Christmas Wishes
*****

It was the night before Christmas.

Ryou sat on the bench in the park, the cold cold night running shivers down his spine. Of all the holidays in the world, he loved Christmas the most and this year, he was spending it with his most important person. Unfortunately, that person seemed to be running a little late.

Ryou glanced at his watch and sighed. It was nearly 9:00 Christmas Eve, and Malik was still nowhere in sight. The dark-skinned boy had promised to celebrate Christmas with his boyfriend, but the Egyptian was already 2 hours late.

"He could have called earlier if something came up." Ryou mumbled miserably to no one in particular, his tender brown eyes filling up with tears. He sighed yet again as he thought of the dinner he'd fabulously cooked up for this occasion getting cold. He thought of how hard he had planned this dinner, how much time he'd taken to decorate the house just for Malik...and the idiot had stood him up for no reason at all. Ryou's loneliness was slowly giving way to anger, and even jealousy got the better of him when he looked up and saw all the pairs of lovers in the park acting all sweet and mushy.

Pouting heavily, he stood up and stuffed his gloved hands in his pockets, walking away and heading for home. He was never going to forgive Malik for walking out on him at the most important event of the year.

*****

"Isis, please! I'm two hours late!" Malik glared at his sister, as the Egyptian woman entered the house with two tall and intimidating men.

Isis motioned for him to shut up, as she led the visitors to the dining room where Rishid was waiting to entertain them.

"Isis!" Malik grumbled yet again, as soon as his sister returned to the kitchen and they were alone. "Please! Let me go! Ryou is waiting for me at the park."

"Malik!" Isis cried in exasperation as she faced her brother. "I know how important Ryou is to you, but you can't go. Those two visitors we're having are ambassadors from Egypt and we need their help to find us a permanent place for my museum here in Japan. Besides, I TOLD you to leave this night free! Why did you say 'yes' when Ryou asked you?"

"You would too if he turned his cute puppy dog eyes on you. Anyways, why must I have to be here? " Malik muttered. He glanced frantically at his watch. Ryou was never going to forgive him.

Isis frowned. "YOU'RE the one who wanted to stay here in Japan and be with your boyfriend. How can I pay for our needs if I don't have a job? If they agree to give us the museum, we can stay here...and you can see Ryou all you want."

"But----"

"No buts, Malik. UNLESS you want us to return to Egypt..."

"No!"

"So stop whining and come to dinner!"

Malik scowled, defeated. How was he going to explain all this to Ryou? "If Ryou doesn't forgive me, I'm blaming all the fault on you."

Isis smirked triumphantly. "So you say, little brother. Now put on your best front and greet our guests well. It's Christmas after all."

*****

Ryou sobbed on his pillow, his tears wetting the soft sheet. He hated Malik so much! How could he do this to him? The Egyptian didn't even leave a message on the phone or an explanation, and when Ryou tried to call the Ishtar's residence, the line was cut. What kind of game was Malik playing anyway? It wasn't funny.

Ryou wiped away his tears with the back of his hand, as he made his way to the living room. The table he'd set for two, along with tomanomantic candle light was dying away, and the food was colder than death.

With a heavy heart, he began cleaning up the ignored feast. He felt so lonely, having no one to spend Christmas with. Yuugi and the others won't be having their party until tomorrow, to which Ryou was invited of course, but it wouldn't be the same. He wouldn't be alone with Malik.

/Alone? I'm alone alright...without Malik./ Ryou thought angrily, as he stuffed the wasted food into a black trash bag. /I hate you./

"Who do you hate?" A blinding light suddenly appeared, as the spirit of the tomb robber left the sennen ring, and was now standing in front of his hikari.

Ryou looked surprised at first, then without another thought, he threw his arms around Bakura's waist and began crying uncotrollably. "YAAAMIIII!!!!"

"What's wrong, aibou?" Bakura inquired, patting Ryou's head gently. "Who hurt you? I swear I'm going to knock his teeth out!"

"MALIK!"

"That bastard AGAIN?" Bakura shook his head, then with a swift movement, he swept Ryou off his feet and carried him to the sofa. "Alright, I'll kill him for you if you want."

"No." Ryou said as his yami settled next to him on the couch. "You don't have to...I mean---"

"What did he do?" Bakura asked, Ryou nuzzling comfortably beside him. "No wait, let me guess. He broke another promise again, didn't he?"

Ryou nodded numbly. "I was so excited to have Christmas dinner with him, Yami. I prepared everything perfectly...yet he...he stood me up without giving any reason!"

Bakura thought for a moment, then he gently pushed Ryou off him and got up. "Now, don't worry anymore, hikari. I'll make sualikalik will realize---what a GRAVE error he's commited."

Ryou gave a start as he eyed his yami suspiciously. "What are you going to do?"

"Oh nothing." Yami Bakura smirked, slowly disappearing from Ryou's sight. "I promise I won't hurt him, that enough for you?"

With that, the tomb robber completely disappeared.

Ryou sat against the couch, his heart pounding in his chest. He only wished Yami Bakura won't be doing anything stupid that could get Malik in trouble...even if the Egyptian really deserved it.

Ryou stared idly at the burning fireplace, still hurt and slightly worried. It was already 10 pm...Two more hours and Christmas Eve will be over. The white-haired boy felt his eyelids drop, as sleep started to overtake him...

Then the doorbell rang.

Ryou jumped up, surprised at the sudden noise that wrecked his peaceful slumber. Feeling slightly lazy, he trudged to the door slowly and opened it.

/Strange./ Ryou thought, as he was met with nothing but the dark night and the soft falling snow. He looked around for any signs of the culprit who rang the doorbell...but was in vain.

Confused, he was about to give up and close the door when a sharp cry reached his ears. Realizing where the cry came from, he glanced down at his doorstep.

There was a tiny basket...with a tiny baby inside it, crying and shivering endlessly.

"Oh, Ra." Ryou breathed, as he realized how odd this was and...how much the baby looked like...

Ryou looked around again, for any signs of the baby's companion...but again, it was failure. The baby gave another piercing cry, and Ryou, picked the basket up and brought it inside.

"Shh...baby, it will be alright." Ryou said soothingly, as he picked the baby up from the basket and began rocking it gently in his arms. The baby whimpered in his grasp and Ryou stared at it, not being able to get over the fact that the baby's face was so familiar to him.

He rocked the baby some more and lulled it back to sleep, feeling somewhat dazed and excited all at the same time. As soon as the baby, wrapped in nothing more but a thick blanket, was asleep, Ryou laid it down on the floor by the fireplace to keep the child warm. Then he sat beside the baby, and stroke its supple skin gently. Ryou felt elated when the baby smiled in its sleep, and when it seemed to like the feel of his touch. Strangely, he wondered if----

Glancing around, he grabbed the basket and began searching through it for whatever signs or things that could tell him where the baby came from.

A single white note fluttered in his hand, and Ryou read it with widened eyes.

&&&&&

Ryou,

You've been a good boy. Merry Christmas!

Santa

&&&&&

"No. Way." Ryou breathed deeply, placing the note back on the basket, and staring numbly at the baby on the floor. The soft carpet beneath it kept it warm...and Ryou felt---he felt happy. He wasn't alone anymore.

"If you're really from Santa..." Ryou stroke the child's hair, realizing the strange mixture of sand-color and specks of white on the soft locks. "Then---then---"

The baby's eyes fluttered open, and it stared dumbly at Ryou, not crying...but looking. Pretty lavender eyes...

Ryou realized the pale skin of the child...exactly like his... if so...then...

The baby smiled at him, its soft hands grabbing his finger and refusing to let it go.

Sand-colored hair with specks of white, lavender eyes, pale moonlight skin....

"Why do you look so much like Malik and me?" Ryou asked the baby, as if daring it to speak and explain itself.

The baby tilted its head cutely to one side as it began to suck on Ryou's finger. "Mama."

Ryou stared at the baby in aghast. "DON'T CALL ME THAT!"

*****

Malik shuffled his feet underneath the table, feeling impatient and annoyed. The dinner with the ambassadors had been excruciatingly boring. Isis had done ALL of the talking and the ambassadors simply pigged out on the food and nodded. Malik knew the two bumbling idiots didn't care about the museum...he wondered if they were even seriously considering his sisters' pleas.

"So you see...." Isis ranted on and Malik tuned her out for the moment. He was still worried to death of how Ryou will react when they see each other. He wondered what was worse---Ryou getting angry at him---or Ryou crying? Malik muttered an Egyptian curse at the thought.

//Hikari no baka.// Yami Marik's voice boomed out in his mind.

//What do you want?// Malik snapped inwardly, hoping his insane Yami would l him him alone.

//You might want to know that the tomb robber is on his way to ruin your perfect dinner and kill you for ditching his hikari.//

"This dinner is anything but perfect!" Malik declared aloud, and all the eyes sitting on the table were now trained at him. "It's---wait a sec--Yami Bakura's going to what?"

There was a huge blinding flash of light, and soon, Yami Bakura and Yami Marik had both left their sennen items and were now stng Ong ON the table, crushing the food Isis cooked with such passion beneath their feet. The two Egyptian guests were screaming like little ladies.

"Oh no." Isis felt like crying in despair as the two ambassadors stood up and hurriedly left the house, both muttering something about lack of respect.

"Ah, you two." Malik smirked at the two yamis. "Always having to show off with a grand ence, nce, huh?"

Before either yamis could reply, Isis stood up angrily to make her presence known.

"Damn it." she muttered, glaring at her brother. She stood up and pulled Rishid with her, both exiting the room. "Let's go,Rishid. This night is RUINED! And Malik---oh, you are so going to return to EGYPT!"

Malik sighed. His sister can be so childish at times.

"You're going back to Egypt?" Bakura asked with a raised eyebrow, momentarily forgetting his anger.

Malik shrugged. "She can't find a museum and we're going to be broke. So I guess, yeah. I knew she never had a chance at the museum anyway---"

All of a sudden, Bakura pounced on Malik and angrily punched him on the face. "What the---!?! You're going back to Egypt, you baka! What about Ryou, huh? You're going to LEAVE him just like that?"

"Hey!" Malik pushed the tomb-robber away, getting pretty pissed off himself. He rubbed the bruise on his face. "Ryou and I---it's not like we're married or anything! I don't want to leave er--er---but I don't have much of a choice, do I? Ryou will find someone else better than me..."

"But he doesn't WANT anybody else!" Bakura cut in, venom dripping from his voice. "I swear I'm going to---"

Letting out a frustrated sigh, Bakura turned to Malik's Yami. "Talk some sense into your hikari, you useless son-of-a---"

"Don't finish that." Marik smirked. "Just because I let you be seme ONCE doesn't give you dominance over me. Anyways, you want ME to talk SENSE to my baka of a hikari?"

Bakura blinked. "You're right. Insane people don't make sense."

"Look who's talking." Malik mocked.

"Well look who's talking about who's talking." Bakura retorted.

The two began to have a glaring match, and Yami Marik made no move to stop them. He found it all too amusing.

Finally, Bakura let go of his glare. "Ryou's crying at home because you DITCHED him and made him wait in the snow for 2 whole hours. What the hell were you thinking!?!"

"I---"Malik stopped abruptly. "I didn't WANT to."

"So what're you going to do about it?"

Malik bit his lip, clenching his fists. Bakura and Marik both eyed him and made him feel as guilty as possible.

Finally, Malik gave an exasperated sigh, and giving up, he grabbed his jacket as he left home and headed for Ryou's house. "Dammit, please forgive me, Ryou."

As soon as he left, Bakura glared at Marik. "Your hikari doesn't deserve mine."

Marik smirked, pulling Bakura closd kid kissing him. "But I deserve, you right?"

"No." Bakura smirked back, as Marik pulled him in a tighter and more passionate lip-locking. "...or maybe you do."

*****

Malik rang the doorbell to Ryou's home as he panted unstoppably. He couldn't ride his motorcycle because of the deep snow on the way, and he had been forced to run.

The door opened hesistantly by the third time he rang the bell, and Ryou's head popped out.

"Ryou." Malik began heatedly. "I---"

Ryou pouted when he realized who it was. "What do you want?"

"Let's talk."

"Talk?" Ryou laughed shortly. "Can't you see how late it is? Go away. I'm busy."

"Ryou---" Malik stretched out his hand and held the door open when his boyfriend attempted to close it. "Please---just a few minutes---"

"No, Malik." Ryou shook his head, but his face was turning red and tears were threatening to fall again. "I waited for you for 2 hours in the snow and 2 more hours here. I tried calling your home but I couldn't get through. You didn't even leave me a message to explain why you'd be 4 hours late! And Yami Bakura told me you were leaving for Egypt---and he also said you don't care about how I'll be feeling because we're not married or anything! I thought I meant more to you than just a winter fling! You've hurt me enough this Christmas and I'm sick of it! I'm so tired of this---of you---please just go away and leave me alone!"

Both boy were silent for the time being. Ryou, speechless with anger. Malik, speechless with---shame---and aggravation at Ryou's yami. Mental note: he was going to murder Yami Bakura later for being such a blabber mouth.

Ryou attempted to close the door again, but Malik was stronger than him and the Egyptian boy's outstretched hand prevented him from doing so.

"Ryou---" Malik looked deep into the smaller boy's eyes. "Listen to me. I didn't want to hurt you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet you as promised, it was thoughtless and inconsiderate of me, but I thought that the meeting with the ambassadors---the reason I couldn't come for dinner---would be the only chance I have left to stay in Japan and be with you!"

"What for?" Ryou whispered sadly. "I'm just a short-term fuck toy to you, aren't I? You're leaving and not caring...because we're not MARRIED...I actually thought you LOVED me---" Tears began falling rapidly down Ryou's face, but he didn't wipe them away. Somehow, he liked the feeling of releasing his frustrations and anger that way.

"Ryou...baby." Malik held his free hand up to Ryou's cheeks and wiped the tears away himself. Ryou let him. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean it like that. I DO love you...that will never change. But I just thought---if ever I truly have to go back to Egypt---I wanted you to forget about me and search for someone else. I don't deserve you...all I do is hurt you...."

"But I don't want anyone else!" Ryou protested. "I can't love anybody else! It's only you I want! We're soulmates, Malik!"

"Ryou---"

"You don't believe me, do you?" Ryou sniffed and he felt pathetic when he saw the pity in Malik's eyes. As though he was some school girl that had gotten herself pregnant and was now clinging on to the child's father. "Maybe you're right. I knew it. Santa Claus' such a fink..."

Malik gave him a confused look. "Ryou?"

"I was probably hallucinating." Ryou mumbled to himself, not hearing Malik at all. "Of course I was. Babies don't just appear at your doorstep out of nowhere. Boys don't give birth to babies either...and anyway, I haven't been a good boy...Santa's such a liar..."

Malik grabbed both Ryou's shoulders and shook him gently. "Ryou! Are you okay?"

Ryou stopped mumbling, as he narrowed his eyes and studied the Egyptian's face. "No...I wasn't hallucinating! I definitely wasn't!"

With a determined expression on his face, Ryou freed himself from Malik's grasp. He walked back toward the house, leaving the door open for Malik to come in and follow him.

"Ryou...what is wrong?" Malik asked, worried about his lover. Hurrying, he arrived at the living room, where Ryou led him.

His eyes widened in shock at the sight of Ryou, kneeling on the floor, gently hugging the small body of a wiggling baby in his arms.

"I knew you were real...I knew it..." Ryou whispered repeated to the child, clutching it possessively. "I knew it...I knew it..."

"Ryou..." Malik walked forward and knelt beside Ryou, his eyes on the baby. He couldn't believe it. The infant looked so much like him and Ryou, as though it could have been their child---which was of course, absurd---but... "Ryou, where did it come from?"

Ryou glanced at Malik for a moment, then he smiled his first real smile that Christmas Eve. "Santa Claus."

Malik hesitated for a bit, then he asked. "Is it---ours---?"

Ryou shrugged. "Do you want it to be?"

Malik looked at the child once again, and the baby smiled up at him, its arms reaching out to him. Malik took one of the baby's hands and kissed it. "What are we going to name it?"

Ryou smiled, placing a kiss on the baby's forehead. "The baby's a boy. What about Yuki?"

"Winter, huh?" Malik smiled, leaning forward to place a chaste kiss on Ryou's lips. "That's pretty."

As soon as that was said, another blinding flash of light came, and two yamis (we all know who), appeared, wearing santa hats and holding candy canes.

"It's 12:00!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" Yami Bakura and Yami Marik said together, both looking sugar -high.

Ryou laughed at the yamis' strange ensemble, and Malik blinked as he was once again taken aback by his love's beautiful smile.

"Ryou." Malik said, grabbing Ryou's hand. "You're beautiful."

Ryou blushed, and his voice was soft. "So are you."

"Stop with the mushy stuff, already!" Yami Bakura demanded, waving Ryou and Malik's sweetness away with his hand. Something white and moving caught his eye. "Hikari, what do you have there?"

"Yeah." Yami Marik added, trying to take a peek at the wiggling bundle in Ryou's arms. "What is it?"

"Not 'it'." Malik explained, as Ryou shifted the baby into a comfortable view for the yamis to see. "His name's Yuki, and he's mine and Ryou's baby."

Bakura and Marik gaped at them in shock, and the two hikaris laughed at their funny-looking expressions.

Bakura swallowed. "So---which one of you gave birth?"

"Why didn't we know anything about it?" Marik asked.

"Of course Ryou gave birth to him." Malik smirked, winking. Ryou blushed 1000 shades of red. "And you don't know because you two don't ever pay attention."

Marik eyed Bakura. "So your hikari's half-boy, half-girl?"

"HEY!" Ryou began to protest, but Malik silenced him with a kiss, letting his tongue slip inside Ryou's mouth...to which the other moaned in pleasure.

When they finally breathed for air, Malik licked Ryou's jaw seductively. "Let them figure it out themselves. I don't think they're THAT stupid."

Ryou chuckled. "You think?"

Malik grinned, deciding to change the subject, as Ryou looked particularly enticing at that exact moment. "You know, you still haven't given me my Christmas gift."

"Well, neither have you." Ryou kissed the tip of Malik's nose, knowing fully well what the other wanted. Standing up, he placed Yuki in Yami Bakura's arms. "Please baby-sit him for me."

Bakura looked at him, then at the baby giggling up at him. "Why? What are you up to?"

"Nothing, yami. You love me, don't you? Then take care of Yuki for me for a few minutes." Ryou grinned, taking hold of Malik's arm, and pulling him to the bedroom. "Merry Christmas, yami."

Bakura and Marik watched their hikaris enter the bedroom and slam it shut.

Marik smirked at Bakura. "Want to bet those 'few minutes' of theirs will turn to 'many hours'?"

Bakura smirked back. "I don't think I need to. It's pretty obvious, isn't it?"

"What about you---Yuki---" Marik turned to the baby in Bakura's arms. "What do you think?"

"Hey, stay away from my godchild-to-be." Bakura warned Marik. "You're bad influence to him."

Marik snorted. "Yeah, and you're what? Good? Besides, it's not like Ryou and Malik aren't BAD influences."

"Ryou isn't."

"The hell he isn't. Look at what they're doing in that bedroom of theirs now."

Bakura and Marik looked at the baby with earnest sympathy. "Poor kid. You've got HORNY parents."

Yuki simply giggled.

*****

Malik gave a seductive smile, as he pushed Ryou down to the bed and towered over him. "You want to be on top this time?"

Ryou shook his head, his arms held out to Malik impatiently. "No, thanks. You do well being on top."

"Whatever you want." Malik held Ryou's hands and kissed them gently, then his mouth traveled down Ryou's arms and onto his shoulder blades. Kissing harder, he began to suck on Ryou's neck, making sure to leave his mark. Ryou moaned in pleasure, as he hurriedly and quite sloppily unbuttoned Malik's jeans and pulled down his pants.

Malik smirked, also unbuttoning Ryou's clothing and discarding them on the floor. "You look more beautiful naked."

"You look sexier." Ryou teased back, pressing his hardened length against Malik. Malik began devouring his lips, his tongue once again finding its way within the depths of Ryou's mouth...way down his throat, their salivas mixing splendidly well.

Ryou panted when Malik finally let go, but both were just getting aroused.

And so the night---or rather morning----was spent in delicious love making, sometimes gentle, sometimes rough, but very fulfilling. Christmas gifts like this were truly the best.

*****

Bakura opened the bedroom door slightly, and Marik peeked in after him, holding the sleeping Yuki in his arms. "They're asleep."

They both entered and wide smirks suddenly covered the two yamis' mouths as the sight before them.

"I can't believe this."Bakura raised an eyebrow at the two naked bodies wrapped around each other. " So Malik DOES sleep INSIDE Ryou."

"I told you they're bad influences to our godchild!" Marik exclaimed. "If Yuki saw them like this..."

"Wait a sec." Bakura said. "What do you mean OUR godchild? It's not OURS. It's MINE."

Marik snorted. "Hey, I'm Malik's yami, you know. HE'D let me be godfather."

"He won't and neither would Ryou because you're sick, twisted, and insane."

"Like YOU aren't"

There was a slight stir from Yuki at the noise the two yamis were making, so Marik and Bakura decided to shut up.

"Just put him beside Ryou and Malik." Bakura commanded.

"No, he'll get pushed to the floor. Anyway, the bed is sticky with their semen." Marik countered. "We'll put him outside and let him sleep in the basket...then we'll quietly return to our sennen items."

"What?" Bakura protested, making his way out the bedroom. "No fuck?"

"Shut up, Bakura. We just had one."

"I was joking."

"Like hell you are."

*****

Malik opened one lavender eye, as he glanced at Ryou, nuzzled beside him. He considered getting up and taking Yuki back inside the bedroom (of course he was awakened when Bakura and Marik had their 'argument', he just didn't show it), but then realized he was still fully inside Ryou. Anyways, Yuki might not like the smell of sex.

He smiled and studied his lover's angelic face. Ryou was so beautiful. He leaned forward and kissed Ryou's lips lightly. They were never parting again. Yuki's existence was there to prove their love...and Malik WILL NOT let Egypt or whatever separate him from Ryou anymore.

With a yawn, he was about to return to sleep, when the window opened, and small white piece of paper flew in and landed on Malik's face.

Sputtering slightly, Malik read the note written on the paper.

&&&&&

Malik,

You've changed to be a good boy. Love your new family. Merry Christmas!

Santa

&&&&&&

Malik slowly crumpled the paper and threw it to the floor. "Santa Claus? This is crap..."

A soft gust of wind blew into the room, and just outside the window, running past the house, Malik could've sworn he saw a sleigh being pulled by reindeers...with a fat, bearded man sitting in the driver's seat laughing "ho ho ho!!!"

Malik smiled, pulling Ryou even closer to him, if that was even possible. "Or maybe not."
