Prologue: Letters From Hogwarts
"It is time." Godric Gryffindor said as the Four Founders watched their beloved Hogwarts fall almost to ruins from the strife of fighting Houses and the war against the one that called himself Voldemort.
"And if they are not ready?" Rowena Ravenclaw asked icily as she glared at Godric.
"They must be ready," said Helga Hufflepuff fretfully as she glanced around the Great Hall, scared for the students that were there.
"The King of Darkness is ready," said Salazar Slytherin as he leaned against Godric. The Founders became quiet as they watched the hatred between Godric's and Salazar's Houses. The Gryffindors and Slytherins were the salvation of the Wizarding World, if only they could work together. However, due to the hatred that had been started during Tom Riddle's reign at Hogwarts, the two Houses were at each other's throats. The Slytherins had no support from either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, the two Houses supporting Gryffindor instead, so it was no wonder that they closed themselves off from the other students and the teachers.
"And the Prince of Light?" Rowena asked.
"Will be ready. The two are reunited. We just need their memories to awaken," said Salazar.
"And have the King of Darkness remember how much he despises the Wizarding World," said Godric dryly. The last time the King of Darkness awoke, he nearly destroyed the Wizarding World alone.
"Send the letters," said Helga glaring at Godric, hating the reminder. Godric simply grinned, unashamed. He had had no part in angering the boy. "Make no mention of the yamis. That is their trump card. We four will be the only ones with that knowledge."
"Agreed," said Rowena, Godric, and Salazar as one. There was no telling what the current Ministry officials or Dumbledore would do with knowledge of the yamis.
In Albus Dumbledore's office, ten letters appeared on top of the new student letters. The Founders watched as Dumbledore sent the letters off with school owls, seemingly without noticing the additional ten, and they breathed a sigh of relief at the action.
"Let's hope the Oracle was right." Rowena said softly, her eyes half-lidded. Godric, Salazar, and Helga nodded their agreement.

"I still say ya cheated somehow," said Katsuya Jounouchi as he frowned at Malik Ishtar. The two had just finished a game of Duel Monsters, with Malik winning. Their audience sitting around them on the couches were Yuugi Mouto, Ryou Bakura, Ryuuichi Otogi, Hiroto Honda, and surprisingly, Seto Kaiba.
"We-we-we can do it o-o-over," stammered Malik as he leaned back slightly away from Jounouchi. Ever since Battle City had been won and the unknown force controlling both Malik and Marik had been destroyed, Malik had turned shy, frightful, and skittish. He allowed no one but Marik to touch him or even come near him at times.
"Nah," said Jounouchi ignoring the warning glow from the Millennium Rod resting in Malik's lap. "I just need ta start paying attention more ta my life points instead of just focusing on attacks."
"The puppy learns," drawled Seto from his spot beside Yuugi, his arm around Yuugi's waist protectively, the amusement in his voice clear. While the others may have taken the gesture to mean that he and Yuugi were dating, it wass in fact none other than a brotherly sort of gesture. Yuugi and Yami had helped him realize that his obsession with being the best was tearing him and Mokuba apart and he was in fact losing Mokuba. In return for the help, Seto had helped Yami pursue Yuugi. During the entire process, the three had become as close as blood-brothers.
"Bite me Kaiba," snarled Jounouchi, his eyes darkening slightly with anger and self recrimination. He was angered because, to him, Yuugi and Seto were dating and he was annoyed with himself because he knew full well that Yuugi had no idea Jou saw or even liked Seto that way.
"Where?" drawled Seto causing Jounouchi to blush bright red, Ryou and Malik to burst out laughing, Otogi and Honda to roll their eyes, and Yuugi to giggle uncontrollably. Seto just rolled his eyes at the antics while the Millennium Ring, Puzzle, and Rod began to glow and Yami, Bakura, and Marik appeared, the glow disappearing as they did. As they took one look at their hysterical hikaris, Bakura and Marik just shrugged while Yami raised an eyebrow, causing a fresh round of giggles. Before Yuugi could explain however, ten tawny owls flew into the room and proceded to drop letters into Yuugi's, Yami's, Ryou's, Bakura's, Malik's, Marik's, Honda's, Otogi's, Seto's, and Jounouchi's laps before taking off, leaving a mound of feathers behind. On all of the letters was written:

Domino City, Japan
Above the address were the names:
Yuugi Mouto, Atemu Mouto, Ryou Bakura, Hiretsukan Bakura, Malik Ishtar, Marik Ishtar, Ryuuichi Otogi, Hiroto Honda, Seto Kaiba, and Katsuya Jounouchi
"I'm going on the assumption that these *all* say the exact same," drawled Yami dryly as he opened his letter. Everyone else opened theirs, in case of differences while Yami proceded to read his letter out loud. "Mr. Mouto, we are pleased to announce that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Term begins Sept. 1. We await your owl no later than July 31st. Sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress."
"Mine said the same," said Yuugi as he quickly scanned his letter.
"Ditto," said Jounouchi, Bakura, Marik, Honda, and Otogi as one.
"Same here," said Ryou and Malik.
"Mine concurs," said Seto, a smirk on his lips. Yami rolled his eyes while Yuugi giggled at Seto's pompous attitude. The two knew full well it was an act.
"So what does it mean?" wondered Malik as he leaned into Marik, relaxing as his yami ran his fingers through his hair.
"Kuso!" cursed Bakura suddenly, eyes widening. "They didn't!"
"Hakaroba?" asked Yami a bit coldly, his voice all but demanding an answer. (Hakaroba-Tomb Robber)
"The British Wizarding World Pharoah," snarled Bakura angrily. Understanding and realization dawned in Yami's and Marik's eyes, Yami narrowing his in anger.
"Yami?" asked Yuugi, Ryou, and Malik confused and worried. They could feel the anger in their links.
"What's wrong?" asked Jounouchi, voicing Otogi's, Honda's, and Seto's own concerns.
"About a thousand years ago," started Yami coldly as he began to pace. "The Millennium Items were found by four people-Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw. They couldn't solve the Puzzle, none of them being Yuugi, but somehow they managed to tap into the powers of the Millennium Items."
"But the Items' powers can't be used unless the Puzzle is completed," said Ryou confused. It was the first thing they learned about the Items after Yuugi had finished the Puzzle.
"Exactly," said Bakura as he glared at the letter in his hand. "Yet, these four people did it. It's probably what turned us all insane except for Yami. Unlike him, us other spirits living the Items couldn't control how much power these humans took, and they took too much. By the time they realized exactly what they did, it was too late to fix it."
"In our rage, we sorta killed them," said Marik, grinning in remembrance.
"He decimated them," muttered Bakura under his breath, a grin crossing his face.
"Bite me hakaroba!" snarled Marik.
"Fuck You!" retorted Bakura.
"Bitch," snarled Marik.
"Slut," sneered Bakura.
"Enough," ordered Yami wearily. "What we need to figure out right now is if we want to go to Hogwarts."
"Why wouldn't we?" asked Honda confused.
"The only reason we'd be given these," said Bakura as he brandished the letter as if it was a sword. "Is if the Founders needed our help to overcome whatever evil is currently attacking their school."
"I say we help," said Yuugi quietly. "We can't hold the children attending the school right now responsible for these peoples' mistakes."
"I don't want to go because I know we'll be seperated," growled Bakura annoyed.
"What do you mean?" asked Ryou, head cocked to one side.
"There are four Houses at Hogwarts and they are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Each one named after one of the Founders. It's your...team per say. For seven years you stay with that House, earning points or having points deducted depending on your behavior," said Marik, eyes narrowing. He really didn't want to go back. "However, we would most likey be seperated into Gryffindor and Slytherin."
"What about the ones without the yami/hikari bond?" drawled Seto, eyes narrowing. If he was going to go, he had alot to do to make sure Mokuba wouldn't have to take over as CEO of Kaiba Corp.
"Seto, you and Otogi would most likely be in Slytherin with Bakura and Marik," said Yami as he studied the letter again.
"Great," sighed Otogi. Just what he wanted, to room with two homicidal maniacs.
"While Jou and Honda would be in Gryffindor, most likely," Yami continued, ignoring Otogi's minor protest.
"So are we going or not?" asked Ryou curious. He wanted to go.
"We'll go, but I'm not changing who I am to please them," growled Marik as he crumpled the letter. No use getting more annoyed.
"Then lets make arrangements," said Yami as he folded his letter. "And get some rest. We'll need it."
