Orchestral Romance

Shizuka felt as if she just wanted to blend into the crowd. She didn't know what possessed her to go to the concert, but... it certainly didn't make her feel as good as she hoped. and between the short jean skirt and pink belly top she was very cold, and the black platform sandals were killing her feet. She walked a little away from the crowd, sitting in the grass, and starring off into the setting sun.
Pegasus was sitting on a stone bench not far from the concert. The mass of people was just too much for him. He had decided that he liked it much better over here, the classical music drifting softly towards him. He closed his eyes to listen. However, his trance was interrupted by the clacking of heels behind him. Opening his eyes slightly, he looked at the newcomer. "The dusk is beautiful tonight, non?"
Shizuka looked up, shocked at the sudden voice, (Y-yes, it is...) she tucked her short bangs behind her ears. She looked a little flustered, pulling her skirt down over her thighs. (I'm sorry, I didn't mean...) she started to shuffle away slightly.
"Not at all. It's perfectly alright." His face fell into its usual amused expression. "Come sit." He gracefully slid over on the bench, making room for the girl.
Shizuka paused, standing up and brushing the grass off herself. (Thank you...) she sat down, crossing one leg over the other, and peered shyly at him, unsure of what to say. She hoped the eyeliner would cover the tear stains around her eyes, she was getting a little embarrassed because everyone had been seeing her so upset.
Pegasus hummed along slightly with the music, he could tell that the girl was upset. The negativity around her was like a large dark cloud. He shook back his hair and leveled his gaze at her again. "You seem... troubled?"
She did her best to smile at him. (A little... but its nothing to worry about, I'm just... suffering the effects of my stupid heart, that's all...) she looked away, concentrating on not crying.
"Matters of the heart are never easy, cherie." He looked back up at the sky, affording her some sense of privacy. "What is it that made you so upset?"
Shizuka looked at him carefully, listening to the soft music, and looking then over the crowd. (Well... Its really complicated... I don't really know how to explain it.... I'd have to tell you everything....)
Pegasus glanced at her with a look of pure sympathy. "You can tell me if you'd like. Or... not. I'm sure I seem a little silly to you. After all, we did just meet."
She cast a shy glance over at him. (You don't... for some reason people... people are always really nice to me, it can get confusing sometimes...) She sighed and held her arms around herself, looking at her feet. (Its just.... I was sad over a boy, a really mean boy, and another one came along and was all nice to me... and I found myself really liking him... but... I don't think its fair. he's got so much to worry about, and I'm just pestering him... its not fair to him, I'm... I'm sort of rebounding, and I shouldn't make him deal with that...)
The silver haired man leaned back, his hands supporting him on either side. "There are two ways of looking at everything," he sighed, "My opinion is that in the end, you can only please yourself." He smiled at her. "Do what you think is right for you."
Shizuka looked at him as if confused. (I... I don't think I could do that, I'm to concerned for other people...) She blushed a little and looked away. (I just feel like... I don't know, like I should disappear and make it so no one worries about me. I don't anyone, not either of those boys, to know where I am. They'd be able to deal with everything better if I was far away...) she didn't sound at all sad when she spoke, just thoughtful. (But that's a weird thing to want, isn't it?)
He reached out to touch her cheek, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "Our desires are never wrong," he stated, "They are simply... misunderstood sometimes. What we want is not always what other people want."
Shizuka blushed darkly, caught unable to look away somehow. (Well... it doesn't matter, I cant anyway... I'm stuck, my mom pays for my room here so I don't have any choice, Its... just that I feel embarrassed, that's all.)
Golden eyes glittered. "You could always get a job." He smirked slightly, as if laughing at a private joke.
(Hm? Well... I do have some nurse training... and even a uniform. But I'm not done my nurse training till June, who would hire me anyway... besides, I'm only fourteen you know. No one would take me seriously)
"I see." He absently tossed his hair over his shoulder, thinking. "That is a problem isn't it? However, if you are willing, I have a solution." Pegasus smiled warmly at her.
(... r-really? you do?) She looked surprised, her eyes wide and bright in the dusk. (What would that be?)
The elder took her hand and kissed it. "I am a business man after all, and sometimes there are just too many things for me to deal with at once. What would you say to becoming my secretary?" He looked up at her imploringly.
(R-really? Are you sure? I mean, I have medical training and regular grade school but I've never done anything like that... but I would do my best, of course!) She blushed as he kissed her hand, looking down at her feet again. (You are to kind to me...)
"Not at all." Pegasus waved a hand dismissively. "You seem like a very intelligent and caring girl."
(Thank you...) She shifted a little nervously. (Shall we work out the details later? I wouldn't want to interrupt you concert any more with business dealings...) she said softly, kicking her feet back and forth as she sat on the bench.
"We can if you'd like, but don't think that you're bothering me." He smiled and closed his eyes. "I've heard them play a thousand times and more." His eyes snapped open, and he quickly withdrew a card from his pocket, offering it to her. "My number and address."
(Thank you...) She took it and slipped it into the tiny pocket of her skirt. (I'll give you a call when I'm home and give you all my information... so you wont have to worry about remembering everything now...) She peered shyly at him. (Thank you very much... I cant wait, lately I just feel like.... I don't know, I really want to be someone else, and if I leave my little room in that boarding house and find somewhere else and disappear from those two... I think I would feel better.)
"That's very kind, thank you." He returned her glance with a smile, as always. It was enough to make one think that he was incapable of looking serious. "I'm very glad I could help you. And I'm sure that you're problems will solve in time."
Shizuka let out a long breath, feeling lighter. (I cant wait to get out of there...) She said with a faint smile, (feel something fresh and new...) She smiled back at him. (You're always smiling, you know.)
A hand flew to the back of his head as he laughed. "That's wonderful. And, yes... I do tend to smile most of the time don't I? Perhaps I should work on that..."
(Oh no, its very nice to be around someone like you, its... allot less worrying then the people I am used to.) She smiled a little wider and peered out into the crowd. (would it be alright if I called you from a friends house tonight? I don't want to go home at all.)
"It would be perfectly fine." He stood up and then offered his hand to her in order to help her stand as well.
Shizuka took his hand and stood as well, looking curiously at him. (... where are we going?) she strained her ears to see if the music had ended yet.
"It's not far." He turned and started walking, tugging her along behind him. They'd only gone a short distance before they stopped. It was a gazebo. Roses trailed up the white pillars, and the dome of the ceiling was covered in a mosaic mural of the heavens. It obviously had good acoustics too, for the waltz the orchestra was playing seemed louder here. Pegasus bowed with a flourish. "May I have this dance?"
Shizuka blushed scarlet, shyly nodding. (o-okay... but I'm not quite sure how) she stepped up to him and put a hand on his shoulder, her cheeks petal pink.
His hand came to rest lightly on her waist, the other enfolding her's in it's grasp. He began to move fluidly, as if he knew all the steps by heart. Which, of course, he did. "I'll show you," he said, gently guiding her.
Shizuka felt the blush in her cheeks but could do nothing to make it fade. She followed his steps, soon getting the hang of it. (This is... fun) She said with a sweet smile, looking up at him shyly.
“I’m glad you like it.” He twirled her around the dance floor flawlessly, moving in time to the music floating around them.
Shizuka blushed darkly, falling into step as best she could, trying not to trip. She giggled when twirling, looking up with glittering eyes. (wow, you're good at this....)
He grinned and leaned forward, dipping her low. "I've hat a lot of practice." Pegasus' eyes turned a liquid gold. "You're very good as well!"
She giggled gleefully as she was dipped, smiling up and blushing a little darker. (This is so much fun! I don't think I've ever danced like this before)
Pegasus pulled her back up and resumed the waltz. "Then we should do this more often." His hands were light on her waist as he guided her softly through the steps.
(... yeah, we should! I don't think I've felt so careless in well... forever) she looked up at him, a very blissful and carefree expression on her face, (Thank you, so so much!)
"It's my pleasure." The music eventually came to a close, and Pegasus released his partner. Pressing his lips to the back of her hand, he gave her a slight bow.
Shizuka looked down at her feet, feeling blush stain her entire face. (Th-thanks.... you're s-sweet...)
The elder lifted her face with his finger, so that she would look him in the eyes. "No, cherie, you are the sweet one." Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss to her cheek.
Shizuka squeaked softly, her knees suddenly feeling to weak as she wobbled a little, quite nearly falling.
Pegasus took a hold of her arm so that she wouldn’t fall. She really did have the most amusing reactions to him. Making sure that she was balanced enough to stand on her own two feet, he let her go. The orchestra onstage had begun to pack up, and the audience members were filing out. Pegasus sighed. “All good things must come to an end. This night is no exception I suppose.” He gave her a half smile. “Will you be able to get home, or shall I have my car drop you off?”
