Well, I must admit this is...strange, but a most interesting take on the 'yami/hikari' concept. Atemu a duel monster. Did I miss something in reading it, or are the wings just something you came up with, not pertinent to the plot? I still like it. Yami's description sounds wicked hot. Poor Yugi! How could his friends abandon him? Surely they wouldn't actually! Please continue, I want to know all about what you're going to do with a Duel Monster Yami, a lonely and suicidal Yugi, and whatever else you've got cooking up! Jaa.

Hey! (No I'm not my sister ;-) I'm writing as Sinful Mercury) I like your story (also I think that the sucidal Yugi was kind of gross cause normally Yugi is so vivid or shy but never this negativ. He is more positive and loves all kinds of life (his own included:) and people.
I have sooooooooooo many ideas in my head (and mostly I do nothing with them or I help other people (e.g. my sis) by being their creative brain *grin*. I think I could have some Ideas for you too!
Your warrior is the "namless pharaoh" right? Why not traveling to Egypt? Trying to protect a secret the pharaoh has taken with him into his tomp (maybe the reason why he came back as a card -->to protect the light that shields dark powers (Yugi :) or to protect the part of his soul/ soul mate? or there is an ancient weepon in the tomp . . .?
If you don't like that than maybe they travel to Egypt because the testament of Yugis grandpa was left there to be given to Yugi when he lives up to the age of . . . (there could be a mystery or an inheritance for him or something like his ancestors are relatet to Egypt nobels . . . something that will change his live and enlarge his need of his companion :)
Maybe in a museum there will be a exhibition of the things found in Atemus tomp? Memorys? Fears? Pain by seeing things of his past live?
Yugi could be beaten (know that's not nice but if it helps the story)because he is different from normal so his dark card has to save him. (Yugi could feel protected, get angry or he could fear his new found friend)
Or Yugi have plans for expansion (biger shop . . .) so he will have much work and stress Atemu could help him (relax?)
Yugi could come compftable with Atemu and than there will be the others (for holidays? finished studying) so will there be the need of Yugi to have Atemu around? Will the others accept how Yugi has changed?
That have been some ideas if the right one wasn't in: I'm sorry but I have more:-)
