Hikari Kena> Yep. Anyway, this fic came to me during my World History Final, which I probably flunked big ass! I didn't know ANY of it. Oh well, I still got my A+ in it. Know something? 75% of my history class got F's. The other 25% have...or had A's. I'm one of the 25% who got A's. That's a good thing. Now, here's the fic.

Notes: This takes place in Medieval England, between 500-a thousand years after the fall of Egypt. I could be wrong though. Since we don't know the timeline in which Yami and Bakura really lived, use your imagination.
Note 2: Bakura will be very OOC in this. I've read fics that have him as a bad-ass yami who beats up Ryou. What if there was a reason to this? What if something happened to Bakura before Ryou's dad received the Ring from Pegasus? I've always wondered, so I invented. Plus, with nearly seven hours of nothing to do in school during Finals, my imagination runs wild. I'll try to keep this fic as close to the real Medieval England as possible, but don't hold your breath.

Chapter One: Egypt
Kendrick Bakura of Etamitlu (E-ta-mit-lu) grins as he pulls the golden ring-like object from underneath Egyptian ruins. In the middle of the ring is a pyramid with the Eye of Ra on it. Spikes point out in all directions, and a brown cord is at the top, so a wearer can sling it around his or her neck.
"Find anything?" wonders Kendrick's brother, Ryou. The outcast. His long, spikey white-grey hair sticks out in every direction. Brown eyes show emotion so easily, causing people to always tease him, because they enjoy the hurt Ryou shows. However, Ryou seems to do the best out in this hot, Egyptian weather besides his best friend, Yuugi Mouto of Tesher.
Yuugi. Now that's a weird kid. Black hair in seven spikes, all tipped crimson, with blonde bangs and wide, expressive purple eyes. Both Yuugi and Ryou are dressed in the local Egyptian style of a billowy white outfit and white turban. However, the outfit is thin enough so that neither boy collapses from heat exhaustion.
"No." lies Kendrick to Ryou.
"HEY! Ryou!" yells Yuugi from a pole. Ryou runs over as Yuugi pulls out a yellow box with the Eye of Ra on it.
"Cool! Wanna open it?" asks Ryou. Yuugi nods enthusiastically. Ryou helps Yuugi place the golden box on a slab of rock, and both of them open it to reveal golden pieces.
"Cool. A puzzle." says Yuugi. Ryou laughs. Everyone knows that Yuugi enjoys challenging things, and nothing is more challenging than a puzzle. Yuugi grins and places the top back on. Both miss how the box glows gently as Yuugi holds it protectively.
"What did you find?" asks Kendrick as Yuugi and Ryou walk over. He has placed the Ring object in his bags.
"Just this box full of puzzle pieces." says Yuugi, half scared Kendrick'll take the box away. Which is why he mentioned the pieces.
"Oh. You can keep it then." says Kendrick, disinterested.
"How long?" asks Ryou yawning.
"We leave for England tonight." says Kendrick. "And we'll be home in about three months, if we don't daddle."
"We won't." says Ryou and Yuugi. They may be the youngest of the group, but they'll be helpful if it kills them.
"Then let's start packing up." says Kendrick. 'And i'll figure out this Ring.'
Ryou and Yuugi nod and run off towards the encampment. None of them notice the man standing behind a pillar.
"Be wary young ones. Evil will try to corrupt your soul, and will succeed unless your trusts your hearts, and the Spirits in the Items." says the man. The winds blows and the man is gone.
