chapter 1

A/N: In this story, Seth and Atemu weren't cousins. Just keep that in mind and please don't forget to review.

Chapter 1

Seto Kaiba was sitting in his lavish leather chair in his office, thinking. His secrets were getting a lot harder to keep ever since those stupid Yamis got their own bodies. He had viciously tried to deny the fact that he was ever a high priest in ancient Egypt but he remembered it nonetheless. He remembered everything. His dreams wouldn’t let him forget. How could he forget?

Not many people in ancient Egypt knew his private life well. The pharaoh seemed to think he knew Seth better than anyone else, but he was wrong. He and Atemu were lovers and even though he had told his pharaoh many times in bed how much he loved him, his heart belonged to another.

He had kept it a secret from the pharaoh for the one he loved also happened to be the one that hated the pharaoh more than anything. But no matter, it had all been a long time ago and he was no longer Seth, he was Seto.

Seth had not been locked in an item like the pharaoh and the tomb-robber. His spirit was not trapped, it was set free to be reborn time after time again. He had lived many lives, known many people, had many lovers. He had been present for some of history’s most important moments. He had done much good to the world, just like he had also done much bad. He had female lovers as well as male lovers; and he had fallen in love many times over his lifetimes.

That’s why he couldn’t tell him; he couldn’t tell them. Atemu, if he ever found out that Seto remembered, would want to hear of his life and he just wasn’t ready to tell his former lover of many millennia ago all that happened. Atmeu had made it clear to him that he still loved him.

Seto sighed again. How could he explain to the other all that happened? He had promised his pharaoh that he would always love him. So how was he to tell him that he never loved him? How could he tell him that he only slept with the other simply to keep his pharaoh happy so that he may be the one to rule to Egypt?

Yes, that’s right. He ruled Egypt. Everyone obeyed the pharaoh, but the pharaoh obeyed him. He could influence Atemu’s every decision any way he wanted to. He could make the pharaoh do anything he wanted like a good little dog.

Seto smirked. He had missed those days. But over the thousands of years he had blocked those memories out. But now, he couldn’t do that any more. Not with the pharaoh and not with his first love so close to him once more. He cursed the day when they got their own bodies. At least, when they were still mere souls he could pretend that they didn’t exist. Now, they were back in the flesh and they both kept dropping him hints. Those omnipresent innuendos to his past sexual and spiritual relations were driving him mad now.

Pretending that he didn’t remember had worked so far. However, ever since seeing the tomb-robber shirtless and with another guy (curse that Marik) Seth had realized that he still loved Bakura. Damn it, the tomb-robber was his. Actually, in their relationship he belonged to the tomb-robber, but still. And to make matters worse, Atemu was trying to make him remember their relationship every day and it was just too much for Seto. He didn’t love the pharaoh… that much. But curse it all he still had feelings for the other. It is hard trying to deny and hurt someone who loved you for the thousands of years.

Seto sighed again. He couldn’t keep up the charade much longer. The memories of him with both his lovers were haunting his every dream and their presence was not making the matter any easier on him. Besides, he thought that he was also falling in love with two other people. Ryou had caught his eye form the first moment he had seen him due to his striking resemblance to Bakura. And for the other, well, every lifetime he had fallen in love with someone new, and this lifetime, that someone came in the form of a blond god, Jounouchi Katsuya.

He was one messed up person and he knew it. His life could be made into a soap opera easily. All that was missing was a pregnant girl that claimed that he was the father of her baby and he would have himself a soap opera. Thank gods he had his company to run. If he dedicated all his time to his company and brother and avoided everyone else, maybe he wouldn’t have to confront his past.

But of course, just when he thought he had gotten his feelings and memories under control again, his brother had brought up another matter to him. He had made a promise to his brother, Mokuba, that if the younger got all straight A’s and obeyed him for the whole second semester, he would grant the other one wish. Guess what that wish was when the school year was over and Mokuba had met all the requirements Seto had set for him.

He was being forced to accompany his brother on a trip to the woods for three weeks with Yugi and every member of his gang, including Malik and Marik. Oh, boy! A whole vacation, alone in the woods, with Yami trying to restore their relationship and Bakura fucking Marik right in front of him. If that wasn’t enough, that annoying brunet girl, the blond slut that was all over his puppy, and those two looser brunets (the one with the dice and his lover, Honda? was it?) were gong to be there also. He could just imagine the friendship freak giving one of her many boring and seemingly endless speeches and Mai trying to seduce Jou (whom Seto had wanted to claim as his in this lifetime). Wasn’t he just the luckiest guy on the planet?

Seto sighed again. These were going to be the longest 21 days of all his lives put together. Well, he should start preparing now. They were supposed to leave for his cabin in the woods (how Mokuba ever persuaded him into buying a cabin in the woods was beyond him) tomorrow and it was already nightfall.

So Seto Kaiba typed in a few last orders that were to be carried out while he was away. Being typical Seto Kaiba, of course, he hadn’t given his employees any time off. Everything was to proceed as if he were there. The supervisors had his business cell phone number just in case an emergency came up. So having written down his final orders, Seto Kaiba got up and left his office, leaving the memo on his secretary’s desk.

This was going to be one… interesting (for the lack of a better word) trip and he needed to prepare for it.
