Prologue:

In the year 3028 there is a small town known as Ilicaina were humans and animations otherwise known as super humans, are separated by a boarder.  They cannot enter bars with human or schools with humans.  Humans having the best of things and animations having the worst of them.  Outside the town was a dense forest where the people believe that a monster is living there. It is strange how they also see it in town during night, even though they put fences around the woods with barbed wire and traps to capture the creature.

The humanoids would usually tell horror stories to their children before bedtime of a monster that tore the heads off unsuspecting Ilicainans and devour their souls.  Saying that, “if you listen really carefully you can hear the creature’s light footsteps hitting the pavement or what you thought were footsteps.  What you really might have heard was the flapping of two huge black skeletal-like wings cutting the breeze.”

The creature was a young female at average height, wearing tight leather black pants and a black tank top, along with Velcro shoes that came to a point near her toes.  The teen looks to have been in her early twenties.  Her brown hair ran past her shoulders with a pale complexion.  The teen had black dragon-like wings that helped her glide through the air and land safely on the road. Her wings looked like they were torn from a thousand humans, sewed together and then dyed black, and stretched across her bones. Although they were made of skin they were soft as a feather.  Her black tail twisted and turned then wrapped around her right leg almost touching the ground.

The town was very small.  The main intersection was where humanoids and the super humans would usually come and “interact” with each other.  To the west lies the humanoids turf, to the east was the super humanoids turf.  South was the Sulking forest, where she lived. In the middle of the intersection was a manhole. While the entire town slept they didn’t hear the female walk towards the intersections manhole. The female removed the grate, jumped down into the dark hole, and landed in a puddle after a morning storm.  The forest was so dense that it is extremely hard for her to fly in, it was best for her to walk underground and not be seen by the humans. Walking down the drainage pipes her senses were on high alert, especially sense of smell.

“I may not be the only one down here”, thought the female. Her icy blue eyes scanned the sewer for any signs of danger as her elf-like ears twitched sharply as if indicating something was following.  Turning left she entered a drainage pipe, the pipe lead upward into the Sulking forest a secret entrance.

Her noise soon picks up a familiar scent before she could enter; the smell of rotting flesh.  Hearing something being dragged across the floor in a heap or maybe it was the gurgling of the sewage that made too much of a distraction and it interfered with her hearing. Having to hurry just in case it was a hired hunter, she slipped through the pipe bars. Beginning to leave she sees the person setting a trap with the dead carcass maybe a deer or elk.

She made a small chuckle.

The young female continued her climb upward. She removed the grate from the pipeline, she was just small enough to slip through and enter the Sulking forest. It was quiet in the wood which was unusual to say the least. The redwoods usually held tales as they whispered to insects and flowers. The cattails would usually snicker with delight and the river didn’t babble at all. It was just too silent.

“Weird…it’s probably nothing,” she muttered while shaking her head.   Her voice silky as the night, not hearing the distress call from something nearby. Continuing her walk into the dark woods she jumped upon a branch overhead and began walking home as the cries echoed into the darkness.
