I do not own YuGiOh!, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Oh wow!
Like I said, it only gets weirder from here one out. Once again, thanx to lightanddarkness for her beta reading skills. And now I'm going to go hide in my little underground shelter (you'll see why).
“Jou, I need to get him to the healer’s. He’s molting early! Go find Seto!” He shouted as he picked Yugi up over his shoulder, mindful of his back, and took off down the hall.
“Ngh…What?” Yugi said as he looked around. He was lying on a small bed, face down. The room he was in resembled a hospital room. One with all sorts of weird gadgets hanging on the walls. The first thing he did was try to sit up.
“Aaahhhh!”
“What’s wrong, little one?” Atemu asked, as he came flying out of the chair he’d been napping in.
“Hurts.” Yugi sniffled.
“Oh, you tried to sit up, didn’t you? No, don’t bother to lie to me. I did the same thing after I molted. That’s not a good idea right now. You’re still weak. You’ve been in and out of consciousness for two days. That and wings are very heavy when you’re not used to them.” Atemu said as he brushed a blonde bang out of the little one’s face.
“I have wings? What color are they?” he asked, tiredly.
“Why don’t you look to your left, little one?” Atemu pointed to the side facing the window. Sure enough, a huge white wing was spread out over two more double beds. The end of the wing was tipped in gold.
“Wow!” was all that Yugi could bring himself to say.
“You have a twenty-five foot wing span, little one. You should be proud, they’re very beautiful.” Atemu commented. “Also very unusual, to be tipped in gold like that. Most Ehreniens have pure white wings.”
“Wait, what colors are yours? I’ve never seen them before.”
“I’ll tell you what; I will show you my wings. And help you to sit up and stretch. If you eat something. Deal?” Atemu bargained.
“Deal.” replied Yugi.
Atemu brought the bowl over and raised the spoon to the boy’s lips. Yugi raised an eyebrow at him.
“So I want to feed you. Problem?” Atemu asked, smirking. He put the spoon to his lips. Yugi shrugged.., winced, and then opened his mouth. Finding the soup to his liking, he let the other feed him the whole bowl.
After being hand-fed by Atemu and getting some help to sit up, he watched as the teenaged Aemohan grimaced slightly, before two very large, black and silver feathered wings appeared behind him.
“Beautiful!” He commented. “Can I touch them?”
‘Of course.” Atemu complied by sitting on the stool beside the bed. He slid the stool closer as Yugi reached out and petted one of them. With a sound closely resembling a purr, Atemu slid closer still.
“Wow, these are so soft. And real?! That means that this whole thing is real, isn’t it? Not just some weird dream. Wait, if this is real, then we’re really… you’re, uh I mean…” he trailed off, blushing madly, remembering a very vivid dream of the two of them together.
“Yes, my little one, we’re betrothed.” Atemu said. “Does that displease you? I don’t want to force you into something that you don’t want.”
“I-I just need some time to, uh, you know. To get used to this. It seems like just yesterday I was an average teenager. Now, I’ve found out that I’m supposedly a prince of some place I’ve never even heard of. And I have wings. And the sexiest fiancé I have ever seen.” Yugi said, blushing once again. “I just keep waiting to wake up average again. Sorry, but it’s true.”
“I’ll let you have the time you need, little one. But in return, I get to steal a kiss.”
Carefully, he lifted Yugi off the bed, and against his body, helping support the boy’s new wings with a hand on his back. The other hand came up to cup Yugi’s chin, tilting his face up. He brushed his lips against Yugi’s. Tracing his bottom lip with his tongue, he slipped inside when the boy opened his mouth. There he coaxed the little one’s tongue to play with his own. Eventually, he ended the kiss, and pulled away to leave feather light kisses on his nose and face.
“Thank you for that, little one. Just remember, I said that I wouldn’t force you. But I can still court you properly. And try to make you see things my way.” Atemu whispered with a grin, as he nipped at the boy’s ear.
“You’re doing too good of a job of that as it is. I’m not adverse to this; I just need to make sure that I’m not dreaming.” Yugi replied, holding tighter to his betrothed.
The door opened, and Siamun glared at the young Aemohan prince.
“Prince Yugi should be resting! He shouldn’t even be out of bed yet. And you’re in here molesting him! Out, Prince Atemu! You have duties to attend to, do you not?” Siamun said in reprimand.
“I’ll take him back upstairs with me, Siamun.” Seto poked his head in the doorway. “I can hear you down the hallway, by the way.”
With a lingering touch against Yugi’s face, Atemu left with a sigh. Yugi sat down on the stool, as the old man gathered his supplies.
“Your betrothed has been so worried about you the past couple of days, young one. We could barely get him to eat, let alone leave the room for more than a few minutes at a time. Ah, young love. You two are so cute together.”
Yugi’s face turned bright red as the older man continued the one-sided discussion on his and Atemu’s relationship.
“Well, anyways, I’m going to teach you how to fly. Isn’t that exciting?! Oh, and how to hide your wings. They tend to get in the way, being so large and all. You should be getting your last growth spurt now that you’ve molted. But don’t expect much.” Siamun rambled on.
“Go lay back down on the bed. I need to check your wings over while you’re awake. And you need a full physical too. I think that you are going to have the same problem as Prince Atemu. Your body temperature hasn’t dropped like it should have. That worries me! So, I’ll check that too.”
Yugi was a fast learner. By two months, he had flying down pat. And it wasn’t very taxing for him to hide his wings anymore. He also learned that there was more to Siamun than he had thought before. The older man had become somewhat of a mentor to him.
The growth spurt he had been told to expect put him at 5’2”. Just two inches shy of Atemu’s petite height. The biggest difference was that his face grew into his eyes. Before they had always been overly large. Now, he resembled Atemu to the point where people who didn’t know better thought that they were twins.
He also had lessons in using his light magic. Which were very taxing. There were days where he just fell into bed at night, exhausted. And don’t forget the Aemohan and Ehrenien history lessons. Where he learned why the older aibou in a bonding was the dominant one. Of course, there were always exceptions to the rule. He wasn’t too worried about that, though.
He and Atemu were getting along great. Somewhere along the way, he had gotten over his fear of having a relationship with another male. Once that happened, they had gotten even closer than before. But Yugi still wasn’t quite sure how to tell the other that he had fallen head over heels for him.
They continued to flirt and kiss, and once had even gone so far as to realize that if someone caught them half dressed like they were, there would be hell to pay. For Aemohan’s weren’t to do anything inappropriate with anyone but their aibou, their mate. But he still couldn’t bring himself to say the words that Atemu was patiently waiting to hear.
As Yugi wandered the corridor in search of his love, he came across the same two voices he had heard raised in argument at the boarding school.
“You need to tell him about this! Don’t be an idiot.”
“No! He comes willingly; I won’t have it any other way. I won’t, Seto. I don’t need this to be a pity thing.”
“But one of these days, what you are worrying about is going to happen. Then it’ll be too late. I don’t want it to come to that. I don’t want to see you hurt. If you’d just tell even one of us, maybe someone could help…”
“I said no! If that is what’s to be, than so be it! And don’t you go and tell him behind my…”
Both stopped in mid argument when Yugi rapped his knuckles on the door to the room.
“Tell who what? You two really need to argue quieter than that. This is twice now that I’ve heard you.” Yugi looked between the two.
“Nothing!” Seto huffed as he walked out the door.
“It’s nothing to concern yourself over, aibou. So, where have you been? You’re late.” Atemu chided.
“Oh, I’ve been playing games with the others. I just lost track of time. Sorry.”
“That’s okay. Let’s go, I have someplace special I want to show you.”
Atemu smiled, he had been able to elude his guards for a few minutes. As much as he loved his friends, he needed at least a couple of minutes to himself. To relive his last date with Yugi. The little one loved him as much as Atemu loved the boy. He could hear it in their flirting, feel it in every touch. Not long, now. And then he’d truly be safe.
“Damn it Jou! How could you lose him again? That’s twice now!” Bakura snarled.
“It’s not my fault, he’s slick. I thought he was right behind me.” Jou replied.
“Let’s stop fighting and start searching. He’s here somewhere. He probably went looking for Yugi. Those two have been glued together at the hip for the last couple of weeks.” Seto pointed out.
“Who’s been glued together at the hip?” Yugi questioned him as he walked into the room.
“Hey Yugi, ah, have you seen Atemu?” Jou asked.
“No, why? He said to meet him here.” Yugi replied.
All four Aemohans went white.
“Oh shit!” Marik said.
“Let’s go!” Seto yelled, running out of the room.
“What’s going on?” Yugi asked, trying to keep up with the others.
“As soon as we find him, he’s going to explain this, Yugi. Split up, Yugi, you and Bakura, take the west wing. Marik, Ryou and Malik, you take the north wing. Jou and I will take the east wing. We’ll meet back here in half an hour.” Seto directed the group.
Atemu moaned, he was in so much pain. His tormentor was flaying him alive. There was no part on his body that was not on fire.
I hate to ask, but please review?
