Valentine and Kaiba?

Mai sat on the ground next to a tree, she was in a park near Kaiba Corp. She had shades on, and was peeking over the top of them to look at people. Her violet eyes, glared at people who dared to look at her. Then she saw someone who she knew, not well and she didn’t want to know well. Seto Kaiba was sitting on the bench about 10 feet away. Her heart began to pound, she didn’t know why. Kaiba was a lone which was odd, he always had Mokuba, his little brother, with him. Mai got up and dusted off her purple skirt, and started to walk towards him. Kaiba was just sitting and looking at people who walked passed. Many people stared at him, and whispered things like: “Look it’s Seto Kaiba.” Or “He’s so hot!” Kaiba just rolled his eyes at these stupid comments.
Mai grinned as she heard the people, chat about Kaiba. She’d never liked him, and really she had no reason to. He wasn’t the nicest guys on the block, and was a little to full of himself if she had anything to say about it. Mai looked around to see if she could see Mokuba. She didn’t see him and wondered why he wasn’t with Kaiba. Not that she really cared, but she liked Mokuba. He wasn’t the smartest eleven-year-old she’d met but he had a big heart.
Mai was about 2 feet from the bench that Kaiba sat on. She stopped and looked at him, he seemed not to notice her. She raised one eye brow and sat down next to him. He turned surprised, to see her. “Did think you’d see me here did you Kaiba?” Mai asked, glancing at him. “No, and I wish I hadn’t!” He said in a low unwelcome voice. “Look here Kaiba! I’m trying to be nice and that’s all you have to say? Why you...” Mai didn’t finish, just glared at him.
“What do you want?” Kaiba asked in a bored “I don’t care” kind of voice. “I’m wondering where Mokuba is. He never leaves your side!” Mai said. She looked over the top of her shades at him. “But I don’t blame him for leaving you.” She said, in a sarcastic voice. Kaiba clenched his teeth, “It’s none of your business where my little brother is!” “Well if he left someone should take care of him!” Mai said, “Do you not care about him? He loves you! Show some compassion for once Kaiba!” Kaiba turned to look at her, his blue eyes flashed. “How dare you say I don’t care about him!” “Then where is he?!?! Huh? Tell me that Kaiba!” Mai yelled at him, people turned to look at them. They whispered things, that Mai didn’t want or need to hear at the moment. “Did it ever occur to you that it’s a Friday and 1:45?” Kaiba asked, calmly. “What the heck does that have to do with anything?” Mai asked. “He’s still in school, you idiot!” Mai blushed at her stupidity. “Oh... Ahem, I see.” Mai was uncomfortable.
Kaiba just rolled his eyes, and got up. “Now if you excuse me. I have to go get Mokuba from school!” Mai got up quickly, “Wait Kaiba!” He turned looking at her, with his piercing blue eyes. “What?” He said nothing else but waits for her to say, whatever she wanted. “May I come with you?” She asked in a small quiet voice, not a Mai Valentine voice. More like a Serenity Wheeler, sweet, innocent voice. “No!” Kaiba said turning and starts to walk away. He stopped about 12 feet away from her. He gave her a small smile “But I can’t stop you from following me.” He turned and kept walking. Mai stood there unsure if he was serious or just being Kaiba.
Mai rans to catch up with Kaiba, she didn’t like all the people looking at her as if she was a ghost. When Mai reaches his side, he doesn’t look at her. “I knew you’d follow me.” Kaiba said quietly. “Yes, but you said I could...” Mai was still unsure of what to do. “True.” That’s all they said the rest of the way to get Mokuba.
When they reached Mokuba’s school, they waited at the gate. “Hi Seto!” Mokuba ran up to Kaiba and gave him a hug. “How was school?” Kaiba asked, in a voice Mai had never heard. A voice that she didn’t think Kaiba could make, it sounded like he really cared. “It was great!” Mokuba said seeing Mai. “Hi Mai! Whatcha doin’ here?” Mokuba looked at his brother, then at Mai. “I came with Kaiba.” Mai said smiling at him. “Oh that’s cool! Seto can she come with us when we get ice cream?” Mokuba begged. “Oh no, Mokuba! I’m sure your brother wants time with you, I’ll just go home.” Mai protested. “But you don’t live anywhere near here Mai! It’s over 6,000 miles to your house!” Mokuba pointed out. “Yes, well the day I young. I’ll get to my house by 10:30.” Mai said, quietly. Kaiba raised his eye brows. “No, Mai you have to come!” Mokuba pulled on his brother’s sleeve. “Can she come? Can she?” Kaiba looked at his brother, then at Mai. “Fine.” Kaiba said, in a flat tone. He didn’t look like he really cared. “See Mai. Seto doesn’t mind!” “Well... okay if he doesn’t mind... I guess I could...” Mai looked at Kaiba, who looked away quickly.
