the immobile guy on his knees “now tell us who’s doing the killings around here?” he narrowed his eyes at him.

“What, you think I’m going to tell you that?” he laughed at them.

“No, I didn’t think you would, but I know someone who can make you sing like a bird, in fact I know two” he smirked.

“I don’t care I’m not talking” he spat.
“Want is going on here?” Joey jumped up and down waving his arms about to get their attention.

“I’ll walk you home Joey, Shadi take him to the house and let the others know” Seto said as he took Joey’s hand in his and left the park.

Malik flew down into an alleyway and landed his wings vanished as if they were never there and Ishizu walked up behind him.

“We have found that a few of the killings have been in here,” she said as she looked around.

“Quite right you are my dear?” the voice had a smug tone to it.

They turned around just in time to see a ball of energy thrown at them hitting Malik in the chest, he looked up to see five others come out of the shadows and a few more energy balls thrown at him, hitting his body anywhere they could.

“There are more of us then you think, and to think that you left your mate unprotected,” he laughed.

Malik’s eyes went wide as he realized that he had left Ryou alone with Yugi, who knew what those psychos would do to his Ryou.

“We know all about them, too” the laugh echoed in the alleyway.

He pushed himself up and his wings folded out and flapped a few times, he flung himself into the air as he swooped over and grabbed Ishizu.

“You can’t fly your too injured” she closed her eyes as the ground got closer and closer, as Malik fought against the blood loss and the tiredness that was consuming him. He dropped her on a rooftop and headed for the game shop.

Ryou and Yugi awoke to the front door being pounded on, Ryou gave Yugi a concerned look as he went to answer it, as he opened it he was thrown back a few feet, as a figure stepped in the door way, she hit Ryou knocking him out and onto the floor.

“Ryou!” Yugi looked at the door, and sunk back in the couch as a girl came in with a look that told Yugi he was in trouble.

“So my young one, Yami has a soft spot for you,” she said as she walked towards Yugi.

“What do you want, who are you, what did you do to Ryou?” Yugi sank back, fear in his eyes “how do you know Yami?”

“Did you know that Yami is a demon?” she stopped and looked down at him.

“You lie, the nut house is across town lady?” Yugi said as if she were crazy. There were no such things as demons, if she thought that then she was truly crazy and probably dangerous as well.

“I don’t lie little one, he wants you to join him, to become a demon with him” She said as she crossed her arms over her chest “and by the looks, well the smell that he has already marked you as his own.”

“What are you talking about?” Yugi losing patients with the crazy lady.

“Yugi he would kill you over a meal” her eyes went into slits this one wasn’t going to be easy.
“No, no he wouldn’t do that to me,” Yugi was cut off.

“He would I can show you,” she smirked at him.

“I don’t think so” Yugi went to get up but fell back down with a yelp.

“Well time will tell which I don’t have, and you need to see anyway” she waved her hand, and a ball of light appeared in the room “You see Yugi, you and Ryou are caught up in something much bigger than yourselves.”

“You are nuts” Yugi said as he looked at the ball with interest never seeing anything like it before, and the possibility that she could be telling the truth about Yami, Yugi didn’t want to think about it, it hurt to much to think that Yami would deceive him like that.

“Let me show you Yami’s true nature,” she waved her hand over the top of the ball and an image came into focus.

Yami had a young girl by the neck and what looked like to Yugi that he was biting her neck, until he pulled back and dropped her to the floor.

At that moment Ryou stumbled into the room, holding his head with a hand and the other one on the wall to support himself as he glared at her.

“He knows what they are and he never told you,” she teased him as if he were a child that had done something wrong.

“Ryou do you know that they killed your father?” she glanced back at him.

“No they wouldn’t have done that” he narrowed his eyes at her.

“Oh but they did, do you think that three people Ryou, three people could love you and not have the jealousy thing going on at the same time?” she waved her hand as a picture came into focus of his apartment, Bakura and Marik had his father in their grasp and snapped his head sharply to the left and dropped him like a rag doll then walked out the door, “and to think that your mother had asked you to take care of him too” she shook her head but grinned.

Ryou fell to his knees, as the image faded “no they said they wouldn’t kill him, you lie, and I know that they love me” he looked up at her.

“Why do you two persist that I’m lying to you?” she growled, her face taking on a dark look, she picked up the remote, and turned on the t.v as the reporter had shown a picture of Ryou’s father and said that he was dead and that he had been drained of blood.

“See that they did do it” she had a triumph smirk on her lips “they don’t love Ryou just like Yami doesn’t love Yugi, YOUR! Food to them that’s all.”

“Take your crystal ball, your lies and get out” Ryou screamed the last part at her, he had snapped he wasn’t going to listen to the lies anymore pointing to the door to emphasize his point for her to leave, she flinched and Yugi as well, he had never heard Ryou raise his voice before.

“I can’t unless, I have you though” as she said this the front door busted open and Malik came in, wounded and bleeding, he lent on the wall for support, Ryou gasped at seeing him like that, and his tears fell, Yugi’s eyes grew in amazement at Malik, and the truth that she had said was true.

“Mai you hag, what are you doing here?” Malik coughed out, blood ran out of the corner of his mouth.

“I’m here on business Malik, I could ask you the same thing?” she shrugged and turned to look at him “Malik you look bad, but good at the same time” she grabbed Ryou by the arm as he tried to ran past her and twisted it painfully behind his back.

Malik growled as Ryou cried out in pain, “do you know that I used to be with them” she whispered in Ryou’s ear looking at Malik, “Oh Malik I do miss the fun, you and the other two on those cold nights” Ryou closed his eyes and bowed his head, not wanting to hear any more as tears fell from his eyes at her words.

“We wouldn’t touch you,” Malik coughed again and blood fell from his mouth as he gave her a disgusting look, Ryou called out to Malik and tried to brake free from her hold on him.

Mai pulled out a knife and held it to Ryou’s neck he stopped his struggling, “tell me, do you love him, Ryou?” Ryou nodded his head “Yes” he whispered looking at Malik.

“Let him go, this is between you and me Mai” Malik said fear eating away at him, as Ryou remained in her clutches, she could take his life at anytime.

“Well Malik lets see how loved you are by the other two, when I take Ryou with me and you well never see him again,” she waved her hand and Yugi disappeared, then Ryou.

“You have two days to find them, before we turn them into vampires” she laughed as she disappeared, Malik lunged at her but fell to the floor.

“RYOU!” Malik screamed up to the heavens as if it would bring him back, tears fell down his face he had lost Ryou, he then fell back to the floor unconscious.
