The Chains that Bind Me
FKH: This will be my first fanfic here (and in a long time). Hopefully I haven’t lost my touch as much as I thought. Okay, let the fun begin! Flames will be gracefully accepted because it seems my cat needs to be punished.

Hello. My name is Ryou Bakura and I’m 16 years old. I just moved from England to Domino and live alone with my father.
Prologue
It was thirteen years ago this day that my mother died. She was a nice woman, though I hardly knew her. I remember only the few, trivial things she did for me. Like how she would tuck me in at night, console me when I had nightmares, and rock me back and forth soothingly if I were sick. But of what little I remember of her those memories are most important to me.
My father says I look just like my mother. He says the way my eyes change colors in light reminds him of all the happy days they had together. Often after my mother died he would hold me close and tell me everything was going to be okay. He would mention how I would get better and how we could live happily again and start a new family. I didn’t understand what he meant and it startled me. He felt the jolt and told me he had zoned out and swore I was my mother. It was understandable, we looked identical almost. (Plus he was still getting over the trauma)
Lately though I’ve felt very…..unsafe under my father’s ‘watchful’ eye. The happy eyes (blue like mine are sometimes) and smiles I’ve grown used to have alien glints and secret messages in them. He seems to hover over more now and give me ‘loving father pats’ as he calls them. I feel relived when we finally finish unpacking and my school uniform comes in the mail.
I know it was short but I plan on updating again today. Lucky you. ^_^ Review, review and flame! See if I care! Koco’s been a bad kitty!
