Mirror Memories

Please bear with me, this is a long process and I'm still not finished the story. It's also in a first person point of view, and I'm not very good at these types of stories. So this is a bit of a challenge to myself. Comments are welcome, but flames only burn. Please be nice???? *puppydog eyes*

J.P.O.V-Joey's Point Of View
S.P.O.V-Seto's Point Of View
/Thoughts/

J.P.O.V
The sound of glass breaking filled the night air as I ran out of the house, slamming the door in his face. He was drunk again, go figure. But recently it's gotten worse. The beatings are harder, more severe. I needed, to just get, the fuck out. But go where? I hadn't the slightest clue. Spitting blood, I walked towards the sidewalk as quickly as possible.
"Get back here, you good for nothing asshole!" my father shouted at me from the doorway. He leaned heavily against the door frame. A bottle of vodka and scotch, his own mix, was halfway empty in his right hand. That was his second bottle so far, but I could guarentee that it wouldn't be the last before the night was through.
"Fuck off!" I yelled back, quickening my pace. I had just reached the sidewalk when I felt the impact of his fist smashing into the back of my skull. Dazed, I felt him turning me around. His fist then connected with my temple. I fell, stunned. His aim was off, but then again, he might just be hitting his target. Kicking me in the ribs he shouted insult after insult. Reaching up as much as possible I hooked my arm around his knee and yanked, pulling him off balance. Falling to the ground, I took the few precious seconds I had to draw in a breath. It didn't do me any good though. He rolled ontop of me, grabbing me by the hair and smashed my head into the sidewalk over and over.Black spots ate at my vision as I doubled up my fist and punched the drunkard called my father in the stomach. He doubled over enought for me to shove him off. I stood up quickly, kicked him in the face and took off running.
The world spun around me as the black spots increased in size. I made my way dangerously down the street only to have to stop outside the park. Sitting down on the sidewalk, I realized my mistake. The cool breeze whispered comfort to my battered body. The encasing darkness beckened me to the sweet release of sleep. I knew i was hurt, but I didn't care. Safty, reasurence, comfort. That's what I wanted and sleep seemed to promise this to me. I couldn't help it. My eyes felt so heavy. Falling backwards, I passed out.

S.P.O.V.
The laptop shined harshly in the dark room. business was always present on me. Whether it was by the shine of a computer, the ringing of a cellphone, the whirl of a fax machine, or the buzzing of a beeper. Then again, it also comes in the form of people, employee's to be exact.
"Mr. Kaiba-sama, the deal with DuelDra, inc. is sealed. It's eleven at night, maybe you should go home now." Akira Sumouto, my secratary, said, carefully placing my mug of coffee on my desk and peering at me reproachfully. I glanced at the clock and realized she was right. Just another fifteen hour day for me. I rubbed my eyes and sighed.
"I suppose your right. It's late. I'm going home. You should as well." I said, turning off the laptop and opening my desk to retrieve my car keys.
"Thank you Mr. Kaiba. Have a good night...well, what's left of it." Miss. Sumouto walked out with a smile as I took a sip of my coffe and stood up. Taking ahold of my trench coat, I walked out and locked the office door. I stopped by the employee lounge breifly to transfer my coffe into a cup with a lid. Finally, the time came for me to leave. The world of business was just not ment to live in for such long periods of time. I turned off all of the lights and locked the doors, then headed to my car. The night had an odd scent to it, but I was unable to identify it.
I got in the car and turned the ignition. The car roared to life as I palced my cup in the cup holder and turned on the air conditioner. It was a humid night and I had a good bit of distance to drive. Placing the car into reverse, I eased out of the parking spot before joining the other vehicles on the main strip. I turned up the radio in an attempt to keep myself awake. Time went by slowly as the moon shrouded over by clouds, the tell-tale sign of a storm. The warning that mother naure was about to strike her vengence once more.
Twenty minutes passed before I finally made the turn that would eventually lead me to the mansion. Kakomoe St. first lead through the slims of domino City. Past a certain mangie mutt's house, past Koi Park, which was well known for love, then eventually to the gates of Kaiba estate. I drove slowly down the street. People jump infront of vehicles all the time here, then try to claim insurance fraud. Past Joey Wheelers house. I notice red on the sidewalk infront of his hme, as well as broken glass, and wonder what happened. Driving cautiously, I pass Koi Park, thinking to myself. Someone was collapsed right inside the park's enterance, near the bushes. I started to go by before looking once more, closely this time. The flash of a green jacket catches my attention. Blonde hair then revealed itself from the dark as I pulld the car over and got out.
"Joey?" I whispered, my heart plummeting to my feet in an icy rush. A soft moan issued from the body upon the ground. "Joey!" I yelled.
I ran over to hom only to halt in mid-step, seeing the battered body laying on the ground in a pool of blood. It couldn't be Joey, it just couldn't be. Joey was a man of fighting, or surviving. He wouldn't alllow someone to do this, it just wouldn't.
I dropped to my knees and looked over him. A large gash decorated the left side of his temple. it loked as though a ring had grated the side of his face. Black, blue and purple bruises morbidly colored his face as smaller cus traced over the pale skin. For some reason, his breath rattled out, as though something was punctured. I opened his shirt, only to face a severly beated body. Bruises mared his perfect flesh, and one of his ribs looked broken. Everything was miscolored. What almost looked like whip marks graced his sides to run along his back. Tracing one with the tip of my finger, I realized they weren't whip marks, merely belt wounds, with with dried blood and lacerations.
It was at that precise moment that I kewe something happened at home, not with another gang. I dropped to my knees and quickly wrapped my trench coat around him after taking it off. He was so cold, his lips were blue. Grasping his hand was like holding an ice cube. Another moan was elicted from his tormented body as his eyes fluttered open for a moment.
"Seto...okay...safe...Seto." Joey mumbled before tightening his hand in mine gently, weakly. Within a few moments, he passed out again, leaving me to gaze at a semi-animated body. What was I going to do?

J.P.O.V.
Pain, injury, sharp instruments, stinging, burning, it all came back for a brief moment. Memories replayed like tortured dreams. /Don't cry, you're a man, toughen up./ I thought. I had to prove that much to myself at least. A warm hand grasped mine, so warm. I struggled to open my eyes, and finally managed after some time. Seto was there, holding my hand. He had his coat over me. so warm, so relaxing. Sleep. I was safe, so safe. Seto was here, my secretly beloved Seto. "Seto" he was here with me, everything was going to be "okay" now that i was finally "safe". All because of "Seto..." I passed out once more, only speaking a few of the wrods from my thoughts. Darkness encased me once more.

I let go of his hand and puled out my cell phone, only to see that my battery died. /Don't panic, everything will be fine, just get him to a hospital. Hurry, but don't panic./ I though before wrapping the coat around joeys robs and picking him up as gently as possible. A painful moan emitted from his abused body. Fear clutched at my heart, cold and painful, as I cloed my eyes. I never wanted to hear that sound pittiful sound come from thouse georgous lips again, but I had to move him. I had to help him, I had to get him to a hospital. Placing him in the car carefully, I closed the door then got into the driver side and took off. Through Domino, the normal time it takes to get to the hospital is about ten mintes. I have it in three. Screeching to a hault infront of the hospital, I rushed inside and grabbed the first employee I met. It happened to be a male nurse.
"Can I help you, sir?" The nurse asked, looking at my hand gripping his uniform.
"There is a young man in the backseat of my car, right outside. I think he was severly beaten, but I'm not sure. Help him, now!" I commanded as the nurse swallowed and nodded. He walked around the receptionist's desk and into the back room before coming out with four other nurses and two doctors. They rushed out of the door and retrieved Joey, a stretcher following the group. The hospital was quiet, with the exception of the heater running though the building.
Joey was rushed by me, laying on the stretcher, my trench coat in tatters, resting on the foot of it. I began to follow him, but another doctor stopped me. He had ahold of my upper arm and was standing infront of me. I looked from the hand to his face and arched one shaply eyebrow, glaring at him.
"Yes?" I growled out, my tention and anger leaking out with that one word.
"I'm sorry sir but you may not go with him. If you will stay in the waiting room, someone will come to talk to you when we are finished with him. Also, are you family? Because we need you to fill out some papers on him." the man said, holding out a clipboard to me. I looked at him, then the clipboard before snatching it out of his hands.
"I'll fill out what I am able to." I said, before turning around in fustration and walking into the waiting room. Sitting down, I picked up the pen chained to the clipboard and looked at the first question. "Patience name..." /This is going to be a long wait./ I though, sighing to myself and starting on the form.
