I do not own YuGiOh!, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
THAT SINGLE IF-ONLY
TITLE/S: THAT SINGLE IF-ONLY
PAIRING/S: JOU/YUGI, IMPLIED YUGI/YAMI
DISCLAIMER/S: Very unfortunately, the boys are not mine... ahhh, I wish...
THAT SINGLE IF-ONLY
Logically, Jou knows that nothing happened between Yugi and the spirit of the puzzle. Yugi whispers as much, when Jou asks. The spirit's body was never more substantial than the air, and could touch Yugi no more than the wind.
Logically, Jou shouldn't be jealous of something that never happened. But while he has erased every other set of lips from Yugi's memory, he can't get rid of that single if-only. And he has tried.
Logically, Jou knows that Yugi loves him. But sometimes when they kiss, Yugi opens his eyes, and Jou can see a smothered spark of disappointment.
NOTE/S: I was DEVASTATED when I found out about the whole bye-bye Yami thing, but I am smart enough to realise that it leaves LOTS of room for Yugi/Jou angsty goodness. Do you like? Please review (I'll love you forever!)...
