Seto: O_O! All right! Serena does not own Yu-Gi-Oh, nor does she own the song ‘Here

Here is Gone

You and I got something
But it's all and then it's nothing to me, yeah

Jou limped across the school yard on his way to meet with Yugi and Yami. The
two were caught up in a duel so they didn’t notice Jou limping towards them. However,
Jou wasn’t aware of someone coming up behind him. He was very aware of them in a
matter of seconds though.

“What the matter mutt someone take your chew toy?” Jou turned to see Seto
Kaiba sneering at him. This was not what he needed today.

“Le’me alone Kaiba.” Jou said softly. Seto looked at him for a moment and Jou
thought he was doing nothing more than getting his next insult ready.

The thought hadn’t even crossed Seto’s mind. He in fact was drinking in the sight
of Jou. He had been confused all morning after Jou had not shown up for class and now
he was worried about the limp that he noticed Jou now sported. *Shut up brain! He’s a
mutt and I don’t worry about mutts.* he growled at himself mentally. Seto was very
aware that there was something deeper than insults between Jou and himself but he had
decided long ago to never act on it.

“What’s the matter mutt, don’t want to play today?” he asked with a mocking look
on his face.

“I’m just not in da mood for ya shit today.” Jou said in return but his voice didn’t
have the usual snap it normally held.

“Your in the mood for a go any other day mutt what makes today so different?”
Seto asked hoping to get to the bottom of this. He then saw a look of fear and anger cross
Jou’s face, but the other boy said nothing he simply turned and walked away.

And I got my defenses
When it comes to your intentions for me, yeah

Jou shook his head as he finally reached Yugi and Yami. The two were still at
their duel so it gave Jou a moment to think. *Why did he ask that? What the hell does he
want from me? What was I suppose to say ‘Sorry Kaiba but I can’t kick your ass today
because my father kicked mine so hard last night?’ Yeah right!* He figured if Kaiba ever
found out what his father did to him that he would never hear the end of it. He was pretty
sure Yugi and Yami knew when happened at his apartment but they keep quiet about it
and Jou was thankful for that. He’d didn’t know what he’d ever do if they asked just how
bad it’s gotten. How was he suppose to tell someone he’d been raped by his own father?

Seto walked back across the school yard and sat down under a tree watching Jou
from a distance. He knew something wasn’t right with the way the blonde had been
acting lately and he wanted nothing more than to find out what and fix it for him. He was
pulled out of his musings when he realized that Jou was staring back at him. He smirked
and that caused Jou to look away quickly.

A sudden groan from Yugi caused Jou to look at his best friend. She enough Yugi
had lost to Yami, who was grinning triumphantly. Jou smiled at his friends and they
quickly began talking.

“Don’t think we didn’t hear that little spat with Kaiba.” Yami said suddenly. Jou
paled and looked down at the ground.

“Jou it’s all right. You agreed to be civil to Kaiba while the rest of us agreed to be
friends with him, but what he said wasn’t very civil so we can’t expect you to be civil
back now can we?” Yugi said with a smile.

“Nah I shoulda been civil Yug, I shouldna sunk ta his level.” Jou said with a
frown.

Yami sensed that this would go no where and he also noticed that something was
very wrong with the blonde. He looked at Yugi for a moment before speaking to him
though their link.

//Aibou, I think we had better take Jou home.//

/What’s wrong Yami?/ Yugi asked giving Yami a worried look. Yami shook his
head.


//I’m not sure but something isn’t right. Come let’s go.// Yami said. Yugi looked
over at his friend and then back to Yami. He then nodded and stood.

“Come one Jou let’s go home. I’m not feeling to good.” Jou looked at his friend
with a puzzled expression but stood and followed Yugi and Yami out to the parking lot.

The three climbed into Yami’s car and headed to Yugi’s. Seto had watched the
three leave and Yami had exchanged a knowing look with him. *I was right there is
something wrong with my puppy.* Seto thought with a frown. He wanted to follow the
three but decided against it. He knew that was likely to freak Jou out. He simply stood
and decided to blow off his afternoon classes as well. He crossed the parking lot, got into
his car, and sped off towards his home.

And we wake up in the breakdown
Of the things we never thought we could be, yeah

Almost as soon as they had gotten Jou to a couch did he simply crash. He fell into
a fit full sleep while Yugi and Yami simply watched over him. It wasn’t until almost ten
at night that Jou finally woke up. He looked around alarmed and jumped up from the
couch scaring Yugi and alarming Yami. Jou looked at the clock and started grabbing his
things.

“Oh shit!” he yelled “Thanks fer lettin me come wit ya Yug I gotta go!” he said
hurriedly before running out of the game shop.

*Fuck why did I sleep so long!* Jou yelled mentally all the way to his apartment.
He ran up the two flights of stairs as fast a possible with his new limp and opened the
door hoping against hope that his father wasn’t home. Almost before he could yell we he
thrown up against the wall.

“Your late ya little bastard.” his father yelled drunkenly.



“I’m sorry pop I feel asleep.” Jou whispered out as best he could with his father’s
hand wrapped around his neck.



“I’ll teach ya not ta be late.” his father said with a sickening grin.

He slammed Jou’s head back against the wall and Jou saw stars. He the drew
back his fist and drive it into Jou’s nose causing it to spurt bright red blood. He then
threw Jou down to the floor and Jou did his best to crawl away. His father apparently
didn’t like this because he quickly turned and kicked Jou in the ribs. Jou was sure he had
heard one crack, but he was in to much pain already to be sure. After two more kicks Jou
began to spit up blood. He knew that it wasn’t a good thing and tied his best to protect his
chest.

This seemed to give his father other ideas. Jou suddenly became aware of the
tugging on his pants and tried to kick his father away. This annoyed the drunken man and
he gave Jou another swift punch to the stomach causing Jou to nearly pass out. His father
then proceeded to yank his pants down to his knees and flip him over. Again Jou tired to
crawl away but he simply couldn’t. He then hehis his father undo his own pants. It
wasn’t until his father slammed into him that he left a heart wrenching scream. Jou
passed out well before his father finished. His father didn’t even pull out before he to
passed out though he merely passed out from being drunk.

Across the hall Jou’s neighbor had heard the boy scream and quickly dialed the
number that had been left with her.

“Kaiba Corp. This is the secretary of Seto Kaiba.” a cheery woman answered.
The little old woman looked down at the number in her hands again almost sure she had
dialed the wrong number.



“I was told to call this number concerning Katsuya Jounouchi.” she saiftlyftly.



“One moment please.” The cheery woman’s voice left to be placed by a
advertisement for Dueling Disks.

Seto was busy typing away when the intercom buzzed letting him know he was
wanted. He looked down at it annoyed before pressing the button.

“I thought I said I wasn’t to be disturbed.” he said sounding rather annoyed.



“I know sir but some old woman is calling she said she was told to call about
Katsuya Jounouchi. Should I tell her your busy?” Seto looked surprised.

“NO! Put her through now!” He the heard the voice of the little old woman.

“Hello? Mr.Kaiba?” the old woman asked. Seto could tell by the sound of her
voice that she was worried.



“Yes this is Seto Kaiba. Has something happened to Jou?” He asked cutting right
to the chase.

“Oh Mr.Kaiba it was horrible. All I could hear was the sound of his father
screaming and the minutes later I heard little Jou let out this horrible scream!” she said
getting rather frantic.

“Please stay calm I’m on my way there now.” And with that he hung up the
phone and headed out of his office.

He ran though the building and didn’t stop until he reached his car. His driver
looked alarm at the look on his face but after Seto told him where to go he simply nodded
and started driving. He arrived at Jou’s quickly and jumped out of the car. He ran into
the building and up the two flights of stairs with lightening speed. He found the little old
woman in the hall crying. Seto went to her quickly.

“Ma’am what’s wrong?” he asked she said nothing she simply pointed at Jou’s
now open door.

Seto looked in to see Jou lying on the floor broken, bruised, bleeding, and still
attached to his disgusting excuse for a father. Seto went into the room and pushed Jou’s
father away while pulling Jou closer to himself. He looked back over to the woman.

“Please go and call the police.” he said. The woman nodded and went back into
her apartment.

Seto smoothed Jou’s hair down and kissed the boys forehead. *God damnit why
the hell didn’t he say anything? Why didn’t he tell anyone?* he thought to himself while
looking down at Jou’s face.

“What the fuck were you thinking Jou?” he asked softly knowing the other boy
couldn’t hear him. He was then startled by Jou suddenly moving. Jou’s eyes sprung
open.

Jou looked up at Seto with nothing but fear in his eyes. He tried to move away
from him but Seto just held him tighter. Jou then looked and noticed that his father was
away from him and settled down slightly. It was as if he hadn’t even noticed who Seto
was. Jou went to speak but nothing would come out of his mouth. Seto noticed the failed
attempt and looked at Jou.

“The police are on their way.” he said softly. Jou nodded and closed his eyes
again. Once he was sure Jou was asleep Seto’s kissed the boys forehead again.

Soon enough police and medical workers were all over Jou’s apartment. The
police taking Jou’s father away and the medical team taking Jou to the hospital. Seto
rode in the ambulance with Jou and called Yugi and the others on the way there. After an
hour Seto could no longer stand the wait and went outside he was soon followed by Yami
and Bakura. Once outside the three each lit up cigarettes and Yami and Bakura
exchanged knowing looks. Seto was a mess.

“You know Kaiba you really should consider telling Jou how you feel.” Yami said
thoughtfully. Seto glared at the former Pharaoh.

“Don’t look at him like that High Priest he had a point.” Bakura said before
taking a long drag from his cigarette. Soon Yugi bounded outside.

“Seto they want to talk with you.” Yugi said. Seto nodded and went to put out
his unfinished cigarette but it was grabbed by Yugi who began puffing away on it in
obvious need of nicotine.

Seto walked into the lobby again and was met by a doctor. The doctor looked
down on his chart and then back up at Seto.



“Mr. Kaiba we do not normally leave our patients in the care of non family
member but I think in this case we can make an exception.” Seto nodded



“How is he?” Seto asked not really caring about anything else at the moment. The
doctor looked down at his chart again.



“Well seems he’s had a rather bumpy night last night.” Seto looked confused and
then looked down at his watch sure enough it was four a.m. “We uncovered some rather
disturbing things. Katsuya Jounouchi has sustained a sprained wrist, three cracked ribs,
massive bruising on at least 50% of his body, a mild concussion, and the most disturbing
bit is we estimate that he’s been raped at least five times.” The doctor looked down his
glasses at Seto.

*His father did that to him five times?! Never again no one will ever lay a hand
on him again!* Seto vowed mentally. The doctor explained to the group Jou was in ICU
and that the could go and see him one at a time. The group then decided who would go
first. Yugi was going to go in but he was only gone for a minute not being able to stand
the sight of his friend hooked up to all sorts of machines. Yami went in but stayed only
for a moment vowing revenge on Jou’s father and promising he would do his best to
make sure nothing ever happened to Jou again. Bakura’s visit went about the same as
Yami’s except he vowed to cut out Jou’s father’s liver and feed it to a dog. Ryou like
Yugi couldn’t go in to see his friend like that. No on could manage to find Honda nor
could anyone find Anzu or Mai.

Seto was the last to go in. He looked down at the blonde on the bed and frowned.
He brushed some hair away from Jou’s face and began to speak softly.

“I’m sorry puppy I should have been able to help you more. I can’t do much for
you now except help you heal.” he said before kissing Jou lightly on the cheek.

I thought I lost you somewhere
But you were never really ever there at all

Seto looked down to see that Jou’s eyes were now open but they weren’t the
normal shining eyes he had become use too. They were now dull and angry. He realized
that the Jou that everyone knew had been gone for sometime. Seto was now determined
to find the old Jou. Suddenly Jou looked at Seto and smiled slightly. Seto was taken
aback by the smile.

“Thanks Kaiba.” Jou said before shutting his eye again and falling back to sleep.
Seto turned and headed out of the room and towards the doctor.

“When will he be able to go home?” he said the older man. The doctor thought
for a moment before answering.

“Well if his condition stays stable all night then I see no reason why he won’t be
able to go home tomorrow.” Seto nodded and headed out of the hospital being the last
one of the group to leave.

Serena: All right there’s chapter one for all of you, I hope I didn’t upset anyone with it
