Lost Souls

Prologue

Yuugi walks down a pure marble hallway dressed in a pair of worn pants and a soft cotton shirt, the standard uniform for servants of the planet of Mars. His skin is marred with scars from the beatings he has gotten for no reason.

Yuugi sighs and stops infront of a ruby door with the Mars Insignia on it outlined in black onyx. He knocks and lowers his head, so his chin is touching his collarbone.

"Come in." says a girl's voice. Yuugi opens the door, keeping his head bowed, and shuts it behind him.

"Princess," starts Yuugi swallowing silently. He can feel six pairs of eyes on him. "I have a-"

He is stopped when the door is flung open, causing him to sail through the air onto someone's lap. Yuugi quickly scrambles off, knowing the penalty for falling on a royal.

"Father." says the girl to the man now standing in the doorway. Yuugi whimpers softly.

"You. Servant. Come." says the man to Yuugi.

"Y-yes your H-hi-highness." says Yuugi stammering.

"Excuse me, but I was talking to him." says another female's voice, with anger in it.

"Too bad Princess Minako, but he has a job to be done, now." says the man.

Yuugi dares to look into the room and gasps mentally. In the room is Princess Rei of Mars, but that doesn't surprise him as this is her private room for friends and family. What caused him to gasp is the man in front of him, the most gorgeous man he has ever seen. The man has spiky black hair with tips of them red. Yellow lines are in each spike, and the man's bangs are yellow. He is wearing a shirt made of buckles, blue pants, a blue jacket, and a chain is around his neck. He has red eyes, which are looking angrily at the man in the doorway. (1)

Yuugi looks around the room through half closed eyes and sees four more girls beside Princess Rei. The first girl he lights upon is Princess Ami of Mercury. She is dressed in a slender ice blue gown that lightly clings to her curves. It is ankle length and is a solid ice blue color. Ice blue sandals are on her feet and they glimmer with sapphires. Her clear blue eyes are filled with remorse and her ice blue short hair is held back by two sapphire studded combs.

The second girl is Princess Makoto of Jupiter. She is dressed in a forest green, floor length gown that accents ALL of her curves. Faintly, Yuugi can see forest green high heels are on her feet. Her emerald green eyes are full of hatred for someone. Her chestnut brown hair is held back in a ponytail by a emerald band. Rose earrings are on her ears.

The third girl is Princess Minako of Venus. She is dressed in a yellow gown that tightly clings to her. It is knee length and yellow high heels are on her feet. A red ribbon holds her yellow hair back and topaz earrings are in her ears. Her clear blue eyes show she is deeply troubled.

The fourth girl is Princess Rei of Mars herself. For the first time, Yuugi looks
at her clearly. Rei is dressed in a red shimmery gown that is ankle length. She has red flats on her feet and a ruby necklace is around her neck. Her black hair is loose and her purple eyes show no emotion at all. The gown lightly accents her curves.

The fifth and last girl causes Yuugi to nearly gasp in surprise. It is the Moon Princess herself, the next in line for the throne of the Silver Millennuim and the Moon, Princess Serenity. She has long blonde hair done up in pigtails with a rounded odango at each end. Her clear blue eyes show she is compassionate and fair. She is dressed in a long flowing white gown made of silk. Gold circles are at the top of the gown and golden pearls are underneath her breasts in a line going all the way around. A lilac bow in attached to the back where the golden circles and pearls slant downwards to mid back length. The bow is long and flowing and touches the ground. Glass shoes are on her feet, and the dress is multi layered. She is hidden by shadows being cast by the candles in the room.

"I won't repeat myself again slave! Come!" barks the king. Yuugi closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before walking onwards.

"Father. He was about to tell me something before you decidedly barged in my rooms." says Princess Rei standing up.

"He can tell you later." says the King of Mars.

"Excuse me, King Ares, how come whenever he goes with you, the next month or so, he is limping?" asks Princess Ami.

'Princess, you are an idiot!! Now all you are going to do is make him madder, which in turn will make him beat me harder!' thinks Yuugi scared out of his mind. 'Last time the King was really mad, he broke my left leg in five pieces and only the quick thinking of the Queen and skilled Martian doctors repaired my leg so I could walk the next day!' Unknown to Yuugi, the man in the room, and Princess Serenity could hear his thoughts. (2)

"None of your business, Princess Ami." says the King grabbing Yuugi around his arm hard. Yuugi involuntarily cries out in pain. The King lets go and Yuugi sinks to the floor, clutching his arm with his right hand. Tears are leaking out silently.

"King Ares of Mars. I hereby place you under arrest for breaking rule 958.5, which clearly states that no one may harm a servant AT ALL and that any punishment is my mother's job to do, not yours." says Princess Serenity standing and walking out of the shadows.

"Princess Serenity!!" says King Ares is horror. The man kneels next to Yuugi and lifts him effortlessly.

"Will he be fine, Yami?" asks Serenity turning to the man and Yuugi.

"If we get him to Mother, yes." says the man identified as Yami.

"PRINCE YAMI?! But...you... died!!" gasps King Ares. Yami places Yuugi on a chair next to Minako.

"No...I was living on Earth..." says Yami in confusion. Princess Minako places her hand on Yuugi's unijured arm, hoping to bring ort ort and to everyone's surprise, a soft yellow glowing appears on Yuugi's forehead. A symbol appears on his forehead, steadily glowing. It is a circle attached to a line. The circle is at the bottom of the line, and the line goes up a bit. At a point, another line is going across the line with the circle. At the points of the line going across, two half circles, facing opposite ways, are there. (3)

"You are..." gasps Rei dropping in her chair as King Ares drops to the floor. Since Ami, Makoto, and Minako are already sitting, they don't drop. Only Serenity and Yami seem unaffected.

"Just as She said." says Serenity.

"Ares, holding a Prince hostage is high treason, and punishable by death." says Yami turning to Ares.

"I didn't know...." says Ares, "I didn't know."

"Yuugi, look at me." says Serenity. Yuugi doesn't move his eyes.

"He has the poor child scared to death." says Makoto.

"And you probably aren't helping him." says Minako.

"You think?" asks Makoto.

"Yeah." says Minako.

"Hey!! Cheater!!" says Makoto.

"Am not." says Minako.

"Are too!" says Makoto.

"Neither one of you are helping." says Ami.

"Someone contact Haruka immediately!! Also, contact my mother and tell her
we need her." says Serenity.

"On it." says Ami, Makoto, and Minako. They grin at each other and run out, leaving Serenity, Yami, Yuugi, Rei, and Ares.

"Yuugi. Look at me. Do not worry about King Ares, as he cannot hurt you anymore." says Yami calmly.

"You've changed Yami." says Serenity.

"Don't say that, You'll scare him." says Yami.

"Oops. Ignore what I just said." says Serenity. Yuugi tentively looks at Yami and Serenity before cringing and remembering it is illegal for a non-royal to look upon a royal. He lowers his head again.

"Damn. Okay Ares, what is wrong with him, wait, what did YOU do to him?" asks Serenity. Rei walks over.

"Serenity, let me try." says Rei.

"Go ahead. Maybe he'll trust you more." says Serenity.

"Yuugi. Come on, look at me." says Rei. Yuugi does, knowing he will be punished if he disobeys.

"Don't look at me because of what my father has told you. Look at me of your own free will." says Rei. Yuugi still looks at her, but his eyes change from being full of fright, to being somewhat happy.

"Serenity? Are you allright?" asks her mother, Queen Serenity walking in.

"Yes mother." says Serenity. Yuugi immediately lowers his head and keeps it
lowered, not daring to even look at the Queen.

"Mother, King Ares have been beating his servant, and we just found out he's a prince of Uranus," says Yami standing. Yuugi, getting to trust only Yami, hides somewhat behind him.

"I think Yuugi trusts you Yami." says Serenity.

"At least he's trusting someone." says Rei. "He never talks to anyone and I always see him with the royal animals."

"King Ares, did you know Yuugi was the Crown Prince of Uranus?" asks Queen Serenity.

"No." says King Ares. His voice speaks truth, but his eyes speak of lies.

"You lie!" says Serenity. "I can see it in your eyes."

"Yuugi, did you know you are a prince?" asks Queen Serenity.

"No, Queen." says Yuugi in a whisper.

"Mother, the Prince of Uranus has been missing since he was barely three. I don't think he would remember." says Serenity.

"Got her!" declares Minako walking in with Makoto, Ami, and a female. The female has short blonde hair cut in a boyish hairstyle. A navy blue dress is on her, slightly accenting her curves and navy blue shoes are on her feet. Her blue eyes speak of recognition as she sees Yuugi.

"Y..Y..Yuugi?!" asks the female.

"Do you know this boy Princess Haruka of Uranus?" asks Queen Sery.

"Yes, he's my baby brother!! He went missing when he was just three and we thought he died in the fire of our castle!!" says Haruka. "I'd recognize him anywhere because of his hair!"

"He could've forgot because of that. Trauma can cause people to forget." says Rei.

"True." says Serenity.

"Yuugi, yuugi, WAKEUP!!" yells Ares.

1-In pictures I have of Yami and of Yuugi, Yami's hair is either purple or red, and same for Yuugi. For the purpose of this fic, Yuugi's hair will be purple and Yami's, red.

2-I made this up, because I very seriously doubt there was any beating of ANY kind during the Silver Millennuim.

3-This is the Uranus Insignia, so if i didn't do a good job of describing it. Sorry
