Report card day, definitely one the best days of the year, at least for Chazz. To Chazz, everything about this particular day brought a smile to his face. From watching the slackers’ horrified reactions to their dismal grades, to bragging to anyone and everyone about his fantastic grade point average. Even as a slifer, Chazz could pull off grades as good as any obelisk, and that was something to grin about. Today was going to be a good day.
“Hey Chazz! You seem happy today.” A certain brown haired slacker energetically said as he sat next to Chazz.
The former obelisk scowled. If anyone could mess up such a perfect day, Jaden could. Luckily, the absent minded slacker would flee in terror once he found out what significants this particular day had. “I have every reason to be happy. Did you forget what today is?” Chazz said with an arrogant smirk.
“Ahh, Monday?” Jaden said, scratching his head and looking perplexed.
‘Figures,’ The slightly amused Chazz thought. “Today is Report card day, slacker. Are you looking forward to see what sleeping in class does to your grades?” Chazz said snidely, with a wide, arrogant grin.
Jaden’s jaw dropped. Abruptly, he got up and ran off like a man on fire. He grabbed Syrus, who was on his way in, and dragged him off while explaining, “It’s report card day Sy! We gotta get out of here!”
Class was starting now. No Jaden to annoy him, and report cards at the end of the day. Chazz was in his glee. Yes, today was going to be a good day indeed.

It was now the moment Chazz was waiting for. After a long, boring lecture on trap cards and their uses, the reports were finally being distributed. Crowler stood in front of the class calling out to students to come pick up the reports. The eager slifer boy was almost shaking with anticipation.
“Jaden Yuki! Come here!” Crowler called. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to locate that slacker before moving on, “...Jaden? Where is that slacker?”
One of the obelisk blue students mentioned that they seen him run out of class earlier. Crowler let out an angry sigh.
“Oh well, I’ll have to get him later. Chazz Princeton!”
The black clad slifer stood triumphantly. He made his way to Crowler with his head held high and an unshakable arrogant smirk.
Chazz was about to take his report card, but Crowler didn’t let it go right away. “See me after class Mr. Princeton.” He said in a very serious tone, releasing the report.
‘Heh, Crowler probably wants to give me an award or something, or beg me to go back to obelisk blue.’ Chazz gleefully thought as he made his way back to his seat. Once seated, he tore through the envelope and commenced reading.
96, 94, 88, 91, 95, 41... Wait, 41? According to this report, Chazz was FAILING fusion! This was an outrage! But maybe this is what Crowler wanted to see him about. Crowler probably typed that number in wrong, and was ashamed to admit that in front of the class. Still, this is certainly not a matter to be taken lightly!
When all of the other students had cleared out, a very angry Chazz confronted Crowler, his rage more than evident. “What’s with this failing grade on MY report card?! Did your computer have a virus or something!?”
“Oh Chazz,” Crowler said in his usual over dramatic fashion, “I was just as shocked as you are! It pains me so to see a student of your calabur FAILING! However, since this is your first failing grade, I’ll arrange for a make up exam at the end of the month.”
Chazz let out a low growl in response, then replied, “the Chazz only cares about results!” He turned to leave, and possibly vent all of his anger on some other lowly slifer, but was abruptly stopped by Crowler.
“Wait Mr. Princeton, I’m not done with you yet.”
Chazz disdainfully turned around. There was an enraged scowl plastered on his face. As calmly as he could muster, he mumbled out, “yes sir?”
“In the mean time, you’ll have to study fusion on your own time, under the supervision of a tutor. I believe you’ll be able to achieve your full potential under a tutor’s watchful eye.”
“WHAT? The Chazz does NOT need a tutor!”
“Well apparently you do Mr. Princeton. I expect to see you after class tomorrow, and everyday until the exam is over. You’ll do whatever the tutor says, or else there will be no make up exam for you. Be on time everyday, No exceptions! Is that clear Mr. Princeton?”
Chazz snarled, then sighed an angry sigh. “yes sir,” he muttered before taking his leave. He abruptly stormed back to his room, mumbling curses under his breath. His wonderful report card day had turned out to be one of the worse days of the year. When he finally reached his room, he kicked open the door, threw his report card on the floor and sighed again angrily as he fell face up on his bed.
All of a sudden, a new more positive thought invaded the mind the previously disgruntled slifer. The designated tutor would more than likely be Alexis! That makes perfect sense! The obelisk girl had fantastic grades in everything, not to mention perfect attendance. Now that Zane had gone, she was probably a candidate to be the academy’s top duellist. Crowler would surely assign her to be his tutor! Even though she may think a little less of him, it was a perfect opportunity to talk to her. Oh, the possibilities!
Chazz’s smirk from earlier returned. Maybe this wasn’t such a bad day after all.
