Learning from light and darkness
Hello, I'm the Malevolent Nuzzler and this is my second attempt at a Fanfic (the first was deleted due to its crappiness Oo). I hope you enjoy it!
This Fanfic starts out PG-13 but may rise in rating due to eventual Yugi x Yami slash . Yami went to the afterlife in this fic, but missed his Hikari so much he returned.
WARNING: ANZU (Tea in dubbed series) BASHING (I find her annoying, but thankfully she only will make a few appearences to embrass a certain Professor coughsnapecough) SPOILERS: End of YuGiOh, PS, CoS, PoS, GoF and OotP. (Im ignoring HBP and book seven. I dont think Sev's evil because I think Dumbledore was pleading with Sev to actually Kill him so there was still a spy to help the light side, otherwise due to the Unbreakable vow Sev would of died.) Key for whole fic:
/Yugi to Yami/
//Yami to Yugi//
Beast Talk (hint hint .)
:Parseltongue:
Sorry for going on so long, so...On with the fic!
Disclaimer- I do not own YuGiOh or Harry Potter, nor am I making any money form this masterpiece breaks down in hysterics I WANT THEM SO MUCH sob
It was a dark night in Domino City, and a light breeze swept outside the Kame Game Shop as its inhabitants slept... or at least pretended to.
Yami had returned from the afterlife after missing his friends so much. Well, thats what he told everyone anyway. The real reason he came back was because he finally realised he loved his Hikari. He worked out he had feelings deeper than that of a crush after the duel with Raphael where he'd lost Yugi's soul. He vowed never to lose him again, even if Yugi didn't feel the same way.
Little did Yami know that his Light was in the next bed longing for the same thing. He had missed his Yami so much when he had left, and wanted him to stay with him forever, as a lover if possible. When Yami came back he felt his heart was going to burst, and it took everything he had not to run up and kiss him, and declare his undying (no pun intended) love.
Yugi and Yami had been named Gods of Light and Dark by the Egyptian High God Ra. They gained access to the Shadow realm and the newly discovered Light realm. Yami's powers were for offensive magic, while Yugi's powers were mainly for defense and healing, though they could use eachothers realms if neccessary. They had grown wings, to everyones shock (especially Yami and Yugi's when they had woken up suddenly to find something very large sticking out of their back. Grandpa had promptly fainted) that they could hide; Yami's are glossy black with a golden tint and Yugi's white with alternate silver feathers which seemed to glow. They could speak to every beast except serpents, but that wasn't a problem as Yugi was a natural born Parselmouth.
Every Hikari and Yami became immortal but Ryou, Malik, Bakura and Marik only had basic powers, not the fully developed powers of the gods, something the Tomb Robber was not happy about, especially when Yami laughed at him when he was sulking. The Hikaris also received the power to expell emotions in their voices, and for some weird reason the Yamis could also, but using instruments instead. As you can probably guess, they make one hell of a band. Together they spent the next four years studying and mastering all different kinds of ancient magic- Greek, Egyptian, Inca and many more, and then moved to modern magic, especially the kind used by wizards.
They even made their own staffs, as they had too much power for a regular wand. Yamis staff was made of black gold with a silver griffin at its head holding a pure black crystal, the focus of the magic. Yugis was a silver staff with a black basilisk twisting its way up to reat beside a pure white crystal. Luckily they found a way for all the Hikaris and Yamis to make their staffs look like regular wands so as not to arouse suspicion.
//Good morning Yugi// sent Yami when he heard Yugi move //It's only 6:00, you can go back to sleep if you want//. Yami tried not to stare as his Aibou stretched, revealing a smooth pale stomach. He shook his head to dispel the naughty thoughts.
/No, we've got to get to our new workplace early so may as well get a head start./
They finished getting dressed (in there usual leather ofcourse ), while secretly drooling over eachother and packing the remaining items into their trunks before shinking them with their wandless magic, something they would need to keep secret. The pair then heard Grandpa shouting. They looked at each other, and something wordlessly passed between them, causing them to grin mischeviously.
They had found while experimenting with magic that it was possible to apparate silently, so they came to be stood behind the older man, creeping slowly and finally coming to a halt a few feet away.
"Yami! Yugi! Get up! NOW! You'll miss the first day of your new job!" Solomon Mutou cried up the stairs, unaware of the two twin-like beings behind him.
"GRANDPA!" They shouted, and Yami and Yugi burst out laughing at the now scowling elder man. He had jumped so high he'd cracked his head on the banister, an impressive feat for a man so short.
"How the hell d'you do that?"
"We studied wizard magic remember? That was Apparition!" They explained once they had found their voices "We can get there in seconds, especially if we add a bit of our own magic" Yugi supplied. They had improved nearly all wizard spells by adding some 'wickedly-cool-freaky god-magic' as Joey liked to call it making apparition not only silent, but able to get past Anti-Apparition wards, even in Hogwarts.
As easy as the journey would be, leaving was harder they they expected. Grandpa burst into tears when they announced they were ready to leave, then grabbed his grandsons in a hug that they thought would kill them, immortal or not. He then only let go when they promised to owl every three days, and to buy him an owl so he could pester- I mean, send lovingmessages to them.
Once they finally they left the shop, pointedly ignoring the wailing from within, they apparated to there new job, having the feeling they would be needed in this modern magical comminity.
