Well, I have to admit I was avoiding this stroy for a long time because of the blurb -I'd read too many fanfics where Seto gets to dominate Jou. But I decided, what the hell - and boy am I glad I did.
You are one hell of a writer. I knew by the end of the second chapter that I was going to love this one. You have an excellent grasp on both of the characters, and their foilabes. You make them human without being weak, but not super-strong either. Excellent, excellent characterization.
The writing is crisp ans descriptive without being overly wordy. Also excellent - I find this style particulary appealing. The story has a great deal of depth and plot - and you kept it from becoming overly angsty, for which I particularly thank you. The other thing I really liked is that you didn't have the angst in the relationship between Seto and Jou, but the relationship between Jou and his father. It's different, and a nice touch. I also liked how they don't immediately solve all their problems, and if they make mistakes, at least they are thinking about what they are doing; the mistake coming from the wrong premise for their logic.
And most of all, THANK YOU for not making Jou stupid, as he is in far, far too many fanfictions.
Please continue writing, and I think I'll go check out your other stuff!
