Alternate Ending 3
A little more then a year later, and Mokuba found himself standing in front of a large gray headstone. Bending low, he placed the pure white lilies on the ground below it. Incense being lit followed, before Mokuba got down on his knees before the stone. With hands clasped, he began to pray, wishing he could see the departed once more. His mind ran through thoughts of, “Maybe if I had done this, or maybe if I had done that,” But no ‘maybe’ would change what had happened.
With one final bow, the ceremony was over. The man stood, eyes stinging ever so slightly before he turned away from the headstone. “I really miss them, Seto…” Mokuba muttered softly as his gaze traveled back to their parents’ graves.
Seto smiled a little bit, sadly, and gave his hand a squeeze. "I miss them too," he admitted. "But we have each other."
"Let's go back home." And they did have each other, and they would always have each other.
And on some level, hadn't they always had each other?
Seto walked back with him to the car. The sun shone brightly on them, and a cool breeze blew through their hair. It was going to be a good day.
