Shades of the Past

Shades of the Past

~*~

Ancient Egypt. 5000 years ago. A place where gods wre all-powerful, and magic was not an un-common thing. It was the 7th dynesty and the great Pharaoh Yami ruled over all. At his side were his top advisors, Ry'ou and Ot'ogi and his trusted High Priest, Seth.

Seth.

Seth was a mysterious person.

He kept mostly to himself and only answered to the Pharaoh, though he did not like him. But...he did like...*her*

Everyday he'd watch her pass in through the throne room, complain to her brother and leave. He found her quite amusing.

The Pharaoh's sister.

A desert rose amoung others. Her beauty swept through him and he felt his heart wrench everytime she was near. He wanted to ravage her more then anything. But she was the princess. Forbidden.

Yes, amoung anything else, she was forbidden to his hands.

And he hated that.

Katsu'yaa'ra stamped a tiny little foot as her dark eyes blazed, glaring at her brother. "But Yami, I miss our sister! Why can't I go see Serre're'te, she's just in the next kingdom.." she pouted, her long blond hair swirling with her movements as the fitted white wrap clung to her curves. Her dark eyes were outlined with kohl, her lips full and kissable as her diadem, marking her as the Pharaoh's sister, glittered in the torchlight.

Seth's eyes swept over her, shining at her beauty. He'd do this frequently--watch her silently--and he wished his could even just speak to her. But he never had or gave the time of day.

Yami sighed, "No, you could be badly hurt, there are robbers and other dangers in the desert and even going a few miles could be futile. Absolutely not."

Katsu'yaa'ra pouted, giving her best puppy dog impression. "Big brother...please? I haven't seen Serre're'te for months, she'll be bonded soon to her betrothed, and I'll have missed out on my little sister's big day! I'm all cooped up in the palace, I want to see something new.."

"No, not unless someone goes with you, and we are all to busy to take you anywhere," Yami reasoned.

tualtually...your majesty..." Seth murmured.

Yami looked at him, his eyes shining with confusion.

"My brother is busy with his studies and I have no other tasks, I will be able to take her...if that suits you, princess." Seth looked at her.

Yami also looked at her, trying to read her eyes. He trusted his priest, but not when it came to his sister. He stared back at his priest, seeing the shining in the blue eyes that he'd never seen before.

Katsu'yaa'ra blinked in surprise at Seth, then clasped slim tiny little hands together, positively beaming at him as her features spread into a lovely smile. "That would be wonderful, High Priest, I would appreciate it very much.." she replied, fairly glowing at the thought with a delighted blush.

Seth smirked, "Alright then, it's settled."

Yami rolled his crimson eyes, and stared hard at his little sister. He stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "Fine, you may go," Yami eyed his priest, "And if anything happens to her, I will hold you completely responsible."

Katsu'yaa'ra rolled her own dark eyes as she put her hands on her hips. "You act like I can't take care of myself, brother, I'm not some dainty maiden. What do you think all these years of training with the defense master has been for, I've taken all the lessons to heart!"

"I understand, dear sister, but it is my job to tend to you. I just don't want to see you get hurt." Yami spoke softly, and sincerely.

Seth let his eyes travel over the princess, ‘And I definitely do not want to see such a beautiful creature hurt.’ How long had it been since he'd first seen her? The former Pharaoh had just died and she'd been sitting in the thrown room, a sad expression adorning her face. But she was not crying. Seth knew, then, that she was a strong woman. And quite beautiful. And he lusted for her. Every moment of his existence, he lusted for her. Or, did he feel more then lust? But it wasn't love he felt. Just....a tangible something.

Kats'yaa'ra sighed and hugged Yami. "You know I can't stay angry at you, dear brother, you've taken such good care of me.." she murmured, her long golden hair trailing past her hips. "I know you care..and I love you for it.." she winked, and giggled. "But you know how stubborn I can be."

"Yes, and I love you, as well, Kats'yaa'ra," He hugged her back and glanced at Seth, "Now, go on, I'll give you a few days with our sister, but you must return by the end of the week, agreed?" Yami told her.

The tiny blonde nodded eagerly, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "I will, I promise. Don't worry about me, Yami, I'm in capable hands." She smiled at Seth.

Seth tried to hold back a blush, but his cheeks became a small shade of red.

"I believe you, sister." Yami murmured, "Now go on, have fun, say hello to our sister and tell her I love her."

"I will, brother, thank you!" Katsu'yaa'ra beamed, her sandaled feet skipping happily as she left for her room to pack up a few things, then paused, shyly kissing Seth's cheek. "Thank you very much, High Priest.." she murmured, then smiled at him again before becoming a blur of gold and white as she left the room.

Seth's cheeks flared up now. Gods, how could he let himself sink so deep? But he let his fingers trail his cheek, which tingled a bit, and a small smile crept over his features.

"Quite a sister you have, majesty..." he murmured

"Yes she grows on you..." Yami began, "You just...can't live with her....and can't live without her."

Seth nodded.

Humming to herself, Katsu'yaa'ra fashioned her hair behind her ears with a butterfly clip, then stowed her one parcel under her arm--she wasn't one to bring everything with her--and pulled a flame-red silk scarf around her head to protect herself from the harsh rays of the sun, then skipped back out of her room and came to a stop before Seth eagerly like a little puppy, her eyes shining. "I'm ready to go!" she chirped happily.

Seth blinked and nodded, "Alright then. Come, we will ready the horses." Seth gestured her to follow him, and began to stride out of the palace, toward the stables. He glanced back every so often to see if she was still following him and once they reached the stables, he opened the little wooden gate door for her, "Ladies first."

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and giggled quietly before stepping into the stables, going to her favorite steed, a shining palomino filly she'd named Sherezade. "Hello, love, miss me?" she murmured, stroking the golden and white horse's nose affectionately.

Seth watched her. He always watched her. He wished it were he that she'd been talking to, "C-come now..I'll help you mount." he walked over to her, putting his hands on her waist. His breathing became a little more shallow, but he did not make it to noticable. He lifted her, gently, onto the horse and let out the breath, he hadn't been aware he'd been holding.

"Oh..!" Katsu'yaa'ra squeaked, feeling light as a feather in the High Priest's arms, blushing as she glanced at him in surprise, blushing as she arranged the folds of her clothing. "Th-thank you, High Priest.." she murmured softly as her cheeks tinted pink.

Seth gave a tiny smile. Something he rarely did for anyone. He nodded, "You are welcome, highness." He mounted his own horse, and tapped its sides with his foot, and it began to trott out of the stables, "Come, follow me, we should be there by sunset."

Katsu'yaa'ra nodded and clucked to Sherezade, flicking the reins lightly as she followed after Seth, keeping abreast of him easily.

Seth glanced back at her. Her beautiful face looked even more radiant in sunlight. He sighed and turned away, his head down. He wished he could just hold her, if just for a moment. But why wish for such a fanciful thing? He knew a relationship with her would never be so, so why bother with even wishing? He sighed again and continued toward the next kingdom, with the vague thought that his obsession was following not to far behind.

Katsu'yaa'ra cocked her head at the sigh heard from the High Priest, and trotted closer, pulling her horse alongside his. "High Priest? Is something troubling you?" she asked softly in concern, golden hair fluttering behind her in the breeze along with the silken garments she wore.

"What? Oh, no, I am fine, majesty." Seto gave her a sad yet reassuring smile, "Just fine." He glanced forward again, for he knew if he stared at her to long, he'd become entranced and begin to wish for what he could not have, again.

She cocked her head curiously. "Something troubles you. I may not know you as well as my brother, but I've never seen you look so sad.." she murmured softly. "Pardon me for nosing in, I just want to help..somehow..I liked that little smile on your face, I wanted to see it again.." she blushed and looked down shyly.

Seth looked at her, giving her another small smile, "You are quite special." Seth tensed, hearing what he had said, "I mean, as in, you are one of few to have ever seen my smile."

"Really?" She smiled again, a small dimple appearing in her cheek. "I know your brother sees your smile. You must love him greatly."

"I do." Seth murmured, "He is all I have...and sometimes I'm a bit lonely, but I've overcome that, since." He finished, glancing at her.

Katsu'yaa'ra cocked her head at him, eyes twinkling with contentment. "I know the feeling. Even with Yami and my sister..I feel lonely as well, sometimes.." she pushed back a tendril of hair from her eyes. "I see Yami with his little lover, and it makes me wish I had one as well. Serre're'te has Hyonna, Yami has Yugi..." she giggled sheepishly. "Looks like I'm the odd one out.."

"Yes, and even my little brother is becoming more interested in relationships, I'm afraid I won't be able to help him when he finds someone, because I have never been in a relationship of my own." Seth sighed, "Hes growing up to fast, I need a catch up."

Katsu'yaa'ra giggled. "They always grow up too fast, no matter how much you want them to remain babies..Serre're'te isn't that much older than your brother, and she's being bonded.." she sighed and shook her head, then canted her head. "You've never been in a relationship? At *all*? But...you're intelligent, bold, handsome.." she blushed again. "Any girl would be lucky to have your attentions."

"I suppose, I've just never found the right one..." Seth hesitated, "But there is one person...young woman...though she's forbidden to me." Seth closed his eyes, "Though, I watch her like a hawk." Seth gave another small smile, "Shes gorgeous."

Katsu'yaa'ra smiled, although her heart felt a twinge of jealousy for the lucky girl. "I'm glad you have your eye on someone. Forbidden, hm? Well, if the emotions are true, then nothing will stop you from being with her." she murmured helpfully. "If she feels the same for you, then you should act on it, Ra damn forbidden or no."

Seth looked at her, "I think you are right." Seth saw the sun begin to fall and the kingdom ahead. He kicked the horse, lightly, going from a trott to a canter, "We're almost there, majesty."

Katsu'yaa'ra nodded kne kneed Sherezade to follow, her hair trailing behind her like a golden river as she leaned close to the horse.

Once they were in the kingdom limits, Seth pulled on the reins of his horse, dismounting and waiting for the princess to catch up. He held tied the reins to a post and leaned against his horse, and his expression was pensive.

Katsu'yaa'ra followed soon after and hopped off gracefully, taking Sherezade's reins in her hand and tying her to the post before patting her neck. She noted his expression and frowned lightly in concern. "High Priest..?"

Seth was brought from his thoughts, and looked at her, "Sorry, I was lost in thought again, wasn't I?"

"Only a little.." she giggled softly. "Happens to the best of us.."

Seth shrugged, "Come on, lets go find this sister of yours..." Seth began to walk beside her. It became quiet and Seth broke the silence, "So...um...are you interested in anyone? I mean, I'd though maybe you and Ot'ogi were together, he's always watching you....hungrily..." Seth cringed.

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest as she grumbled. "No, I'm not involved with him, and I don't care to be, that smarmy attitude makes me so mad at him..." she seethed quietly, then stamped a foot for a moment before calming down. "The man doesn't know how to take no for an answer..I haven't found the right man, and I don't want it to be him.."

"So you are not interested in anyone?" Seth asked, Not even me, he wanted to say, but was to afraid to muster the words.

She twiddled her fingers as she looked at him from underneath her lashes. "Like I said..I haven't found the right one..but if they came along..."

Seth frowned, ‘She's not interested...and for a second I thought I had a chance.’ Seth's expression became blank and cold, "Come on, we have to find your sister."

Katsu'yaa'ra blinked, startled into stopping for a moment as she stared at him. What caused that cold stare to fall over those warm features..? He was interested in someone, right..? So why the interest in her? She frowned at him in confusion, then followed after him.

Seth turned toward her, his eyes still icy and cold, "Look, I do not know where your sister lives, you lead." He stopped and waited for her to head in front of him.

Katsu'yaa'ra squeaked lightly in surprise, then nodded, glancing down as she headed ahead of him. 'What did I say wrong? He looks so cold, now..'

Seth followed her. Damn myself for ever thinking she could have an interest in me. She wouldn't give up her own freedom just for me. Some lonely, cold priest who has nothing to offer her. Damn. Seto cringed. He wanted so much for Katsu'yaa'ra to even say she liked him, not love, just some kind of spark.

Katsu'yaa'ra had no earthly idea what she'd said or hadn't said, only knew that she'd upset him somehow. The petite blond--to Seth's standards, but her sister was shorter--led the way to where her sister lived, and had a reunion, but felt bad somehow, saddened that she'd hurt the High Priest.

At a small celebration of her sister's upcoming bonding, that evening, she wandered out onto the balcony, studying the full pearl-white moon hanging in the sky, and sighed. 'Why am I still so troubled? Why did his face haunt me so? I'm glad to see my sister...but sad at the same time..and no idea what to do about it..'

Seth traveled onto the balcony, taking off his outermost robe, and draping it over the young blonde's shoulders, "You shouldn't be out in this cold, you will fall ill, majesty." He murmured. She'd looked quite troubled, "Are you alright, highness?"

Katsu'yaa'ra gasped softly in surprise at the presence of the person she was just thinking about, then blushed as she turned her head to him. "High Priest..did..I say something to offend you?" she asked softly, nuzzling gratefully into the warm robe. "You seemed..angry earlier, and I know I had something to do with it...I admit, I know very little of men, only from my brother, your brother and you, so...if I said something.."

Seth sighed, "I've just had alot on my mind..." Seth came over and stood beside her, "I did not mean to trouble you, princess, please forgive me."

"Of course." the blond murmured. "But...when you spoke of my interests in others, a suitor, it was then you became upset..I'm not quite sure I follow, I mean.." She co a l a lock of blond hair nervously around her finger as she gazed up at the tall brunette. "Why would you be upset about that? You had someone you were interested in, didn't you?"

Seth laughed, "Gorgeous and dense." He said quietly. He turned toward her, bringing a finger up to her face, and stroking her cheek, delicately.

"I'm not.." Katsu'yaa'ra was about to bristle and protest being called dense when she squeaked lightly at the soft touch against her cheek, dark eyes widening as she blushed furiously, shivering and leaning into the touch with a look of shock. "M...me..?" she squeaked again.

"Yes." He said, shortly. He leaned down, brushing his lips to hers, lightly, "Yes..." He said again, running his hands down her shoulders.

Katsu'yaa'ra shivered, blushing again at the contact of lips against lips, her eyes fluttering shut as she leaned into him with a sound of surprise, delight and pleasure rolled into one.

Seth brought an arm around her, pulling her closer, "Katsu'yaa'ra, you are my infatuation...my desire....my obsession."

Tiny hands resting against his chest, Katsu'yaa'ra blushed, opening her eyes to gaze at him in stunned awe, hardly daring to believe that someone as wonderful as the High Priest would have an interest in her. She reached up shyly and trailed her fingertips over his lips, biting hers nervously as she asked with her eyes for another kiss.

Seth grinned, "As you wish." He leaned down and kissed her again, pulling her tightly against him. He run his hands up and down her backside.

Katsu'yaa'ra squeaked, then moaned softly, melting into him as her arms wrapped around his neck, kissing him back as she leaned into him.

Seth broke off, "We can't..." Seth stared down at her, though he did not draw his arms from around her.

Katsu'yaa'ra opened her eyes slowly, blushing as she gazed up at him dazedly. "Why...why not?" she managed to get out.

"It would not be right, I'm here to protect you, not to take your essence away from you." Seth ran his hands up and down her back, still, not wanting to let her go.

"You're protecting me.." she whispered. She'd never felt more protected in her life. "If this...is about that forbidden thing..then take my words from earlier about that to heart."

Seth sighed, "You are right." Seth picked her up and brought her into the house, "Just don't tell your brother."

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and nodded, nuzzling against him. "I won't.." she murmured softly, wrapping her arms more securely around his neck.

Seth traveled into the room that had been given as a guest room to them, and laid her on the bed.

He glanced at her, "Are you sure about this?"

She sat up on her elbows, blushed and smiled at him before grabbing hold of his robes and pulling him down for another kiss. It felt...right, somehow, to do this..

Seth kissed her back, his arms wrapping tightly around her, and he began to strip her. He pulled off the robe he'd given her and then began to untie the threads holding her dress on. What he felt for her was beyond anything he'd felt for anyone before. He didn't want to hurt her or move to fast. He stopped and asked again, "Are you sure about this?"

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and nodded, her chest rising up and down rapidly as she breathed in and out excitedly, watching him as her golden hair fanned out around her. "I am...Seth..." she whispered.

"You're beautiful, Katsu'yaa'ra, and I do not want to hurt you." Seth stared at her, "Ever."

She blushed and smiled sweetly. "You won't, Seth...if there's anyone I trust myself to, it's you.." she murmured.

Seth removed the rest of her clothing and stared over her nude body, his mouth going dry, "Ra..."

"That bad...?" she murmured, fidgeting nervously as she gazed up at him.

"N-no! No, no, no...far from bad..." Seth cupped one of her breasts in his hand, running the other hand over hair fair skinned body.

Katsu'yaa'ra squeaked and arched her body with a soft sound of pleasure, her eyes fluttering shut. "Ah...R-Ra, Seth...!" she breathed, trembling.

Seth removed his hand from the best and took the small nipple into his mouth, suckling it, and causing the beautiful woman the utmost pleasure.

Katsu'yaa'ra moaned and lifted her hand to cup the back of his head, mewling as she pulled him closer. She blushed at sounding like a wanton, but the touch felt so good, made her tremble and grow warm inside. "Seth..." she breathed.

Seth moved his lips about the creamy skin of her breast, his hands roaming her firm, shapely body. Seth, himself, moaned. His lover tasted so good. One of his hands roamed to her heat and his fingers played with the curly blonde hairs there. He grinned.

Katsu'yaa'ra squeaked, then shivered, arching her back as the heat inside kicked up to the point of a blazing sun as her legs parted more for his touch, her hips raising instinctively with a gasp. "Seth..!"

Seth let the finger part the petals of her heat, as it trailed inside her entrance. As he did this, his mouh began to repeat the things he'd done with the other little nub.

"Oh..!" She moaned, arching her body as her head tilted back, her body trembling like a leaf on the wind, a choked little mewl leaving parted lips as she drowned in the heat and pleasure, breathing out Seth's name raggedly with each breath, each shiver.

Seth's mouth retreated from the breast, and began to kiss down her soft skinned stomach until it reached her naval. It dipped in and out.

"Seth..!" Her muscles bunched and contracted, arched into him as her fingers tangled into his hair, writhing under his touches as she squirmed and arched against him.

He stopped his assault from a moment, "Do you like that, my desert rose?" His finger moved inside her womanhood, adding to the pleasure.

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed at the nickname and nodded, moaning again as his finger brushed a fold of skin that made her cry out in pleasure, arching into his hand. "Ah...! Y-yes..! Gods..."

Seth pulled his finger from her, and stripped himself of his robing. He looked at her, "What I'm about to do will sting a little, if you do not like it, tell me to stop, alright?"

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and nodded, her eyes shyly tracing his form. He might as well have been a god himself..her hands reached out and smoothed lightly across his chest, stroking him. "You're...perfect.." she whispered.

Seth laughed dryly, "Far from, majesty..." He positioned his manhood at her entrance, "Now, just relax...okay? Don't look away from me and just relax." He began to slowly push into her.

Katsu'yaa'ra gasped and clasped onto his arms, a slight whimper leaving her lips as her body was flooded with a slight pain, and she bit her lip.

"Relax..." Seth stopped, giving her time to adjust, "Remember, if it starts to hurt to much, tell me, and I will stop."

She nodded and took a deep breath, clutching onto him and willing her body to relax.

Once he was burried all the way, he glanced at her, "Tell me when you're ready."

Katsu'yaa'ra whimpered quietly and buried her face against his neck for a moment, trying to get past the pain of her virginity being taken as she clung to him, breathing in and out slowly.

Seth held her close. He whispered sweet nothings in her ear, and tried to calm her and get her to relax. He did not move within her for he would not hurt her. Ever.

She whimpered quietly and nuzzled him, lifting her head to kiss him shyly as she lifted her hips to his slowly in a signal that she was all right.

Seth nodded and began to move slowly within her. He rocked inside her, trying to find her pleasure spot.

Katsu'yaa'ra mewled and shifted her body to follow his, clinging to him awkwardly for a few moments before finding the rhythm before Seth found the center of her pleasure, and she cried out, arching her back as she breathed his name with a gasp.

Seth grinned, positioning himself over her pleasure spot and thrusting faster in and out, hitting it with each thrust.

Long slim legs wrapped around Seth, locking at his waist as her back arched into him, her hands twining around his back as she mewled in pleasure, arching against him eagerly.

Seth moaned out. Her hot tightness was enough to drive him over to edge and man was it close.

"Gods...!" Katsu'yaa'ra gasped, arching her body as she arched against him, her body clenching and unclenching upon him as warmth roiled through her. She gave a soft cry, then spasmed, falling apart in his arms as she climaxed, giving a silent scream as her body clamped down on him.

Seth give his own cry, as her muscles clamped down on him and his own orgasm took control of him. He climaxed deep inside her and collapsed, panting heavily.

She gave a soft mewl, panting as she kissed his shoulder, purring softly as she nuzzled him, holding him close as she rested her cheek against him.

Seth pulled her closer, "I love you," then he closed his mouth with a snap. He hadn't meant to say that. Of course, it was true, but he'd felt so scared to say it. The nervousness of the situation had made his vocal box take a mind of its own.

Katsu'yaa'ra gasped and gazed up at him in awe, then hugged him closer. "I..I think I love you, too.." she whispered shyly. "I've never felt anything like this..ever.."

"Me either..." Seth murmured, "But you're brother can never find out about us, he'll surely have me sent to the shadow realm if he does."

She shivered and nodded, nuzzling closer to him. "I know...he's protective of me.." she murmured, scared at the thought of her brother hurting this sweet, handsome man for simply being with her. "I agree..it'll remain between us.." She glanced up at him. "Seth...this won't...stop because of Yami, will it? I..don't want to lose this because of him.." Dark eyes gazed earnestly at him.

"I'll never leave you, even if Yami finds out." Seth tightened his grip on her, "I love you to much, and I won't let him separate us." Seth looked at her, "Even if we lose out lives for each other, we'll be together again, I know it."

Katsu'yaa'ra smiled and nuzzled against him, sighing. "I love you, too, Seth..no matter what happens.." she whispered, twining a leg around his.

Seth smiled. He pulled her even closer and fell asleep with her in his arms.

******

Weeks passed with Katsu'yaa'ra in a deliriously happy state. Seth was wonderful to her, taking her for little secret meetings, holding her close and kissing her, something which she lapped up eagerly and returned wholeheartedly. She loved to be with him, it was as if he made her whole, her other half, her soulmate. And she didn't care that Yami would hate it, she craved his love, found whatever time, whatever reason she could to be with him.

She even swore Mokuba to secrecy and had him help her meet up with his brother. She twirled around in a violet wrap, her eyes glittering happily as she thought of being with Seth, then turned to Mokuba. "You're sure that Yami's distracted with his meetings?"

Mokuba nodded, "If I read the schedule scrolls correctly." He looked her over, "He'll love that new wrap, purple's his favorite color."

~~

Seth sat in his quarters, waiting for his lover. He looked at himself in a mirror.

Katsu'yaa'ra blushed and fingered the delicate silk. "It's why I wore it. I want to please him.." She smiled at the little boy. "I love your brother a lot, Mokuba..I want to be perfect for him.."

"I'm glad...he's been lonely for so long, he really needed a companion." Mokuba chirped.

~!~

Yami stretched, "Ah, free for the day." He trudged through the palace, toward Seth's quarters.

!~!

Seth paced his quarters. He was worried that his love hadn't showed up yet.

Katsu'yaa'ra smiled and petted the long black hair before twirling out happily to Seth's quarters, her long legs carrying her fast to Seth as her heart beat with a giddy rhythm. She knocked on his door, smiling.

Seth sighed in relief and opened it. He pulled her into his arms, "I was so frightened, what took you so lon--purple...your wearing purple." He grinned, "You know how much I love it when you wear purple..." He closed the door abruptly.

~!~

Yami trotted quietly to Seth's quarters, humming a little song to himself. He knocked once.

No answer

He knocked again

Nothing.

So, he quietly opened the door and....

"KATSU'YAA'RA! WHAT IN THE SEVEN HELLS IS GOING ON!?"

Seth looked up. Yami...Yami had caught them together and he was furious. And the position they were in didn't help much. Seth lay sprawled on top of Katsu'yaa'ra, her wrap half-way off already, exposing her beautiful breasts.

"Majesty it isn't what it looks li--" Seth stood and was cut off by Yami.

"--Do you take me a fool, you traitor?!"

"Brother, please!" Katsu'yaa'ra hoisted herself upright, pulling the silken garment over her chest, blushing. "Don't be upset with Seth, please! I love him! I don't want you to be upset!"

"How did you think I was going to react when I found out, sister?!" Yami raged

"We...were planning you wouldn't." Seth mumbled. Yami fumed at him. Seth knew that hadn't been the right thing to say.

"By Ra, traitor, you will suffer for your treachery!" Yami began to chant some weird spell in egyptian, and the sennen eye appeared on his forehead, "Now you die...." He sent the blast Seth's way.

"NO!!!" Katsu'yaa'ra screamed in horror, then darted in front of Seth, wrapping her arms around him protectively as she shielded his body with her own.

Yami tried to prevent the blast when he sister jumped in front of Seth, but it was already to late.

"NO!!!!" The two men screamed.

Katsu'yaa'ra's body went limp in Seth's arms and he fell to the floor cradling the body to him, "No...come back...I need you...come back..." Seth burried his face in the crook of her neck, "My desert rose..please....please come back..."

Yami, shocked at what he had done, sank into the shadows of the hallway before running off.

Seth stayed there, holding his dead love close, and forcing himself not to cry, but a single tear managed to escape.

"Katsu'yaa'ra...we will meet again...I promised you that..." He kissed her forehead.

The tear rolled down the girl's cheek as she lay against him, as if she herself were cying. The words seemed to echo in the silent room, sealing the promise for always.

!~5000 years later~!

Seto Kaiba sat at his desk in his office, contemplating the dream he'd had the night before. He hadn't been able to work all day because of it. It had been him in ancient times, like what Isis had said before Battle City. And there was a woman. A woman he'd loved. A woman who looked to much like the mutt for comfort.

"Damn this..." Seto sighed and leaned back in his chair.

The buzzer for the secretary rang, and the secretary called, "Kaiba-sama? You have a visitor.."

"Who is it?" Seto snapped, coming out of his train of thought. He did not want to see anyone right now.

"Er..." The secretay murmured before she was outvoiced.

"Open up, moneybags, you an' me gotta talk!" A male voice, tough and low, sounded into the buzzer.

Seto growled low into the buzzer, "Come in," and spun his chair around, so the blonde could not look straight at him, when he came in.

Jou stomped into the room as he opened the door, then closed it behind him as he put his hands on his hips. "Okay, moneybags, talk. Isis Ishtar called me and said that I was s'posed to go talk to you, got a reason as to why?"

Seto growled. He would deal with Isis later. He turned toward Jou,

"I've been having strange dreams."

The blond quirked a brow as he shifted his weight to his other hip, crossing his arms over his chest. "Strange dreams? Why would they involve me?"

"Because YOU'RE in them." Seto closed his eyes, "But it's not you, exactly. She looks like you, but well...she's a woman."

"Whaaaaa...?!" Jou drawed out, nearly falling over as his dark eyes bulged, then shook his head as he shoved a hand through his hair. "I'm not a girl, last I checked, Kaiba, and I don't have these.." He snapped his fingers for the right word. "...flashes of the past. That's you and Yami's thing, not mine."

"Do you think I want these stupid dreams?!" Seto snapped, standing from his desk, and pounding his fists into it, "I didn't even want to talk to you, you pathetic dog!"

Jou yelped, jumping back at the slamming of those fists against the desk, dark eyes wide and hurt. "....Well, excuse me for not knowing anything about this, Kaiba." he managed to snap out, crossing his arms over his chest and glancing away.

Seto recognized the hurt face, and Katsu'yaa'ra's face flashed in his head, "Desert rose..." He murmured, as if he had no control of his voice anymore.

Jou blinked and turned his head, golden hair swishing around his cheek, ing ing the impression of longer hair for a moment. "What did you call me..?" he asked, his eyes wide as something of the nickname flashed at him, then left again.

Seto looked at him and his heart ached, "Ah, n-nothing." He sat down in his chair, staring down at his desk, his features sad and longing.

Jou frowned at him, confused as something tickled at the back of his head, but he couldn't place it. Hesitantly, he stepped forward to him, confused and concerned as he noted Seto's expression. ".....Kaiba...you okay..?"

"No!" He snapped, looking up at Jou, his blue eyes moist. He did not want Jou to see his weakness. But he was starting to believe what Isis had said about his past. And he was starting to realize how much he, as Seth, missed Katsu'yaa'ra, and how much it started to hurt when he looked at Jou.

Jou jerked back at the harsh tone, looking abashed. "Sorry.." he muttered, glancing down. He had no clue what was wrong, but Isis was making things worse. "I..I'll leave, sorry for bothering ya." he murmured, turning around and heading for the door.

"No, please come back, Kat--I mean...Jounouchi." That was just as bad as almost calling him some woman's name.

Jou glanced at him over his shoulder, pushing a hank of hair behind his ear. He just called him by his name..not mutt, not puppy, not anything doglike..it must be something important..

"I think we should go see Isis...together." Together...Katsu'yaa'ra...gods, this was all so confusing, "Come now..." He pushed the buzzer, "Miranda, have Fransisco bring the limo around, would you."

Jou frowned, then gave a shrug, awkwardly placing his hands in his jeans pocket as he watched him silently. "This is too weird.." he muttered.

"Don't I know it...." When Seto heard the honking of the limo and gestured Jou to follow him. He climbed into the limo, when in the street and helped Jounouchi in, feeling the strangest de-ja-vu. He scowled. These dreams were going to get the best of him if he did not talk to Isis soon.

Jou flushed as Seto helped him in. twisting his lips with a thoughtful quirk as he blinked at him, then sat down almost gracefully. He pushed his hair out of his eyes, wondering why he felt like he'd done that before.

Seto told the driver to bring them to Domino City Museum, quickly. Once there, Seto helped Jounouchi out of the car and traveled up the steps, seeing Isis standing outside, waiting for them. Figures...

Black hair swishing behind her, Isis smiled as she glanced at Seto and Jou. "Welcome, gentlemen, it's about time that you two showed up. Many questions need to be answered, ne?"

Jou blinked at her, still finding it freaky that she knew so much without them saying a thing.

"Hai." Seto looked at her, "Many questions, Isis-san, many questions."

"Then follow me, gentlemen, and we'll see what can be answered...within reason, of course.." Isis murmured, then turned to lead them inside.

Seto nodded his head, gesturing Jou to follow him, as he followed the egyptian woman inside.

Jou fidgeted as he followed Seto and Isis, practically clueless as to what was going on. All he knew was that Isis had called him and told him, basically, that it would be worth his while to visit Kaiba, that he had some interesting things to say. But he hadn't found them interesting, he'd found them freaky. As far as he could tell, he'd had no past life like Yami or Kaiba, and hadn't really thought of it until Seto had said something about some woman in his past life that looked like him. Even that was freaky..

'I was a girl in my past life? Hoo, betcha Kaiba got a laugh out of that..' he thought to himself. But Kaiba hadn't been laughing. He'd looked..upset..and he had no clue why..all they'd been was rivals, so why would this thing, these dreams be disturbing to Mr. All-Important CEO? He glanced at Seto out of the corner of his eye, studying him.

Seto glanced back at him, snapping, "Nani?! What are you looking at?!" Seto scowled at him, and Katsu'yaa'ra flashed in his head. Her sad face when he had given her the cold stare he gave so many people,"Ah...get out of my head...."

Jou 'meep'ed and looked down, that exact same expression on the blond's face as he looked away. "Gomen.." he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest in a defensive gesture.

Seto's face turned from one of cold, bitterness to one of sorrow, "No...gomen nasai...I did not mean to yell...I have alot on my mind." Again, Katsu'yaa'raa. He'd said that to her the night that they'd....he squeezed his eyes shut. "Why won't you get out of my HEAD!"

Jou jumped in startlement, his eyes wide as he considered if KaibaCorp had finally made Kaiba flip and lose his marbles..what he had of them, that was..

Isis chuckled as she considered the blond's expression. "No, he's quite alright, Katsuya, merely frustrated."

Jou blinked, then frowned at her. "You read minds, too, Isis-san?" he muttered, quirking an inquisitive brow.

Seto looked at her, "I want ANSWERS, who is this woman and why won't and she get out of my head and why...does she look like the damn mongral!"

"Hey, watch it. " Jou snarled, bristling as his temper snapped. "You're acting loopy enough, can it with the dog comments!"

"Fine." He snapped, not facing Jou, "Well, are you going to give me some damn answers or not?!"

"Patience, Seto Kaiba." Isis replied calmly, opening soothing oceanic-blue eyes. "What is it you wish to know in particular? I cannot tell you all, that is something you must find out for yourself."

"Who is she? Why does she look like Jounouchi yet she plagues my mind and not his?" Seto asked, just as calmly, now.

"The reason she does not haunt his mind is because his memories are not awakened. He may only have deja-vu flashes, nothing more. Not yet. Her name is Katsu'yaa'ra, and she was the Pharaoh's sister. The reason she looks like Jounouchi is simple. She is-was-Jounouchi."

"I do not understand. She was Jounouchi? What do you mean?" Seto inquired.

Isis quirked a brow, then smiled as Jou flushed, having got the gist. "Katsu'yaa'ra was his past life self when you were High Priest. She was reborn as Jounouchi, as you were as Seto."

"How can a woman become a man?" Seto questioned further, "Wouldn't she be reicarnated a woman more likely then a man?"

Isis only smiled a mystus sus smile. "Fate works in mysterious ways, Seto. Don't question it, merely let it hn."n."

"What is with you and the fortune cookie thing? Why can't you ever give a logical person his logical answers, damn it!" Sgrowgrowled.

"Because fate and what the past and future hold in the present doesn't conform to logic." Isis replied calmly. "Is there anything else you wish to know?"

"When will it go away?" Seto asked, "The feeling of guilt...the feeling like I could have done something to...prevent her for dying..." Seto stared at the ground, "The feeling like I betrayed her."

At first, Jou blinked in surprise, staring as Kaiba admitted to a feeling for someone else besides his brother, surprised that it was possible. 'You mean there's an actual heart beating in that Ice King's chest?' was his first thought. Then, as he listened to the words, to the soft emotion behind them, Jou was overcome with a feeling of wanting to comfort him, of wanting to say--

"There was nothing you could have done. I chose the path for me to protect you. That was all that I was worried about, not if I lived or died. You told me we would meet again. You did not betray me."

Jou blinked as that other-voice left his head, feeling like he'd been taken control of. He lifted a hand to his mouth in shock. It was as if something else had spoken, even the voice patterns had changed. He blinked in confusion as Isis smiled.

Seto looked at Jou in shock, "K-Katsu'yaa'ra...?" He stared at Jou. He took a step toward Jounouchi, "Is it you...?"

Jou blinked at him as Isis chuckled. "It is she. Just as your memories as High Priest are locked in your head, Seto, so too are those of Katsu'yaa'ra in Jounouchi's."

Jou blinked again, then looked down at the floor, fidgeting nervously. "Then why don't I remember..?"

"It's not your time to." Isis replied gently.

Seto scowled, "Well, remember soon, mutt." Seto turned to walk out, "Come on, I'll give you a ride home...thank you, Isis-san."
