Chapter 11: Day Six

Nothing…happened…. Nothing at all happened between Yuki and I. After we finished exploring the contents of the basket, we put everything away and he went back to his own room.

He looks the complete opposite of what Yuki and I have been seeing of him this past week.

“Welcome all to Kaiba Corporation. As you may know, my name is Jounouchi Katsuya.” Once again, the girls scream as he sends his trademark smile their way. “You all make me wish I was born about 5 years later so I can be here with you all!”

The screaming and the occasional ‘I love you Jounouchi-sama!’ is getting on my nerves…

“When I’m not dueling in the KC Pro-League, this is where I work. I’m the Public Relations manager for Kaiba Corporation. Today, my boss, Kaiba-kun has asked me to be the tour guide of this company. Along the way we will see various divisions of the company, including the Duel Monsters Division, Duel Disk Division, Testing Division, and at the end there may be a surprise visit by Kaiba-kun himself.”

Most of the girls scream again, not knowing that Kaiba and his PR Manager are actually lovers and no way would any one of them have a chance in Hades with them.

During most of the tour, Yuki and I walk together and we take in the sights of the company as we get to watch the workers having fun with the games.

“A special thing about Kaiba Corporation is that is one of two companies that have legal rights to manufacture Duel Monsters Cards. The other company is Industrial Illusions, which is owned by the creator of the game, Pegasus J. Crawford.”

We are taken to a room that Jou-sama says is one of Kaiba-sama’s personal favorites, the Deck Analysis room.

“In this room, you are able to get expert deck analysis. This is what you do. First, you take your deck and insert it into the analysis pod. It will give you a rating of your deck, 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. The rating is based on strength, strategy, balance, and construction. After that, you can choose to do a simulation duel between any of the top duelists in the world. To find a specific duelist, then you can either type their name, or choose from the list. The listing of duelists is those who have competed once in a KC Pro-League Tournament or Tour game. Now, I would like for Kaiser Ryo-kun to step forward please.”

Why is he calling on me??

A path seems to open up as all eyes are on me. I walk up next to Jou-sama and take out my deck.

“Place it in the pod, please.” He says.

I put my deck into the pod and it closes around my deck. Jou-sama then presses the ‘Analyze’ button. After about 30 seconds of scanning, my grade of a 9.7 is displayed.

“Nice deck Kaiser-san. 9.7 is a great score. I see that your theme is ‘Cyber-Dragon’. Kaiba-kun would love your deck.”

I press the ‘Simulation’ button and choose ‘Kaiba Seto’ from the list.

“Hmm, it seems as if that Kaiser-kun wants to challenge the CEO himself.”

A quickened simulation duel is shown on the display screen before it shows me losing all my life points. I do another simulation duel and this time I choose, ‘Mutou Yugi.’

“This time, he wants to go against the King of Games!” yells Jou.

The duel shows me quickly losing to him in about 3 turns.

“I’ll do one more.” I say looking at Jou-sama.

“Oh? Who will you do the simulation against?”

“You.” I say choosing ‘Jounouchi Katsuya’ from the list.

“Well, it looks as if Kaiser-kun wants to go against my deck.” He says nervously.

I press the start button and the simulation goes on until it ends in a tie. I hear Jou-sama sigh next to me. It would be a little embarrassing for him to lose a simulation to a non-pro student.

“Now you see how it works. There are over a hundred ports in this room, pick one and have fun!”

Everyone quickly runs past Jou and I to an analysis port. I continue to do simulations against other top duelists, such as Kujaku Mai, Vivian Wong, Rebecca Hopkins, Bakura Ryo, and Marik Ishtar.

At the top of the duelist list, I notice ‘KGYM’. No way is that Yuki in KC Pro-League! I do three simulations against him and lose each time. His deck is a modified version of the King of Games Deck that we saw at the island.

“So, how are you doing with the simulation duels Ryo?”

I look and see my Yuki standing next to me.

“Check this out Yuki.”

I exit out the simulation and start the simulation again. A hidden name at the top of the list: KGYM. “That’s the Yuki that we met at Kaiba Land.”

“No way!” exclaims Yuki. “He told us that he hasn’t dueled in a while and now his name tops a KC Pro-League list as the top duelist?!”

“Like I was saying the other day, could he be the King of Games? Maybe KGYM really means ‘King of Games, Yugi Mutou’. He trounced me in Mortal Kombat yesterday and matched me step for step at DDR.”

“I noticed that a lot of the games in the arcade had ‘KGYM’ and ‘Yugi’ on the leader boards. We should go and check it out after we leave here.” Suggest Yuki.

Yuki and I continue to play around with the Analyst Port, playing against every duelist on the list. Some we easily defeat, other we tie, and the rest we just lose horribly to.

“Excuse me, Kaiser-kun, Judai-kun, please follow me.”

We look up and see a security guard.

I look at Yuki the moment he looks at me. What could we have done?!

“Excuse me; I don’t think you have the right guys. We didn’t do anything.” Yells Yuki.

“My orders were to escort you. I don’t question my orders, I just follow them. Now come on!”

“Nii-sama, aniki! What did you do?!” whines Sho.

We follow the guard out of the development and testing area and to the elevator. The elevator finally stops on the 30th floor. When the door opens, a large office is revealed.

“Here they are at your request, Kaiba-sama.” The guard says before the elevator door closes.

“Come here.” Kaiba-sama’s voice thunders through the room. We walk down the small hallway and to the open space. Directly in front of us is a large oak desk and an oversized chair is turned away from us. Behind the desk is a large window that overlooks most of the eastern part of Domino City. On either side of the desk are Blue-Eyes White Dragons. The bookshelf lining the left wall is filled to the hilt with books and a white briefcase. On the right is an oversized sofa and a couple doors. Neither door has any writing on it, just a picture of Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

The chair finally spins around and Kaiba-sama is well dressed today. He has on a white tailored business suit with white tie and a blue shirt. (AN: Ok, I won’t say Blue…White…Blue-Eyes White Dragon… hehehe)

“Gheez, what is the problem with you two?” he says in a rather annoyed voice.

“What do you mean?” asks Yuki.

“I give you everything needed to make it work and you don’t make it work. What’s the hold up?”

“It is working; Kaiba-sama, but we would rather take this at our own pace.” I answer.

“So, the basket, did you even think about exploring it? How else can you learn if you don’t experiment? Find out what each of you like and apply it.”

How did he know about that?

“As for Yuki, he is an up and coming duelist in KC Pro-League. He loves to interact with other duelists, especially those his age. So Judai Yuki, you have nothing to worry about. That man fell in love with you the first day you came to the academy.”

Kaiba-sama starts laughing his trademark laugh before looking at us.

We get up and shower once again before thanking Kaiba and Jou and then leaving for Kaiba Hotel.
