“Little Jackal,” rumbled a deep voice.
“Yes daddy?” came your delicate voice has you took a step into the large room.
Your black hair cascaded down your back in glistening waves and your golden eyes stared into your father’s eyes, Anubis’ eyes. You wore a white linen dress with an ivory gauze over dress. A thin golden chain with a small golden pendant with a small emerald encrusted in the middle, you wore matching earrings and a golden wrist band with your father’s seal on it.
You stared up at the tall, muscular male that sat upon the dark gold throne. His skin was black has the fertile soil of the mortal Egypt and his eyes glowed the golden color of Egyptian gold with the great god Ra shining down upon it stared down on you from the jackal head. A kilt of pure white with a flap of dark blue circled his waist and a golden belt encircled his waist; while matching arm bands were wrapped around his upper arms. Two black jackals lay on either side of the throne their great necks encircled by golden collars.
“You wanted to see me?”
“Yes,” said Anubis. “Against my better judgment, I am sending you on your first mission.”
You were fifteen years of age and had yet to be given a mission when your older brother and sisters have been given two by the time they were fourteen years of age. But you were the youngest and half mortal which explained why he was so protective of you.
“People have been dying, but their souls have not been coming to the underworld. I want you to find out why.”
“Yes father,” you said before fading into the darkness.
Anubis growled and two of the jackals that had been scattered about the room came up to the throne and sat down bowing their heads. “Guard her.” The two jackals dashed off into the direction you had disappeared too.
A Few Days later_______________________________________________
You pushed at the short blue uniform skirt that hardly covered your rare end. Straightening you looked at yourself in the full length mirror in the apartment you were staying in for the mission. The pink uniform jack was rather snug and seemed to make your small chest seem smaller. You were petite, very petite, most people would consider you a boy if not for the slight curves you possessed. You had tied your black hair back with a golden ribbon
“Well?” you asked twirling around to face the two jackals that lay n a large mat by your bed. They raised their heads and snorted. “You’re right,” you said. “I don’t like it either but it will have to do. You two behave yourselves.” With that you were on your way to school.

“Class,” said the teacher tapping the desk with her knuckle. “We have a new student with us today, she comes to us all the way from Egypt.”
You stepped into the classroom and pushed your bangs behind your ear and smiled nervously. Your now brown eyes, the wonders of what the mortals call contacts, scanned the students your eyes lock on one of the males and your eyes widened.
‘Pharaoh Atemu?!’ you thought your eyes widening.
“Miss. __(LN)__,” said the teacher. “Would you please have a seat next to Mr. Atemu Motu.”
The former Pharaoh raised an elegantly long arm in the air. You followed the hand and took a seat next to him. You looked at him from the corner of your eyes and he flashed you a small warm smile, which you returned.

“So,” said Atemu, softly walking over with his group of friends and taking a seat near you. “You come from Egypt?”
“Yes,” you said smiling at him. “I miss it terrible even though I have only been gone from it for a few days.”
“It is hard to be away from your home,” said Atemu.
“Do you have any family?” asked the girl that you had discovered to be named Tea.
“Oh yes,” you smiled, your eyes lighting up. “I have one brother and seven sisters, all of them are older then me.”
The hairs on the back of your neck stood on ends and you looked the air had a taste of death on it. You stuck the tip of your tongue out to taste it some more and the direction from which it came.
“Excuse me,” you said standing up. “But there is something I need to do before lunch ends.”
You hurried from the room not noticing that the former Pharaoh had followed you out into the hall and was following you has you made your way to the park. You caught sight of a male with pitch black hair that had blood red bangs. He wore black leather pants, a black tank top, and he was holding a intricately carved dagger in one hand and an Egyptian embalming jar in the other.
“Priest of Set,” you whispered.
The male turned around and faced you his blood red eyes focused on you. “Little Jackal,” he said slowly. Using the name your father and your siblings used for you. His red eyes flashed sadistically and he flicked his dagger at you. You moved away swiftly but it grazed your cheek leaving a burn, cauterizing the wound at once. But you leapt towards the body hoping to get to it before its soul was stolen.
“What did you do?!” shouted an enraged voice.
You turned around and your eyes dilated in fear when you saw the Pharaoh coming towards you. You leapt to your feet and ran away, quickly, your father’s heritage kicking in and before the former Pharaoh knew you were back at your apartment. You crouched down behind the door and sighed curling up into a small ball. You had never seen anyone so angry before in your life. Your brother was right you were a sheltered little jackal. You didn’t know what you were going to do about the mission and now that the Pharaoh had seen you near the body that made things even more complicated.
