Betrayal

I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh, the story, or the characters. Wish I did, though.

“Kaiba-boi, let’s cut to the chase, shall we?” Pegasus leaned against the bars of Mokuba’s cell, as nonchalant as if they were all in a comfortable living room together, while Kaiba glared at him, speechless with outrage. “I believe one could say I have you over a barrel, dear boy.” His lips curled upward in a rather feral smile. “Although -- We each have something the other wants --“

“Explain.” Kaiba folded his arms.

“Seems obvious --“ Pegasus shrugged, throwing his hands in the air. “You have Solid Vision -- I have your brother. Why don’t we cut a deal?”

Kaiba did not move. “And what about the Big Five?”

“What about them?” Pegasus shrugged again. “We don’t have a contract --“ He sauntered close to Kaiba and ran one hand along his cheek. “They already betrayed you,” he said, “Let’s betray them back.”

Kaiba jerked away. “I don’t make deals with people like you,” he said.

“Morals?” Pegasus laughed. “Don’t be ridiculous -- We both know you don’t have any either.” He put his arm on Kaiba’s shoulder. When he did not relax, Pegasus spoke again. “All right,” he said, “I’ll sweeten the deal --“ He tried again to draw the young man close. This time Kaiba unstiffened slightly. “You want to be Duel Monsters Champion again.” Pegasus’ voice was low, hypnotic. “You want to beat Yuugi Mutou -- I can give you the power to do that --“

“Go on --“

“Three cards --“ Pegasus said softly, “that I created -- Powerful cards -- Too powerful for my own use -- But I know where they are --“ Kaiba allowed the older man to draw him closer. “The Egyptian God cards -- They can be yours, Kaiba -- And your brother too --“

“And all I have to do is let you use Solid Vision?” Kaiba sounded skeptical.

“That -- And perhaps I might need -- ah -- private lessons in how to use it --“ Pegasus laughed lightly. “Such difficult technology --“

Kaiba laughed too. “And what would you teach me in return?”

“I don’t know --“ Pegasus laughed again. “I need to find out what you know --“ He put his hand under Kaiba’s chin and turned his head a little so that they were facing. Bending close, he kissed him, his silver hair falling forward, hiding both their faces.

“I’m a fast learner --“ Kaiba kissed him back -- Deeper -- Pegasus’ arms tightened around them. Their kiss was too short. Kaiba broke away, his lips moist.
