Chapter 8
Atemu dried his eyes and sniffled, a huge grin plastered on his face. The prince was grinning with the first true ray of light on the darkest horizon he had ever seen. Heba kissed him lightly on the lips, remembering all of the wonderful times they had had together, all the intimate nights they had spent in Atemu’s room. Heba blushed as he remembered one particular night were they nearly got carried away before the bonding ritual was scheduled to begin. Now they would have to reschedule their version of a wedding...
Atemu joyfully leaped out of the bed, pulling Heba with him out of his bedroom, the two racing through the familiar halls to the dining hall. Heba, being a light, speedy merman, reached the hall first. The little gamer laughed as Atemu came up behind him a full five minutes later.
“I win, mi hitori no boku!” Heba declared, using some Japanese he had picked up and a new petname. Atemu growled playfully.
“I can still beat you in wrestling, my little Heba!” the prince challenged, pouncing on Heba without further warning and pinning him to the ground. Their eyes met, and Heba reached up to bring his prince into a deep kiss.
Atemu was caught by surprise and Heba took the opportunity to map out his Yami’s mouth for the first time, having always been the uke before. Atemu moaned at the unfamiliar, but pleasant change of roles. He was willing to give his Heba the seme, just this once, and see how things went. Heba used Atemu’s surprise to his advantage and flipped them quickly so that HE was pinning the prince down, not the other way around. Heba broke the kiss gently, leaving Atemu breathless and honestly wanting more.
“Tease,” the prince pouted. Heba laughed.
“I know. Now you know how it feels,” he grinned before zooming away. The others in the dining hall watched the familiar, yet strangely reversed banter between the two mermen, wondering what in the name of Poseidon was going on.
“Can’t catch me, Atemu!” Heba laughed. The prince knew his little gamer always wanted to play, but the little merman had been without food for quite some time.
“We’ll play later, my little gamer. Right now, you need to eat,” the prince reminded. Heba pouted cutely, but sat on a soft sea sponge at a table made of coral, the prince taking his place across from him.
“What shall I get you?” Miho asked, her duties as a waitress having resumed upon the fact that Heba would recover best with Atemu. Heba grinned mischievously.
“I’ll take the usual, Miho,” Heba grinned. The sea snake mermaid gazed upon the merman in confusion until she gasped in realization.
“You- you remember!” she cried, silence falling all around. Heba’s grin widened.
“Of course. How could I ever forget my home and my life, especially just 4 months after my Yami proposed to me!”
