Appointment Diary.

A.N: Erm, I’m a first-timer? I plead helpless ineptitude!
enjoy, hiss in disgust, whatever – but comments or recommendations as to improvements would be appreciated. And probably help the next chapter…
This was spawned by copious amounts of caffeine, an overactive imagination, and of course a conversation with my closet-yugioh-fan flatmate! So, its slashy as well as containing pitiful attempts at humour, innuendo, a rather strange variation of Malik and excessive use of the millennium rod. *cough*.
None of which I own, by the way – and I’m makinda oda out of it apart from more work piling up around me ^_^. Thanks, sorry in advance….@_@ – Bloodquartz.

Appointment diary.

Malik wasn’t used to hearing the word no. Not twice, and particularly not more than twice from the same person.
Seto Kaiba however was proving quite stubborn.
It had started out a challenge – now it was just getting irritating.
He shifted, leaning his weight fully on the edge of the counter that his hands rested on. The gold bands that encircled his wrists gleaming in the mid-afternoon sunlight and reflecting the burnished colour against the muscles playing under his darkened skin.
A fact not unnoticed by several Kaiba Corp employees who skittered around in the lobby looking slightly flustered.
He smirked to himself as he took in the video cameras surveying the area - Kaiba had better be enjoying the show. Because if the only blyes yes that were widening in appreciation were those of the insipid secretary who was staring at him in awe – then he was going to be in even more of a mood for having wasted his efforts getting out of bed.

“Maybe you should check again” he spoke quietly, his voice a combination of light flippantness and deeper power.
“Its Malik – and I’m sure… he’ll see me”
At the sound of his name she jumped. Apparently he’d rated a high enough bother to be mentioned on the staff memo.
A fact that didn’t particularly flatter him, as he knew that Joey, Tristan and Tea were on it as well. A group not particularly distinguished company in Kaiba terms.
“I-I’m sorry sir, but Mr Kaiba asked not to be disturbed…”
“I’m sure he did”
“He’s in meetings all day – all week really, and –“ she trailed off at his glare, her hands twisting around the pen she clutched nervously.
“He’s very busy – its quite hard to get in contact with him..”
“Especially by me.” He finished, letting anger creep over his features as his fingers drummed against the black shiny surface.
This was the third time.
The first time Seto had turned him away had been on the blimp before the duelling started.
Mockingly telling him he had more important matters to take care of.
The second time had been after the completion of the competition – those blue eyes flashing as he offered himself mockingly in consolation to the boys injured pride.
Now the third time he was being turned away - by Kaibas staff. As if his dismissal wasn’t worth the boys own time.
Fury boiled in his veins.
Playing nicely was getting him nowhere – not what he wanted. He’d participated in Kaibas game so far – buere ere was no way he was going to lose the prize that he wanted because of a little thing like idiotic stubbornness on the c.e.o’s part.
He looked up from where he gazed into the counter top, giving the anxious looking woman a blinding smile while shrugging his shoulders slowly.
Watching the way her eyes attempted to remove the light sleeveless shirt.
People really were simple to control, even without the help of certain millennium items – just looking good was enough usually.
“Can I..” she gulped her eyes still focused on his chest. “Can I take a message sir?”
“Of course” he smiled, casually turning his face so he was looking directly into the surveillance camera that sat focused just behind her needy expression.
“Tell him I’ll get in touch with soonsoon enough..” his smile tightened into a predatory grin. “– One way or another.” He let his tongue trace over his lower lip as he stared into the camera lens for a long moment. Turning abruptly and walking towards the door with an extra swing in his step as an added taunt to his exit. e’d e’d let his prey mull over that while he planned his next move. Kaiba was going to find that this opponent preferred playing by his own rules, and was willing to play just as ruthlessly and stubbornly as he did.
Who knew – he might even find he liked it.

The next morning Malik sat cloaked in sunlight on his bed, Idly stroking a small dappled cat while plotting over coffee.
He planned to get what he wanted – one Seto Kaiba – within the week. He’d waited long enough already, and he wasn’t best known for his patience.
Endurance, yes – patience…Not his strongest point.
He smiled to himself as the cat purred under his hand, stretching and twisting itself slightly into a more prone position in the soft sheeting.
Now he only had to get a hold of the neurotic CEO to inform him of this. No simple feat considering the erratic schedule the boy kept and his status of persona non-gratia with the Kaiba Corporation security staff.
He could kidnap Mokuba – probably with full Co-operation of the younger brat, but in terms of getting the brunettes attention; it was starting to get old.
Not to mention the fact that he intended to have him thinking about, well – things other than his younger brother’s welfare.
Besides, he could have more fun with other methods

He ruffled his fingers through the cats soft fur, musingly; He’d spent enough time in this bed picturing the intense brunette writhing under his hands, not to mention contemplating some of the few moments he’d stumbled over of Kaibas thoughts of him and his offers.
He bit his lip remembering the vivid imagination behind the blank, cool essiossion.
How the boy could keep a straight face while thinking so vividly and explicitly was somewhat incredible.
It would be interesting to see what exactly it would take to break that reserved demeanour.
At that thought amusement trickled over his features as a plan clicked into place.
Pushing the cat away gently, he stretched – the linen sheets draping around his hips dropping as he stood. He looked out the large window thoughtfully, his view stopping on the high tower of Kaiba Corp headquarters that loomed above the rest of the insignificant mass of domino city.
He was getting tired of playing ‘Kaibas game’ by ‘Kaibas rules’ as he’d so eloquently put it in the battle city finals.
Crossing the room he picked the millennium rod off the cat tht that it lay on. – Its cool form fitting into his grasp easily, the slight tingle of its power sliding through his skin and racing forward to mingle with his mind.
It just wouldn’t do to let the other boy labour under the mistaken idea that _he_ was in control of the situation.

Ok – the next chapter hopefully should be better. Less –‘plotti mor more ‘doing’ that sort of thing…

erm, i don't know if anyone will read this but i do sort of feel that if so many people are reading this then i should at least say something.
1. I apologise for not updating.
I'm studying full time, my life is rather crazy even for one as hermit as as i, and sort of ended up on yugioh strike when nz television played nothing but repeats for _five_ times in a row. It sort of puts a damper on your enthusiasm. But, as they have finally put on a new saga, i have new inspiration and _will_ work on this. I do vow to do so - unfortunately as its hit end of semmester and all assignments are due at once ...it wont be for the next two weeks. But then, if anyone is still reading this after the amount ome ime its been since i first posted, then - well, two little weeks is nothing.
again, apologies for people who were kind enough to read and actually wanted to see where it was going. I shall let you know ^_^ soon.
