Somebody
By Terra

Joey Wheeler burst through the door of the Kame Game Shop at a full run, slamming the door open so hard the little bell overhead fell off its hook. He took the stairs three at a time to the living quarters upstairs.

He ran into the living room, “I got a job!!” His shout scared his best friend Yugi so bad, he fell out of his yami’s lap, landing with a loud thump on the floor.

“That’s great Joey,” Yugi stood up, rubbing his aching posterior. “Where? Doing what? And when do you start?”

Joey unfurled an apron, “At that new diner in the square, across from Kaiba Corp. Starting Saturday, I work the tables, the counter, and do dishes.” He flopped down in a chair, grinning from ear to ear, “I’m finally on my way, Yugi. And you guys will soon have your spare room back.”

“We don’t mind having you here, Joey. It’s what friends do.”

“It is no inconvenience at all, if it keeps you away from your father and in Domino City,” Yami placed a hand on the blond’s shoulder. “You are welcome for as long as need be.”

“Thanks, I really appreciate it, guys,” Joey grinned at the two look-a-likes. “Now, what’s for dinner?”

Light and dark looked at him with identical smirks, “Whatever you happen to be fixing.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m very sorry, Master Kaiba. I have no idea how this could have happened.”
Seto frowned at his housekeeper and glared at the coffee maker currently spewing caramel colored water all over the cabinets.
“The machine is over eight years old, sir,” she offered weakly. “Appliances do wear out and break down.”
He watched as the spewing ceased, and a slow but steady trickle came from the side of the machine, pooling on the counter.
“Do we have any instant?” he asked hopefully.
The elderly woman shook her head, chewing on her lower lip, “I can run out and get some for you and bring it back, sir.”
He watched the brown elixir of the gods drip over the edge of the counter. He looked at the cup in his hands and back at the tiny puddle forming on the kitchen floor. He looked at his cup again then shook his head. Nah. He wasn’t that desperate, yet.
“That will not be necessary, I’ll just get some at the office,” he sighed, placing his empty cup on the counter. “When you go out to get a new coffee maker, get five so this will not happen again.”
“Yes, sir. I’ll do that as soon as I clean up this mess.”
Seto let the mansion thankful he had a competent secretary who always had coffee made by the time he got to work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“I’m sorry, sir.”

Seto Kaiba had come to the conclusion he was the victim of a conspiracy, a destructively, cruel and inhumane conspiracy to take over his company by denying him his morning coffee.

“Tell me one more time why there is no coffee made?”

“The coffee maker is broken, sir.” Seto’s secretary edged a little closer to the elevator her boss had just emerged from.

Seto rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. “Explain that, please.”

“The water reservoir of ours has a crack in it and won’t hold water long enough to brew the coffee,” she twisted her hands together. “I could duct tape it, sir,” she offered brightly.

He looked at her through his bangs.

“Or not.”

Seto seriously thought about firing her on the spot. “Steal one from another floor.”

“I thought about that, sir.”

He knew he had hired her for good reason, “And?”

“There are only two others used for coffee in the entire building, sir. The others are full of tea at the moment.”

“Let me guess, the other two are broken as well?”

She nodded, “One has the prongs on the plug broken off, and the other has a cracked hopper for the coffee grounds, and it leaks.”

He sighed and opened the door to his office, “Nirea, how many workers would I have left if I fired all the tea drinkers in the building?”

“Less than forty-five.”

“I can’t run the company on that few, huh?”

“No, sir.”

“Damn.”

Seto glared out his office window at the people scurrying about to and fro, lively and energetic from having drunk hot coffee made from functioning coffee makers that morning. How he envied them.

He noticed people going in and out of the new diner across the square. Diners had coffee. Horrible coffee, but it was still coffee. And at this point in time, he was desperate, not quite collect the drips off the kitchen counter desperate, but close.

Seto informed his secretary where he was going, and made his way across the street for a much needed cup of steaming hot liquid caffeine. He sat down at the counter and looked around, while waiting for someone to come take his order. The place was quaint. It had a cozy feel to it. The waitresses seemed friendly, chatting with their customers, and constantly refilling their various drinks.

“What can I get for you, sir?” came a cheerful voice.

Seto turned around and blinked at his waiter, “Mutt?”

Joey blinked back at the CEO, his grin never leaving his face, “Can I get you something, sir?”

“Coffee, one sugar, two creams, and no dog hair.”

“I am in such a good mood today, Kaiba, not even your insults are going to bring me down,” Joey set a steaming cup in front of the CEO.

“Why’s that, mutt? Your master buy you a new dog toy?”

Joey frowned but said nothing as he set a container of sugar packets and creamer cups on the counter, “Can I get you some breakfast to go with that?”

Seto was stunned, normally by now Joey would be yelling insults right back at him at the top of his lungs. “Eggs, scrambled.”

“Coming right up,” Joey grinned.

Seto sipped his coffee. It was surprisingly good. He watched Joey put in his order at the kitchen, refill the coffee for the man sitting at the end of the counter, and hold the kitchen door open for a tray laden waitress. He was taking his job very seriously.

~At a diner on the square, they make small talk
When he brings his eggs and fills his coffee cup~

“So mutt, how long have you been working here?” Seto asked when his eggs arrived.

“My first day today.”

The CEO was beginning to think that goofy grin was a permanent fixture on the blond’s face, “Interesting career choice.”

“I’m just working here until I get a better job.”

“Or until school starts. No jobs allowed, remember.”

“You work.”

“I have special dispensation,” Seto smirked.

“I do too, now.” Joey went to wipe down the area where the man drinking coffee had been, “Court ordered.”

Seto quirked an eyebrow at the blond, “Why is that?”

“Social worker pulled some strings.”

Joey had ceased to care who knew about his former family life after he was found by a Freshman gym class, bloody and unconscious behind the basketball courts. That day had been the beginning of his new independent life.

Seto made a small noise in response and drained his cup, “Could I get one of these to go? It’s not half bad for diner coffee.” Joey handed him a large foam cup and the check for his breakfast.

“I’ll be sure and let the maker know you liked it,” he smirked. “Nice talking to you, Kaiba.”

Seto paused at the door, “It was.” Surprisingly, he meant it. “I’ll see you around... pup.”

“You too, money bags.”

As he walked back to his office, Seto couldn’t help thinking how good the day was turning out to be.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seto never gave that Saturday morning much thought, until a month later he found the coffee pot in his office empty. That struck him as odd, since his secretary had informed him she had filled it not less than ten minutes ago.
It was at that moment he remembered the little diner across the street. The coffee hadn’t been all that bad; he’d had worse.
He checked the clock. It was well past lunchtime and it shouldn’t be crowded. He hadn’t eaten yet either, and he could use a break from his office anyway.
There was a much older man standing behind the counter when Seto walked in, and no one else. Before he could sit at a table, the man grabbed several food cartons, yelling through the kitchen door.
“Joey, cover for me. I need to run lunch over to the wife and kids. Be back in less than an hour.”
“Sure thing, Ken,” Joey came in, wiping his hands on a towel as Seto sat down at the counter.
The blond grinned, “What can I get for you?”
Coffee, and whatever’s good for lunch.”
Joey set a cup in front of the CEO then filled it. “There’s the usual, sushi, noodles, and a variety of stir frys. The chef also makes some killer American open faced sandwiches.”
“That sounds good.”
“Chicken, turkey, or beef?”
Seto thought a minute, “Beef.”
Joey wrote up the ticket and rang a bell to get the chef’s attention. He returned to the brunet and began to idly wipe the counter, “So what brings you out?” he asked.
Seto tipped his cup, taking a sip of the rich brew.
He tried again, “You ready for school next week?” Seto nodded.
Joey decided the art of conversation was lost on the CEO as he brought him his lunch, only to have Seto surprise him. “You?”
“Yeah, as ready as I can be. I wanted to be in my own place by now.”
Seto looked up from his plate, “Where are you staying now?”
“Yugi’s,” Joey smiled sheepishly.
Seto chuckled, “Must be tough to have a date over.”
It was a wonder the entire city didn’t know how much of a sex maniac Yugi Moto was. He and Yami had been caught having sex in public places more times than Bakura and Ryou. The blue eyed teen was beginning to think the two couples had some kind of competition going.
Joey chuckled, “Yeah, well, you’d probably know more about that than me.”
“How so?”
“I’ve never dated,” Joey refilled the CEO’s cup.
“Why not?” Seto was honestly surprised by that, considering how hot the blond was.
Joey raised his eyebrows and looked at the brunet through his bangs.
“Father, right,” Seto pushed his plate away. “I guess we have something in common then.”
It was Joey’s turn to be surprised. “You never...?”
~He talks about his love life
And tells him he's about ready to give up~
“Dated? No.”
“Wow, I’d a thought you’d a had people beating down the door begging for a date.”
Seto snorted and rolled his eyes, “They just want the prestige of saying they slept with the great Seto Kaiba, or to brag about where I took them. I’m ready to throw in the towel.”
~That's when he says "I've been there before
But keep on lookin'
Cause maybe who you're lookin' for is~
Joey sighed, “I know how you feel. It’s hard to find someone who’s honest, not playing mind games, and understanding of all the crap you’re going through.” He looked the CEO straight in the eye, “But don’t give up, man. There’s somebody out there for everybody. You just got to keep looking.”
Seto quirked an eyebrow at the blond, “You really believe that?”
He nodded, “Sure do. People aren’t meant to be alone. Could be anybody. Somebody you see everyday and never think about, like the mail carrier, or the clerk at the grocery store, the person in the car next to you at the stop light. They’re out there, you just have to look, really look.”
Seto chuckled, handing the blond the money for his meal, “You sure live in your own little world, puppy.”
Joey just shrugged.
~Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the mornin' train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at but never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Over the next week, Joey’s words kept repeating in Seto’s mind. He would catch himself looking at people he never would have noticed before, thinking, ‘Is this the person for me?’ When school started, he found himself looking at his classmates as if for the first time, one in particular.

~Across the aisle in a crowded classroom
He can't forget the things that waiter said
He usually reads a book
But today he reads another’s face instead~

Seto sat at his desk, an open book in front of him like always, but he wasn’t reading. He was watching a certain blond out of the corner of his eye. Had Joey’s hair always shined like that, like polished gold? His laugh was loud, true, but full of joy. And his eyes, those sparkling amber eyes, gods, he could easily drown in those eyes.

~It's that amber eyed boy
From two rows up
Maybe he's the one
Maybe he could fall in love with~

The teacher walked in, calling the class to order. Seto reluctantly pulled his attention to the day’s lesson, but it didn’t stay there. He glanced back over to Joey, who was doodling in his notebook, chin propped on his hand, obviously bored.

The teacher noticed as well, “Mr. Wheeler. Would you please translate question six?”

Joey glanced at Yugi’s textbook, having left his somewhere other than his locker, “Yes, I would like to have a chocolate ice cream cone.”

The teacher stared at him, “Correct Mr. Wheeler. Now, please pay attention.”

A small smile tugged at the corner of Seto’s mouth. There was more than meets the eye to the golden haired puppy. After several more minutes, the teacher called on him.

“Number 15, Mr. Kaiba.”

“What would you like to drink with your meal, sir?” he answered.

“Thank you, and please pay attention as well.”

Seto felt someone looking at him and turned to lock gazes with those beautiful amber eyes. Grinning, Joey gave him a small two fingered salute. He returned the greeting with a small nod, and thought back to what the blond had said to him at the diner.

~Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the mornin' train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at but never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody~

At the end of the day, Seto made his way through the school yard full of loitering teens to his waiting limo. As he was stepping inside, he saw a certain blond walking down the sidewalk towards the city square. He instructed the driver to pull slightly ahead of the teen and stop.

Joey thought nothing of Seto’s limo as it passed him, but was shocked to see it stop a few feet in front of hid thd the door open. He cautiously approached and peeked inside.

“Get in, puppy.”

Joey blinked at the brunet, “You giving me a ride?”

“Yes, now get in,” Seto was getting slightly annoyed.

“Why?”

Seto narrowed his eyes at the blond and grabbed the door handle, “Drive.”

“NO! NO! I’m coming!” Joey jumped into the limo as it began to pull away from the curb.

“Why the lift?” he asked once he was settled.

“We’re both going the same way; I thought you might like a ride.”

“Yeah, I do. I need all the extra time I can get now that school is in.”

The ride ended all too soon for the teen billionaire. He was finding a great deal of satisfaction in listening to the blond speak of his dreams. When they got to Kaiba Corp, Joey thanked him and headed for the diner, while Seto made his way to his office and the first of many afternoon meetings.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joey was glad he was working the counter that afternoon. He kept glancing across the street, hoping to see a certain brunet heading in his direction. He was a bit disappointed when his boss told him it was time to go.
As he slipped on his jacket, Joey got an idea, “Ken, could you do me up four large coffees to go?”
“Sure thing. You taking them to your family?”
Joey smiled, shaking his head, “No just a friend who happens to like the coffee here.”
He hurried across the darkening street and entered the Kaiba Corp building. He found an open elevator and headed to Seto’s floor, hoping the CEO wouldn’t be upset he was bringing him coffee.
Seto’s secretary thought nothing of the young man with coffee asking for Mr. Kaiba’s office. She knew her boss always brought a cup back with him after going to the diner, and figured he had called to have them send some over for his next meeting. She showed the young blond man the correct door and left to go down one floor to get herself a cup of tea.
Seto had everything prepared for his next meeting, with fifteen minutes to spare. He decided to grab a quick drink before heading to the conference room. When he opened his office door he got a bit more to drink than he had intended.
Joey had just placed his hand on the door knob to Seto’s office when the door came flying open, yanking him forward.
All Seto saw when he opened his door was a yellow blur coming his way. He threw his hands up to catch the golden whatever and was suddenly drenched in hot coffee.
~Now they laugh about the moment that it happened
A moment they both missed until that day
When he saw his future in his eyes
Instead of just another friendly face~
With a yelp, Joey jumped back. Some of the coffee had splashed on his leg, and it stung. He could just imagine how Seto felt having gotten the majority of the hot liquid down his front.
“Gods, Kaiba, I am so sorry,” he wiped at the stains with a handful of napkins he had under the tray to keep from burning his hands. “Man, I didn’t mean for this to happen. I just thought you might like some coffee.”
The strangest thing in the world happened. Seto started to laugh.
“Stop, puppy. It’s okay,” he chuckled. “It’s fine really.”
“But your suit, it’s ruined. I’ll pay for the dry cleaning or to replace it, or...”
Seto did the only thing he could think of to stop the blond’s babbling; he kissed him.
~And he wonders why he searched so long
When he was always there
At that diner waitin' on~
For one split second, Joey was stunned. Then he was thrilled, and when Seto’s warm muscle flicked across his lips, all higher brain function went out the window as all the blood in his body went south. And stayed there.
Seto moaned when Joey’s lips parted at his silent request. He savored the delicious flavor of the blond, a taste far sweeter than the finest chocolate. His hands twined themselves into the blond hair, pulling him closer.
Joey pressed his body closer, not wanting the kiss to ever end. But like all things good and bad, it did.
Seto softly smiled at the blond, cheeks tinged pink, amber eyes wide with surprise, swollen lips slightly parted. “Beautiful, my beautiful puppy,” he murmured.
Joey’s blush darkened, “I’m really sorry for the mess.”
Seto laughed, “It’s fine, puppy, Everything is just fine.” He pulled him into a gentle hug, “Please tell me you’re off now.”
Joey nodded, unable to make his mouth form the one simple word.
“Let me take you home.”
“Yes,” came the soft reply.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The CEO took Joey’s hand silently leading him to the limo. After a few minutes, Joey realized they were heading not to his house but rather Seto’s.

“I thought you were taking me home.”

Seto slowly trailed his eyes over ever inch of the blond’s body, coming to rest on his face. “I asked to take you home. I never specified whose,” he smirked.

Seeing the obvious lust in Seto’s eyes made Joey smile; it was the other emotion shining deep within those sapphire eyes that made his pants feel two sizes too small.

Not a word was said as they entered the mansion. It was silent inside, the only light coming from the TV in the living room; Mokuba was sound asleep on the sofa, a half full bowl of popcorn and an empty soda can on the floor beside him.

Seto carefully covered the boy with his trench coat then glanced at the blond. Joey leaned on the door frame, hands shoved in his pockets. Seto walked up to him and gently brushed their lips together. “Come upstairs,” he murmured.

The blond nodded and silently followed the brunet up the stairs. At the top, they walked down the darkened hall, until Seto opened the door to a particular room.

Azure eyes watched as Joey slowly took in the massive bedroom. The blond was briefly surprised when soft jazzy music filled the room.

Seto took Joey’s face in his hands, kissing him slowly, softly but still conveying his need and desire for the blond. “Do you want this, puppy?” he murmured. “Do you want me?”

“Yes, gods, yes,” he moaned. “I want you, all of you.”

He stepped back from the blond, taking his waist in his hands and carefully moved backwards to the bed. Joey was opening the buttons of Seto’s shirt. He turned them when he felt his foot nudge the end of the bed, easing the blond down then shrugged his jacket and shirt off.

Joey licked his lips, watching every move the brunet made. He felt Seto’s fingers trailing up both his legs then grasp the hem of his shirt, pulling it up slowly to reveal the toned body beneath. He shivered as the cooler air of the room hit his heated skin and leaned up, helping the brunet rid him of his shirt.

Tossing the shirt over his shoulder, Seto pushed the blond back down on the bed, straddling his legs. He leaned down, nipping along his collarbone.

Joey whimpered softly at the warm lips trailing over his skin, becoming a loud moan when the brunet bit lightly at the base of his neck, marking him.

Seto licked at the small bruise soothingly, appreciating the keening sounds coming from the blond. Slender fingers gently rolled one dusky nipple to hardness as warm heat engulfed the other.

Joey’s body arched up, trying to make contact with Seto’s lean form over him to ease the fire burning within. He cried out in frustration, meeting only air.

“Naughty puppies will have to go to obedience school,” Seto murmured.

Joey was panting slightly, “Seto... don’t tease...please... don’t tease.”

“I’m not teasing, puppy,” he scattered small kisses over flushed cheeks. “I’m worshiping the golden god in my bed.”

Joey was amazed he didn’t come on the spot from the tenderness and love in the brunet’s words.

Seto moved down, trailing tiny kisses and gentle nips over firm abs. He dipped his tongue in the shallow hollow of the blond’s navel.

Joey squirmed under the brunet, whimpering again.

“Shh, baby,” Seto nuzzled Joey’s stomach just above his waistband. “I’ll ease that burning, I promise,” he gently brushed his fingers over the bulge in the blond’s pants.

Seto sat up and unbuttoned the blond’s jeans, pulling the zipper open slowly. He glanced up at his soon to be lover, eyes closed and his upper body glistening with sweat from his ministrations. He smirked gently as he slid the rough denim over Joey’s slim hips and thighs. When the offending fabric was in the floor, Seto placed a light kiss just under the head of the blond’s arousal.

Joey cried out in surprise and pleasure as he arched closer.

Pleased with his reaction, the brunet didn’t give Joey time to recover, taking his length completely into his mouth. His firm grip on the blond’s hips stopped him from thrusting deeper.

“Hmmm...” Seto grazed his teeth gently along Joey’s rigid length as he moved his head up and down.

“Seto...gods...” Joey decided complete sentences were highly overrated when a single word was more than sufficient. “More...”

Seto drew his tongue along the underside of Joey’s shaft then relaxed his gag reflex as he swallowed him.

With a strangled cry, Joey fisted his hands in the cinnamon locks and let his body take control. He thrust deep into the fiery heat of the brunet’s mouth.

Seto allowed the blond free reign as his thrusts became frantic and uneven. He was rewarded for his efforts as Joey began to moan his name, ending with a scream as, with a final thrust, he released into Seto’s hungry mouth.

He lazily licked the blond clean then leaned over, kissing him deeply. “I want you, puppy,” he murmured in the other’s ear.

“Take me, I’m right here.”

Joey opened his eyes as Seto’s weight left his body. He watched as the brunet speed stripped himself of his pants and boxers, gazing at Seto’s tall, lean body hungrily.

“You’re beautiful, Seto.”

The brunet laid his body fully over the blond’s, “No more so than you.” He kissed him fiercely, one hand fishing around in the bedside table drawer.

Seto flipped the tube open, squeezing a large amount of the gel onto his fingers. He gently stroked the smooth skin of Joey’s inner thigh as he pressed a slick digit against his entrance.

Joey tensed slightly as his body was invaded, hissing at the pain.

“Sorry, puppy,” Seto nuzzled his neck, kissing his pulse point. It couldn’t be helped, but it still tugged at the brunet’s heart to have to hurt his lover.

“I’m okay,” Joey whispered, kissing his cheek. “Go on.”

Seto kissed the blond, swallowing the small cry as he entered a second finger. He patiently worked the two fingers, stretching until he felt the tight muscles loosen. He bent his fingers slightly, pressing deep into the velvety heat below him.

He knew he had found his mark when Joey arched up, gasping. “You like that, puppy?” Joey nodded, and Seto did it again.

Seto smiled as he slid in the final finger, continuing to stroke his lover from the inside, stretching him and occasionally brushing against the soft bundle of nerves.

After several more minutes, Seto decided Joey had been teased enough. He smirked at the whine of protest from the blond when he withdrew his fingers and settled himself between the blond’s legs. Grasping Joey’s hips, he pressed the head of his erection against his entrance. Unable to stop, desperate for the blond’s heat, Seto’s hips snapped foreword, burying himself deep in the willing body beneath him.

Seto groaned. Such heat, searing heat wrapped around him. Death by fire wouldn’t be bad if it was this fire.

“Move,” Joey demanded, pushing against the brunet.

“My puppy is impatient,” Seto withdrew and thrust back in.

Seto kept his pace intentionally slow, much to the blond’s frustration. Joey protested with small sounds and needy movements of his hips which the brunet ignored.

“Gods...Seto... PLEASE,” tears of frustration trailed down his cheeks. “I-I need...gods.”

Seto closed his eyes tightly, the blond’s anguished plea shattering his control. He found himself pounding into Joey’s body, hard, wringing pleasure filled cries from the amber eyed boy with each thrust. Neither would last long at this frantic pace.

He wanted to. He never wanted to stop. He was surrounded by Joey Wheeler, his taste, touch, scent, and sight only registered the blond. It was overwhelming. Joey was giving himself to him. He was surrendering, completely, trusting the brunet to be gentle and loving.

Quiet words came to him. “Please... love...never stop.”

Seto tenderly kissed the sweaty face, “Never, puppy. I’ll always love you.” He snaked a hand between their bodies, stroking the blond’s silken shaft roughly.

Joey bit down on Seto’s shoulder to stifle his scream. His fingers dug into the steely muscles of the brunet’s arms. He thrust upwards harder and faster, needing release.

Seto angled his thrust and hit the blond’s nerve bundle dead on.

Joey screamed as his world went white; his release covering their stomachs.

Seto felt Joey’s body clamp down on him, almost painfully. With a final thrust and a pleasured cry, he filled the blond with his essence, collapsing on top of him.

They lay together, panting softly, completely spent. After several minutes, Seto carefully withdrew from his lover, cradling him to his chest. Joey leaned up to softly press bruised lips together in a tender kiss.

The sound of Seto’s heartbeat and the feel of his hand stroking his hair was lulling Joey to sleep. Which was probably why he wasn’t sure what the brunet had just said. “What?”

“Stay with me.

"Here at the mansion?”

“Yes.”

Joey leaned up on an elbow, staring in disbelief at the brunet, “You want me to move into the mansion with you and Mokuba?”

Seto smiled, “Yes.”

“Why!?”

“I love you, silly puppy,” he kissed Joey’s forehead. “You’re my somebody.”

“So that’s how it happened.”

Tristan shook his head, “Wow, who’d have thought you guys hook up because of coffee.”

“I guess there’s still hope for you then.” Laughing, Joey dodged the playful swipe his friend took at his head.

“If you say so,” Tristan drained his soda. “I need to go; my parents wanted me home for some unpaid labor.”

“Take care, man. I’ll see you at school.”

Tristan paid for his lunch then turned back to his blond friend, who was kissing a certain CEO. “Hey, Kaiba. You ever figure out who makes the coffee here?”

“No.”

“You’re kissing him.”

“Hey that was my secret!”

Tristan darted out the door, avoiding the towel the blond threw, and ran smack into someone carrying a large bag of groceries.

“I am so sorry!” he bent down to retrieve an onion rolling towards theeet.eet. “I didn’t even see you.”

“It’s okay, Tris. No harm done.”

Tristan found himself staring into the most beautiful emerald eyes, “Otogi.”

The dice master smiled, “Tristan.”

“Can I help you with that? It’s the least I can do, since I tried to run you over.”

“Sure, and if you want you can stick around and help me eat it too.”

Tristan took the grocery bag in one hand and Otogi’s in the other. Neither saw the grinning blond and brunet watching approvingly as they walked away.

SOMEBODY

At a diner down on Broadway they make small talk
When she brings his eggs and fills his coffee cup
He jokes about his lif life
And tells her he's about ready to give up

That's when she says "I've been there before
But keep on lookin'
Cause maybe who you're lookin' for is

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the mornin' train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at but never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody"

Across town in a crowded elevator
He can't forget the things that waitress said
He usually reads the paper
But today he reads a strangers face instead

It's that blue eyed girl
From two floors up
Maybe she's the one
Maybe he could fall in love with

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the mornin' train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at but never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody

Now they laugh about the moment that it happened
A moment they both missed until that day
When he saw his future in her eyes
Instead of just another friendly face

And he wonders why he searched so long
When she was always there
At that diner waitin' on

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the mornin' train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there
Oh, somewhere out there
Is somebody
