High School

Weeks went by since then....Yuugi pretty much kept to himself,

hanging around with Haga, Ryazaki, and Hanasaki......Yami was

smoking and drinking again, and not afraid if Yuugi saw either.

Yuugi walked around the school with his head down when he heard

or saw Yami. Yami never turned away, he just looked at him, still

watching him but staying a distance away. Jounichi too kept a

distance. He was just keeping his suicidal friend in check.

Yuugi was distacted all day. All he could think about was

Miho's party. Mai bumped into him in the hallway.

"Hey Yuge, how are you holding up?" She asked to be nice.

"I told my parents you broke up with me, I couldn't let them

find out that I was with....Him." Yuugi was about to cry.

"Woah, easy you aint ball allover me are you?" Mai backed up.

"I'm fine." Yuugi wiped his eyes and headed for the boys bathroom.

He cried so loud anyone who came in heard him. But no one said anything

to him because of his rep as a 'Dark Angel'. Yuugi stopped crying hours later...

He just sat on the floor of the handicap stall silent, blank of thought and rational

reason. He left the boysroom and headed for the school roof. He stood up there

Looking at the sky, then down at the ground. Some people were outside and saw him.

One of them got up the nerve to talk to him.

"HEY YOU, WATCHA DOING UP THERE?" It was Honda the hall monitor.

"I'M GONNA JUMP!" Yuugi shouted back, in no time the whole school was outside watching

like it was a movie. Yami saw him and instantly ran up to the roof as fast as he could.

The police were already up there trying to convince him not to jump.

"Come on kid you don't really wanta jump, come over to us and we'll help you." The cop

tried to convince him. Yami arrived on the roof and ran to the officeres side.

"No one should be up here." The cop scolded Yami.

"Yuugi, come here, everything is gonna be ok." Yami opened his arms for him. Yuugi

backed toward the ledge. "Please." Yami pleaded but Yuugi just took another step.

"I'm sorry I hurt you, I didn't mean those awful things I said." Yuugi shook his head and took

another step. "I never wanted to leave you, I just didn't want you to get in anymore

trouble, if they saw you with me, she would of beat you." Yuugi stood still. He was somewhat

understanding why Yami shunned him. "I'm sorry, I should of just...just....Just get away from the

legde Yuugi!" He pleaded. Yuugi looked at him with teared eyes full of hurt, quivering bottom lip,

and shaking arms reaching out for him. Yami dashed over to him and embraced him. "I'm sorry,

I'm sorry, I never meant for this to happen, If anything happened to you, I would follow you into

the next world."

"Y-Yami....Let me come back..." Yuugi wimpered.

"Yes but these men are going to take you to the hospital now, you need help....I should be talking to

myself."

"No matter who stands in your way, no matter how tough the obstacles....Promise to stay with me, I need

you, I'd be dead if it weren't for you! You helped me more than anyone has.

"I'll never let you go ever agian Yuugi!" Yami cried as the cops pulled Yuugi away from him. The cop put

his hand on Yami's shoulder.

"You saved a life kid we ow you."

"I started the fight at the dance." Yami confessed.

"That took guts, but your a good kid, I'm gonna see to it that you get a second chance in society."

"What does that mean?" yami asked.

"No more Juevy, until your next crime anyway.

"I gotta go with my friend, he was right he does need me." Yami followed them down to an assylum

truck.
