Truths

A year and four days since he'd last seen his brother in that hospital... A year since his death. Blood red rose petals fell from the bouquet he held as his hands shook with the force of his suppressed tears as he knelt, lying them atop his calm grave. The cemetery was silent... the sound of his sob as the tears wrenched themselves free almost echoed in the stillness. That door never should have closed between them... He should have tried harder... He should have made it work... He should have said goodbye... or told him that he loved him... And then it was too late. He had killed himself. His beloved brother had killed himself and it was all his fault...

"Seto-sama," Isono said quietly from behind him. "Come... It's time to go home." With a small nod through his tears he accepted the help to his feet and leaned on him as he walked back to the car, leaving his otouto behind him as he had once been left behind, to be alone forever.
