I am unable to give you anything on this day, a gift to show you how much I care. Though perhaps any physical presents wouldn’t show you how deeply I care for you. As I gaze out of your eyes from within the realm, the confusion of the Puzzle I realize just how much I long to be able to shower you with affections in the form of gifts like your friends do at this moment, on your special day. How much I long to be able to share this with you in my own body but sadly that’s not to be so I watch from your, our collective mind and through your innocent eyes.

::What’s wrong, Yami?:: The innocent and soft mental voice cuts into my musings and I smile.

::It’s nothing, partner.::

::Something I think.:: was the soft reply from my other and perhaps better half. He was still distracted by the party with his friends and Grandpa at the moment but that didn’t stop him from speaking with me as well.

::I just wish that I could show you how much I care like your friends are this day.::

::I already know how much you care. You really don’t need to shower me with gifts because you’ve already given me the best gift there ever was. Your love. Besides I’m sure you’ll think of a way to make this day special for me tonight.::

The youth blushed as he appeared in the confusing, golden recesses of the Puzzle to regard me with a somehow still innocent look after suggesting something like that. A small smirk creeps onto my face to try and cover the blush that had started to stain my cheeks.

::It’s hard to believe that you can still look so innocent and yet be far from it, Yugi.::

The boy gave a chuckle and grinned at me and my heart ached. How had I been so lucky to have found not only my best friend but the one I adored and loved in the same person? The one person who had done so much for me in so little an amount of time. I loved him with all of my heart and there was no way to deny that. At least that love was returned by the other. It seemed so odd to think it hadn’t been that long ago when we had confessed our feelings. Of course then again when hearts and souls such as ours are as closely knit it’s a wonder we were able to keep the secrets from one another for so long.

::Yami?:: Yugi blinked up at me and my attention was pulled back to him. ::You alright?::

::Yes, I’m fine. I was just thinking.::

Yugi gave me that grin once more and I smiled in return at him.

“Hey! Yug come on and cut the cake will ya, I’m starving‘. ” Joey called out and Yugi’s attention went there with an apologetic comment given to me. Though I didn’t mind I could once more go back to watching him which was something that I loved doing. It was a pleasure to watch the one you loved so closely all the time. A soft sigh escaped my lips as I once more went back to thinking about the first time we had told each other our feelings. Had it really been so recent? It was hard to believe how far our relationship had come since that night. There was nothing I would ever change about it, nothing at all.

::Yami?:: Yugi said into his mind once more. ::We’re getting ready to leave and we should be home soon. I thought you would want to know since you seemed so caught up in your thoughts there.:: There was the musical sound of a giggle from the youth and I chuckled.

::Thank you Yugi.::

::Hey, you know something. Since we don’t know when your birthday is we’ll make today your birthday too. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before. I think everyone would like to say the cheesy old Happy Birthday to you too.::

I pondered a moment. Yugi was right not knowing anything of my past beyond the fact that I was once a pharaoh my birthday just like my name was a mystery. A smile came to my lips and I nodded and switched places with my other self though in my mind this was still his special day so I didn’t stay long, just enough for everyone to wish me well on this day. After that I retreated into my world feeling even more a part of theirs for them having thought of me today. We all parted ways and Yugi headed back for the Game Shop carrying to gifts his friends had given him and I was once more upset that there was nothing I could give him.

:: Don’t worry Yami you give me more than enough. I don’t need gifts like these from you. I really don’t even need them from my friends but you know how they are.::

::You seemed to have gotten a few things you liked though.::

::Yeah, I did but still but what you give me is the best gift ever.::

::And what you give me is the best gift as well, partner. I trust you‘ll come to the Puzzle tonight?::

::Of course! Right when I get home. I don’t want to keep you waiting after all.::

::Good.:: I purred softly leaving Yugi’s thoughts with the sensation of a mental kiss before leaving. Perhaps, there had been something in that kiss that made Yugi even more eager to get back home because it seemed that he moved fast from that point to me. I found myself just as eager if not more so to see him, the one I loved. I only hoped I could give him a good present. Though in the realm of the Puzzle anything was possible. It was then I went about making my plans for our meeting. Everything had to be perfect.

“Yami?” came the echoing sweet voice down the corridor.

“Yes, Yugi. It’s good to see you.”

I wasted no time in gathering the star pajama glad one into my strong arms and holding him to me, my face buried in his neck softly, kissing his skin lightly a moment before I pulled away my hand firmly in his. Yugi blushed at me.

“That was an enthusiastic welcome.”

“Is that a bad thing?”

“Not at all, Yami!” then Yugi gently reached up and kissed my cheek and I felt my body on fire for him. Slowly, I lifted him into my arms and carried him away gazing into his eyes the entire time while every few steps I kissed him.

“I love being with you Yugi.”

“Mmmhmmm.” Yugi said softly as he nuzzled my chest. “I love being with you too.”

“My Yugi.”

The boy blushed and I smiled going back to kissing his neck lightly as we walked soon stopping at a place that we had decided to call our own. While the realm of the Puzzle was nothing more than a place filled with ghostly sensation; confusing hallways and doors we didn’t care. It was the one place where we could be together to be alone without having to concern ourselves with the outside world.

“Yami….” came Yugi’s hushed whisper.

“Yugi…my Yugi…” my body stretched over his lightly.

“I love you….Yami….”

Within our hearts we felt our love and the love making with the intensity of it being real, of it being something more than a mental encounter. The bond we share making it so much more to the both of us. A bond that none would ever really understand. We’re not sure we understand it but it’s a wonderful blessing to both of us and I would never change it. There is nothing about all of this I would change for each instance brought us closer together, made us understand one another and made us stronger.

“Yugi.”

Our bodies collide and all vestiges of innocence are gone, save for my Yugi’s beautiful eyes that even now while caught up in the throes of passion are still filled with a delicate look. Lips explore, nip and suck searching for all the special places to illicit the wonderful series of moans from the younger. Fingers stroke, caress and fondle as we both reach that wonderful point, the place where the height of our passion spills over into that one moment of explosion. We both meeting that moment at the same time making it’s intensity even better, stronger and more wonderful. Then both spent we lay there sighing contently.

“My love for you and how I choose to show it is my gift to you, Yugi.” I said softly.

“And my love and devotion to you and the willingness to give you my body is my gift in return.” was the soft answer. Both of us needing nothing now but to be beside one another.
