Behind Blue Eyes
Disclaimer: Yu-Gi-Oh! And all the characters herein belong to whomever and I am making no monies whatsoever. The plotline belongs to me and me alone, and all the original characters (meaning those you have never seen before) belong to me.
Author’s Note: This is purely fiction. I hated the way they ended the series and if the series had been mine it would have been chocked full of slashy goodness. Set after Dawn of the Duel with a slightly different ending, cause the original made me cry. All respective songs herein belong to their original artists and I do not own them. For the record, this is NOT, I repeat, NOT a song fic; the songs used are to create depth for the plot and to ascertain how the characters are feeling.
Jounouchi for the sake of my story is a baritone - The Baritone is the most common type of male voice. Baritone range: The vocal range of the baritone lies between the bass and tenor ranges, overlapping both of them. The typical baritone range is from the second F below middle C (F2) to the F above middle C (F4), which are exactly two octaves. In the lower and upper extremes, a baritone's range can be extended at either end.

Summary – Senior Year of High School, it was supposed to be the best time of their young lives, but for one of the group, its not. But what lies around the corner at a place of Intoxication, well, suffice it to say Jounouchi finds what he wants behind blue eyes.
Intoxication
By TheDarkSynfulLegend
Author’s Note: Yes, I know I normally put these at the end of the chapters, but this is the LAST chapter. For lots of reasons, I wanted this ending to be romantic and sweet, and it suited the storyline. See you in the Wizarding World… ~grouses~ yes, Severus, I’m writing yours next…good god, Potions Masters.
Chapter Nine – Behind Blue Eyes
Jounouchi slowly got dressed with some help from Yuugi and Honda who had come in to see him. “So, you’re getting out of here today.” Yuugi piped up happily, he had missed his friend, and seeing him in the hospital, covered in bandages and with tubes had made him unhappy. Honda was outside waiting, as Yuugi asked his best friend another question, “Jou, can I ask you something?”
“Sure, Yuuge.” Jounouchi replied as he put his shirt on and buttoned it. He knew that Seto had brought him the clothes but wasn’t sure where they had come from otherwise, for they weren’t originally his.
Yuugi smiled, as he bounced on his toes, “how do you feel about Seto?”
“Is it that obvious?”
“Only to someone who knows you as well as I do.” Came the reply as Jounouchi sat down on the edge of the bed to pull on his sneakers. “Jou, does he make you happy?”
“I don’t know to be honest Yuuge, I haven’t spent that much time with him.” He responded, only to sigh heavily, “plus, I don’t even know how he feels about me.”
“You know, he’s going to be at this thing at Intoxication tonight.”
“What thing at Intoxication tonight?”
“Um, never mind.” Yuugi muttered, as he turned away blushing furiously.
Jounouchi moved over to Yuugi and took his friend’s hand in his own. “No, what’s going on Yuuge?”
“I wasn’t supposed to tell.”
“Okay, you didn’t, I know something is going on but not what, so I’ll leave it alone.” He said, grabbing his bag, “let’s get out of here.”

They left the hospital, Jounouchi having paused at the desk to settle his bill only to discover it had been paid in full, when he asked who paid it, and he found out who it was, he blinked a bit and then sighed heading out the door where Seto had a limo waiting. Mokuba climbed out and squeaked as he ran over to Jounouchi hugging him tightly, “you’re okay!”
“Hey Mokuba, oxygen would be nice.” He quipped, ruffling Mokuba’s black locks and earning a sheepish smile. “you doing okay?”
“Yeah. You excited?”
“About what I’m not supposed to know about, but kind of do know about, yup.”
“Get in, we’re going to be late.” Mokuba said as he gave Jounouchi a gentle shove towards the limo. The blond went willingly along with Yuugi and Honda who piled in.
“So, we’re going to Intoxication?”
“Yes.”
As the limo left the hospital, and headed towards Downtown Domino, the phone to the limo rang and Mokuba picked it up. “Hey, did you get Jounouchi out of the hospital okay?” Draco’s voice intoned over the speakerphone.
“Yeah, I’m here, Draco.”
“How are you feeling?”
“Better. Much better, now that I’m not eating that nasty hospital food.”
“Well, wait till you get here. Plenty of food for your bottomless stomach;” Draco said, as he could hear Arista in the background. “Sorry, now she says I can’t have any.”
Jounouchi laughed, “I’ll save you some.”
“How soon until you guys get here?”
“Five minutes.” Mokuba said as he glanced out the window.
“See you shortly.” Draco replied before hanging up, turning, he smiled, “are you ready?”
“As I’ll ever be.”

The club was dark as Yuugi led Jounouchi inside, he was greeted by both Arista and Draco with warm hugs. As he glanced around, he could see people in the shadows and his thoughts wandered to wonder who else was there. A single candle was illuminated at a table and the flickers illuminated others, Atemu, Bakura, Ryou, Mokuba, the twins and the other wait staff of the club. They were all there and Jounouchi felt his eyes watering. He was ushered into a seat and several plates of food were put before him, “where’s Seto?” Jounouchi inquired as they shushed him, and rolling his eyes, he sat quietly. “I just wanted to know.”
The soft strains of a guitar being played began to fill the club with its melody and a voice that Jounouchi had never heard like this started to sing, “no one knows what its like to be the bad man…to be the sad man, behind blue eyes. No one knows what its like to be hated, to be fated, to telling only lies.”
Seto…is…no…it can’t be… Jounouchi thought to himself as the spotlight slowly illuminated the stage where Seto Kaiba sat on a lone stool, the guitar in his lap as he strummed it idly.
“But my dreams, they aren’t as empty as my conscience seems to be. I have hours, only lonely, my love is vengeance that’s never free.” Seto looked up and his sapphire gaze locked with Jounouchi’s, “no one knows what its like, to feel these feelings…like I do…and I blame you. No one bites back as hard on their anger, none of my pain and woe can show through.”
Jounouchi sighed as he knew that the words were meant for him, and he watched Seto as his elegant fingers played the guitar as though playing his heart. Slowly rising from the chair, he walked over towards Seto with trembling steps and no one moved to stop him, “but my dreams, they aren’t as empty, as my conscience seems to be. I have hours, only lonely. My love is vengeance, that’s never free.” As Seto continued to sing, Jounouchi became more and more lost in the love that he felt for the man.
“When my fist clenches, crack it open. Before I use it and lose my cool.” Seto sang, the intent in his eyes that he would never raise a hand in anger to Jounouchi. “when I smile, tell me some bad news, before I laugh and act like a fool.” He knew that he loved the young blond before him and it showed in the sultry tones he was singing in. “And if I swallow anything evil, put your finger down my throat. And if I shiver, please give me a blanket, keep me warm let me wear your coat.”
At that moment, Jounouchi knew that he would do all that he could for the man he had fallen in love with. And though it had been a very bumpy road, he knew that the way was clear, “no one knows what its like, to be the bad man…to be the sad man…behind blue eyes.” As Seto finished the song, he set the guitar aside, but as he was going to say something, his arms were suddenly filled with the blond god that he had loved for so long. “hi.” He said.
“Hi.” Jounouchi replied before he leaned up and kissed Seto’s lips ever so softly, while the rest of the group smiled and cheered. Breaking the kiss, they stared deep into each others eyes, “I love you, Seto.”
“I love you too, and from now on. You are the only intoxication I will ever need.” Seto replied.

It was a month later when Jounouchi and Kaiba were married on a beach in Hawaii, their only witnesses were the moon, the sea and their friends.
