Pain of an Angel
Yusei started to approach Aki as he lifepoints ran out. He had just won the semifinals of the Fortune Cup, enduring Aki’s painful attacks as he let her vent her heart’s darkness on him. He was used to pain: The Satelitte was full of thugs who picked on the weak, and Yusei was constantly going up against groups of over 20 muscular opponents solo. He always won his fights, but the pain afterward was always more than any normal person could take. Fortunately, Yusei wasn’t normal, but he didn’t know that right now.
Divine came up to Aki and put his trench coat around her shoulders before leading her away. The psychic duelist glowered at Yusei, not liking the fact that the young black-and-blond-haired man had begun to pry open Aki’s shut heart. For his plans to succeed, he needed her heart closed off to the rest of the world, and this Satellite was going to become a nuisance. Yusei watched helplessly as the red-haired girl was pulled away by the auburn-haired leader of the Arcadia Movement. Sighing, Yusei decided to attend to another important matter first, racing to the tower where Rex Godwin watched the tournament from.
Yusei ran up to the elevator doors, the pain from his last duel already gone, save for the pain in the two ridges on his back behind his shoulder blades. They had been there for as long as he could remember, but they had never hurt like this before. Yusei pushed his worry aside: He needed to save his friends and win this last duel first. The guards standing on each side of the elevator stood up straighter as he ran up.
“Hey, you! You can’t go there” one shouted, but Yusei knocked him out with a single flying uppercut. As he began to land, he used his left foot to hit the second guard, stunning him long enough for Yusei to land cat-like on the floor and knock him out with a strong left hook. He then tore through the double doors and made his way to Godwin’s office unopposed.

“But, sir, you have to listen to me! This tournament is dangerous, you must stop this!” Ushio pleaded with Godwin as Yusei stepped out of the elevator.
“I don’t HAVE to do anything, Officer Ushio. Now will you kindly leave so that Mr. Atlas can prepare for his next duel?” Godwin growled, clearly not liking his subordinate speaking out of turn. Yusei walked up, surprising Ushio.
“How the hell’d you get here?” he roared, making to punch the hope of the Satellite. Yusei caught Ushio hand in midair without looking, bending the large, more muscular man’s wrist back to make his point known. Ushio stoppedd trying to attack and Yusei released his hold. As the young man stepped up to Godwin to confront the bane of his and every other Satellite’s existence, Ushio glowered at Yusei’s back, rubbing his injured wrist, but not daring to try attacking when the man’s guard was up again. Yusei stared at Godwin straight in the eye, defiance and rage burning within with no hint of fear whatsoever.
“Release my friends. It’s me you want, not them. If you want to see the Crimson Dragon, release them or I won’t duel,” Yusei demanded, every syllable shaking with hatred at the white-haired man before him. Godwin nodded, and placed a call to have Yusei’s friends released from their steel prison. Yusei glared at Godwin before turning and leaving the way he came, his back throbbing even more than before.

Alright, gonna skip over the Yusei vs. Jack duel before the next chapter since I’m no good at writing that sort of thing. Next chapter: Yusei’s power awakens! Hurray!
