Umi no kaze-Seabreeze

Aaarrrghh,

I cant believe Im doing this! Damn writers block, how could you do this to
me?!? Sob, I cant believe I actually wrote a Yu-Gi-Oh! story, I only
hope, it wont turn into a habit, sob, sob!

Oh well, since its written, I can just aswell put it up for you to read-enjoy!

Btw, since the German synchronization totally screwed up the names. Here a little Whos
who:

Yugi Muutou-same

Jounouchi Katsuya-Joey Wheeler

Hiroto Honda-Tristan Taylor

Marko Tsunami-same(I think)

Ryuji Otogi- Duke Devlin

Kawai Shizuka-Serenity Wheeler

Bakura Ryou-Bakura

I think thats all, since Im not too fond of the series(as if you couldnt have
guessed), I apologize in advance if I mixed up names. Now, on with the read.

Disclaimer:
I dont own Joey, Yu-Gi-Oh! or any other characters appearing in this fic. I
also dont wish to.

Reviews: Uh, sure, but only if you want me to continue this story...

Archive: Sure. Like I care. Just tell me.

1. 19 hrs. left

He was bored and nervous.

Due to Mareks interference and Bakuras inexplainable participation, Kaiba had delayed the Battle City Finals for another 24 hours.

So after rehearsing every single card, monster, move, tactic and ability, both Yugi and
Mai had plopped down on their respective beds, exhausted. Tristan, Tea, Serenity soon followed suit, leaving Joey alone with his deck.

Thats why
he had decided to take a walk in the city, hoping the night air would clear his mind.

Just as he neared a corner, he heard panting and running steps coming closer.

He paused, idly wondering who might be jogging at this obnoxious hour, when the mysterious runner rounded the corner and collided headalong with him.

Yeowch! exclaimed Joey, as he landed soundly on his behind, hey, watch it, pal!

Im sorry, I didnt see you the-Joey? Wheeler stopped his rambling, and gaped into the all too familiar face of the speaker.

Ma-Marko?

He what?!? screamed Joey furiously. Marko Tsunami sighed.

Knocked me out, stole my deck and took off. When I came around, all I could remember were a shock of slime-green hairs and Weevils mean laughter.

Joey boiled with rage.

That no-good, low-live, bastard son-of-a-bitch! When I get my hands on him, Im gonna strangle him, until his eyes pop out! Im gonna turn that little two-tongued scum into a smear on the sidewalk! Stomp him like the worthless roach he his!

Tsunami watched Joeys antics with mild surprise. The blond took this rather serious.

Waiting patiently, until the shorter teen took a moment to catch his breath, he asked:

Why are you so upset about this? I mean, after all, its my deck he stole, not yours.
Joey blinked a few times, before muttering:

Huh?
Smirking, Marko tried again:

I understand that you dont like Weevil, and that you are concerned about me, but why are you freaking out about this? I mean, its not like we wouldnt get along normally, but still..Why do you care this much?

Joey gulped nervously.

Why?

Why.

Uhmm, because..He shifted uncomfortably, suddenly finding the sidewalk rather interesting. Marko nudged him lightly, causing Joey to look straight into his face.

Because?

Because- Joey paused, seeing his reflection in Tsunamis blue-grey eyes.

Because I want to protect you. Because I dont want anything bad happen to you. I want to know, how it feels, to hold you in my arms. I want to feel your hair brushing my face, as you rest your head on my shoulder. I want to loose myself in those beautiful eyes of yours, those eyes, that resemble the ocean on a windy day.
I want to hear you whisper my name when you lay next to me, and want to unravel the beauty of your spirit.

For a split-second, Marko thought he saw something in the blond teens eyes, but it
passed too quickly, for him to be sure it was ever there. Taking a deep breath,
Joey faced the ground again.

Because you are one of the most honourable, cunning and fairest contestants Ive ever
faced. Weevil is the kind of person, who should never have never been allowed near a DuelDisc, or anything to do with DuelMonsters. Hes a manipulative, cheating, unworthy coward, and Im sick and tired of him always causing trouble.
His clenched fist shook with barely controlled rage.

Slowly, Joey managed to shake off his anger, and, with a forced smile, turned towards
Marko.

Tell ya what, how about we call it a night, and first thing tomorrow morning, we round
up my folks and go look for that little slimeball. The finals arent up until eightp.m., and Im sure, my friends would love to help ya out!

Markos face fell, as he shook his head.

I cant, he stated calmly. Joey frowned.

"Whatcha mean by that? Of course you can! Just go catch some shut-eye, and meet me and the gang at-

I cant go back to the hotel, because Weevil took my purse, too! And I cant go back to my boat either, because all my registration and ownership papers for the boat were in there, as well! Why else do you think Im running through the town like a barracuda on the chase?!?

For a moment, all was quiet, except for Markos ragged breathing, and then Joey heard
himself saying:

You can stay at my room. The sailors head snapped up.

Huh? Giving his widest grin, Joey continued:

Come on, its just one night, and if you let me hit Weevil once, were even, kay?

Markos look of disbelief slowly made way to a small, but genuine smile.

Laughing, Joey rubbed his head and careened:

Yeah, I hear that all the time, but then, what else to excpect from Joey Wheeler?

Placing one hand on the taller mans shoulder, he steered them towards his hotel.

Well, thats that, for now. Tell me, how you like it, and I might continue
