Love in the Fast Lane

Love in the Fast Lane

*Also, I don’t own “The Demon's Whip” by Manowar (but damn! I can really see Bakura getting
into
that band!)

Yugi exploded with anger, something that didn’t happen very often. Yami reached out to
comfort him, but Yugi jerked away. Yugi looked at the Millennium puzzle next to his bed and
glared.

“I didn’t want to break up with Joey, and you made me! I’ll never forgive you Yami!”

Yugi’s voice cracked as tears slid down his face. Before Yami could say another word, Yugi
threw off his covers and stormed out of his bedroom. The pain of losing Joey was getting the
best of him. He couldn’t sleep with all the memories running through his head.

“I love him.........I need him” Yugi cried as he pulled on a pair of jeans. “I have to find Joey.”

Without taking his Millennium Puzzle with him, Yugi left the game shop and took to the dark
streets in search of his former lover.

Bakura was furious with Marik for leaving him in the alley. He ran out into the street
yelling his name.

“MARIK!”

Bakura looked around, but Marik had vanished from sight. Knowing it was senseless to go look
for him, Bakura started walking in the opposite direction. He knew Marik would show up again
eventually; his libido was far greater than his ego. Bakura knew Marik better than anybody else.
Marik needed to feel like he was running the show. He needed to dominate, and hostile sex was
the best way to get people to submit to him. Under the control of his Millennium Rod, many
victims had no choice but to satisfy Marik’s demands for sex. After Yami won his Millennium
Rod in a fixed duel, Bakura was the only one left that was willing to satisfy Marik’s cravings.
Marik’s sexual tactics were far too intense for any “normal person.”

Bakura strolled along the city streets aimlessly. He had nowhere to be, nobody to go
home to, nothing, just himself. It was unusually quiet this night; not many cars, and very few
people out and about. Not a single one of them was worth his time, so Bakura continued
walking.

“I could really go for a pizza” Joey sighed as he buttoned up his pants.

“But Joey-we just had dinner” Seto grinned as he adjusted his shirt collar.

Joey leaned over to tie his shoelace.

“I know, but sex always makes me hungry.”

Seto chuckled and picked up the phone.

“I’ll order you one, what toppings do you want?”

Joey shook his head.

“You don’t have to do that Kaiba, I can’t afford to pay for a pizza. If I don’t find a job soon, I’ll
be living on skid row by next month.”

Seto grabbed a phonebook out of a drawer and flipped through the pages.

“Pepperoni sound okay?” he ask as he began to dial.

Joey cocked his head.

“Uh, Kaiba? Didn’t you hear me? I ain’t got no money.”

Seto paused and looked at Joey thoughtfully.

“My treat Wheeler.”

Joey bit his lip. He couldn’t believe Seto was actually offering to buy him something to eat. Yugi
never did that. Infact, Yugi always made him pay, even after he’d lost his job.

“Thank you Kaiba. I appreciate this.”

Seto smiled as he finished dialing the number.

Joey stood back admiring the generous CEO.

**Joey’s POV**

Sex.

It’s finally sinking in- I just had sex with Seto Kaiba.

This all seems like a weird dream. Kaiba never let on that he wanted me, much less wanted to
sleep with me. I’ve always assumed he just hated me. But now- I don’t know what to think. Yugi
breaks up with me and POOF! A few days later I’m in bed with the most powerful guy in town!
Me; Joey Wheeler, a street kid with nothing to offer, not even a dime. I’m nothing but street
trash! Kaiba is way above me. He’s rich, powerful, and damn good looking!

How’d I get so lucky? I never imagined this could happen.

**End Joey’s POV**

Seto set down the phone and sighed.

“The guy at the pizza place said the delivery boy is home sick tonight. If we want a pizza we
need to pick it up.”

Joey shrugged his shoulders.

“That’s fine with me.”Sep>Seto smiled at Joey and brought him into a kiss.

“We’ll take my Ferrari”

An impish grin spread across Joey’s face.

“You got a Ferrari? Holy shit!”

Seto tapped Joey’s nose with his finger playfully and laughed.

“Come on Joey, let’s go. The guy said 20 minutes, and the place I called is across town”

“Cool” Joey smiled as he followed Seto out into the elevator.

*************************************************************

Yugi knocked on Joey’s door frantically.

“Come on Joey, answer the door! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean the things I said to you. I love you
Joey, please-“

“Keep it down out there! People are trying to sleep!” a grizzled old man yelled from across the
hall.

Yugi hung his head.

“Sorry” he replied softly as he turned to leave. He took one last look at Joey’s apartment door,
hoping the blond would suddenly appear.

He slowly backed away, biting his bottom lip to stop himself from crying like a fool.

Yugi walked down the dingy stairwell and back out into the streets. He walked past the arcade
where he and Joey used to spend countless hours dumping quarters into machines and enjoying
each others company.

“What have I done?” he whimpered to himself as he turned away from the arcade and continued
walking.

He passed the restaurant where he and Joey used to go for breakfast every morning. Yugi
remembered how Joey always paid for his meals. He’d use his last dollar to make Yugi happy,
even if it meant giving up food himself.

Yugi swallowed back the lump growing in his throat as he passed the tavern where Joey had
worked. The smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke crept out of the cracks of the closed tavern
door. One of the local drunks staggered out of the door carrying a bottle of beer and laughed at
Yugi.

“Isn’t it past your bed time boy? You better run along, I think I hear your mommy calling!”

Yugi ignored the ramblings of the drunk and continued walking. He felt so alone without Joey by
his side. Joey didn’t deserve what he had done to him. He continued walking until he reached a
novelty store called “Yesterdays,” where they sold plaques with inspirational sayings and
expensive antiques. He saw a plaque in the window display that read, “The most beautiful things
in the world cannot be touched; they must be felt with the heart.”

Yugi pressed his forehead against the cold glass and began crying again after reading it.

**********************************************************************

Bakura kicked a soda can across the street as he stalked tgh tgh the night. The streets
were so quiet that the sound of the aluminum hitting the pavement echoed out loudly. The quiet
was getting to him. Bakura hated when it was so quiet. Quiet always was a sign of something big
building up. He needed to break the silence. The only thing he could think of to accomplish this
was by singing. He didn’t have a great voice, but who the hell would care? The streets were
empty. Bakura cleared his throat and attempted to carry a tune in his best “growly death metal”
voice.

Armies of the Gods of Hell ride across the astral plane-

Bearing curses of destruction, sworn beyond the grave-

Children of the darkness, all born but to deceive-

By the ancient code of evil grant not one reprieve.......”(*)

Bakura heard the sounds of somebody crying, so he cut his song short and quickly slipped
behind a tall lilac bush. He peeked around to see who was crying.

He spotted little Yugi standing in front of a store with his forehead pressed against the glass.

“Yugi” he laughed maliciously to himself.

Bakura watched Yugi intently, contemplating what he wanted to do. Kicking Yugi’s ass was of
course his first thought, but seeing Yugi crying made his curious. Was this over his break up
with Joey?

Bakura laughed evilly from behind the bush. He remembered the “special moment” Yugi had
shared with Ryou at the game shop. He knew full well Yugi was on the rebound, making him a
perfect victim.

He knew exactly what he was going to do for a little entertainment. He receded back into his the
Millennium Ring, allowing Ryou to have his body back. Bakura silently watched on without
Ryou even knowing he was there.

Ryou looked around totally confused. The last thing he remembered was.........nothing!
He couldn’t remember a Ra-damned thing!

“What the fu-where am I? How’d I get here? Yugi?”

Ryou instinctively ran across the street to comfort his friend.

Yugi looked up and couldn’t believe Ryou came out of nowhere.

“Ryou?”

“Yugi?”

Both of them stared at each other not sure what exactly to say.

“Want to talk about it?” Ryou ask compassionately after their brief pause..

Yugi took a deep breath and wiped his eyes.

“Yeah, I think I need to.”

Ryou smiled warmly and put his arm around Yugi.

"Let’s say we talk over a pizza, I’m starving for some reason”

Yugi nodded his head.

“Sounds good”

***************************************************

Joey started to laugh as Seto squealed the tires of his car just for fun

“Damn Kaiba! I never thought rich kids knew how to do that!”

Seto rolled his eyes as he glanced in his rearview mirror.

“Shit, looks like we have red and blues on our tail.”

Joey quickly buckled his seat belt, expecting Seto to pull over.

“Crap” he muttered.

Seto shrugged his shoul and and stepped on the gas.

“No cop in this town has a car fast enough to beat this one. Hold on tight Wheeler!”

Seto shifted gears and took off like lightning, sending Joey back into his seat.

Joey couldn’t believe his eyes.

“You’re ditching the coppers? Kaiba! I never thought you-“

“Hold on Wheeler, sharp turn”

Joey grabbed the “oh shit” handle above the window of the car and held on for dear life as Seto
showed off his driving skills.

Next thing Joey knew, they were parked in the alley next to the pizza place-and there were no
cops in sight.

Joey looked at Seto, who didn’t seem shaken at all.

“Uh-wow, did we lose them?”

Seto nodded his head.

“For now, but we better get our pizza and get back to my place before they find us.”

Joey just shook his head. Seto was nothing like he’d thought he was. He never expected Seto
Kaiba to have a wild side! Yugi never would have out run the cops.......
