Yuugi is dying…
the doctors try to hide it, but…
Why, Yuugi?
Why did this have to happen to you? … To us?
Red eyes gaze dully down at the
pale, motionless body before him. Yuugi… You did nothing wrong… nothing to
deserve this…
He is the only
visitor in this room. Where are the others? Don’t they care? Or were they hurt
too? In the explosion? Yuugi needs his friends beside him now… more than ever
before… We were all in the back of the classroom… Except for Kaiba, who was
still working, still mixing his chemicals in the front of the lab… And Ryou,
who was helping the teacher tell the eighth-graders about the class, the lab…
and you, Aibou, writing at one of the front desks…
Then… when
something exploded (probably Kaiba’s experiment)… Yuugi was not the only one injured.
Ryou and the teacher were killed outright. Some of the kids as well, Mokuba
Kaiba among them… that much was obvious even in the chaos. Bakura was on his
knees in the corner, screaming. He knew Ryou was dead. He could feel that
emptiness where his hikari used to be… that absence of light… Kaiba looked
dead. It didn’t matter, though. None of it mattered. All that mattered was
getting to Yuugi…
Getting to
you, Aibou…
The machines
beep reassuringly to tell the visitor that the small one on the bed is, indeed,
alive. That they’re doing their job and keeping him alive.
All that
mattered… all that still matters. Yuugi… Nothing else matters. I would happily
have killed all of those children myself and damned their innocent souls to be
devoured by Amemit, if it meant that you would be okay… If it meant that you
would wake up…
Yuugi… Why?
