Chapter 10: The True Unbreakable Bond
The doctors successfully perform the amputation on Yugi. He lost
most of his legs to just above his knee.
"Will he recover?" Yami asks.
"It's hard to say. He needs blood though. His body isn't producing
enough to make up for all that he has lost."
Yami sighs.
'I...don't know what o. Ao. According to the doctors, you only have
about 6 more hours to live. I wish they could be the best six hours
of your life.'
The doctors leave and after a while, Kaiba, Jou, and Mrs. Mutou
come back in.
"Where's everyone else?" Yami asks.
"Outside. Kura and Ri were threatening to get into a Yami no Game.
So, they went outside to settle it." Jou says.
Yami looks sadly at Yugi. The doctor comes in.
"I have some bad news."
"What is it?" Yami says.
"We've gotten a response from every hospital we sent the blood
request to and they don't have it. They've never even heard of his
type."
"I wish I could help, but my blood is A." Mrs. Mutou says.
"I have AB." Kaiba says.
"I have O type. Can that help?!" Jou asks.
"No. He can only recieve the same type he has or his body will
reject it." The doctor says.
"Try me." Yami says.
"What type do you have sir?"
"I don't know...I've never been tested."
The doctor sig"Any"Anything's worth a try."
He goes to a cabinet and gathers the necessary materials. He
pinches Yami's thumb and gathers the blood near the tip. The
doctor sticks a needle in, piercing his skin. The blood flows
and the doctor puts some into a small vile. Then he puts a bandage
on his thumb.
"There. That's more than enough. I'll go to the blood lab and
have this tested immediately."
"How long will the results take?" Mrs. Mutou asks.
"About 5 to 10 minutes. It would be quicker, but there's so
much that we have to compare to Yugi's blood. If there is one
element slightly different in the two, then we can't use it. I
will be right back." The doctor say as he runs out the door.
'Please let me be a match...'
Yami feels a hand on his shoulder. He turns around to see Jou
standing behind him.
"It'll be ok. Yugi will live. He's too tough to die here. Just believe
that he will live."
Yami nods.
A while latere doe doctor runs through the door. They look to see
that he has a large grin on his face.
"Is he?" Mrs. Mutou says.
"Yes! A perfect match!! We need to do this immediately. If he
doesn't get enough blood in his body in the next..." He pauses to
look at his watch. "...hour, then he will die."
A minute later, a nurse with a large machine comes into the room
and a doctor comes in with a bed.
"I'm sorry, but we need to have everyone to leave for a while."
Kaibou, ou, and Mrs. Mutou leave the room once again as the
doctors proceed in putting Yami into a hospital gown and getting
him ready for the transfusion.
After the machines are attached to the two, the doctor sits and
observe the two closely. The door opens and a nurse comes in.
She walks to Yami who is looking kind of woozy. Mrs. Mutou
comes in and stands next to Yami.
"Sir, I just need to ask you a few questions." the nurse tells Yami.
"Oh...tay." Yami says smiling at the nurse.
"What is your name?"
"Atem. Yami. Whatever."
"His name is Atem Mutou." Mrs. Mutou says.
"Birthdate?"
"June 4, 2996 b.c."
The lady looks at Yami weirdly.
"It's the medicine miss. He was born in 1980."
"Ok, then..." the nurse says.
"Parents?"
"Sakana and Masanori Mutou." Mrs. Mutou says before
Yami has a chance to open his mouth.
"You know...mmmuufff..." Yami begins as Mrs. Mutou covers
his mouth.
"That must be some strong medicine you gave him." Mrs. Mutou
says as she holds Yami's mouth.
The nurse asks more questions and Yami answers them...then Mrs.
Mutou gives a more logical answer. She leaves to go and create
his file for records.
A few minutes later, everyone comes back in.
"How are they?" Ryou asks.
"I don't know yet. The doctor should be here in a minute." Mrs.
Mutou replies.
"Ooo...looky at all my friends..." Yami blurts out, then laughs.
"Woah...are those pain relievers THAT strong to have him acting
like that?" Jou says.
"The last time I saw the Pharaoh this spacey was during the Valentine's
Day party after Ri and Kura spiked the punch twice." Malik says as
he look at his other self.
"Seeth...you're a...cutie. Can I have Katsuya?" Yami blurts out laughing.
Jou blushes a little and Kaiba stares daggers at him.
"It's the medicine Seto." Jou reminds Kaiba.
"That's all it better be." Kaiba replies.
"I love you all! Especially you and you and you." Yami says as he
points to everyone in the room.
"If you think he's bad now, just imagine the gs hgs he said while
the nurse was asking him questions." Mrs. Mutou says.
"I can only imagine." Ryou says.
"Nite nite...friends...okaa-san..." Yami says as his eyes close.
Everyone leaves and goes to the lobby except for Mrs. Mutou,
Kaiba, and Jou.
About an hour or so later, the doctor returns. He looks at the
monitors and writes some things down on a clipboard.
"How is my son?" Mrs. Mutou asks.
"It seems as if he's starting to recover nicely. Everything is looking
great. If it wasn't for his brother here, then Yugi would be no longer
here. I'm wondering something though Mrs. Mutou...I looked at your
records and saw that Yugi is your only son. Now, tell me, how is Atem
here his twin brother?"
"Long story doctor. He was...abandoned. And since he looked so much
like Yugi, my husband and I took him in. He's been raised next to Yugi,
almost like his twin brother." she replies nervously.
"Oh...ok." the doctor says. "Yugi is stable enough to survive the night.
I will return in the morning to see how he is doing. There will be nurses
who will come and check up on him throughout the night. Oyasuminasai."
"Oyasuminasai." Mrs. Mutou, Jou, and Kaiba say. (AN: That's Good Night)
"I'll go and tell everyone what's going on." Jou says standing and
walking out the door.
The door opens soon after Jou leaves.
"Back so soon i..nu..." Kaiba says as he looks up and sees a strange man
in the door.
"Sakana...how's Yugi?"
Mrs. Mutou turns around and looks at the man standing in the door.
"Ma...Masanori!"

(AN: Please don't take the blood types, the birth years, or Yugi's parents
first names seriously. I made those up. Yugi's birthday is June 4, so I used
it as Yami's birthdate also.)

'I...don't know what o. Ao. According to the doctors, you only have
about 6 more hours to live. I wish they could be the best six hours
of your life.'
The doctors leave and after a while, Kaiba, Jou, and Mrs. Mutou
come back in.
"Where's everyone else?" Yami asks.
