What happens?

Summery: Joey has been acting strange and won’t tell the gang what he is up to. What will they do?

Chapter 1.


Yugi watched as Joey came up with yet another feeble excuse for not being able to hang out. Now normally he wouldn’t mind if his blond friend didn’t hang out with them all the time but his absences were becoming more frequent and that was worrying.
So that is why that night Yugi asked the rest of the gang what they thought.
“He has been pretty out of it lately.” Tristan said. “And he’s been acting strangely.”
“Yeah I now what you mean.” Yami said. “He’s been speaking very differently.”
“Not to mention buying everything for us and always having money left over.” Tristan added.
“Maybe he has an after school job.” Ryou said.
“But wouldn’t he have told us if he did?” Yugi asked.
Bakura was about to say something when a loud revving was heard from in front of the game shop. The gang ran to the window to see Joey waving at them from a sparkling brand new Harley.
“Hey guys!” Joey shouted. “You gonna let me in or what?”
Once Joey was inside he was bombarded by questions the most frequent one being: “Where did you get the bike?”
“So you guys like it.” He laughed avoiding the question. “Well I just dropped by to show her to you but I gotta get going. I have to meet someone.”
There was a silence before.
“What kind of after school job pays enough for that?” Bakura asked. None could answer them. That was when they hatched their plan. They would follow Joey the next day to find out what was happening.
Unfortunately for the gang the opportunity to follow Joey didn’t occur until the next week. It was the next Friday when Joey made another excuse. Yugi nodded to the rest of the gang when Joey left. And so the chase began.
They all piled up into Ryou’s dad’s car and chased after Joey’s Harley. Their curiosity was increased when Joey made his way to the wealthy side of Domino. They finally stopped outside a large mansion.
Bakura pulled out a pair of binoculars to see what was going on.
“Oh Ra he’s at Kaiba’s place!” he exclaimed as he saw Mokuba run toward Joey.
“He works at Kaiba’s?” Yugi questioned.
“Maybe he looks after Mokuba when Kaiba isn’t there.” Ryou explained.
“Well that would rake in all that money.” Tristan shrugged as they turned the car.
So the gang seemed to have their answers. Joey worked for Kaiba and he wouldn’t want to tell them that he did, but then why did they have the feeling that there was something more to it? It didn’t make sense to them that Kaiba would allow Joey in his house and they knew that Joey would never go to Kaiba if he had a problem. So what was happening?
Bakura stood up and made his way to the door.
“Bakura what are you doing?” Yami asked.
“I’m going to get the ring so we can see what is going on.” Bakura answered.
“How about we do that tomorrow.” Tristan said. “Joey blew me off for tomorrow so he’ll probably be at Kaiba’s.”
The gang agreed that they would meet the next day at Ryou’s house to find out what was going on.


I know it’s kinda short but it does get better and longer (I hope). So please review.
