Gone With The Wind
Gone with the Wind
A Yugioh Fanfiction [One-Shot]
By: Legacy
Genre: Romance/Angest
Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own Yugioh or else I wouldn't be writing these corny romance fics. Hell, if it were up to me there would be no duel monster shits in the damn story. Besides, I'm not as smart as Kazuki Takahashi and the rest of those people who made the series. The point is: this fanfic is for fun not profit. !!!DO NOT SUE!!!
My first fic. Yay! Well, not really first since I posted an original on adultfanfiction a while back("Shadows" by Legacy, if you're interested, no there is no lemon. i'm not good at it. pout.). But that doesn't really count as a fanfis, huh. I'm sorry about the spelling and grammar mistakes, if there are any. I'm still stuck with WordPad. I got a few pairings in the story, obviously. Well, more like a love triangle. No flames about them, 'kay? I don't have much to work with, since I hate the main character being OC. The story might be over rated, since I don't want to risk anything. Important: Everything in this fic about the Meji [Not Meiji. That's completely different.] came from the top of my almost empty head, so don’t go and believe it’s true. The Meji do exist [I think] and they are from Egypt. [I’m too lazy to go on the web and search for the info myself.] THAT IS ALL I KNOW!!! Anyway... I was thinking of making this fic into a multi chapter thing with enough reviews, but that plan went to hell. I'll post one up later on, when I have more time. But.... who cares! On with the story!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A pink petal fell from high above as the wind picked up. Tea extended her hand and let it land gently on her palm. For a moment she just stood there, motionless, staring down at it.
“It must feel good...to let the wind carry you...”
Just then, the wind picked up again, taking the petal with it. Tea followed it with her eyes as it floated into the distance. As soon as the pink fragment was out her sight, she turned her head and looked at the huge cherry tree she stood under. It seemed so majestic and beautiful, blossoms on every branch.
“Enjoying the view?”
Tea closed her eyes and sighed, know who it was. She turned around to face the other brunette. Bright blue eyes met icy ones. Why would he ask such a stupid question? She put her hands on her hips, a gesture of attitude.
“Of course, Seto. Who wouldn't?”
He shrugged and looked up at the cherry tree.
‘What was it about places like this that warms human hearts?’
A small smile crept on the edge of his lips. A real smile. Not of sarcasm or pride, but a real, genuine smile. A smile rare, yet warm to those lucky enough to see it. He still couldn't believe he and Tea were together. In all his life he--or anyone else--would have never imagined them together. They were different. Too different. She was an over optimistic cheerleader and he was the teenage CEO of a multi million dollar company. Yet here they were, standing under a hundred year old cherry tree.
‘Strange...the way we got here in the first place...’
“Four months in this house and know nothing about you.”
“That's your fault.”
“How is it my fault?”
Seto just rolled his eyes. He had been sitting in his office, working on the computer before she had walked in. Tea had never seen anyone sit in front of a computer screen for so long in her life. She was sure it was unhealthy for any person, even the great Seto Kaiba. She had to get him off that chair and out of his office. Seto finally looked up at her as Tea walked around the dark, mohogony desk, stroking it softly with her fingers. She came to his side and grabbed his arm gently.
“Huh?”
With that, she gave him a good pull. Seto, who hadn't expected anything, tossed to the side a bit before pulling back. He, obviously, was stronger then her, so she ended up being the one pulled forward. In the struggle, Tea tripped and fell on Seto, who had turned his chair to face her. Awkward silence. Both faces flushed. The shadows were their blanket, since the only light in the room was coming from the computer screen. Neither one saw the red on each others faces. They were so close...
After what seemed to be a lifetime, Tea shamefully ducked her head, closer into Seto's chest.
“I'm sorry. I...”
She turned even redder when she noticed what she was doing. Tea slowly began to push away from him, when Seto moved his hand and gently cupped her cheek. She froze and looked up at him, noticing how close they really were. She could feel the warmth of his breath on her face. She looked up at his eyes, his deep, blue eyes. They were half lidded and there was a small smile curled on his face, something Tea had gotten used to seeing by now. She soon found her own eyes heavy, and there, she and Seto shared their first kiss.
Death. Everyone dies. Some peacefully, surrounded by family. Of illness or old age. People say it is unfortunate to die at a young age or in an accident. But it is better to die in an accident then to be killed, a least that's what Tea told herself. Her parents were dead. Both young and healthy. Both murdered. They had invited another young couple to dinner, old friends of the family. Sonosuke Higurashi and Robert Gardner were coworkers, as Ryoko Higurashi and Elizabeth Gardner. Not to mention that both families also had seventeen year old daughters, at the time. Tea and Rumiko had gone shopping. Girls' night out--luck. Everyone in the Gardner household died that day. Four victims. Two orphans. A crime never solved. There were no leads. No suspects. Nothing.
“Miss Gardner, I'm sorry about your parents. I know you need time to recover, but right now we need to find you a place to stay.”
Tea looked up at Sergeant Takahashi with red, restless eyes. She hadn't gotten a good night's rest in days and it was getting to her. She couldn't think, she couldn't feel, she couldn't even cry anymore. It was just too much to take in.
“Can't I just stay at home?”
A small whisper. She didn't feel like dealing with this now. She was so weak, so hurt... Takahashi gave Tea a compassionate look. He hated this. Telling people their loved ones have died. It was at times like this that he felt so powerless.
“You know you can't do that. You're underage. The only way you can stay on your own, if is you get a job and are able to support yourself. I'm sorry.”
Tea looked down at her hands, which were folded on her lap. She knew that would be his answer. She had tried to balance a job and school before. Not a good idea. The only person she would call a guardian would be her aunt from her mother's side, since her father was an only child, but she lived outside the country.
“What else... can I do?”
“Well...”
Takahashi sighed. How could he put this?
“You will probably be sent to a foster home until your at age. Then you'll be given the insurance money and the house, since your parents owned it. Once it is handed to you, you can do what you want with it. Rent it. Sell it. Live in it. It's up to you.”
‘Six months. I can deal with that... can't I?’
“I recommend you stay at the foster home. I understand Domino High has strict rules when it comes to employment.”
After a long list of paperwork, Tea left the police station. It had started raining only a little while ago, yet the water was falling hard. The wind picked up, a blow like ice. Tea wrapped her arms around her body and started to walk. When she notice what she was doing she stopped, soaking from head to toe.
'I don't even know were I'm going...'
Just then a slick, black limousine pulled up to the curve. The door opened and Tea found herself staring at a very serious Seto Kaiba.
"Get in."
Ringing. Nothing but ringing. Why the hell did the phone have to ring in the middle of the night, while everyone was sleeping? Seto quickly picked it up, not wanting to wake up Tea, who was lying right next to him. He hadn't even bothered to open his eyes.
‘Damn the guy who invented these things!’
Seto knew he couldn't survive without phones. They were the only thing keeping him from his office 24/7, but right now he wasn't in the mood for this. He gave a quick look at the clock on the side desk next to his bed before closing his eyes again. 2:09AM. Who ever called had no knowledge of time, apparently.
“What the fuck do you want?”
#Mr. Kaiba?#
Seto sat up and slowly opened his tired eyes. His secretary? Something was wrong. Very wrong. Why else would she be calling in the middle of the night? A pause. He was still half asleep and needed time to process.
#Mr. Kaiba?#
“Huh? Oh. What is it, Hiromi? What happened?”
He quickly wipped his hand across his face, a vain effort to rub out the exhaustion.
#Sir, I'm sorry to wake you up, but I have bad news.We need you at the office right away. There seems to be a hack in the system. Files have been copied, Mr. Kaiba. We can't tracked down the hacker. All we know is that he is planning to plant a virus into the main computer tomorrow at midnight#
“What?”
Seto whispered to himself, as he grabbed his hair loosely. There was no way anyone could hack into his system. He had the perfect program for crying out loud.
#Excuse me, sir?#
“Hiromi, are you sure it's a hacker?”
#Yes, Mr. Kaiba.#
“How do you know about the virus?”
#He sent an email, sir.#
“And you still can't track him?!”
#I'm sorry, sir, but we've tried that already. Maybe you could get a hold of him.#
“Fine. I'll be there right away.”
With that, Seto hung up.
‘How the hell did this happen?’
“Seto, is something wrong?”
“Go back to sleep, Tea.”
“Seto?”
Seto looked at Tea with caring eyes. Worry was written all over her face. She was so confused. Seto cupped her cheek with his hand and began to stroke it gently with his thumb. He loved her so much....
“Something happened at the office. Go back to sleep.”
He gave her a soft kiss on the forehead and she laied back down on the king-sized bed, her eyes heavy. She had been sleeping there since a night, two months ago. October 25, Seto’s birthday and the night they confessed their love for each other. A week after thier first kiss. A night niether of them would ever forget.
“Are you going there now?”
Seto nodded. Tea smirked, something he didn't see in the dark. She turned on her side and closed her eyes. Seto just sat there, looking down on her.
“Well, what are you waiting for? Go.”
“I love you, Tea.”
Tea gave off a soft moan and he stood up, off the bed.
‘A hacker, huh?’
“What do I have to fill out now, Sergeant?”
A bored and aggravated tone. Tea was tired of all this. Her parents died almost a year ago, no eleven months and two weeks to be exact, and Takahashi was still calling her to come to the police station.
“I didn't call you here to fill out forms or anything of the sort.”
“Then what do you want?”
She knew she was being rude, but these moments were not exactly happy.
“Tea, do you remember when I told you that we found nothing at the crime scene that would lead to a suspect?”
“Yeah. So?”
“Well, we have been examining the bullets removed from the victims’ bodies. They seem to have all same mark, which means they all came from the same gun, so we know there was only one gunholder.”
Tea lowered her head. Half of her didn't want to be here right now, yet the rest of her wanted to know who killed her parents, who ruined her life. She wanted that bastard dead or at least in jail for life. After a long silence, Takahashi decided to continue. He knew Tea needed to here this.
“We also noted the bullets are nine millimeters, most likely from a semiautomatic.”
Tea didn't lift her head. She just spoke, her voice soft and quiet.
“I thought you couldn't tell who did it by the bullets.”
“We can't, but we can track down who made the gun.”
She looked up, shock on her face.
“Doesn't that mean you can find out who's gun the bullets came from?”
“Not excactly.”
“Oh....”
Tea lowered her gaze again. This was all so confusing.
“Most guns mark the bullets as they are fired. The mark, similar to a bar code, is never the same in different guns. The guns that don't leave a mark are usually handmade. Handmade guns, most of the time, carry handmade bullets. These bullets are almost always marked by the owner. The mark can be a number, a name, initials, even a small picture or symbol. Tea, the bullets found in the victims' bodies all had the same mark.”
Takahashi reached into a drawer on the left side of his desk and took out a small ziplock bag. ‘EVIDENCE’ was written on it with black marker and there was a small piece of paper inside it. There was also a bronze bullet, which Takahashi took out of the bag and handed it to Tea.
“Look.”
She slowly looked up and took the bullet in her hand. She carefully searched it, looking for the “mark” Takahashi had mentioned and there it was. It was small but still visible, still understandable. It was an eye. An eye she new all to well.
“The Eye of Horus.”
“Yes. We've been looking into it, but all we know is that the gun most likely from a Meji.”
“A Meji?”
“I'm sorry, Tea, but I don't know much about the Meji. I can’t answer any questions.”
Tea handed the bullet back to Takahashi and stood up to leave.
‘The Meji... Aren't they from Egypt?’
“Tea, where’s my brother?”
Tea loked down at soft blue eyes. Mokuba was like a little brother to her and it hurt to see him so worried, yet again, Mokuba was Seto's only brother and they couldn’t be any closer.
“I’m not sure, Mokuba. He went to the office last night and he hasn’t come back yet. And it’s... Oh my God, it’s six. Call Seto on his cell, ‘kay. I’m gonna start up on dinner.”
“Okay.”
Mokuba ran to the phone as Tea went into the kitchen. He quickly dialed Seto’s cellphone number, one of his brother’s many phone connetions, which he had all memorized. He, then polped himself on the couch and waited pateintly for his brother to pick up. Three rings later, he did.
#Hello?#
“Hi, Seto.”
#Mokuba, I’m busy right now. What is it?#
“Nothing. I... I was just worried that’s all. I mean you left in the middle of the night....”
Mokuba trailed off. He cared a lot for his big brother and now Seto was becoming so distant, since Tea became his girlfriend, anyway.
#*sigh*#
Seto should have known better than not to call home. With all his current problems he hadn’t thought of anything else, not even his beloved little brother or Tea.
#Mokuba... You know what?#
“What?”
#You’re the Vice President of this company and I should have told you in the first place.#
“Told me what, Seto?”
#Mokuba, Kaiba Corp is in trouble.#
“What do you mean?”
#A hacker is threatening to send a virus throught the entire system by focusing on the main computer.#
“What?”
#The worst part is that he keeps sending emails and we still can’t track the fucking bastard.#
Mokuba ignored the fact that Seto was swearing. He knew his brother only spoke that way when he was mad or stressed, and now he could tell Seto was both.
“Isn’t there anything else you can do?”
#Well... In the last email he sent, he said he’d be willing to meet up with me, but....#
“But what?”
#He’s wants to meet up somewhere in America. Obviously that’s were he is, I just don’t know where.#
“You should go.”
#But Mokuba... what about you and Tea?#
“Don’t worry about us. You have to protect Kaiba Corp. It’s all we have....”
#Fine. I’ll go, but I want you to protect Tea. While I’m gone you’re the man of the house.#
“Okay! I’ll do my best, Seto.”
#Okay, then. Tell Tea. I should be home by tomorrow or maybe the day after that. Don’t miss me too much.#
“Oh, I won’t. Bye, Seto.”
#Bye, Mokuba.#
With that Mokuba hung up and ran to the kitchen to talk to Tea. He wasn’t going to let his big brother down, not now, not ever.
After dinner and Mokuba’s long explaination of Kaiba Corp’s crisis, Tea headed up the stairs to Seto’s office. She still couldn’t forget what Takahashi had told her that morning.
‘“...all we know is that the gun most likely from a Meji.” All I know about the Meji is that they’re from Egypt, but why would someone kill them. The only Egyptians I know are Marik, Ishizu, and Odion and my parents didn’t even know them. I need to know more about the Meji. Maybe then...’
Tea carefully turned the nob and pushed the door open. She turned on the light and slowly walked over to the mohogony desk. So many memories in one room. She turned the chair and sat down gently on it. The computer was already on, so she quickly logged into the internet.
“Alright, let’s try Google...”
Tea quickly typed in the website and then the word “Meji” in the search browser. A click on “Search” and the screen changed.
<1 of 1 site(s) found...>
‘One site?’
‘A goverment site...’
Tea clicked on the site and the web page opened. Arabic. It was all in Arabic. Tea scrolled down the page, searching for anything that was understandable. One the bottom of the page, were a few words in English. Thankfully, her father had taught her some English so, Tea could basiclly understand what it said. There was a copyright, a customer service link, and a United States link.
‘Maybe...’
Tea double-clicked on the link and the page opened. It seemed to be the same site, except it was all in English. Tea slowly began to read the text, taking in all the important information.
[A/N: In case you didn’t read the first note, most of the following info is off the top of my head. In other words it is not all true. The website is made up as well and if exists, oh well. I haven’t gone on the site so, I wouldn’t know.]
The rest of the site just went on into details of punishments and crimes or inccidents the Meji caused during their quest for justice. It also mentioned how the Meji fought for the people and their rights, not just for themselves.
'For the people... how can they fight for the people if they spend their time killing them?!'
Angry, Tea logged out and went to her room, banging the door and locking herself inside. She just couldn't get out of her mind how the Meji called what they did justice. She was sure now. Her proof was on that site. The Meji's mark was the Eye of Horus and the bullet Takahashi--
"That's it!"
Tea grabed her cellphone and called the only person who could help put together the puzzle she had just brought into her life.
"Tea?"
"I need to talk to you."
"Tea, what was so important that you had to call me out so late, with such excitment none the less?"
Tea looked at the time on her cellphone. 11:07pm. She then looked the weary sergeant, apology written all over her face.
"I'm sorry, it's just I really need to clarify something."
"And that something would be...?"
Takahashi looked at the young girl with curious eyes. Questions wouldn't stop popping into is head. Was there something she knew that he didn't? Did it have to do with her parents' murder? What did she really know about this?
"I... I need to see that bullet again, please. I promise to explain everything, but I need to see it again."
Takahashi could see the wanting in Tea's eyes, eyes who had lost their innocence so long ago. He stood up straight and turned around, facing away from Tea. The night was cool and the branches of the trees moved freely against the wind. The stars were barely there but they were still there, shinning high above them. Right now, Domino Park really was the perfect place to be. He gave a sly smirk, hidden to Tea in the darkness.
"Fine. But you better have a hell of a good explaination for this. The breeze blowing in this park, right now, is perfect for a nap."
Tea giggled. She was glad she had something--or someone--to laugh at. It made her warm, when everything else felt so cold around her.
Takahashi handed Tea the 'EVIDENCE' bag with the bronze bullet inside. They had made it to the police station in only a matter of minutes in the sergeant's Honda Civic. He had gone to hell and back trying to convince the secretary at the front desk to give him the keys to the Evidence Room, something Tea had been very grateful for. After a quick hesitation by her part, Tea took the bullet out of the bag and began to examine it carefully. Takahashi stared at her eagerly, wondering what she was doing.
"You still haven't told me what you plan to do with that."
"I went on this website a few hours ago and found out that the Meji's sign was the Right Eye of Horus. And since you said that the bullet was probably from a Meji--"
"That was a guess."
Tea looked up from the bullet, the found mark facing up. Takahashi could see the shock written clearly on her face. He regreated the fact that he had blurted out what he had, when he did. It had only brought up false hopes.
"I'm sorry. I--I never though you'd..."
Tea looked back down at the mark. The Right Eye of Horus. The sun.
"Your guess might be right. This is the mark of the Meji."
"True. But that doesn't mean the guy who shot your parents is a Meji soldier."
"But there's still a chance and as long as I have that hope, I'll keep on fighting."
Takahashi's dark brown eyes looked straight into Tea's focused blue ones. He knew there was nothing he could say--or do--to change her mind. He let out a deep sigh.
"I hope you know what you're doing."
Cold eyes stared from a distance as Tea left the Domino Police Station, the same eyes that had been watching over her for the past few days. It hurt.
'Why won't you forget? Why won't you leave things the way they are? Why...?'
He closed his eyes, a hurt expression on his face.
'Why am I doing this, if... if I can't stop the quilt from building up?'
"She's becoming a threat."
"But sir, she doesn't really know anything."
"In time, she will learn. I need you to go to Japan and dispose of her."
"Sir...."
"We are at risk. The Meji are catching on. If she comes here search for her parents' killer, for you, she will go to the Meji leader. He will not only end up explaining everthing to her, but he will most likely go searching for the spy and I'm sure your status amoung is men won't affect his onlook of you."
The tall hooded man turned around and look down at the surprised teenager. He had deep brown eyes, eyes full wisedom and pain. Eyes that could see, or even destroy the soul. It was more than obvious why he had been chosen to lead the Fallen. There were various hierglyphics and other ancient writing from other civilizations on the stone walls, shadows dancing as the candles flickered. Even though they were under the sands of Egypt, the wind still made its way through. The 'Master' put his hands on the teenager's sholders and let out a deep sigh and looked down at his most loyal and valuable soldier. The boy lowered his gaze. He didn't want to show disrespect. This man was the father he never had and he was sure that his anger would take over him, if he continued to look him in the eye.
"I know this troubles you, but you must remember that you are here to follow orders, if not for your own good, for the safety of our people. Make sure not to leave evidence or witnesses. I understand you're in this mess because of that gun you made, am I correct?"
"Yes, sir."
"Mmph. Use a dagger this time, alright. We don't want to complicate things. You'll be leaving in the morning. Understood?"
"I... Yes, sir." A quiet answer, almost a whisper. He had already killed so many, that killing one more wouldn't affect matters, but she was different. She....
'...She's Tea.'
Tea couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She continued to look around, as she quickly made her was to te Kaiba Mansion. No, not the Kaiba Mansion, her home. She lived there now. Almost a year, exactly. Seto and Mokuba were her family now.
'Seto... Where are you?'
Moukuba had mentioned that Seto was headed for America, after the hacker. Even though Tea wanted him to find the bastard, she prayed that he didn't go to New York. It won't make her regreat not going after him. She missed him so much. He had left only a few hours ago, yet, to her, it felt like a lifetime. She felt so lonely without him.
'No. I still have Mouki.Oh, God. It's... 12:49 in the morning!'
Tea shoved her cellphone in her pink purse and looked around again. The streets of the Domino Prefecture were empty except for the occassional couple or group of friends in the distance. Few cars passed by, none of them cabs.
'Shit. Guess I have to walk.'
Tea quickened her pace, as she walked down the block. As she was about to cross the the street, ignoring the light, since there were no cars around, the wind picked up. A shiver ran down her spine as the bust of cold air hit her. Then it came back. That cold, frightening feeling. The feeling that she was being watched. The feeling that came with the wind.
A chill ran down Seto's back as the wind picked up once again. It might have been early spring in Japan, but it was late fall in New York City. It wan't too cold, not enough to be wearing a heavy coat or anything. It was just cold enough to have a thick sweater or a warm sport's jacket, not a tin suit over jacket. Seto wasn't dressed too fancy either. He had a pair of black dress pants and a clear blue dress shirt, not to mention the jacket. He had already buttoned up the top three buttons he had left open that morning, obviously meaning he hadn't bothered to wear a tie. The tall brunette put his suitcase down and pulled his jacket tighter, feeling nothing but the cool wind blowing around him. He'd been standing in the same spot for much too long.
'I knew I should have worn something warmer.'
Seto mentally kicked himself in the ass for his stupid mistake. He was standing in the cold waiting, for the bastard hacker to show up. He looked around the park from the bridge he stood on. Central Park. The trees standing high above him and the leaves were toned in a variety of colors. Red, yellow, orange, even a few green ones. It all looked so peaceful and calm--romantic, even. Looking at the unique foliage, Seto couldn't help but miss his love.
'I should have brought Tea with me...'
Seto looked down at his suitcase, and almost as if on cue, he heard a soft beep. He kneeled down and opened it, taking out a small laptop. He flipped it open, revealing a small email. No return address. No formalities. Just a message. Quick and to the point. He opened it quickly and read the contents, regretting the moment.
"No..."
Tears began to form in his eyes, clouding his vision. He had just made the biggest mistake in his life. He had left one of the only things that made is life worth living--and his heart--defenseless.
"Mokuba? Mokuba were are you?"
Tea wandered around the large, yet empty livingroom. The houseworkers had already been dispatched for the weekend and she and Mokuba where left alone in the house--no, the mansion--since Seto had left.
'Duh. He's probably asleep by now.'
Tea slowly walked over to the staircase, careful not to trip over anything, something that was nearly impossible, considering the size and extra space in the mansion. She gentle put her hand on the banister, and began to ascend up the stairs. As she got closer to the top, an eerie feeling came over her. She froze.
'What's wrong with me?'
She ignored the doubt that was building up inside of her and, after a bit hesitation, she continued into Seto's, no her's and Seto's bedroom. She walked over to the mohogony door and placed her hand around the doornob. More hesitation creep through Tea's body. She was positive that death was haunting the halls. She wasn't sure how she knew. She just did. Maybe being here, right now wasn't such a good idea.
'No! I-I was imagining things. Stuff like that doesn't just happen. Besides, I'm home.'
Somewhat reassured, she turned the doornub and walked inside, closing the door behind her.
Darkness. Nothing, but darkness. It was too dark. Too much to be normal. Tea walked slowly toward the center of the room. It was almost as if she were blind. She could barely see a few feet infront of her. As she got closer to the center, she saw a tall, dark figure sitting on the arm chair on the far side of the room.
"Who... who are you?"
"Forgot me already, Tea?"
Even though he spoke in a soft, husky voice, she regonized him instantly. It was him. It was the man who had caused her so much pain before. He couldn't find out she was scared. He couldn't find out that his cloudy, lavender eyes still terrifed her, still trapped her in their infinite depths.
"What are you doing here? How did you get in?"
"Simple."
He stood up, and slowly walked toward her. Tea battled inside herself. She had to stand her ground. She had to be strong.
"All I had to do was hack into the system and program the camaras to play repeated scenes from earlier today."
"You're the... "
"The hacker? Yes."
"If you're here, that means Seto... "
"Yes. I was a bluff."
Tea stared into Marik's eyes. There was something in his face. She could see through his coldness, through his front.
'It can't be... pain?'
"What do you want with me?"
The Egyptian had already pushed Tea up against a wall. Every step he took forward, she took back. He put his hand on the cold wall to the left of Tea's head. Shivers went down here spine, as Marik got closer. She could feel his warm breath on her face. His lips were so close to her's...
"I... want to kill you."
He spoke with a calm, almost seductive voice. No, not almost. Not to Tea. In response, not to his tone but to his words, she answered in a soft voice, her eyelids heavy.
"Why?"
Marik reached to his back and put his fingers around the handmade gun tucked in his jeans, making sure Tea didn't see the weapon. A Pain built deeply in his chest. This was going to be his harded hunt yet.
"Orders."
Tears had already formed on Tea's lashline, hurting Marik's cause. He didn't want to do this. He was trying to make it quick, make it painless. She made it hard. She was hurt. The pain in his chest grew.
"M-Marik... "
He slowly leaned in, closer. He gently pressed his lips against her's. Tea couldn't help, but accept Marik's passionate kiss. She unconsciencely opened her mouth, giving him entrance. He slowly entered his tongue and began to lick every spot he could. Love. It was the only explaination Tea could find.
'Why?'
Marik pulled the gun from his back without sperating from thier deep kiss. He pressed the cold steel against Tea's stomach. He slowly released from the kiss. Tea's eyes shot open as she noticed what was pressed against her womb. Marik spoke in a low, sad voice, pain writien on his face. He knew Tea needed an exlaination.
"I killed them. I didn't mean to. I was after the Higurashis', not them."
"Why?"
"They were a threat. They knew too much."
"Is that why you're here?"
"Yes."
"What is it that I shouldn't know?"
"You don't know anything."
"Then, why?"
"If you keep searching, you'll learn."
"I won't. I promise."
"It's too late."
"Who are you?"
Distress was clearly writien in her voice now. The pain wouldn't stop. Marik broke their gaze, looking to his right. He needed to tell her. She needed to here it. She needed to know the truth.
"A Fallen."
"I don't understand."
"I'm not a Meji."
"What?"
"I used to be."
"And the Eye of Horus?"
"I told you, I'm a Fallen."
"What does--the Left Eye of Horus."
"The Moon."
"You used to be a Meji?"
"Yes, before I killed her. An innocent. When my hands were stained with her blood, I was sentenced to death. Then he came... "
"Who?"
He ignored her words. He didn't even know who his Master really was, let alone explain him.
"He saved me. I gave him my loyalty. My soul."
"You don't have to do this."
"I'm sorry."
Marik looked her in the eyes once more. Tea could see the pain in his lavender eyes clearly now.
He didn't want to do this. He didn't have a choice. As he pulled the trigger, tears falling from his eyes. Pain. It shot through her body, consuming her senses. She felt nothing, heard nothing. She tasted blood. As the darkness consumed her vision, her soul, she heard Marik's pain. The last words she expected to hear, yet the only words she needed from him.
"I love you."
I left her laying there, in Kaiba's bedroom. I dropped the gun by her side. I couldn't touch it. I couldn't touch her. I couldn't even look at her. She looked so peaceful. An angel. I know I hurt her, deep inside. I don't blame anyone else. It's my fault. I know it is. If I hadn't killed her parents. If I had had the courage to ignore orders, none of this would have happened. I wouldn't feel so empty. I left once I heard the younger Kaiba calling her name. I almost feel for him, almost. I'm too lost in my own grife to care about anyone. I came back to Egypt. I continue to kill, under his orders. I'm waiting for Kaiba to find me. I can't stand the pain. It's consuming me. The darkness. I don't feel anymore. I'm neither alive or dead anymore. My soul, alone with her's, is gone with the wind.

It came out much longer then I expected. It took me longer to write then I expected. I didn't finish editing it, by the way, so if you find a mistake or have a suggestion, feel free. My first fic. I'm so proud. Watery eyes. I can't go on. Just hurry up and review... pout.
No flames. Only good reviews, please (I asked nicely, damnit).
Legacy

<1 of 1 site(s) found...>
