Danegold: The Viking Brother’s Sequel
Chapter 9: As far back as I can remember I always wanted to kill an Oddvar
“Mommy, me don’t feel good.” Said Annar, pulling on Yugi’s tunic bell sleeve. He sat beside him watching the games when he started to get a stomach ache. Yugi picked him up and held him in his lap.
“What do you feel, honey?” Annar placed a chubby hand on his belly.
“Me tummy hurts…” He whined as tears started to well up in his eyes and his bottom lip quivered. Yugi felt his forehead and cheeks with the back of his hand.
“Oh no, you have a fever!” The others looked over at that.
“Annar doesn’t feel good?” Asked Malik, who was too caught up in the fights to have heard Annar complain. Yugi nodded and stood up with Annar in his arms. Annar buried his head in Yugi’s neck and sniffled, clutching the fabric of his tunic tightly.
“I’m going to bring him back to the tent and stay with him.” Keith stood up after.
“I’ll walk you back.” Yugi nodded and fixed Annar’s position in his arms.
“Send Tristan here to watch over us so you don’t get in trouble.” Said Jou. “That way, we have a bodyguard and you can stay with Yugi.”
“Alright, just remain here where Tristan can find you.” Keith told them and escorted Yugi and Annar back to their tent.
Tristan was sent to watch the others while Keith stayed outside the tent, waiting for Seto to come back from wherever he was. Yugi fixed Annar’s blankets in his basket bed and gently laid him on the white fabrics. Annar whimpered and shivered a little when he felt Yugi’s arms leave him. He reached his chubby arms up and whimpered again. Yugi pulled the blankets up over him and took his son’s little hands in his.
“I’m not going anywhere, Annar. Mommy’s here.”
“Me tummy still hurts real bad!” Yugi stroked the boy’s slightly sweaty bangs out of his face.
“Unkie Seto will be coming to see you soon and I’m sure he has some medicine to make you better. You’re just going to have to be patient.” Annar bit his lip and started to cry.
“Make it go away, mommy!” he pleaded to Yugi which made his heart sink to see his son in pain.
“If I could Annar, I would. But you have to be brave like daddy. Daddy wouldn’t be crying if his belly hurt, right?” Maybe talking about Yami will make Annar stop crying, since his father is his role model. Annar nodded and brought his fingers into his mouth. Usually Yugi would scold him for that, but he wanted Annar to feel as comfortable as possible.
“I’m here, Yugi.” Yugi turned around at the sound of Seto’s voice as he entered the tent.
“Oh thank God you’re here! He’s burning up with a fever!”
“Calm down, Yugi. I have some medicine that will bring down the fever and make him sleep.” Seto smiled down at Annar who shyly waved to him with his free hand, the others still in his mouth. “So we have a tummy ache I hear?” Annar gurgled and nodded. “Well, Unkie Seto has some medicine for you that will make your tummy feel better.”
“Me don’t want it. Taste icky!” Seto chuckled and uncorked the small vile.
“Well, it does taste icky, but if you want your tummy ache to go away, then you’ll have to drink it.” Seto gently placed his hand under Annar’s head and lift him up to put the vile to his mouth. He made sure Annar had drunk it all before setting him back down on the bed. Annar coughed and crinkled his nose at the taste.
“Bleh!” He said, sticking his tongue out to the side. Yugi and Seto both laughed at the face Annar made.
“Can you say “thank you” to Unkie Seto?” Annar looked at Seto.
“Thank you Unkie Seto.” He said in a whiny little voice then yawned. “Me tummy still hurts.” Seto stroked the boy’s bangs.
“If you’re good for you parents and take a nice, long nap, your belly will feel all better.”
“Okay Unkie Seto. Goodnight mommy.” Annar rolled over and cuddled into the soft fabrics of his bed stuffing. Yugi gently pulled the blanket up over the boy’s shoulder.
“Sleep well, Annar.” And he kissed his cheek. Annar was alright asleep and snoring lightly. “Wow, what’s in that stuff, Seto? He’s out.”
“It’s just some fever medicine with sleeping herbs. It’s better for him if he just sleeps. Who’s with the others if Keith is here with you?”
“Tristan is. He was able to get away from the stables today.”
“Okay, good. I have to get back to work now, so just keep an eye on him.”
“Alright Seto, and thanks.”
“No problem. Oh, King Olaf is holding a celebration tonight and Yami has been invited as his guest of honor.” Yugi looked down at Annar and stroked his soft cheek.
“I’ll stay here with Annar. I want him to get better right away. Besides, he doesn’t belong at these celebrations. There are too many drunks running around.” Seto laughed.
“Well yes, that is true. Marik is going to take Malik and Ryou too if Bakura won’t. Jou is coming with me and Tristan is dragging Duke. Are you sure you don’t want to come?”
“I’m sure. I’ll feel much better staying home and taking care of Annar. And I’ll have Keith outside, so Yami doesn’t have to worry about us being alone.” Seto threw his sack over his shoulder.
“I think Yami would feel better if you and Annar were with him.” Yugi took another blanket from Annar’s trunk and covered him with it.
“Well, Annar is ill and I’d rather have him safe in our tent. Yami will understand.” Seto just sighed.
“Alright, I’ll tell him then. Annar should be fine by tomorrow, but if not, just bring him to me and I’ll give him something stronger, okay?”
“Right. I’ll talk to you later, then.” Seto nodded and left the tent, stopping to talk to Keith who was sitting on a chair with his feet up on a stool.
“You look comfortable.” He sat with his arms crossed.
“How’s Annar?”
“He has a slight fever, but nothing to be worried about. He probably ate or drank something that didn’t agree with him.” Keith nodded.
“That’s good. Now what’s this I hear about a celebration?”
“The King is having one tonight at moonrise, but Yugi wants to stay here with Annar, which means you do too. I bet you would like to get a break.” Keith scoffed.
“Of course I would, but this is my job and responsibility. Besides, even if I DID get time off, something would happen and I would be blamed for it, or I would feel that it was my fault. And I want to stay on everyone’s good side.” Seto laughed.
“You have a point. Well, happy guarding.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Parallel from Yugi’s tent stood Sveyn, hiding behind one of the tents. He had been watching Yugi all morning and found one problem. Yugi was constantly being guarded by Keith. There was no way he could carry out his plan with Keith sitting outside the damn tent! He needed to do something with Keith first before he could get to Yugi. He wished Keith had decided to go to the celebration. Most, if not all, would be attending. Everything would have worked out if Keith wasn’t so damn devoted to guarding Yugi!
What could he do to get Keith out of the picture? He needed to have Yugi alone. Annar didn’t worry him in the least. He knew about Seto’s sleeping herbs and how they kept a person out cold for quite awhile. All that was standing in his way was Keith, and he just thought of a way to get rid of him. He could easily get sleeping herbs from Seto’s tent and simply slip them to Keith! But how would he get them to him?
Oh well, he’ll think about that later after he takes some of Seto’s herbs. Everything seemed to be working out, and he smiled to himself.
Later that evening…
“Is this really necessary?” Yami asked Yugi with his hands on his hips. Yugi currently was rocking Annar in his arms, who had just had a nightmare. Annar was still asleep through it all, but his frantic movements had to cease before he hurt himself. Seto had really knocked the boy out.
“Yes it is.” Yugi told him firmly. “Your son is ill and someone has to stay with him.”
“But you two can sit with me and Olaf up on the dais. At least that way I know where you are and I can be there for you.” Yugi placed Annar back in his basket bed when he heard his snores.
“What are you afraid of, Yami? I have Keith with me and everyone will be at the celebration, since there are going to be free drinks.” Yami sighed.
“I know, but with all that has been happening with Bakura, I worry about those Oddvar’s.”
“But they’ll all be at the celebration. They’re a big name family like ours.”
“Why are you being so difficult?”
“I’m not! I just don’t want Annar to catch a chill. Now hurry along to the celebration or you’ll be late.” Yami rolled his eyes. Maybe he was being a bit paranoid. He could trust Keith to watch Yugi, and Yugi wouldn’t leave the tent anyway.
“Alright, just be aware of what is going on, okay? And keep checking on Keith in case he falls asleep.” Yugi nodded and gave Yami a kiss.
“I will, and you make sure to have lots of fun for me.” He said and straitened out Yami’s cape clips.
“Remember what I said.” Yami reminded him as he headed to the flap. Yugi just nodded and waved to his husband as he left. Yami turned to Keith and said “Keep an eye on him. I’m counting on you.”
“Of course. Have a good time.”
Yami hurried to the celebration, fearing he was late for his invitation. He remembered he wanted to get there before Bakura did so he could keep an eye on him. Sitting up on the dais allowed him a better view of the party. When he got there, he already noticed his brothers whereabouts. Bakura was shouting about being cheated out of cards and Marik was flaring his arms and ale mugs around, already drunk. He rolled his eyes and climbed the dais steps to take is seat.
“There you are, Yami! I was wondering where you were.” Said King Olaf from his chair.
“I was talking with Yugi and lost track of time. Are the Oddvar’s here?” Olaf nodded.
“Yeah, they showed up a while ago.”
“All of them?”
“Yes, why? Are you nervous about them?” Yami took his seat.
“I am worried for Bakura. He tends to get excited about these kinds of gatherings and drops his guard. If I’m not here to watch him-“ Olaf suddenly handed him a mug of ale.
“Here, calm your worries and drink. Enjoy the evening. I’m sure everything will be fine.” Yami took the mug and took a long, long gulp.
Yami’s Tent:
Yugi was humming softly to himself as he sewed a new tunic for Annar. The boy was still sleeping soundly in his basket bed, mumbling every now and then. Keith was still outside the tent, staring up at the stars. That was all he could do on guard. He had really wanted to go to the celebration but his duties were more important, as he knew.
“ALE! GET YOUR ALE HERE!” Keith’s ears perked up at that. He stood up and looked through two tents where he saw a guy carrying a tray of ale. He had one held high above his head to advertise. Two servants ran up and took a mug each, without paying? The night was looking up! He waited for the ale man to come down his row rather than leave his post. In a short time, the man came down his way, with only one mug left. “Good sir, would you care for some ale? Free of charge!”
“Why is it free?” Keith asked.
“It’s free at the social gathering and the king sent a few of us out to those who couldn’t attend! We have enough ale to go around!” He handed the mug to Keith. “Here, have one!” Keith took the mug.
“Thanks.” Yugi suddenly popped his head out of the tent flap at the sound of voices.
“Who are you talking to?” He asked Keith.
“Oh, I’m sorry sir! I’m all out of free ale.” Yugi smiled at the man.
“Oh, it’s alright. I really don’t like the stuff. Are you from the gathering?” The man nodded.
“Yup! Just coming around with some free ale! Your friend here is lucky to have gotten the last one.”
“Yes, thank you.” Keith said to the man again.
“Well, let me get back to the celebration and pick up some more. Maybe I’ll be back down your way later?”
“Okay, take care now.” Yugi said politely and waved at the man. Keith just nodded his thanks and gulped down the ale.
A few rows across the camp ground….
“Did he take it?” Asked Sveyn, sitting on an ale barrel and cleaning under his nails with a dagger. The man who was giving away the ale stopped.
“He took the ale, no questions asked. It should start working very soon. Seto’s stuff is quick.” Sveyn took a small sack of gold coins from his belt and tossed it to the man.
“Good job, I trust we take this to the grave with us?” He gave the man a suspicious look.
“Fear not, Lord Oddvar!” He said, counting the gold pieces. “Money is enough to keep me silent. I dislike the Bolverk’s as much as you do.”
“Then we understand each other. Those brothers have caused nothing but pain and despair in my family. We are all hurting terribly by what Bakura did to our sweet little sister. She must be avenged!”
“And I wish you luck with your plan.”
“Thanks again, you may go.” The man walked off with his coins, making his way back to the celebration. Sveyn checked his surroundings before throwing his cloak on. He put his hood up to cover his face and sheathed his dagger. Looking around once more and seeing no one, he sneaked away to Yami’s tent.
Yami’s tent:
Yugi yawned from the bed and laid his sewing to the side. He was so bored without Annar at his hip. Usually they’d be playing with his toys or inventing games. But his little boy was still sound asleep, and he had nothing to do. He sighed and flopped himself down on the fur blankets, rolling onto his belly. He buried his face into the furs and smiled when he smelt Yami. The bed was lonely without him. Yugi closed his eyes and snuggled into the warm fur. Keith was on guard, so he could take a quick nap.
Sveyn smirked as he saw Keith already asleep in the chair, the empty mug lying next to him. It had worked! Sveyn tiptoed up next to Keith to double check if he was sleeping. When he heard the light snoring coming the man he knew he was safe.
Before entering Yami’s tent, Sveyn took one last look around him and peeked inside the tent flap. Their bed was right in view and Yugi had his back facing the flap. Annar was also asleep in his basket. This was going to be easy! He slipped inside the tent silently and closed the flap completely.
Yugi opened an eye when he felt a sudden light breeze hit his back. Was someone here? He asked himself, then dismissed the idea. It was probably just a little night breeze slipping through the tent flap. Keith wouldn’t let anybody in and Yami would have said something by now. He settled back into the furs and sighed deeply. Before he could doze off again, he felt someone, or something, lay up against his back. Was Yami back already?
“Yami?”
“Not quite.” That wasn’t Yami! Before he could scream, a hand clamped over his mouth. He tried to pull it away but the person was much stronger than he was. “An eye for an eye, I always say!”
He knew that voice! It was Sveyn, the one who tried to do something like this to him before! He tried to struggle but Sveyn was overpowering him. He was forced onto his back and Sveyn on top of him. Where was Keith!? Something must have happened to him! The hand was removed from his mouth and he once again tried to scream for help, but he couldn’t. Sveyn’s dagger blade was up against his throat, softly biting into the skin.
“You’d better behave or I’ll slit your skinny little throat, then do the same to your little loaf of bread over there.” Yugi gasped.
“Don’t hurt Annar!” he pleaded
“Behave and I will!” Yugi felt tears well up in his eyes but he nodded. Sveyn saw the tunic Yugi was making and reached over with his free hand to grab a piece of the unused fabric. He bunched it into a ball and shoved it roughly into Yugi’s mouth, gagging him. “Can’t let that little boy of yours wake up, now can we?”
Sveyn ripped off Yugi’s pants and tossed the shredded material to the side. He didn’t feel the need to take off Yugi’s tunic since he was only interested in getting off quick. He spread Yugi’s legs apart and raised them higher for easier access. Yugi was whimpering behind the gag and sobbing uncontrollably. That turned him on even more and he quickly undid his belt buckle, sliding his pants down. He gripped Yugi’s hips and thrust himself forward, passing through the protesting muscles with enough force to make Yugi scream behind his gag. Sveyn groaned as he buried himself inside his enemy’s mate and started thrusting into the tight heat that surround him. Yugi’s muscles were trying to push him out, but that resistance only turned him on more and he increased his thrusts.
Yugi had never felt pain like this before. Sveyn tore into his body with no care and just started pounding him. It felt like his insides were on fire and the stung horribly. His screams for the man to stop were muffled behind the gag and he could do nothing more but claw at Sveyn’s back. As much as he hated to do it, Yugi had to hold on to Sveyn to keep from being pushed back. He didn’t want Sveyn to keep pulling him into his thrusts. Something warm was dripping down between his legs and he knew it had to be blood, since Sveyn hadn’t come yet. The blood made the constant forced entries somewhat easier to handle, but they still ripped through him.
God, when was this going to end? He kept screaming in his mind. Sveyn wasn’t showing any signs of climax and Yugi just wanted to make the pain stop as soon as possible. He was starting to feel sick from the smell of grime and ale as it was all over him. He couldn’t stand this any longer! When was it going to stop!?
“Yami’s not…not going to…to want you now!” Said Sveyn harshly, his hot breath hitting Yugi’s face. He stopped in his thrusting and fisted his hand in Yugi’s hair, turning his head to face him. “He’s not going to want you after he knows another man shot their load up into you! So when he kicks you out, there’s always a bed at my tent!” And the thrusts started up again. Yugi just laid there now and let Sveyn finish what he was doing. There was nothing he could do. He couldn’t fight, he couldn’t scream, he was completely helpless. The only way to keep from hurting his body any more was to just lay still and take it. Finally, he felt Sveyn come inside of him, stinging his torn insides horribly. Yugi cried out behind the gag and fresh tears welled up in his eyes just waiting to be released. Sveyn pulled out of him and stood up, stuffing himself back into his pants and buckling his belt. Yugi could do nothing but just lay there, waiting for the pain to subside so he could move again. Sveyn put on his cloak and put the hood up to cover his face. He turned back to Yugi.
“Don’t tell ANYONE what has happened or I'll get someone to kill those you love!” With that, Sveyn dashed out of the tent, looking both ways before disappearing to the left.
Yugi just laid on the furs, staring up at the ceiling. He couldn’t move his body at all, it was like he was frozen. He couldn’t even move his hands to wipe away his tears. Why did Sveyn do this to him? Did he really hate Yami that much? And where was Keith? Sveyn MUST have done something to him. He managed to turn his head to check on Annar, who was beginning to stir.
“Mommy…?” Annar sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes.
“Annar…” Yugi ignored the stiffness of his body and sat up. He took the fur blanket and covered his lower body. He didn’t want Annar to see the blood that tainted the inside of his thighs. Annar crawled out of the basket and hobbled over to him.
“Why did that man hurt you, mommy?” Annar asked innocently. Yugi’s mouth dropped open.
“What did you see?”
“He was making you cry and bouncing on you. You telling daddy?” Yugi took him into his arms.
“Listen Annar, you can’t tell daddy about this.”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t want him to know that you saw what happened. I’ll have to tell him.”
“Where’s Unkie Keith?
“I don’t know…go peeked outside the tent and see if he’s there.” Annar hurried to the flap and stuck his head out. He saw Keith snoring away on the chair.
“He’s sleeping, mommy.”
“That’s not like him….” Annar ran back to Yugi.
“Daddy will be mad, right?”
“He will be. Now listen to me, Annar, when I tell daddy, I don’t want you to say a word about this.”
“Why not?”
“Just listen to mommy, okay? Please?” Annar nodded.
“Okay mommy. Do we wait daddy now?” Yugi held Annar close.
“Yes, we have to wait for daddy. I hope he comes home soon.”
Yami paused in his eating as he had a sudden funny feeling in his stomach. Something was wrong….he knew it. He saw his brothers were alright, so it must be something else. Maybe he should go check on Yugi and Annar. He quickly grabbed his cloak and threw it on, catching the attention of King Olaf.
“Where are you going in such a hurry?” He asked
“To check on Yugi and my son. I just have this feeling in the pit of my stomach.”
“Alright, I’ll see you later tonight then, hopefully?”
“If everything is alright with Yugi. I’m going to have Seto come with me. Do you know where he is?”
“Last I saw him he was telling stories around the bonfire.” Olaf stood up and looked out towards the fire. “Yup, he’s there alright.”
“Okay, thanks. I might be back.” He ran down the dais steps to grab Seto.
Yami’s tent:
“Why the hell is he asleep!?” Yami said angrily as he saw Keith’s snoring body on the chair. He KNEW something was wrong!
“I’ll check on him, you go and see Yugi.” Said Seto, kneeling down to look Keith over. He also knew something was amiss. Keith wouldn’t just fall asleep at his post like this. Yami had already rushed into the tent.
“Yugi?!” Yugi looked up with his tear stained face and Yami gasped. “What happened?!” He ran to him and fell to his knees. “Is something wrong with Annar?!” Annar was sound asleep in Yugi’s arms, sucking on his thumb.
“No…nothing is wrong with Annar…” Yami tired to remain calm as he could see Yugi was scared. Something horrible must have happened here.
“Then what is it?” Yugi held Annar close to him and started to cry. Yami placed his hands on Yugi’s shoulders. “Yugi, what happened here?! You have to tell me or I can’t help you!”
“I…I was…I was taken advantage of!” He said quickly, turning his face away from Yami. Yami just sat there, staring. Did Yugi just say a sentence that he never wanted to hear? He must have heard wrong…no, there was no mistaking those tightly closed eyelids and trembling body. He watched as Yugi turned his head back to face him with bloodshot eyes.
“Yami?”
“Who Yugi?” He finally asked after a few seconds of silence. He was trying to keep his voice calm and his temper even, not wanting to frighten Yugi more than he already was. “Who did this to you?” Yugi wanted to tell him, but he knew he couldn’t. Sveyn said if he told anybody it was him, he or someone else will come to kill them. He couldn’t let that happen. Whether it was just a scare tactic or not, he didn’t want to take the chance. He had to lie.
“I…I don’t know!” I couldn’t see his face! I couldn’t do a thing to protect myself! He was holding Annar against me! He said he would kill him if I yelled or struggled! I’m so sorry, Yami! I’m so sorry!” Yami was silent again for a few seconds, then spoke.
“You have nothing to be sorry about, Yugi.” Yami drew him into a tight hug, mindful of their son between them. “I only wish I was here to protect you.” Yugi buried his face into Yami’s chest.
“I should have come with you! You were right, Yami! I should have come with you!” Yami just held him as he cried, holding back his own tears as well. If there was one thing Yugi didn’t need, it was to see him cry. He wanted to cry, but he had to be strong for Yugi.
“Are you sure you don’t know who he was? Can you tell me what he looked like?” Yugi shook his head.
“He had a hood covering his face! I couldn’t see what he looked like!” Before Yami could respond to that, Seto hurried into the tent with a mug.
“Yami, Keith’s been drugged!”
“What?!” Yugi pulled away from Yami and held Annar close. “What do you mean he was drugged?!” Seto bent down and showed his some white substance around the rim of the mug.
“See that? That’s my sleeping powder. I can tell by the smell and the texture.”
“Are you sure?” Seto nodded.
“I noticed one of my bottles were missing but I thought on of the family took it. Apparently someone had other plans.” Yami stood up, clenching his fists at his side.
“This was a set up! While Keith was drugged up the rapist came in and took advantage of Yugi!” Seto’s eyes widened.
“Wait, that’s what happened here?” Seto looked to Yugi who nodded and turned his head away, sniffling. “Oh Yugi…”
“I can’t believe this! I don’t fucking believe this! First this shit with Bakura and now someone rapes my little Yugi!”
“Maybe it was the same person who raped Dahlia?” Yami ran a hand through his hair.
“Alright listen, go to the king and inform him of what has happened. Find Duke and make him sniff around the camp for any clues. I’ll stay here with Yugi and Keith.”
“Right.” Yami waited until Seto left before he fell back to his knees in front of Yugi.
“How can I help you, Yugi?” He asked sincerely. “What can I do to make you more comfortable?” Yugi sniffed and turned to face his husband.
“Just hold me, and tell me that you still love me.” Yami brought Yugi and their son into his arms again and held them close. Yugi sighed and rest his head against Yami’s chest. “Yami…do you think I’m dirty?”
“Of course not, Yugi! What makes you think I would think that about you?”
“Because of what happened-“
“No! Yugi, you are not dirty. The person who chose to hurt you is the dirty one. I still love you with all my being so don’t believe for a second that I would disown you after this. You’re mine, and I’m never going to let you go.” Yugi smiled tiredly and nuzzled his face into Yami.
“That’s all I need to hear.”
The next morning, everyone in the Bolverk clan knew what had happened to Yugi. Ryou, Malik, and Jou were all staying with Yugi, fussing over him. Yugi really didn’t like so much attention, but he couldn’t’ turn his friends away when they are trying to help him. Keith had finally come too sometime in the morning and got the gist of what had happened. Keith had explained to Yami and Seto about the ale guy who came around with free ale by order of the king. Seto had noticed that the few other servants that had been around, who had also drank the ale, were not effected. Which means this was planned. Yami told Seto to take Keith’s report to the king and try to clear things up about the free ale. That’s when he felt a slight tugging at his leg.
“Daddy! Daddy!” Yami looked down at Annar pulling on his pant leg.
“What is it, Annar? Daddy is very busy today.” He was in no mood for Annar’s antics.
“Me know who it was that hurt mommy!” Yami’s eyes widened and he knelt down next to Annar, placing his hands on the boy’s shoulders.
“Who Annar?”
“Mommy told me not to tell you but me need to tell you. He doesn’t want you to know me know about it.” Yami picked him up and carried him away from their tent so Yugi couldn’t hear what Annar was going to say. He placed him down behind one of the tents.
“Alright Annar, tell me all about him.”
“Me don’t know his name, but he’s one of those bad men you and my unkie’s don’t like.” Yami sneered.
“One of the Oddvar’s I assume….what did he look like?”
“Had orange hair that stuck up like Unkie Bakura’s pineapples!”
“But mommy said he couldn’t see his face?” Annar shook his head.
“That bad man wasn’t wearing a hood. Me saw him. Mommy doesn’t want anything bad to happen, daddy.” Yami stood up and growled, clenching his fists.
“Go back to your mother and stay there. I’m depending on you and Keith to protect him.”
Annar nodded and quickly followed the order, heading to his tent. He should have know it was Sveyn. He was always the horniest brother of them all. And he would be the one to get revenge like he did. He turned and headed for the horse stables. How DARE that scum touch his Yugi! He soiled Yugi’s body and crushed his gentle spirit! Yugi was his and his alone. He owned Yugi’s heart, body, and mind, being the first, and ONLY man to take him. That’s no longer the case now, much to his dismay. Yugi was still naïve to the ways of lovemaking and the only man he had known in that act was Yami. And Yami had planned keep it that way. Sveyn was going to pay!
Yugi was his pride and joy, one of the few things he held dear. No one could ease his spirits and calm his anger like Yugi could. Yugi just brought light into his life, like mother had done for his father. Whenever his father was angry, his mother had always soothed him into gentleness again. His anger would vanish instantly at her words, looks, or touch. Yugi was like that for him. It’s funny how history repeats itself. His father always thought of his mother as a gift from the gods. She had to be to be able to put up with him. There were many eligible men of gentle nature who Yugi would be more compatible with, but he had chosen Yami over all others. And not just for his wealth and power, but for who he was. Yugi was a prize for any man, or woman for that matter. His love had to be avenged.
When he arrived at the horse stables, he saw Tristan and a few other men handling the horses. Tristan had Avaldamon in his care and was brushing his mane. Yami noticed that the horse already has a saddle, plus a sword, hammer, and axe hanging off the side. Marik must be planning on another horse fight or going hunting. He heard that there was going to be a hunting party this morning and heard Mikkel over talking about it. Both him and Sveyn were going to join the hunting party, but that wouldn’t stop him.
“Tristan!” Tristan looked up from his brushing as Yami came over to him with a purpose.
“Can I help you, Yami?” He asked politely.
“How long ago did the hunting party leave?”
“A few minutes ago.” He went back to his brushing “You just missed them.”
“Only a few minutes? Good! I can catch up! Tristan, I need to borrow Avaldamon!” Tristan raised an eyebrow at him.
“You can’t borrow Avaldamon! He doesn’t let anyone ride him but Marik! And Yugi on occasion.” Yami ignored him and moved in front of Avaldamon, staring the horse in the face. Avaldamon snorted at him and stomped his foot. Yami narrowed his eyes at the animal and gripped the face reigns.
“I will ride you, and you will NOT-“ He yanked the reigns “I repeat, will NOT give me any trouble!” he shook the horses head again. “Understand!” Avaldamon neighed and pulled his face out of Yami’s grip, backing up angrily. He nearly backed into Tristan, who moved out of the way in time. Avaldamon became still as Yami grabbed hold of his reigns. They looked at each other again for a few seconds before Yami walked around and jumped onto his saddle. Tristan waited for Yami to fall as Avaldamon would quickly rear. But nothing happened. Tristan’s jaw dropped as Avaldamon was standing perfectly still with someone other than Marik on his back.
“Where do you think you’re taking him?” Asked Tristan “Did you talk to Marik?”
“Just tell him I had something VERY important to do and I need Avaldamon for speed. If he has any problems, he can come and talk to me about them later! Understand?”
“Yes, but where are you going? Do you need backup?” Yami shook his head.
“No, I’m fine by myself. It’s nothing to worry about.” Tristan just gave him a worried look, but didn’t ask anymore questions.
“Well, take care.”
“I will.”
Yami took off from the camp in a flash and headed into the woods where the hunting party would be. He was going the right way according to the many hoof prints in the soft soil. They shouldn’t be to far up from where he was. Sure enough, he heard the faint shouts of men and the distant beating of horse hooves. Avaldamon sped up on Yami’s harsh kicking and he could see the party far ahead. The couldn’t let them know he was following, so he had to stay far behind. The men would spilt up soon and if he knew Sveyn well enough, he’d break off by himself.
After a couple of hours, the men finally spilt up at a herd of scattering deer, or large animals that resembled deer. He saw Sveyn and Mikkel take off after one and he turned Avaldamon to follow them. Once again he stayed far behind the pair, keeping a keen eye on them. When they suddenly stopped, to what seemed like arguing, Yami had to make a detour to hide amoungst the trees. He made Avaldamon walk close to the two to keep them in sight as the trees hid their stalking forms. Now he could hear the two brothers arguing.
“You let the damn thing get away!” Mikkel hollered at his brother.
“You were to slow! We were suppose to cut it off! Team work, remember?!”
“I was slow?! I was WAY ahead of you! You were falling far behind me!”
“I was not!”
“Was too!”
“Was not!”
“Was too!” ‘This sounds familiar’ Yami said to himself and rolled his eyes.
“Don’t start with me!” Warned Sveyn, pointing a finger at his older brother.
“What?! I started with YOU?! And get that fucking finger out of my face before I cut it off!”
“I didn’t start with you! You started with me!”
“Fine! If we’re going to do nothing but argue, then you can go hunting on your own!” Sveyn humphed.
“Fine! I can do better than you anyway!”
“I bet I can get more animals than you!” Mikkel challenged.
“You’re on!” Mikkel turned his horse and trotted off, leaving his brother alone. Yami grinned as he watched Mikkel ride away. ‘This is all too easy!’ Yami said to himself. Now that Sveyn was hunting on his own, Yami could deal with him. And since he had Avaldamon with him, Sveyn’s horse wouldn’t be able to outrun him. Yami leaned over to whisper to Avaldamon like Marik often does.
“See that man over there?” Avaldamon snorted. “That is who we are hunting. Got it?” The horse stomped his hoof and bobbed his head. “Good, lets follow him.”
Sveyn glared at his brother’s back as he road off, leaving him. Well, he didn’t need Mikkel anyway. He could hunt the animals by himself. He looked around for any animal he could spot in range, but saw nothing. So he took his horse and trotted off further into the woods.
After a time of riding and no animals, Sveyn started to get the eerie feeling he was being watched. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something move behind the trees. He jerked his head to see what if was, and saw nothing but trees and green. The forest was quiet too. He hadn’t heard nor seen one single animal since he started off by himself. He raised an eyebrow and looked around. He could have sworn he saw something. His horse suddenly neighed and backed up a bit, nearly tossing Sveyn from his back. That’s when Sveyn knew someone, or something, was watching him.
“Who are you?!” Sveyn called to the trees. “Come out and show yourself!” No one came forth from the trees, but he did see something moving around. Maybe it was an animal? Whatever it was, it was big. Well, he wouldn’t find out by just hanging here. It might be an animal by the size of it. If he managed to kill that thing, he would REALLY show his brother up! He pulled out his bow and kicked his horse to go forward.
Sveyn looked around the tree, but still he didn’t see a thing. Where could it have gone in such a short time? He jerked his head up to the treetops, looking for the beast. But again, he saw nothing. Maybe it was a ghost?! That’s when he started to get scared. He put his bow away and turned his horse, then heard another sound. It was the sound of sticks and leaves crackling under weight. He reached for his bow again, but the sounds had stopped. Now he KNEW it was an evil spirit!
“Lets go, boy!” He said to his horse but before they could take off, the sounds came again. Sveyn jerked his head around and his eyes widened when he saw what it was, or rather, WHO it was. Yami and Avaldamon stood a few feet away from him, looking everything but happy. Had Yami figured out it was him?! So soon?! Sveyn gulped and cowered a bit on his saddle. Yami looked like Odin riding on Sleipner and the image was enough to chill him to the bones. He watched as Yami pulled out an axe from the saddle loop and twirl it around his fingers. That was all he could take, and Sveyn kicked his horse into a full run. Avaldamon reared and neighed loudly, the sound echoing through the woods.
Sveyn’s horse was just not fast enough for Avaldamon and the horse made quick work of it. Avaldamon was already riding up on it’s tail. The two moved around to the other side of Sveyn and Avaldamon rammed his side into the other horse. The horse whinnied loudly and fell to the ground. Sveyn rolled away quickly before the horse could trample him and watched in pure terror as it ran off. He decided to do the same and scrambled to get up on his feet. Yami watched him run a ways ahead before he took off after him. It would be so easy for him to just behead the bastard with his axe, but that wouldn’t be justice. Sveyn deserved to suffer for his crime.
Yami chased him down in record time and with the handle of the axe, knocking Sveyn in the back of his head. Sveyn toppled to the ground with a thud, spitting up a bit of blood. He couldn’t register what had just happened and writhed on the ground, trying to get his bearings. When a large, gray hoof slammed down inches in front of his face, he guessed what had happened. He rolled over onto his back and stared up at Yami, who was still riding Avaldamon. He watched as Yami slid off the saddle and slipped the axe into it’s holder. Then he advanced on him. Sveyn tried to get away by crawling on his belly but Yami’s hand fisted in his tunic and turned him onto his back. That same fist met his face a second later.
Yami couldn’t stop punching the bastard’s face. He wanted to completely disfigure the man in every way possible. Yami ignored the blood that splattered onto his face as he let his rage and hatred take away all rational thought. He didn’t want Sveyn’s punishment to end there. He wanted to make him suffer, and suffer he would. Luckily, Marik likes to carry around a variety of weapons
Luckily, Marik likes to carry around a variety of weapons with him. He stalked over to Avaldamon and took out a hammer, giving it a practice swing before heading back over to his victim. Sveyn was too disoriented to move and all he could do was just writhe in pain on the ground. When he saw Yami gripping the hammer, he threw his hands up in defense.
“Oh please, please don’t! I…I…I’m sorry! I’m sorry for what I did! Please! Please don’t hurt me anymore! I’m begging you!” Yami just laughed and twirled his hammer.
“You’re in too deep now, scum! You went where no man, other than myself, is allowed to go! You had the audacity to take your pleasure with my mate! In my book, that is a crime.”
“Just wait until my brother hears about this! You can torture me all you want, but once he hears about this, he’ll kill you!” Yami threw his head back and laughed, “accidentally” dropping the hammer on Sveyn’s abdomen. Sveyn let out a gasp as he spat up some blood.
“Remember when I said that what you did was a crime in my book? Well, it’s a crime punishable by death, so you won’t be telling your brother anything.” Sveyn coughed and gasped.
“You…you can’t! Please! I’ll do anything! Anything! Please, please don’t kill me!” Yami bent down and picked up the hammer from its place on Sveyn’s stomach. Yami lightly pounded the hammer on his palm, looking down his nose at Sveyn.
“Then you should think before you act!” And with that said, Yami brought the stone hammer down onto Sveyn’s already aching abdomen. Sveyn let out a cry of pure pain as he rolled over onto his side. Yami raised the hammer again and brought it down onto his side this time. He heard the sounds of bones cracking and smirked, knowing he must have struck his ribs. Sveyn’s cries of pain were music to his ears as he brought the hammer down again and again.
When he had had enough of the hammer, he dropped it to the ground and kicked Sveyn in the gut, watching as the blood spat from his mouth and onto the dirt. He kicked him over a few more times before he placed his boot on the bleeding man’s throat. Sveyn coughed and sputtered, unable to move Yami’s boot of his neck. Yami grinned evilly down at him and pressed his boot harder. He didn’t want Sveyn to die yet, so he took his foot away and walked back over to Avaldamon, stopping to pick up the hammer.
“Lets see…what should I use next?”
He looked the sword over, but then put it back. The axe seemed much more fit for this job anyway. Yami figured it was best if he gagged Sveyn so his screams wouldn’t echo through the woods. He took a sash from the horse’s saddlebag and went back over to Sveyn. Sveyn was too wrapped up in his pain to notice Yami’s current weapon of torture. Yami knelt down and stuffed the sash into Sveyn’s bleeding mouth, practically making him choke on it. Sveyn’s words were muffled by the sash, but his eyes expressed them for him.
“What should I hack off first?” Yami said in a mocking tone, tapping his finger against his cheek. “It wouldn’t be any fun if I beheaded you now, so I’ll save that for the end.” He looked over Sveyn’s battered and bleeding body, putting on a sad expression. “Aw, look at yourself. Those arms are swollen and covered with bruises. I think we have to amputate.” Sveyn muffled his screams again as tears started to leak from his eyes. Yami ignored them and raised the axe high about his head, then bringing it down in one swoop. The blade cut clean through the bone of Sveyn’s left hand, separating it from his arm. Sveyn screamed behind the gagged and tossed his head, unable to do much else. Yami didn’t want to cut off his whole arm at first, so he decided to start with the hands and work his way up. He kicked the severed hand away from the body then raised the axe again, taking off his right hand. He watched with a twisted smirk as Sveyn rolled and writhed on the ground. This was what he deserved and nothing more.
“I know why you did this, Oddvar. You may like to mock my age, but I’m not stupid! You’re angry because you believe Bakura raped your baby sister, and to get your revenge, you’d do the same to Yugi. You know we all like Yugi, so you wanted to hurt us by hurting him. My little Yugi is one of the most important people in my life now, and you had to hurt his gentle spirit. All because of a little lie your brat sister told. Well, most of your punishment has to do with what you did to my wife, but a part of it has to do with my little brother. This is for putting him through unnecessary stress!” He brought the axe down and hacked off Sveyn’s right arm, then did the same to the left one. “And this is for sticking your dick where it doesn’t belong!” He took off the left leg next and kicked it away to join the first severed limb. “Should I take off the last one?” Sveyn was too far gone in excruciating pain to respond to Yami’s question. “That a “yes”?” Yami raised the axe again and hacked off the last limb, leaving Sveyn’s body a bleeding torso.
Yami didn’t want the torture to end yet. Maybe he should have ended it a while ago, but he enjoyed watching Sveyn suffer. He enjoyed hearing his muffled screams. He enjoyed watching his blood stain the ground. He enjoyed the whole thing. Yami felt as if all his troubles were relaxed for a bit, and he liked it. If Sveyn’s suffering could postpone his worries, then he wanted to keep it going. A few hours of bliss were more than enough for him. So he decided to take a break and rest for a bit.
He plopped down on the ground next to Avaldamon, letting out a sigh. He drug his hand down his face, wiping away some of the blood. When he saw the blood on his hand, he looked down at his clothes, which were splattered in blood. Cleaning his face and hands wasn’t a problem, but his clothes were a whole other matter. He couldn’t go back to the camp covered in blood. People would know something had happened, so he had to cover it up. Killing an animal would pass for an explanation of the blood, but he didn’t have a bow. Hunting with a sword or axe would take time and he couldn’t leave Sveyn alone. There was still a chance that Mikkel or even the hunting party would come back looking for him. He might as well finish him off. His few minutes of bliss were good while they lasted. He took up the axe again and walked over to Sveyn’s squirming body, swinging the axe in the air for practice.
“Hey, look at me, you fucking bastard!” Sveyn didn’t respond and Yami had the feeling he might have died already. But the man’s eyes fluttered open and gazed up at him. “It’s time to leave this world, Sveyn Oddvar.” The sounds of footfalls and growls filled the area and Yami looked around the trees. A pack of wolves must have smelled the blood and followed it here. Yami was never happier to see a pack of wolves as he was now.
“Looks like we have some guests. Don’t worry, I’m not going to let them have the pleasure of killing you. They can have whatever is left over.” Sveyn just muffled something. “I have to make this quick. Those wolves look hungry.” Yami laughed. “Now no one will ever find you.” Yami watched himself in the black of Sveyn’s eyes as he raised the axe high over his head and then brought it down. That was the end of Sveyn Oddvar. The eyes were still open, but Yami wasn’t about to close them for the bastard. He got what he deserved. “He’s all yours!” Yami said to the wolves as he mounted Avaldamon. The wolves advanced on the severed body and Yami kicked the horse into a run. Now he had gotten his revenge. No one will ever know what had happened to Sveyn Oddvar.
